AFTERCARE PRICING

PRIVATE CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$250
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$295
Pets 100 - 149 pounds$395
Pets 150 - 300 pounds$415

COMMUNAL CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$150
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$195
Pets 100 - 149 pounds$225
Pets 150 - 250 pounds$255

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered in a private location with no visitation.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE FEES

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician. Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

AVAILABILITY

We are here to answer your questions every day, from 4 am - 8 pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.

Sometimes pets take a turn for the worse overnight or in a short amount of time, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice, but cannot guarantee that.

If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.

Dr. Amanda

Amanda Page

I grew up on the Central Coast of California & naturally gravitated to all animals that crossed my path. I would spend countless hours with our family cats and dogs. As I grew older I spent much of my time on ranches working with horses, cattle, goats, sheep & pigs. Some of my fondest memories are when my friend and I would take her goat on road trips and play soccer with my pig Cupcake. I always knew I would work with animals but it wasn’t until I started working at a small animal veterinary hospital that I realized veterinary medicine was my calling.

In the year 2000 I adopted a cat named Hank that would change my life forever. Our unique bond guided me to pursue feline veterinary medicine after my studies at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. After graduation from veterinary school in 200, I specialized in feline medicine for 7 years.  In 2013, Hank was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Grieving Hank’s diagnosis and decline was one of my life’s greatest challenges as he had been my best friend through so much of my young adult life. I facilitated Hank’s passing at home surrounded by his family and our other pets. The loss I felt struck me to my core. Hank has taught me so much about the impermanence of life, unconditional love and that our bond continues in a more subtle way.

I hold a special place in my heart for providing comfortable and dignified end of life care for the beautiful pets I have been blessed to care for & have chosen to focus on this aspect of care. As we enter the transitional phases of our beloved pets life, it can be so difficult to know when it is time to make the selfless decision to provide the gift of a peaceful passing. Providing gentle guidance, unconditional support and compassion along with holding space for families to experience their emotions, grieve, remember and begin the path to healing is an honor I am blessed to fulfill.

"When it was time for our amazing friend Gusty to leave his failing body, Dr. Amanda Page made the process as comfortable as possible. Of course it can never be a good experience, but it was far better for everyone than doing it at a vet's office.

Dr. Page was sweet & we never felt rushed.

When it's time for our other dog, Rex, to move on, we intend to give her a call again.

Thank you!"

"We were so glad we contacted Lap of Love to help us say goodbye to our sweet Labrador Georgie. IT was such a difficult decision for us but we knew we didn't want to see Georgie suffer even though we would miss her terribly. Dr. Amanda was the perfect person to help us through this. She was so kind, caring and compassionate and put both us and Georgie at ease through the entire process. She treated Georgie like her own dog. She was respectful and aware of every little thing, even wrapping her up so sweetly in a soft blanket to carry her out was a special moment and memory for us. We knew Georgie had gotten the best care and we were grateful for her coming to us on this very emotional morning. We would recommend Dr. Amanda to anyone in the Orange County area needing help! Thank you so so much!

"Sadie had been in declining health, especially over the last few months. Her poor little heart had just had enough. Dialing the number to Lap of Love was one of the hardest things I've done. My call with Courtney turned out to be so surprisingly comforting. I knew our baby was going to be in good hands.

Dr. Amanda was everything we could have ever wanted to help in such a sad situation, and more. She was patient, kind, and incredibly sensitive and in-tune with how we were feeling (scared, freaked-out, sad, anxious, etc.). It was like we were having a friend over. I honestly think the Lord played a part in this. She made saying goodbye to our sweet baby girl so much easier."

"On one of the most difficult and heartbreaking days of my life, heaven sent me an angel. Thank you, Dr. Amanda, for helping my precious little Pumpkin pass lovingly and peacefully into her next journey. I am forever grateful to you for the kind, gentle, compassionate care you provided to my very special kitty cat. On a day that held such sadness, you were able to give us a beautiful, perfect last experience together. You have a magical and very important gift."

"Dr. Amanda was amazing. We had to make the decision to give our sweet baby angel Roger a peaceful goodbye after his kidneys started to fail. His quality of life rapidly declined in a matter of a couple of weeks, he barely ate and wasn't drinking a lot of water so before we let him get sicker or run into an emergency situation we called Lap of Love to request an appointment. You can have them do a consultation before you make a decision but we knew it was probably the right time before things got a whole lot worse. Dr. Amanda was so kind. Her sweet and caring bedside manner was top notch. She walked me through how Roger was feeling - like he had a really bad flu and waiting to do this would eventually lead to seizures and painful death. She said it was the right time and that some pet parents wait too long. The last thing I ever wanted to do is rush my sweet boy into the emergency room where he hated to go. We had 3 years of managing his CHF and that's the last place I wanted to say goodbye to him. I knew the day he would be gone so I spent the 2 days prior to the appointment spending every moment loving on him and saying goodbye. While I still miss him so much it brought me much comfort knowing he wasn't scared. I just laid on the floor with my sweet angel giving him kisses and telling him how much I loved him. Thank you, Dr. Amanda, for taking such good care of my baby."

“On Mother's Day, we said goodbye to our sweet furbaby, Sadie. We were lucky enough to have in our lives for 16 years.

Sadie was adopted as a kitten from the San Clemente Dana Point Animal Shelter. Sadie bloomed from a shy, hesitant kitten to a beautiful, strong kitty. As a youngster, she enjoyed climbing up the wallpapered wall to the ceiling ...

“I feel extremely grateful and blessed for the many wonderful years I shared with my precious little Pumpkin and for all the beautiful, sweet, happy, funny times we enjoyed together. I will forever hold those memories close to my heart. My special girl brought joy, comfort, laughter, and love to my life every single day for nearly 21 years.

“Taylor was a gentle soul, and her eyes were full of love and trust. She had a way of bringing you comfort just knowing that she was around and loved to have her belly rubbed.

Even though Taylor was the quiet one, her presence is so missed. Jake is still looking for her, and I am still expecting her to slowly meet me at the door.”
