This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered by the crematory.
There may be a fee if additional assistance to safely carry your pet out of your home is needed.
Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability. For appointments nearer to Louisville, please call our doctor in that area: 502-443-0339. Sometimes, pets take a turn for the worse overnight, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice when possible. If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or refer to our local resources section.

Having been in general practice for over 25 years, I’ve had the joy of seeing many fluffy young babies become faithful and beloved companions. As they’ve aged, I have been there to help many of them live happy and healthy lives, long into their golden years. I truly believe that no one wishes to have their time end in an unfamiliar environment. Sharing those last moments in a favorite place, where both the pet and the owners are comfortable, should be available to everyone. This is why I have chosen to devote the remainder of my career to helping our furry friends live out their golden years comfortably in the warmth and love of their homes.
I became a vet in 1987, when I earned my degree from Ross University. I’ve wanted to be a veterinarian ever since I can remember. I’ve always loved animals, biology and just “icky” things, so it’s the perfect fit. I grew up in Cincinnati and have lived in South Florida as well as Colorado Springs. I am happy to be with family here in Lexington, and love being back in this part of the country where the grass is green.
I share my home with two house cats; Maui, the DSH who loves to spend her time in a bowl and Sparkle, the regal Bengal who prefers to be glued to a lap. The two cats earning their keep in the barn are James Bond and Pussy Galore along with 4 beloved horses who only sometimes earn their keep.

"Our family is so grateful to Dr. Kendra for her quick response, kind words and extreme professionalism as she took care of our sweet yellow lab, Lily, and our family during a very sad time. Her attention to detail gave us so much comfort and we were pleased that Lily's final moments were peaceful at home. Many thanks to Dr. Kendra and the excellent service she provides. Much love - from the Allens/Six Winters Farm"

"Dr. Kendra was a blessing. She was kind and thoughtful and took her time - we never felt rushed Our sweet Yufi was ready to go and she sensed that with every gesture and every tender word. I am grateful that this organization exists and that they employ experienced, informed and caring vets.
Thank you a thousand times-

"Lap of Love was such a blessing to our family and provided care and comfort for our loved 13 year old German Short Hair Pointer. They even provided same day service when we truly needed them when our dog could no longer stand. Dr. Kendra was absolutely wonderful and took great care of our dear girl, Jenna, as she peacefully passed at home and we said our final farewells. From the moment Dr. Kendra arrived we sensed her genuine concern and empathy. She took her time visiting with Jenna, clearly explained the process to us and was very supportive even after her visit. Dr. Kendra was first rate and we highly recommend Lap of Love and are truly grateful for their service!"

"This service was an answer to our prayers as our Jackie girl got so stressed at the vet in her later years. Dr. Healy was a sweet, soft spoken, true animal lover. She treated us with patience and care and our girl with dignity and respect from the time she arrived and graciously listened to our Jackie stories in between sobs and tears, until she snuggled her up on a stretcher in soft fuzzy blankets. Dr. Kendra gave us a little peace on one of the saddest days of our lives with her kindness, understanding and advice. Thank you Dr. Kendra Healy from the bottom of our hearts. Matt and I know that the world is a better place with people like you in it."

"Dr. Healy provides a much-needed service for people who love their pets so much and want to be able to give them the final gift of love by helping them cross over rainbow bridge. She put me at ease, explaining step by step what was going on. The process of passing and the way she would assist and make it a smooth and pain free transition from this life here on earth. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion."
