AFTERCARE PRICING

Private Cremation
Pets up to 99 pounds$240
Pets 100 pounds and over$270
Mailing of urn to your home or office$20

With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely cedar urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you for an additional fee.

Communal Cremation
Pets up to 99 pounds$90
Pets 100 pounds and over$130

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at the licensed Craig Road Pet Cemetery. Remains are scattered around the lovely grounds, tall trees, and rose garden.  The cemetery grounds are always open for a visit or reflection, and many of our police, fire, military, and service dogs have been placed there since the early 1960’s.

Additional Aftercare Fees

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician.  Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

Availability

We are here to answer your questions every day, from 6am - 8pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.

Sometimes, pets take a turn for the worse overnight, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice when possible.

If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.

Meet the Doctors

Let us introduce you to the amazing hospice veterinarians in your area!

Dr. Toby

Toby Goldman, DVM

Dr. Toby Goldman graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He studied and worked on St. Kitts in the Caribbean, then completed a clinical year at Oklahoma State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.  Dr. Toby worked in the San Francisco Bay Area, a busy practice in Cincinnati Ohio, and moved to Las Vegas in 1995.

He is a capable, confident, and experienced clinician, and well known in our community and nationally.  A Nevada licensed and USDA accredited veterinarian, he has worked as an associate, practice owner, and Animal Emergency Center board member and president. Dr. Toby has consulted for entertainers, hotels, zoos, and the state veterinary board.  He has cared for many “exotic” and zoo species, including fish.  He often speaks, writes, and performs for groups, clubs, and schools. Appearing in television, radio, online, and print, he has educated and commented on a wide variety of topics.

Dr. Toby’s veterinary interests include traditional and holistic medicine, using a common-sense scientifically based approach. He loves to talk about recognizing and managing pain, and uses spinal adjustments, acupuncture, joint lubricants, herbs, and supplements.  With an extensive background in nutrition, food is often the best medicine.

He is active road and trail running with his Australian Cattle Dog Brizzie, playing softball, racquetball, hiking, snow skiing, boating, scuba diving, and riding his ATV.  He also likes playing his guitar and ukulele, singing, painting, and travel.  He is fluent in sign and worked as a Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf, Entertainer, Teacher, and Travel Counselor.  He is a dad to three great teenagers that keep him challenged and proud, and his personal mission statement is “to create love, magic, and passion, by sharing my authentic self.”

Dr. Jessica

Jessica Jensen, DVM

I have been practicing medicine for almost 7 years after graduating from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2009. I worked in private practice in Wisconsin before moving here to Las Vegas where I started with Banfield in April 2010. I grew up on a dairy and sheep farm in Northeast Wisconsin. As a child, I always wanted the best for the animals on our farm and even fixed a broken leg on one of the barn cats with popsicle sticks! I became interested in how to treat animals and learned the importance of preventive care from the farm.  But have also developed a passion for quality of life care. I am currently focused on treating dogs and cats. I currently have one dog named Harlow who is a three-year-old Terrier mix. Ialso have four cats named Harvey, Walter, Milton and Alfred. In my free time, I like to go hiking, shopping, to the movies and sleep!

"Dr. Goldman was kind and compassionate - helping our 10 year old son, our family and our other pet through this difficult time. He made a special visit on a day he was not scheduled to work just to help us. He explained everything thoroughly and answered our many questions with love and compassion. We are so grateful for Dr. Goldman and Lap of Love."

"I would like to thank Dr. Toby for the wonderful experience he let us have with the passing of our baby Daisy. It was very tranquil and calming for her. She was very relaxed and under no stress at all. He made us feel our decision was the right one. We were on vacation in Las Vegas when our Daisy entered her final days. It was a harrowing experience, as all pet owners dread this experience but Dr. Toby made the experience comforting and manageable. Thank you Dr. Toby for your compassion and kindness at this very traumatic time. Daisy, you were definitely one of a kind and will be truly missed daily. We love you and miss you and hope to see you on the other side when our time comes, we will all be together once again."

"Dr. Toby was a compassionate, comforting presence, helping us give Yoshi a peaceful passing. Having Yoshi drift off peacefully in his favorite spot made it easier on him.

Thank You Dr. Toby."

"From the first call, until I picked up my baby’s ashes, our experience with Lap of Love was exemplary. The ladies on the phone were sympathetic, professional and thorough. When Dr. Toby arrived for our consultation, he quickly and accurately determined that it was time for our little Yara to cross the Rainbow Bridge. He explained everything as it was going on, and our baby went to sleep and crossed over so peacefully. He cut a lock of her hair and took a paw print. He even brought a basket and blankets to lay her little body on when he left. A few days later we picked up her ashes, along with a beautiful collage with another paw print, lock of hair, the rainbow bridge poem and a spot for a picture. What a lovely memento.

To say goodbye to your fur baby is so hard, and Lap of Love makes it so much easier. Instead of the glare of bright lights, cold metal and the stress of being at the vet’s office, Yara was relaxed, in her own home on her own blanket, with her brother nearby.

What Dr. Toby and everyone at Lap of Love does is truly noble - thank you so much for making such a sad day a little easier to bear."

"When I decided to finally put my best friend Charlie to rest, I had their number sitting in front of me for 2 days before I had the nerve to call. As I was talking to the woman who set the appointment I began crying. She was so attentive and understanding that even at my worst she helped me push through. On the day Charlie was to be laid to rest, Dr. Goldman showed up at the time he was to be there. He talked us through the process and made us feel very confident in my decision. As I laid my head on my dogs head he was very thoughtful and let me have my time with my dog. He made sure that I was ready for him to give him the final shot and left the room so that I could have one more moment with him. Thank you for helping me get through the morning and taking the best care of his final hour."

"Dr. Toby was Thurston's first Vet and also our Vet for 2 other Newfoundland dogs. He's always been amazing but I admire him for now helping us peacefully let our fur babies pass comfortably from this life to the next. It is a true calling and I can't say enough good things about his compassion at the hardest times of our lives."

“Thurston, you were such a celebrity! I don't think any other dog had more pictures taken of them like you did. You were a huge 170 lb Newfoundland who we loved and adored. We only had you 6 years and weren't prepared for your sudden departure from our lives. You can now run free with your dog brothers Hagrid and Thurston Howl II. We love and ...

“Lily was smart, sweet, loving and totally focused on loving me. I saw her picture on The Animal Foundation website and went immediately the next morning to adopt her. When she woke up and turned around and looked at me it was love at first sight. We were getting ready to celebrate our seventh "Gotcha Day" here in a few weeks but fast, aggressive ...
