With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely cedar urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you for an additional fee.
This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at the licensed Craig Road Pet Cemetery. Remains are scattered around the lovely grounds, tall trees, and rose garden. The cemetery grounds are always open for a visit or reflection, and many of our police, fire, military, and service dogs have been placed there since the early 1960’s.
There may be a fee if additional assistance to safely carry your pet out of your home is needed.
We are here to answer your questions every day, from 6am - 8pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.
Sometimes, pets take a turn for the worse overnight, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice when possible.
If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.
Let us introduce you to the amazing hospice veterinarians in your area.
Dr. Toby Goldman graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He studied and worked on St. Kitts in the Caribbean, then completed a clinical year at Oklahoma State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Dr. Toby worked in the San Francisco Bay Area, a busy practice in Cincinnati Ohio, and moved to Las Vegas in 1995.
He is a capable, confident, and experienced clinician, and well known in our community and nationally. A Nevada licensed and USDA accredited veterinarian, he has worked as an associate, practice owner, and Animal Emergency Center board member and president. Dr. Toby has consulted for entertainers, hotels, zoos, and the state veterinary board. He has cared for many “exotic” and zoo species, including fish. He often speaks, writes, and performs for groups, clubs, and schools. Appearing in television, radio, online, and print, he has educated and commented on a wide variety of topics.
Dr. Toby’s veterinary interests include traditional and holistic medicine, using a common-sense scientifically based approach. He loves to talk about recognizing and managing pain, and uses spinal adjustments, acupuncture, joint lubricants, herbs, and supplements. With an extensive background in nutrition, food is often the best medicine.
He is active road and trail running with his Australian Cattle Dog Brizzie, playing softball, racquetball, hiking, snow skiing, boating, scuba diving, and riding his ATV. He also likes playing his guitar and ukulele, singing, painting, and travel. He is fluent in sign and worked as a Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf, Entertainer, Teacher, and Travel Counselor. He is a dad to three great teenagers that keep him challenged and proud, and his personal mission statement is “to create love, magic, and passion, by sharing my authentic self.”
I have been practicing medicine for almost 7 years after graduating from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2009. I worked in private practice in Wisconsin before moving here to Las Vegas where I started with Banfield in April 2010. I grew up on a dairy and sheep farm in Northeast Wisconsin. As a child, I always wanted the best for the animals on our farm and even fixed a broken leg on one of the barn cats with popsicle sticks! I became interested in how to treat animals and learned the importance of preventive care from the farm. But have also developed a passion for quality of life care. I am currently focused on treating dogs and cats. I currently have one dog named Harlow who is a three-year-old Terrier mix. Ialso have four cats named Harvey, Walter, Milton and Alfred. In my free time, I like to go hiking, shopping, to the movies and sleep!

"Dr. Toby is an amazing human being. I could tell from the minute he walked into our home that although his job can be difficult he sees helping send our babies across the rainbow bridge and honor and a privilege. Our kitty Teeks had been sick with GI cancer for a few months and he had been declining pretty rapidly over the last weeks. During the initial consult and later when we let him go Dr. Toby was very supportive, tender, and did everything in his power to make Teeks comfy. Admittedly he probably helped me out as much as Teeks with his take on death and how our babies live in the moment rather than dreading death as we do. Thank you Dr. Toby- you are a gift to animals and their parents alike."

"What a beautiful and peaceful experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to send my daughter’s little angel to heaven. It was not rushed and Dolly was comfortable and at peace and relaxed throughout the whole experience. She came from a shelter, so I wanted to make sure she had the best care possible at the end, and she definitely did. I was so grateful."

"This was the second Basset Hound that Dr. Toby has helped send on to their next adventure. My first contact with Lap Love was to help my Basset Hound, Hank the Tank. That was when I met Dr. Toby. He made a dreaded action one that was peaceful. So when my Basset Hound, Molly Mae, told me it was time for her to go, there was no question who I would call...Lap of Love and Dr. Toby. Once again he made an unhappy situation peaceful and left me with a sense of calm, knowing I made the right decision."

"Dr Jessica came to our home , spoke to us and explained exactly what was going to be . She sedated Maggie , and painlessly put her into eternal rest. It was done professionally and with great compassion . Maggie never whimpered so I know she went peacefully.
Want to thank her for helping us get thru this very difficult time and decision"

"Thank you Dr. Toby for the compassion and caring that you showed not only me but my sweet girl Jada. I could feel that she was ready to pass on but needed assurance that I was making the right decision. The care and attention you showed in taking the time to explain everything to me and help me know that Jada was ready without any pressure or judgment, made what was a very difficult day much easier, calmer, and relaxed for both of us, and was much more than I could have hoped for. Thank you so much for doing what you do so well!"

"This was such a tough decision for me to make. After having to ease the suffering of my 14 year old cat, Lex, last Oct. at the veterinarian office I knew that I didn't want my terminal young cat to go through the same stress of being in a foreign place for his last moments. I contacted Lap of Love and Camilla was amazing. For me to be someone who's very introverted and hates discussing emotions, she was so incredibly comforting and it felt so natural to express my despair to her. I really appreciate the shoulder she lent. Likewise, I can't praise Dr. Toby enough. His calm demeanor and reassurance really helped me through this whole process. He treated my baby with the same care and respect as I have. As much as I will miss him, I'm happy that Gizmo left surrounded by love and at home where he belonged."
