Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
12/20/2007 - 9/8/2019When we realized that Nikki was sick we knew that we could not keep her alive with expensive treatments that would extend her life span without quality of life. We kept her happy, loved and comfortable until the day she was unable to eat or walk. This was our first experience with Lap of Love, through the recommendation of my son, who had also used them.

We have no regrets that we chose Lap of Love to come into our home and take Nikki to a better place with us holding her and helping her transition. The idea that this could have happened in a cold, sterile environment was never an option. Nikki knew where she was, and she knew we were holding her.

9/28/2012 - 10/19/2019Sir Stanley, how we miss you so very much! The house is not the same without you. We miss you barking at the door when we get home from a long day at a work. We miss your whimpering outside of our bedroom door. We even miss your barks at 4am to let us know you need to go outside. Your fur-sister misses you playing with her (rare as it was!). You will forever be our little baby who left a big impact on lives. RIP little buddy. xoxoSarah HeepWildwood, MissouriNovember 3, 2019
2/1/2005 - 10/25/2019Best dog I've ever had. Super smart, TONS or personality. Photo is just days ago when he felt almost 100% before getting worse again. Looking out the window from the couch. That day we ate pizza for lunch. He was very excited, soon as I put it in the oven and closed the door he gave me a high five. Then did mini bounces. He was always so happy to see people, new or old and get pets and even better, treats!

Silver developed a lump weeks after we arrived in the Saint Louis area. Everyone said it was just a fatty lump and normal, test came back thinking it is but maybe it isn't. Lump grew to two inches in two months. The night it turned for the worst was a perfect night and day. I got him hyped up for his last walk of the day. He did his jump on jump off the couch with his front legs but didn't land on his feet but on his side, his lump. It exploded with in. We tried for a walk but soon after, the dog that had his scent gland explode, not give it a second thought, because he wanted to go for a walk...was in pain. I rushed him to the ER. They said he may not make it and must stay the night. I got no sleep but by 7 pm Sunday night, he was home in his bed. By Wednesday he was 100% and very happy. Wanted to walk up and down the steps him self. Jumping up onto the couch and bed for his naps. Thursday though was a different story. He started to not eat, Friday morning, he wouldn't except anything, no medicine for the pain, nothing. Friday when I got home from my half day, I knew it was time. I spent the whole week working from home with him, I was so thankful for this. By 3pm that day, the 25th of October. The doctor came to send him off. I made sure that he went out his way. Sitting up on the coffee table looking out the window. He was so happy and could see everything and the people walking by outside....

I'm going to miss this dog more then I should and it still won't be enough. He was amazing in every way. I'll miss you dooooode, my boy, Sliver..... My best friend, Silver.

7/31/2005 - 11/1/2019We lost our sweet angel Apollo on November 1, 2019 as he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He was 14 years old and was suffering from kidney disease as well as mobility issues. He was no longer able to jump and play as he always has and was even having issues with walking. This broke our hearts to see this vibrant baby declining so quickly. We made a very difficult decision for him and now try to find comfort knowing he is now running, jumping and playing once more with his brothers who past before. I cannot express in words how much we loved our sweet Apollo as he gave us 14 plus years of love and joy. Apollo came to me as a little 10 week old kitten and the minute he allowed me to catch him, it was love instantly. He was crying outside my house for a day or two before he let me get close to him and once I picked him up, he has never known the harsh outside world again. I have been through many life changing events and Apollo has been there with me through every one of them, comforting me and loving me. I met my husband about 6 years ago and Apollo won him over 100%. My husband wasn't always a "cat person" until he met Apollo, then it was all over. Our dog, Max, is also missing his little brother right now as they were each other's company for many years. We are all working through this loss and Dr. Loren with Lap of Love was amazing during this difficult time. We cannot thank her enough for her kind words, gentle hand and love she showed us and our Apollo. I know that our baby is happy again and we will miss him and love him always!Lisa HayesTampa, FloridaNovember 3, 2019
3/1/2006 - 11/2/2019Our sweet boy was just a couple months short of being 14. He was the most loveable, gentle, slobbery, hamburger loving, mouse hunting, frog playing, trampoline bouncing, snoring snuggle boy ever. Anyone that knew him, loved him and had a piece of their heart stolen by him. I mean look at his face, how could you not.Ashley HeffnerCoplay, PennsylvaniaNovember 3, 2019

10/1/2001 - 10/18/2019Simon was our boy. He made us a pack. He trained us how to take care of him and we loved every minute of it. He was a quirky little guy - more into himself than others. We strongly believe that he considered us his butlers and we were more than happy to oblige. But in his own Simon way, he was loving and sweet. He gave us a reason to get up in the morning and to come back home in the evening. We are at a loss without him.Wendy CohenLake Wort, FloridaNovember 3, 2019
2/5/2005 - 11/1/2019Princess was 15 yrs old & over the last year she started to decline in regards to her mobility. Falls & stumbles increased & old arthritic joint became more painful even with twice daily pain meds. We decided it was time to make an end of life plan for her as we didn't want her days to be filled with pain & we knew she would try to hang on for us as long as there was breath in her body. She still had a light in her eyes but her old body was wearing out. Her last week was filled with extra loving & attention, lots of yummy treats! Full packs of Ham, large bowls of icecream, Five Guys Cheeseburger & multiple McDonalds cheeseburgers. On her final day she got a steak, a nice walk with her Daddy, chocolate for the 1st time in her life!! (it's poison to dogs but when you are getting ready to go meet Jesus it doesn't matter!). We fixed her a pound of bacon & gave her some before Dr. Abra arrived & then while the 1st injection was administered she enjoyed finishing off the bacon. Then she layed down, relaxing & went to sleep. She was actually snoring before she went into a deeper sleep. So from bacon to sleep with Mama & Daddy loving on was so peaceful. We are grateful for the Professionalism provided by Laps of Love & the gift we were able to give our Princess through them.Jenny RoofHendersonville, TennesseeNovember 3, 2019
