Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"Our family was very sad to have to put down our well-loved but very sick seven year old cat earlier this week. Dr. Brad Bates handled the euthanasia with kindness and compassion, particularly towards our 17 year old daughter whose cat it was and who was present for the whole thing. The cat passed peacefully. We appreciate Dr. Bates's sensitivity and professionalism."Joan MarkmanPhiladelphiaOctober 25, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra Healy"Finding Dr. Healy was a miracle. I don't know how I would have been able to handle Major's passing without her loving care and professional assistance. Being able to have a peaceful, personal, and meaningful experience to assist Major's passing is worth more than words can say. Thank you for being the miracle that I needed, and I thank God for sending you to us."Connie FucitoGeorgetownOctober 24, 2014Major's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Gardner"Mary was a bright star, lighting up the darkness during the loss of our beautiful cat Cocoa. What an amazing cat he was and we're grateful that Mary was able to free him to the next plane. Thank you Mary for your kindness and gentleness. We couldn't have asked for more given the situation! We miss Cocoa very much, but we know we gave him a great life, as he gave us one too. Our world will never be the same and we have other cats who feel the same and miss him too. Hope to keep in touch with you Mary, and we will be giving your name out to others who are faced with losing part of their family.
We love you!

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Connie Cannady, DVM"Thanks to Dr. Cannady our sweet girl Hanna went to the great beyond in the best way possible, in her favorite spot in our yard on a sunny day with the wind and birds to her ear! Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jason Goodwin, DVM"Dear Dr. Jason Goodwin & Tory,

Words cannot express the gratitude we have for your professionalism, compassion and care in assisting Rocky to the Rainbow Bridge! You and your services made one of the saddest days of our lives a little easier to cope with.

I was crying but excited when I was talking to Dr. Goodwin that morning and found out you were a former classmate and friend of Rocky's favorite vet - Dr. Meghan Clancy who has since moved from Seattle. You were meticulous in every detail, explained everything thoroughly, and treated him with love and dignity (just like the hospice doctor and nurse did for my family).

We cannot thank you enough for all you did for Rocky and us. We highly recommend you and your Lap of Love services.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Angela Bross, DVM"I want to thank Dr. Angela Bross providing such a valuable service. I contacted Lap of Love on a Monday, as I began to prepare to let my beloved dog go, and I was immediately contacted by Dr. Angela. She was warm, communicative, and supportive throughout the week as we exchanged emails. On the day she came to my home, she made the heartbreaking process of saying goodbye to Sampson as comfortable as possible. She was patient with me and she explained everything she was doing with empathy and understanding. I cannot emphasize enough how much she saved me and my dog from the certain trauma that would have come with taking him to the vet for his final moments. Being able to say goodbye to him peacefully, in our own home, was a tremendous gift. Dr. Angela reached out to me the following day and shared a beautiful tribute she had created for Sampson, which was so illustrative of how kind she is and how much she understands what it's like to lose a beloved pet. Thank you Dr. Angela. Your work is so valuable and so very much appreciated."Katie RinchettiVirginia BeachOctober 22, 2014

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Spitzer"We were very lucky to find Dr. Jessica Spitzer to perform a gentle euthanasia on our non-human family member, Buddy. This cat was one in a million and suffered from multiple problems brought on by age. She has not only an impressive education, but also a sympathetic and caring manner which helped make a traumatic situation as peaceful as possible. We cant put in to words how grateful we are."Brewster PlotnickTujungaOctober 21, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christine Shibly"Dr. Christine came to our house and reviewed all that was being presented to us and told us that we would know when it was time. She was kind, compassionate, understanding and patient. You have to have a gentle soul to be a hospice vet. Christine made a horrible situation as bearable as possible.
She provided us with the information that we ultimately needed to use in the next week. It was clear and it provided us with the tools to make our boy's final decision.
His last day Christine took her time with us, listened to our final pleas, but ultimately it was time. She provided him dignity and was with us throughout each step.
Lovingly she followed up in the following days asking if she could do anything for us.
We appreciate the love and kindness that she showed our family."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Hogan, DVM"Our precious Molly had had lovely, stress and pain-free week leading up to the two small seizures she experienced on Sunday morning. Dr. Erin Hogan made time for us that afternoon, and we were able to give our little girl the final moments she so richly deserved after thirteen years of unconditional love and sweetness.

Molly was a shy kitty, but she took to Dr. Erin without any reservations. When it came time for her to leave us, Dr. Erin made it possible for Molly's last breath to be taken at peace in my arms with her daddy's hand stroking her dear, sleek little head.

Dr. Erin treated Molly's remains with great compassion and dignity. We will always be comforted by the memory of Molly resting at peace in a wicker bed, wrapped along with her beloved catnip lemon in her favorite t-shirt, covered with a soft, fleece blanket.

Words cannot suffice in praise of Dr. Erin's great compassion and skill. She put us completely as peace with our decision to let Molly go, and despite having met her just a while before, made us completely at home in her presence. We will always think of Dr. Erin as a part of Molly's life."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Spitzer"In the weeks prior to Beatrice's final day, I was blessed with the support and guidance of Dr. Jessica
Spitzer. She was there to answer my questions and reassure me in my decisions. And when the final day came
came for Beatrice, Dr. Spitzer was there to assure me that Beatrice had a peaceful and dignified
transition. I am so grateful for her kindness and sincerity."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis"From the time Dr. Dana returned my phone call, I knew she was a blessing. In my heart, I knew allowing Jake to pass at home was the right choice. My Family appreciated her gentle demeanor and compassion. It was a beautiful day outside and with all of us surrounded Jake, she allowed him to pass under a shade tree with dignity and most off all, peace.

Two years ago, my sweet cat was diagnosed with cancer. After a short battle, I elected to end her pain. Looking back, I wish I had known about Dr. Dana. Although this experience is always gut wrenching, it was made easier by being at home.

Thank you, Dr. Dana."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Fletcher, DVM"Dr. Sara Fletcher is an Angel and Lap of Love is a true gift from God! Dr. Sara was more than I could have ever imagined for that difficult time and moment for myself and my sweet Kiwi. She showed so much compassion, understanding, love and peace and far exceeded what I had hoped and dreamed that moment would be like. All I wanted was to provide a peaceful and loving environment for Kiwi when the time came to make that difficult decision. Dr. Sara knew exactly what to say and do to provide a beautiful and peaceful moment. I cannot even begin to describe how blessed I feel to have been able to provide Kiwi with that moment. It felt as though Dr. Sara knew exactly what I wanted, without me even saying a word. She knew exactly what to say and the exact moment to do things - like taking Kiwi's paw print in the moment of his last breath! I will always cherish that paw print impression and know that it is Kiwi's final goodbye! Thank you Lap of Love and thank you Dr. Sara Fletcher for being a true blessing and Angel to myself and Kiwi!"Shawna SpencerHigh PointOctober 20, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Hogan, DVM"It was a bright November afternoon when she waddled into our hearts forever. She was an orange ball of fur, not quite 10 weeks old, and as we struggled to come up with a name, "Pumpkin," just seemed to fit. It was on her first entry into her new home that she quickly found the basket of stuffed animals (for the grandkids) and made them her own. Duck-Duck, Red Dog, and Ollie the hot pink octopus, became her constant companions. They all had their names and she knew immediately who each one was. An adventuresome sole, she loved the out of doors. Hiking, camping, rattlesnake training, long walks, body surfing in the ocean, we swimming in the pool with her treasure trove of water guns....they all provided her with endless hours of fun, and us with boundless joy and laughter. As time went on, she took on the role of "Hospice Companion" and frequently made visits as a loving care dog. She was the light of our lives, the joy in every single day, our best friend, and closest "confidant." We will miss her forever. Rest in peace Pumpkin...you will be forever loved.
A special thanks to Dr Erin Hogan, your gentleness and kindness will never be forgotten."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Nancy Rodriguez"“This is my second experience w lap of love w Dr nancy rodriguez. This decision was more difficult , but she was patient and responsive to all my questions. The euthanasia process was slow, easy, gentle, respectful to both myself and my sweet cat. I held him like a baby and , it was more for me than him, tho if the animal has any idea, he knew love and attention, care by both myself and nancy. The next day Nancy called to check on me as she knew how devastating it was to let my boy go, never pushed me into doing anything but what I thought was best for him. Highly, more than that, recommend this type of service.”"AikenOctober 20, 2014Simba's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kiva James, DVM"Dr. Kiva was a God sent. She was so compassionate. It amazed both my son and myself with her
ability to know exactly when to talk to us, and when no words were needed. She showed such
caring and provided the dignity that we felt Laney deserved in her last moments. She provided
the peace that we had hoped. We already knew in our hearts we made the right decision so Laney
did not have to suffer, we felt our hard decision was solidified after having Dr. Kiva in our home.
An extremely kind, caring and compassionate woman, and very appreciated by our family."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender"On Friday, October 10th, we said goodbye to our yellow lab, Jack. Dr. Katie Stender treated him with such love and compassion, and was so very gentle with him. His passing was extremely peaceful and we are eternally grateful to her for being there with us. She handled everything for us from the moment she arrived and was such a calming presence for both us and our baby. Our Jack had been sick for quite awhile and Dr. Katie was always there to talk through what was happening with him and helping us with whatever we needed, especially with the most difficult decision of all. Dr. Katie is an angel among us and truly has a gift; she is a wonderful and caring vet and we are so blessed to have her here in Jacksonville."Brigette WhittingtonJacksonvilleOctober 19, 2014

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"Dear Dr. Brad,
It's been over a month now, since we have had the pleasure to meet and work with you in aiding
us to put our little girl and companion of 15 yrs (7/17/99-9/4/14), Kylie to rest. Your expertise,
compassion, and nurturing ways helped us make this difficult decision that we were doing the right
thing to help Kylie. You were very gentle with Kylie, and she sensed your care and concern right away.
This was truly noticed. I have been in this situation in the past with other pets, and I can honestly say
you were the best I have worked with in this business. We want to thank you so much for your
authentic care, love, and compassion for Kylie and ourselves.

Love and God bless,

Mary, Dawn, Jack, Nicki and Kylie"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Hogan, DVM"Unfortunately this is the second time Dr. Erin has visited my home this year under the same circumstances. She is professional, caring and compassionate and I will contact her anytime I am in need of this service. Although this can never truly be a pleasant experience, both times I feel like under the circumstances, the memories of my pets passing is so much better than sitting in a sterile vet's office. My dog(s) was able to feel comfortable, relaxed and loved without any stress of leaving the home. That alone is priceless to me. Thank you Dr. Erin"Michelle MorganeRiversideOctober 18, 2014Lucky Morgan's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kara Becker, DVM"Words cannot express my appreciation and gratitude for the service I recently received. Despite having a newborn at home Dr. Juliana responded to my initial call quickly and with great concern and compassion. Dr. Kara who came to my home further exemplified the professional, understanding manner in which so much love for me and my sweet sweet dog, Isa, was expressed during the process of sending her to the happier, non suffering, spot in doggie heaven. I just wish to express my feelings that I cannot imagine another way this could have been accomplished in the same understanding and loving manner. Many thanks to all those associated with Lap of Love who helped make all the heartache and sadness somewhat bearable."Carol SpeckmanChicagoOctober 18, 2014
