"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever." -- Winnie the Pooh

My entire world was shattered in an instant today when my son, Charlie B. Arrington, passed away at the age of 13. He was less than 2 months short of his 14th birthday. Charlie passed away quietly and peacefully at home on his favorite side of our bed (aka "the good boy side") cradled in his daddy's arms the entire time. We are grateful to Lap of Love Hospice Care for their kindness, professionalism, and gentle services.

Charlie has made me the happiest father in the world in the years we have been together. He will always be my son and the light of my life. Charlie has been there helping me through the great times and not so great times in life with a smile every inch of the way pushing me to be a better person.

Before he passed away, I reminded him that his daddy loves him and will always love him until the end of time. Even in his state of health, he still smiled at me and reminded me of his strength.

His private funeral service was held at Faithful Companions of Charlotte at 2:30 on February 7, 2019. I was able to stay in the same room as Charlie throughout the cremation process (sitting in the oven room to the raking/cooling process)and I never left his side. We are grateful to Faithful Companions of Charlotte's services and for allowing me to witness every single bit of the process. Also thankful that they were able to get the urn engraving and paw print engraving done during the service.

In lieu of cards or gifts, please consider donating to the Animal Adoption League of Charlotte. That is where Charlie was originally rescued as an infant.

Thank you to all of our friends and family members who took the time to pray for us and to send us positive thoughts. A special thanks also to Charlie's grandmother, Tammy McDaniel Arrington Clark, for coming down to help with the ceremony.

Also a HUGE thank you to Providence Veterinary Associates and Dr. Murray for her years of loyal service to Charlie.

Charlie is now at peace being his daddy's guardian angel and he does not have to worry about those kidneys hurting him.
