Lola Marie Kenny-casinghino
10/15/2005 - 6/25/2020Era: a period identified by some prominent figure or character....
14.8 years. How do we mark our Era of Lola?
How do we measure her life?*
Oh, in long walks + sunsets, nighttimes and car trips;
In laughter + tears, and dinnertimes and kisses.
In a word,
with love.
We were mutual dependents.
Our constant companion, the boss, our girl, our rascal, our love, our darling sweet angel, our adventurer, our enjoyer of life, our do everything.
Our bottomless gratitude + devotion for and to our wise and generous girl; for all she taught us, and for all she gave us with her unfathomable understanding of our fallible humanity. We reluctantly go on without her, yet we will, for and with her, as she is with us, for all time.

Lori and Bernie ~
Our beloved dogs come in to our lives and give us unconditional love and joy every day of their lives. Lola was a lucky gal to have both of you to give her a wonderful long and loving time together as a family. My heart breaks for you both knowing how difficult it is to lose her. Hold her memories in your hearts.

Oh Lola. I will miss your sweet little ways. Never making a peep, unless there was bacon around. And you always could somehow read the room, and I’m pretty sure I saw you roll your eyes one time at some dogs causing a ruckus. You have been a fixture in our family and I am so sad to see you go. We love you always.
Love you so much Auntie Bern and Lori. She is always with you ❤️💔

A party wasn't a party without Lola. Dressed to kill of course, my favorite was the red winter jacket with fur. And that's how I picture her crossing the rainbow bridge, with her little strut, being greeted by those that went before her. I think she was the most photogenic dog I have ever seen. I will miss her greatly, and I hope each day gets a little easier for you two.
RIP; LMKC, big smooch on your forehead forever.

Lori and Bernadette, I have had a lump in my throat all day, remembering that brilliant, loving spark of Lola's soul. Marty and I know what it means to understand the lives of beloved creatures as eras that mark our happiness and frame our hopes. We need so much to hang on to these radiant beings!

We miss Lola, and you, and we are thinking of you and your little family now.

So sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to lose a family memberJoanne DiDUca - June 29, 2020
From the first day we met Lola in Somerville, we knew she was not only a little character but a little lady who just loved her mommas:) She wanted to please you both and brought such joy and love into your home; you both reciprocated with cuddles, love, kindness, many adventures, a great home, and numerous treats! We are sure she is forever grateful for having such a wonderful life with you both. Although her presence will be sorely missed, take comfort in knowing she is pain-free, having all the treats she wants, and playing until her heart's content. May your many sweet and funny moments together as a family bring you comfort and maybe, in time, even some smiles.
Sending you peaceful thoughts, hugs, and our love.

Kevin and I are so sorry that Lola is no longer our neighborhood friend. No fur baby has ever been more loved than she. We will miss seeing her trotting along the streets walking her humans. Your tribute to her captured the love you had for her and the pictures just made us smile. XXOO

Dear Lori and Bernie,

I’m so sad that Lola is no longer with us. She was a great source of love. I’m grateful to have many fond memories of Lola. Long days at Herring Cove beach. I was always trying to get Lola to swim with me but she’d only go in with Lori. Walking down the length of Commercial Street with Lola and witnessing her charismatic effect on people. Everyone wanted to say hi, pet her, or shout “it’s Lola, the Swimming Pug!” Highlights from the costume parades - when she dressed as a geisha and when she was a princess and Lori called her M’Lady.

I hope you can find some peace in the idea that she’s with Jack and Colby now. And Gampy is sneaking her treats under the table.

Mamie Kenny - June 28, 2020
Our sweet Lola. How you used to love sitting near Gampi in hopes of getting some scraps. How you used to wait patiently for your mommas to say their goodbyes at parties in your winter coat😭We all loved you dearly.
