Mr Windom
1/8/2007 - 11/21/2020Windom was born approximately January 2007. After many puppy interviews, he was adopted from Dumb Friends League in Denver by Christine in January 2008 where they estimated Windom a year old. He went from a dog too afraid to get into a car to the best travel companion and fur baby; Windom was very loved.

While there, Windom met many dogs and people but was most admired by Jeff. In 2013, after a few years of pet sitting and some unforeseen events, Jeff adopted Windom to help his friend.

Windom had done a lot of traveling with his humans. He has been in the Pacific Ocean and spent lots of time on the beach, hiked in New Mexico, Lake McConaughy Nebraska, camped in the Cascades in Washington, as well as many locations all over Colorado. Most notably Ice Lake near Telluride, Grays and Torreys Peak, and Mt Elbert, the tallest point in the state.

Windom was a dog that loved everyone he met and always received compliments for his coat, his smile, and his demeanor. He was also a quiet dog who communicated mostly through his eyes; when you guessed what Windom wanted, he would wiggle and stomp his feet.

He loved to give kisses and get attention, but his favorites were to have his belly and butt scratched. Windom also loved to sit on laps and observe the world around him. He was great off leash, gentle with children and smaller dogs, and a true mountain hiking dog.

He was the best friend anyone could ever have, and the positive energy Windom radiated cannot be matched.

Windom passed away on November 21, 2020 at the approximate age of 13-14 from several health complications. It was unexpected and quick.

He leaves behind many four and two-legged friends, but none that will miss him more than his longtime companion, Jeff.
