9/1/2000 - 1/19/2016Today we say goodbye to our beloved best friend Bailey. Bailey was a 15 year old Golden Retriever that we rescued 13-1/2 years ago. He added so much to our lives. Bailey loved walks at Lake Crabtree Park, chasing birds at the beach, burgers from the drive-thru and ice cream cones. The memories are plentiful and wonderful. Bailey was our household fitness director and continued his daily walks through all kinds of weather and two cancers. From those big paws and handsome face to his never ending quest for fun......we will miss you Boo.Karen and Mark LivingstonRaleigh, North CarolinaJanuary 22, 2016
Light a Candle

We are at the beach for our annual Fourth of July week. This is our first time here without Bailey and it seems so very quiet without our sweet boy. I miss our early morning walks on the beach, our visits to find cats at The Colony and spending time at the park along the river with a breeze to keep Bailey cool. We miss everything about you Boo Boo and the beach is not the same without you my big fluffy goofy guy!! Until we meet again.....Karen Livingston - July 8, 2016
Karen and Mark,

I had the great privilege of being Bailey’s Dog Nanny for many years.
Bailey was the most beautiful and sweetest pup and I simply adored him. We had lots of great times together and many wonderful memories.
He loved his belly rubs and would tap me with his paw when he thought I was stopping. I would just laugh and continue.

Bailey absolutely enjoyed being outside in his large back yard. He would chase squirrels, and bark at the deer that ran across the golf course.
Sometimes he would just sit and gaze up at the sky and watch the birds. He would dive into the autumn leaves and roll around and around.

Most often I surprised Bailey with a new toy when I visited. He would get so excited, grab it and head for the door wanting to take it outside and play.
He would run around in the grass and toss it up into the air—what fun he had!

But one of my best memories is Bailey’s love for his owners Karen and Mark and equally their love for him. Just minutes before they were to return back home from their trip; I would tell Bailey “ your Mommy and Daddy are coming home”!
He would jump up and start panting; grab his new toy and run to the window by the front door and listen and look for their car to pull into their driveway.
His tail was waging profusely as he anxiously paced back and forth awaiting their arrival. When finally that door opened Bailey was ecstatic!
Bailey would dart to the door with a happy bark and joyfully greet them. Karen and Mark were mutually elated to see Bailey also and it was always a glorious reunion of rubs, hugs and wet dog kisses.

Thanks Karen and Mark for sharing your sweet boy with me.
Remembering Bailey will always be so easy because I loved him so.

Your Dog Nanny,
