2/6/2002 - 1/19/2016Today was a sad day. Our dog, Bullet, is 14 years old and he has been struggling with his back legs -- basically they were giving out. It has been an on-going problem and this morning he collapsed. We had the vet come to the house and we put him to sleep, it was very peaceful and the best thing to do in the situation. He was the world's sweetest dog and he had a wonderful life. Dawnetta from Lap of Love was a tremendous comfort to us at this time.

He was rescued by me when he was a puppy from some unkind people and then about six years ago he fell through the ice at the farm and I had to get him out of deep end of the lake.

BeeCee, our oldest cat, sits in the window and always cries when Bullet goes for a walk, so today has been hard on her, she has been crying more than us. Every dog should have had the life he had and we are grateful for the time we had to love him.

Light a Candle

What a precious tribute to your boy! Bullet was such a lucky boy to have found himself a part of your family! <3 His life would have been so much different without you as a part of it... I know you were a blessing in his life, and I know his presence blessed your lives as well <3 **hugs** to all who loved and are missing your boy <3
Dr. Dawnetta Woodruff - February 3, 2016
I am so sorry about the loss of your dog Bullet. It certainly sounds like you loved him deeply. And he was so lucky that you gave him more than one chance at a long and happy life. I hope some day the memories of Bullet bring more laughter than tears. I tend to read the memorials because it helps me with the loss of my best buddy, Sparky, who died just a few days before Christmas. (I wrote a memorial for Sparky, too. http://www.lapoflove.com/pet-memorial.aspx?memorial=2491 ) I am also from St. Louis and we had Dr. Dawnetta help us through this tough time, too.

I wanted to light a candle for Bullet and let you know that someone else cares. I bet Bullet and Sparky are playing together somewhere right now!
