Diesel Ray Hanes
7/16/2004 - 10/10/2013When we brought Diesel home from the breeder, who was 5hrs away, he was 6 mons. old and 60 lbs. He must have been preparing us for all of the camping trips we would take him on, and that we would have to pick up after him, that he pooped in the back seat on the way home. He ended up being the best big dog anyone could ask for. He enjoyed boating for a short time (got to heavy to get in and out of boat), camping trips, and his vacation home in the Keys. Diesel would play Santa Paws at Christmastime with his hat and beard outfit. He thought of himself as a lap dog, who at 200lbs, most definitely was not. At times he would be a bed hog and push us out of bed with his feet while running in his sleep. While laying in front of the couch he was used as a ladder by his little sister Allie. Since she is a lot smaller dog he would protect her at all times. Diesel brought smiles to everyone's face that he met, and has left very large footprints on our hearts. He was our best friend, our protector & now our angel.Sean & Jodi HanesNaples, FloridaOctober 16, 2013
Light a Candle

I am sorry for your loss. I just want you to know diesel was loved even as far away as Minnesota. I know it was hard for Bailey as he really wanted to see him again. We have his memories and when we think of him it will be with a smile.

Sorry this was so late

Dear Jodie & Sean,

I just heard yesterday from your Mom about your loss of Diesel this week. Although I never got to meet him I feel I knew him through the stories about him from your Mom and of course pictures that she has sent me through the years. I know how tough it is losing a beloved pet, they are truly like our children. My heart goes out to you all and find comfort in knowing you fulfilled his life with a loving home. Hugs to you all at this time.

Sincerely, Marilyn Tacheny

Jodi, Sean & Allie,

My deepest sympathies to all of you at the loss of our boy, Diesel. I know all of your puppies are your children. And, Diesel was a special son, and grandson, who grabbed our hearts from the start. I enjoyed telling stories about my 200 pound grandson, to anyone who would listen. Especially about how he'd lay his head in my lap, which filled it, yet all the while he was trying to figure out how to get the rest of himself into my lap. He loved having his ears rubbed, which was the time he was the most verbal. He also loved to play "rub-a-dub-dub," when I took a towel to his drooling face. He brought us so much pleasure and lots of wonderful memories, for which I'm grateful. I'm sure those memories will sustain you until you once again meet Diesel, and all his siblings, at the Rainbow Bridge.

Love, Mom XO

Jodi and Sean, Wall and I never had the opportunity to meet your precious son Diesel but we do know and truly feel your pain and sorrow. Unfortunately our furry children never live long enough. They are such true hearts providing to us only love and expect nothing in return. We are so sorry for your loss. Thankfully we will be with them again.
