With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you for an additional fee.
This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered out to sea by the crematory.
There may be a fee if additional assistance to safely carry your pet out of your home is needed.
We are here to answer your questions every day, from 7am - 11pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.
Sometimes, pets take a turn for the worse overnight, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice when possible.
If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.
Tiffany Matheson, DVM
Growing up in rural Oklahoma I had many pets, some of which included dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, and even pigs. I spent nearly all my time with them or reading about them and when I was only five years old I told my parents that I wanted to be a veterinarian.
For my 16th birthday I got a Dalmatian puppy named Molly. Molly was my baby, and she was with me through high school, undergraduate college, and vet school. During my final year of vet school though, Molly became ill with chronic liver disease and 2 days after graduation I had to make the decision to let her go. This was my first time having to make that decision and while it was very difficult I was thankful that I was able to give Molly the gift of ending her pain.
Throughout the past 9 years while working as a Veterinarian, I have helped many people say goodbye to their babies and I feel privileged to have been able to give them a peaceful and loving last memory.
"Today I said "see you again in Heaven" to my Beau. He was my constant buddy, my kids' 'brother', and a playmate and walkmate to so many other dogs in our neighborhood. Dr. Tiffany was wonderful, caring, and didn't rush anything. Beau was very comfortable with her and I'm sure that helped make this more peaceful for him than I could have imagined. The staff that you speak on the phone to inquire and schedule (especially Donna) are so comforting. The follow up email after you schedule is caring and informative and really does help you prepare as much as possible. If you are considering this, but are undecided, I urge you to read some of the resources on the website. Though it doesn't take the pain away, reading them may help you make your decision and help you see that your decision is for the best.
Many thanks for your compassion to everybody at Lap of Love."

"It was time to say goodbye to Bunny, our Manx. we had Bunny for 19 1/2 years. We didn't want to stress him out with a ride to the vet. Dr. Tiffany was fantastic throughout the whole process!! She made such a sad, sad process much easier. Bunny had no pain whatsoever! as an animal lover, its the best last gift you can give to a pet. I would definitely recommend Lap of Love!!!"

"Dr. Matheson was so comforting and understanding. She helped us help Abby to "doggie heaven" or "rainbow bridge" in the best possible way. We reminisced, cried, held her. Most importantly of all, Abby went peacefully, and we are left with our memories of her. We cannot thank Dr. Tiffany enough for her compassion, and for how she helped Abby relax enough to be set free of fears and cares."

"It's been 2 months since we said a loving goodbye to our beloved cat, Caesar. It is a very difficult decision. We rescued Caesar and his 2 liter mates 12 years ago. We kept them together all their lives. Caesar was nicknamed "Dennis the menace"........but I say he kept the other 2 young by cuddling with them, or playing with them. Caesar quickly took a turn for the worse. Within a week we discovered he had kidney disease and he also had a heart murmur. The treatment for the kidney isn't good for the heart. We knew it was time for him to leave us peacefully. I emailed Lap of Love in the evening and by morning we called to arrange the procedure. Dr. Tiffany was at our house by 10:30 a.m. She was very quiet and loving to us and our Caesar. She calmly explained what would happen. She never rushed us. Dr. Tiffany was so gentle. Caesar was placed in a basket with a beautiful purple blanket to be taken. We received Caesar 2 weeks later in a beautiful carved little box with a name plate. We also received a letter advising us the Lap of Love had made a donation to the University of Florida Veterinary program in Caesar's name. We are so thankful for Lap of Love and the love and caring they have for a fur babies. I recommend them. They are wonderful."
