Meet The Doctor

Carly Billeaudeau, DVM

At the bold age of 5 years old, I informed my mother that I was going to be a veterinarian, and I have never looked back.  I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!  I was born and raised in Monroe, a small town in northeast Louisiana, where I grew up with a myriad of pets.

I attended Louisiana State University for both my undergrad and veterinary school. After I graduated in 2008, I began working in a small animal private practice. I am currently living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my husband, our three small children, and our two furry children.

Working in private practice, I began to recognize the need for end-of-life care for our pets. I realized that many people feel uncomfortable about knowing when it’s "the right time” or not.  No one wants to say goodbye, but no one wants to allow their pet to suffer either.  When my beloved pet, Sophie, was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I was devastated.  When "that time" arrived, I said goodbye to her in our home with her snuggled in my lap. It was terribly sad, but it was peaceful and loving, and she deserved that. It made me realize that this was the kind of experience that I wanted for all of my clients and patients.  Everyone deserves a peaceful goodbye, full of grace and dignity.

"Waiting from 11 am to 3 yesterday for Dr. Carly was like waiting for a grim reaper. My husband said "She's here", the words i dreaded. But there at my door was a sweet face young woman with a soft voice, she carried a little doctors bag like in earlier times. She quiety sat by my sleeping Nicholous. She spoke in quiet tones, she knew our anglish. With her help, he died on his warm sleeping pad with my husband petting him. If anything other than this would have happened, I would never forgive myself for keeping him alive until something bad happened."

"Dr. Carly from Baton Rouge, La. was the most understanding

lady. When she arrived she talked with us she didn't rush us to start

anything. she let me take my time and just hold my baby as

long as i need. she was very kind and made Lita's passing a

very painless and peacefully time for Lita. she was very understanding

and concerned about our feelings as well. Dr. Carly made this very painfull

and extremy hard time for us a lot easier."

Walker, Louisiana

"It will be a year in just a few days that our sweet Oliver left us and only now am I able to comment. Devastation doesn't even tell the whole story about the loss of this precious fur baby. Dr. Carly Billeaudeau was and is an angel who guided us down that sad road of saying good bye to Oliver. It was time for us to let him go and I simply could not imagine having to put him in the car to drive him to his final destination. Dr. Billeaudeau is caring, sympathetic, and professional. My husband and I are still appreciative in the manner that she treated Oliver and us in our own home. We are grateful for Lap of Love and there are not enough words to express our gratitude to Dr. Billeaudeau for her kindness during a very sad time."

"Our vet was amazing. She was calm around all 4 of my dogs and was completely respectful of our time and our feelings. She was very professional and it was the best experience in such a sad time."

Lydia Perez

"Unfortunately I've had to use Dr. Carly twice in the last year. She is amazing. Extremely caring and very understanding. My 13 year old lab mix, Cletus, had to be put to sleep last year and in July of this year, 2017, my dachshund mix that I've had for over 18 years had to cross the rainbow bridge as well. I would recommend the Lap of Love service and Dr. Carly to anyone in need of these services. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is very compassionate about her job and it shows. She really makes you feel at ease and never rushes the difficult process. Thank you so much for your services."

Amy Hebert
Zachary, Louisiana

"Dr. Carly was amazing! Calling her was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. She explained everything in detail to me before the procedure and answered any questions I had. She let me have as much time as I needed with Deuce. She was very gentle and understanding, and explained what she was going to do and what to expect during the procedure. I hope to never have to make that call again, but should I have to, I'll definitely call her! Thank you for helping my Deuce transition peacefully."

“Lita was the most amazing fur baby and friend I have ever had. She would make me Smile with her sweet eye kisses and her ever so tender nips on my check when she wanted me to stop kissing on her. Lita was an amazing gift from my Husband the moment I seen her I knew God had made this puppy for me. She loved to dress up in her dresses and shoes and ...

“Our "Harper-man" passed away after we found out his liver was failing this past weekend. Harper was our world. There isn't one thing we wouldn't do for him, just to make sure he was healthy, spoiled and loved. The pictures I chose to share were of his last few days. Our other dogs (Loretta, Dempsey and Darwin) knew as well and the picture of them ...
