With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you.
This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered by the crematory in a memory garden on their property.
There may be a fee if additional assistance to safely carry your pet out of your home is needed.
We are here to answer your questions every day, from 8am - 8pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.
Sometimes, pets take a turn for the worse overnight, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice when possible.
If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.
Let us introduce you to the amazing hospice veterinarians in your area.
Carly Billeaudeau, DVM
At the bold age of 5 years old, I informed my mother that I was going to be a veterinarian, and I have never looked back. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else! I was born and raised in Monroe, a small town in northeast Louisiana, where I grew up with a myriad of pets.
I attended Louisiana State University for both my undergrad and veterinary school. After I graduated in 2008, I began working in a small animal private practice. I am currently living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with my husband, our three small children, and our two furry children.
Working in private practice, I began to recognize the need for end-of-life care for our pets. I realized that many people feel uncomfortable about knowing when it’s "the right time” or not. No one wants to say goodbye, but no one wants to allow their pet to suffer either. When my beloved pet, Sophie, was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I was devastated. When "that time" arrived, I said goodbye to her in our home with her snuggled in my lap. It was terribly sad, but it was peaceful and loving, and she deserved that. It made me realize that this was the kind of experience that I wanted for all of my clients and patients. Everyone deserves a peaceful goodbye, full of grace and dignity.

"Dr. Carly is truly an angel on earth. The decision to euthanize our sweet kitty, Oreo, was a very difficult one, to say the least. Although I knew deep in my heat that it was for the best, I agonized about it each and every day prior to our visit from the doctor. My husband and I cannot say enough about Dr. Carly; a beautiful lady with a heart to match, we found her to be both professional and personal. She patiently sat with us and listened to our story, then took our precious Oreo on his journey across the Forever Bridge. We will have pets for as long as we're able, and I will never think twice about calling Dr. Carly when the time arises again. Although none of us want to face this heartbreaking experience, we know it's inevitable. I thank God for Dr. Carly and the fact that Oreo crossed over without even a wince of pain. God Bless you and all others that care so much for our furbabies, Dr. Carly!"

"Waiting from 11 am to 3 yesterday for Dr. Carly was like waiting for a grim reaper. My husband said "She's here", the words i dreaded. But there at my door was a sweet face young woman with a soft voice, she carried a little doctors bag like in earlier times. She quiety sat by my sleeping Nicholous. She spoke in quiet tones, she knew our anglish. With her help, he died on his warm sleeping pad with my husband petting him. If anything other than this would have happened, I would never forgive myself for keeping him alive until something bad happened."

anything. she let me take my time and just hold my baby as
long as i need. she was very kind and made Lita's passing a
very painless and peacefully time for Lita. she was very understanding
and concerned about our feelings as well. Dr. Carly made this very painfull

"It will be a year in just a few days that our sweet Oliver left us and only now am I able to comment. Devastation doesn't even tell the whole story about the loss of this precious fur baby. Dr. Carly Billeaudeau was and is an angel who guided us down that sad road of saying good bye to Oliver. It was time for us to let him go and I simply could not imagine having to put him in the car to drive him to his final destination. Dr. Billeaudeau is caring, sympathetic, and professional. My husband and I are still appreciative in the manner that she treated Oliver and us in our own home. We are grateful for Lap of Love and there are not enough words to express our gratitude to Dr. Billeaudeau for her kindness during a very sad time."
