PRIVATE CREMATION
Pets up to 49 pounds$245
Pets 50 - 99 pounds$275
Pets 100 - 149 pounds$300
Pets 150 - 200 pounds$375

With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you.

COMMUNAL CREMATION
Pets up to 49 pounds$150
Pets 50 - 99 pounds$175
Pets 100 - 149 pounds$225
Pets 150 - 200 pounds$255

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered by the crematory in a pet cemetery.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE FEES

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician.  Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

Dr. Mandi

Mandi Beckmann

There was never any doubt in my mind that I wanted to become a veterinarian and that has always been thanks to the incredible bonds I was lucky enough to form with some amazing animals. I grew up on a small hobby farm in Minnesota surrounded by a menagerie of animals: dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses… the list goes on!

With my mom’s help and support, I spent my teenage years fostering rescue dogs. Over time, a few of those dogs found their forever home with us. Peaches was a senior pitty who had a really rough start in life. As soon as she came home with us, we all knew (Peaches included) that she had finally found her forever safe place. Miss Peaches spent four years with us and helped raise puppies while always remaining the sweet yet authoritative boss of the household. She was such a blessing in our family, and at the end of her life, we were able to say goodbye in the comfort of our home with the help of our family’s veterinarian. I am thankful beyond words that she could pass peacefully in the place where she knew she was safe and loved, after all those years and her storied past. I keep her tags on my keychain as a reminder that the incredible bond we shared will never be gone. That bond, and others like it, shaped my views as I began my professional career and today it fuels my love for this work.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, I completed an internship with an equine veterinary practice. I have a wide variety of interests including ophthalmology, reproduction medicine, and neonatology. However, my favorite thing about being a veterinarian is having the privilege to connect with and care for people and their beloved pets. In my eyes, there are few ways to better honor the beauty of the human-animal bond than through the gift we provide at Lap of Love. Giving your beloved pet a peaceful passing is an incredible gift and one that I’m humbled to be able to provide. I truly am honored to be there for you during this delicate time.

"Dr. Mandi was very calm and gentle with Chance, our golden retriever of many years and our loyal friend that was such a big part of our family. Her kindness and warmth during this difficult time was such a huge difference to Chance, as well as us and our family. Our thanks to Dr. Mandi for helping to make Chance's passing a peaceful and dignified one. We appreciated everything that was done all on Chance's behalf."

"Dr. Mandi was great! So sympathetic and understanding of how difficult this was for me. She was excellent with my Cleo and made this process as peaceful for both of us as possible. I'm glad she was able to help my baby girl get her angel wings."

Chrissy Lessord

"Our soulful dog Lola was in my lap with my husband right next to us. She only felt comfort and love as she passed very peacefully. Dr. Mandi kindness and skill was lovely. I cried very softly and there was no awkwardness or undo stress.

Dr Mandi's way of being with you and your pet is the only way I would ever experience a passing again.

Strangely enough it would be nice if humans were able to pass over in this manner."

"After making that hard decision to let my dog go, I knew I wanted him to be home. My vet recommended Laps of Love. I called and made the appointment. The person on the phone was very kind and gentle with me. She was very patient and allowed me to take my time. When the day arrived Dr. Mandi came to the house. She was very kind and explained what would happen. She let us take our time and talked with me about Chewy and it being the right decision. I was able to hold my boy as he left us. It was as peaceful as any of us could hope to pass. The kindness shown to us was exactly what we needed. When I’m faced with this difficult time in the future, I will be using their services again."

"Dr. Mandi was kind, compassionate and so gentle with my Sophie. She took time to explain the process and handled my baby with dignity as she took her away. Thank you Dr. Mandi for giving us the chance to let Sophie end her life In her own home in a peaceful manner."

Marie Cimino

"Dr. Mandi helped our family through a very difficult day when we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Daisy. She was professional, explained the process thoroughly, and was extremely kind and caring. We felt good about the fact that Daisy was in her own backyard surrounded by family and drifted off to sleep peacefully and painlessly. We are very grateful to Dr Mandi and highly recommend her."

“On October 10th I had to send my baby girl Cleo to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Making the decision to let her go was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. My heart is shattered. She was a gentle, loving soul and had the kindest eyes. She was always such a good girl and loved by all. I couldn't have asked for better. Not seeing her every day, not ...

“As with so many rescued animals, Chewy rescued me as much as I rescued him. What started out as a scared little dog became a confident protector and loyal friend. I wish I had the blessing to have been a part of his life for more than the fast flying 4 years. I was expecting a few more but life doesn’t usually happen on our timeline.”
