AFTERCARE PRICING

PRIVATE CREMATION
Pets up to 49 pounds$245
Pets 50 - 99 pounds$275
Pets 100 - 149 pounds$300
Pets 150 - 200 pounds$375

With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you.

COMMUNAL CREMATION
Pets up to 49 pounds$150
Pets 50 - 99 pounds$175
Pets 100 - 149 pounds$225
Pets 150 - 200 pounds$255

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered by the crematory in a pet cemetery.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE FEES

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician.  Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

COVID-19 Update: We are still honored to join you in the home so that your pet can be safely surrounded by loved ones during this time.

We are here to answer your questions every day, from 7am - 11pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability. If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.
Meet The Doctor
Let us introduce you to the amazing hospice veterinarian in your area!

Dr. Mandi

Mandi Beckmann

There was never any doubt in my mind that I wanted to become a veterinarian and that has always been thanks to the incredible bonds I was lucky enough to form with some amazing animals. I grew up on a small hobby farm in Minnesota surrounded by a menagerie of animals: dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses… the list goes on!

With my mom’s help and support, I spent my teenage years fostering rescue dogs. Over time, a few of those dogs found their forever home with us. Peaches was a senior pitty who had a really rough start in life. As soon as she came home with us, we all knew (Peaches included) that she had finally found her forever safe place. Miss Peaches spent four years with us and helped raise puppies while always remaining the sweet yet authoritative boss of the household. She was such a blessing in our family, and at the end of her life, we were able to say goodbye in the comfort of our home with the help of our family’s veterinarian. I am thankful beyond words that she could pass peacefully in the place where she knew she was safe and loved, after all those years and her storied past. I keep her tags on my keychain as a reminder that the incredible bond we shared will never be gone. That bond, and others like it, shaped my views as I began my professional career and today it fuels my love for this work.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, I completed an internship with an equine veterinary practice. I have a wide variety of interests including ophthalmology, reproduction medicine, and neonatology. However, my favorite thing about being a veterinarian is having the privilege to connect with and care for people and their beloved pets. In my eyes, there are few ways to better honor the beauty of the human-animal bond than through the gift we provide at Lap of Love. Giving your beloved pet a peaceful passing is an incredible gift and one that I’m humbled to be able to provide. I truly am honored to be there for you during this delicate time.

"It is difficult to put into words how amazing Dr. Mandi was in helping our girl pass with dignity and love around her. She helped to take the pressure of the very difficult decision of when was the right time to let our sweet girl go and had so much empathy throughout the process. I am not sure how Dr. Mandi's heart can handle what she does but I cannot imagine this without her soothing and supportive assistance. We are forever thankful."

"Dr. Mandi was wonderful. She was kind and carefully explained everything, but even more wanted to hear about Zoe. When Zoe passed Dr. Mandi brought in the stretcher and helped me carefully put Zoe on the stretcher. She took a pillow and placed it under her head and took Zoe's blanket and tucked her in. Thank you Dr. Mandi"

"Molly was not a dog who liked to ride in a car, we were hoping she would pass at home because taking her to the vet for her last minutes of her life was difficult for us to think about doing.

We also did not want our Molly to suffer. We are so happy we found Lap of Love on the internet. Dr. Mandi was wonderful as well as the young lady who I talked with on the phone. They were very compassionate, safe and caring, walking us through the whole process. Thank you Lap of Love and Dr. Mandi."

"If you ever have to make the heart breaking decision to euthanize your pet, Lap of Love is the best choice you can make. Dr. Mandi gets it. She understands our pets are part of our family and the emotional time this is for all. We had no idea what to expect and she was the perfect person to assist.

We are so grateful we found her."

“We miss sweet Ella so much. We are not sure what she is doing over the Rainbow Bridge because she was quite the snob to other dogs but hopefully she has made some friends. We are left with broken hearts but also with wonderful loving memories of our sweet girl.”

“Brinna was the sweetest dog ever. She was the Queen our our pack and an agility champion. I inherited Brinna from a friend who passed away 3 years ago. Brinna has known me since she was a pup so she was happy in my home and we all loved her. She has now passed over into her dog moms arms. I am so honored to have the opportunity to love her.”
