AFTERCARE PRICING

PRIVATE CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$275
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$300
Pets 100 - 200 pounds$400

With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you.

COMMUNAL CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$150
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$200
Pets 100 - 200 pounds$300

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered in a pet cemetery.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE FEES

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician.  Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

AVAILABILITY

We are here to answer your questions every day, from 7am - 11pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.

Sometimes pets take a turn for the worse overnight or in a short amount of time, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice, but cannot guarantee that.

If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.

Let us introduce you to the amazing hospice veterinarian in your area!

Dr. Sarah

Sarah Ryan, DVM

I grew up out in the country in a suburb of Dayton, where I enjoyed the companionship of a dog, many outdoor cats, and a few hamsters throughout my childhood. My deep love of pets and my desire to serve the community inspired me to become a veterinarian. I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology and Pre-Veterinary Sciences from the University of Findlay and my doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, I focused on small animal companion general medicine and surgery at Banfield Pet Hospital.

Being able to build a bond with families in their time of need and help ease their loved one’s pain is a privilege to me and I’m honored to have the opportunity to expand Lap of Love's services to our community. I currently have two golden retrievers and three guinea pigs. Turner, my male golden, was rescued as a puppy and was named after the Atlanta Brave's baseball stadium. Taylor, my female golden, is named after Taylor Swift.  My guinea pigs are named Pooh Bear, Junebug, and Wookie. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and in 2017, I visited Thailand and the world-famous Elephant Nature Park.

"We cannot say enough how wonderful Sarah was with not only us but with our cat. She spoke to him like she has known him all her life. She took the time to ask about what his personality was, which really hit home for both me and my husband. She was gentle and caring. She did not react to our 'ugly cries', which says alot (LOL!). We were so torn on if this was the right decision to end his suffering but right after he was gone a full doble rainbow appeared and we knew he was already at the rainbow bridge. We cannot say enough kind words about Sarah because it would never be enough! What an amazing service they offer! He was able to pass at home, peacefully, not at an unfamiliar office. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

"Dr. Sarah Ryan,

You made such a difference for Alice in her last moments with us. It takes a special person to do what you do and to be so gentle, thoughtful, and understanding of our feelings and of our dear dog Alice, too.

I would highly recommend your service for anyone who's pet is near end of life and suffering.

Alice was a big part of our family for 14 years. Thank you for helping us to honor her and give her peace and comfort in our own home.

We will never forget!

Sincerely,

Jane & son, Winfield Thomas"

"Sarah was very sweet and understanding during this sad time in my life.

She made a very difficult time a little easier. I would recommend her to anyone that has to send their loved one to the Rainbow Bridge."

"Dr Sarah has been to our home twice to help our Carmine and Harley pass peacefully. She is wonderful, calming, and compassionate. I highly recommend her when the time comes for your beloved pet..."

"The level of care and compassion I received from not only Sarah but from everyone I spoke to on the phone was amazing. This decision was difficult and I was reassured comfortably. My only other option was to go to the clinic and during a pandemic, all staff would have been in full PPE gear which would have taken away the last moments Petey and I had together. Being able to be home and outside laying on a blanket in the sun was peaceful. I'm hurting and alone. A lot. When I lost my first boy, I had Petey. This is the first time in 20 years that I don't have a pup. I hate it. I look for him everywhere. I miss talking with Lap of Love on the phone and I'd love to speak with Sarah again though no words could ever express my gratitude."

"Dr. Sarah come to our home because our large Shepherd couldn’t be put

In our car to be put to sleep. She was compassionate and took her time with our family member. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you Lap of Love for easing our pain."
