AFTERCARE PRICING

PRIVATE CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$275
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$300
Pets 100 - 200 pounds$400

With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you.

COMMUNAL CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$150
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$200
Pets 100 - 200 pounds$300

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered in a pet cemetery.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE FEES

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician.  Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

AVAILABILITY

COVID-19 Update: We are still honored to join you in the home so that your pet can be safely surrounded by loved ones during this time.

We are here to answer your questions every day, from 7am - 11pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.

Sometimes pets take a turn for the worse overnight or in a short amount of time, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice, but cannot guarantee that.

Dr. Sarah

Sarah Ryan, DVM

I grew up out in the country in a suburb of Dayton, where I enjoyed the companionship of a dog, many outdoor cats, and a few hamsters throughout my childhood. My deep love of pets and my desire to serve the community inspired me to become a veterinarian. I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology and Pre-Veterinary Sciences from the University of Findlay and my doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, I focused on small animal companion general medicine and surgery at Banfield Pet Hospital.

Being able to build a bond with families in their time of need and help ease their loved one’s pain is a privilege to me and I’m honored to have the opportunity to expand Lap of Love's services to our community. I currently have two golden retrievers and three guinea pigs. Turner, my male golden, was rescued as a puppy and was named after the Atlanta Brave's baseball stadium. Taylor, my female golden, is named after Taylor Swift.  My guinea pigs are named Pooh Bear, Junebug, and Wookie. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and in 2017, I visited Thailand and the world-famous Elephant Nature Park.

"Doctor Ryan was incredible. She was so understanding and sweet and knew exactly what to do. I am so glad I got to use this company to give my baby the best end he could get. He was an elderly rescue with severe health issues and she was totally understanding of my fears and concerns and made us both feel so comfortable. I got his remains back very quick and the box it comes in is very nice. I will recommend this company and never forget. Thank you so much."

"Thank you so much Dr. Ryan for your compassionate care with our beloved boy Ishmael. It was the hardest day of our lives having to say goodbye to our best friend, but we were so lucky and blessed to have a doctor as caring as you to help make things a little less hard. We know that in the end we made the right decision, and while we miss our sweet boy immensely, we feel comforted by the fact that with your help we were able to make Ishmael’s passing as gentle and loving as possible in the comfort of his home. We will be forever grateful for the kindness and sympathy you and the Lap of Love team have shown our family."

"Dr. Sara was very kind and caring through this terrible day. She allowed us our time to hold our baby and say goodbye feeling very comfortable with her. It is the worst thing to go through and she made us feel sure that what we were doing was the right choice. I would have never guessed this service was available but so glad it was. Our little girl was in her home and she felt safe as we had to say goodbye."

“Ishmael was a happy, loving friend to all who knew him. His personality was larger than life. His favorite thing in the world was going for walks. He especially loved the trails behind the school, sniffing all the interesting scents and dipping into the big pond to cool off. He loved to chase squirrels and was a fierce defender of our homestead, ...
