AFTERCARE PRICING

PRIVATE CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$275
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$300
Pets 100 - 200 pounds$400

With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. The ashes are contained in a lovely wooden urn with an engraved nameplate and will be returned to your primary care veterinarian within two weeks. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to you.

COMMUNAL CREMATION
Pets up to 39 pounds$150
Pets 40 - 99 pounds$200
Pets 100 - 200 pounds$300

This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered in a pet cemetery.

ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE FEES

To best honor your personal space, our doctors do not arrive with a vet technician.  Therefore, if your family has elected cremation for a pet over 30 pounds, we may ask your assistance moving your loved one after euthanasia has been performed.  If additional help is needed outside what is available in the home, we may request that the crematory come to assist us.  In this case, an additional fee will be needed to cover their charge.

AVAILABILITY

We are here to answer your questions every day, from 7am - 11pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.

Sometimes pets take a turn for the worse overnight or in a short amount of time, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice, but cannot guarantee that.

If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.

Dr. Sarah

Sarah Ryan, DVM

I grew up out in the country in a suburb of Dayton, where I enjoyed the companionship of a dog, many outdoor cats, and a few hamsters throughout my childhood. My deep love of pets and my desire to serve the community inspired me to become a veterinarian. I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology and Pre-Veterinary Sciences from the University of Findlay and my doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, I focused on small animal companion general medicine and surgery at Banfield Pet Hospital.

Being able to build a bond with families in their time of need and help ease their loved one’s pain is a privilege to me and I’m honored to have the opportunity to expand Lap of Love's services to our community. I currently have two golden retrievers and three guinea pigs. Turner, my male golden, was rescued as a puppy and was named after the Atlanta Brave's baseball stadium. Taylor, my female golden, is named after Taylor Swift.  My guinea pigs are named Pooh Bear, Junebug, and Wookie. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and in 2017, I visited Thailand and the world-famous Elephant Nature Park.

"I am so fortunate that a friend of mine mentioned lap of love. I dreaded the thought of having to take my sweet Polly girl to a place that she hated, cold and clinical. Dr. Ryan was able to come out the same day I called and was so gentle and compassionate. It was wonderful to be able to have my whole family with Polly at her final moments, to say proper goodbyes in the comfort of our own home. Dr. Ryan was so patient and kind and said so many nice words to us while she was collecting our mementos. Thank you Dr. Ryan for all you did for us and for our sweet Polly girl!"

"Today, Dr. Sarah helped me get through one of the toughest, most emotional moments in my life--the day I had to kiss my sweet Melody goodbye. Going into this, I was very nervous if I was making the right decision for my girl. Dr. Sarah was very reassuring and comforting, allowing me to trust her professional opinion very quickly. She thoroughly explained everything that was going to happen. She allowed my family and I as much time as we needed. I loved being able to hold, hug, and kiss Melody every step of the way. I am very pleased with Lap of Love and Dr. Sarah! These in home services helped make today a little more bearable."

"Thank you Dr Sarah for your kindness and compassion for Grandpa. I know I made the right, though the most heartbreaking, decision ever. His kidney failure came on suddenly and it hit him really hard. Here is one of my favorite pictures of him."

"Dr. Sarah was incredibly comforting, professional, and supportive during a challenging time for my family and me. Her warmth, kindness, and knowledge allowed us to be fully in the moment with our pet in the final moments.

I experienced safety and reassurance from Dr. Sarah, and I will absolutely recommend her and Lap of Love to any family members or friends should they ever need this service.

Still amazed at how smooth the process the Lap of Love team created was - from the first consultation call to the beautiful follow-up. Having Sarah there on that day gave me peace! I feel like I made the best decision for my pup, and Sarah was a big part of that. Her acknowledge meant the world to me. Thank you so much!!"

“Baron was my first Mini Schnauzer love. He was a rescue who made me fall in love with the breed. He was the most loyal dog I have ever known. He loved participating in dog sports with me (agility, tracking, obedience), and even more, loved just doing fun things with mom, like running at the park and rollerblading. He was a seven-time agility ...
