Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
2/19/2010 - 2/14/2020My angel Wilson was the best companion anyone could ask for. Warm, gentle and friendly. He was a sweetheart. Always happy to greet you. It didn’t matter whether you were a family member or a stranger coming in the door. Wilson greeted you with the same tail wagging enthusiasm flashing that Golden Retriever smile. Wilson was the greatest companion, always in the middle of things, always ready to go for a walk or just to play in the yard, a main attraction of the house. He always kept me in sight like a needy toddler. At the end of the day he would curl up next to me while I relaxed in my easy chair. He made my home feel alive, warm and inviting. I miss him tremendously.
Wilson loved people and other dogs as well. If I used the phrase “go see” Wilson would run to the front door and look out. If someone was coming up the driveway he would run out to meet them and accompany them up to the front door. If a car pulled up he would be at the driver’s side door to greet the visitor. Wilson loved going for long slow walks in the neighborhood. He was so easy to handle that he didn’t need a leash although I kept him on one most of the time. While we walked Wilson almost never wandered away and the few time he did it was only to greet someone standing nearby. It only took a clap of the hands or call his name and he would immediately come back to my side. Wilson was probably the most well known dog in the neighborhood. I think more people knew my dogs name than knew my name.

3/17/2015 - 2/14/2020Zoe came into our family 5 years ago by chance. She was a senior dog that was adopted by my ex-mother-in-law. Three months later my ex-mother-in-law passed away. I took Zoe in only to find her a home, but then realized after two days she was already home. I fell in love with her sweet little smile and gentle nature. I miss her terribly, but every tear I drop is reminder of how much she meant to me and my family.Zoe WalshChicago, IllinoisFebruary 18, 2020
Wallace was there during the hardest parts of my life and I feel that he knew when I needed him the most. He will always be in our hearts and memories. He was the best!Lauren Rowechicago, IllinoisFebruary 14, 2020
6/2/2016Tucker, you were a very special part of our family. I will miss our daily walks in the basement and garage. We seemed to have a deep connection ever since since I laid eyes on you in the shelter in January 2003. I will miss your greetings at the door after a a day of work and I will miss the way you seemed to know my moods and know when I needed you beside me. We all loved you and think about you everyday. You had a strong, fighting spirit, even up until the last week when it was so clear that the cancer had thoroughly weakened you. We love you sweet Tucker. Rest in peace.Valerie ErnstNorth Aurora, IllinoisJune 12, 2016
3/20/2001 - 4/15/2016How does one describe the most precious of gifts? Maybe it starts with describing the quality of life experienced.....Cali lived an incredible life filled with adventure, energy, love and devotion. She came from a long line of bird hunting and instinctually started pointing birds at a young age. She would go on to hunt with her grandpa until she was 13. In the words of my dad, she was one of the best he ever hunted over and truely a pleasure in the field. Although retired from hunting at 13, Cali would go on to run in fields until her last days. Running, sniffing, exploring was a life Cali could never get enough of. The other side of Cali was that of an attentive, loving, snuggling 35# lap dog. As much as Cali could "turn on the huntress", Cali could equally turn up the "cuddler". She was highly intelligent and very insightful especially with those she loved. Cali knew our moods sometimes before we did and would tend to us appropriately. In the house, Cali was very clear about what she wanted, when she wanted it and always grateful to get her way (which, was often).
Cali lived a full, complete and happy life....and in living, she enriched our days, expanded our love beyond anything we ever imagined, and helped us become better humans. We will forever keep her close, knowing that she was a special gift and a part of us that will never be forgotten.
On angels wings my girl....until we meet again.
With love, gratitude and so much love.....your mamas

2/6/2016Ollie was a 13 year old Maltese that we adopted when he was just 10 weeks old. He was not a perfect dog. He had bowlegs, crooked teeth, and a few other imperfections. But he was our dog and a great dog. He provided unconditional love to our family. He was always there for us. He will be missed forever.Joe GoldbergWheaton, IllinoisFebruary 8, 2016
2/5/2016Our Ludo came to us one day in a shelter in Tucson, AZ. We went in for a small dog & came out with a big, scared black lab/pit mix. Over his 15 amazing years, Ludo moved across the country with us. He slept in our beds & on the couch. He played with his feline brother Pepper. He loved long walks & chewing up stuffed animals. I can't put into words how much I'm gonna miss him. My house feels so empty without him. My mom & brother & I feel so lost not having him around. Everything just feels so out of balance... But Lap of Love was wonderful. They made a horrible thing, into something bearable. My family wouldn't have been able to do what we did without Dr. Christie & Lap of Love.
My Ludo had a soul too beautiful & too pure to be gone forever.
We all miss him so much...
