3/20/2004 - 11/6/2019Tootie was our more than beloved son for over half our marriage. We were honored to become his parents when he was only 6 weeks old and broken when we lost him on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the age of 15 1/2.
Being in our house without Tootie's every loving presence is unbearable and yet we have three other pups that need momma and daddy too.
Tootie was the last of our "Original Seven" pups. From there we went up to 11 at our highest rescue number at one time and Tootie just always went with the flow - nothing upset him he just rolled with it. He taught them the routine by example and let everyone know that he was the boss.
For the last 2 years Tootie was with me h24/7 and his presence is missing all around me. Everywhere I go in our house is haunted my Tootie and all that have gone before him. Even trying to be outside - the backyard is missing his old man bark.
Words cannot express our anguish over losing Tootie and the love now gone from our lives.
Play, run and keep those pups in line for me Tootie - I'll see you again one day soon and I can't wait!

3/16/2010 - 10/7/2019Our Nico...the sweetest companion one could ask for! He loved the beach, swimming in the ocean, digging huge holes in the sand, his big brother Dante, playmates at the Village Common, particularly girlfriend Fiona and most of all, mommy and daddy. Pretty much, Nico loved all creatures, human, canine and feline. And all insects that fly had a special place in his heart...butterflies, dragonflies, even the occasional bee all filled his heart with joy!

So hard to say good by to our special hard to understand why he had to be sick. But we are so eternally grateful to have had him in our hearts for 9 1/2 joyful years! So many many snuggles. Thank you, our precious, sweet boy! We love you!

4/13/2008 - 9/24/2019We miss you so much, Nimbus. You were such a sweet kitty with the softest fur. Even though you lost your place as the "baby" of the family when your two human baby sisters came along, you were always so patient with them and waited your turn for cuddles and attention from Mom. I still expect you to jump up on the couch with me every night, and it breaks my heart all over again when I remember you're gone now. We didn't get enough time with you, but I'm glad to know you're not in pain anymore. We'll see you again someday.Sarah AllwardtHolly Springs, North CarolinaSeptember 30, 2019
10/16/2008 - 9/1/2019My buddy, my protector, my most devoted friend. I miss you with every fiber of my soul, but I did what you asked of me with those beautiful loving eyes...I let you go. There are little furry hairs in the corners of the house that brings a sigh whenever I sweep.
I carry your picture with me and kiss you goodnight. I know that you are pain free now. You were a rescue that rescued me, and I just want to say thank you. Thank you for the laughter, the joy of watching your ears bounce when you run, the protection you always provided, but most of all...thank you for the unconditional love. You can never be replaced. Enjoy running around playing with your new found friends on the Rainbow bridge.

11/1/2004 - 8/2/2019My Little Misha. A complete spit fire at 6.5 pounds. I would always tell everyone that if there was a cat fight to put their money on you. Despite all that you always greeted me when i came home from work to get pets and ear scratches and give me kitty nose rubs. I miss your loud meows at all hours of the night when you had to carry your toy around the house. I miss you crawling under the covers and curling up for a nap. Traveling to the mountains won't be the same with you gone. Autumn misses you too. Even though you two were not very close, she still misses your presence.

Rest easy baby girl. and give Neko and KittyKat hugs and kisses for mommy.

11/13/2008 - 8/15/2019On Thursday, August 15, 2019, around 2:00 pm, our sweet Zia passed away peacefully at home with her head cradled gently in my arms. Only six days prior, she'd been the happy, playful dog we'd always known, but with a little cough. On the evening of August 12th, worried about an increase in breathing rate, I brought her to the emergency vet. The next day, she was diagnosed with aggressive sarcoma, and her body quickly deteriorated. The suddenness of her illness has been both painful and consoling.

Jesse and I got her in New Mexico as a 6-week-old puppy. She was our “only child” for four years before becoming a family dog. Although that was not a role she was particularly excited about, she excelled none the less. Isaac (age 6) laments the loss of our dining room "vacuum", and Victor (age 4) misses her most at night, when she would provide security in his bedroom.

True to her labrador nature, she never met a stranger. If she ever went missing, we knew we'd find her on a neighbor's porch, or even inside their house. But there was one time when she was truly missing, and all of our neighbors graciously joined us in the search.

She was my constant art studio companion, as well as my creative muse. I have painted countless images of her. She had the most beautiful angles and was an exceptional model. Her absence in our home and my work space has left a palpable and painful void.

I miss her bright, brown eyes watching me constantly, her wet nose nudging my elbow affectionately, and her big, warm, body hogging our queen-sized bed. The fur she shed will be in our home for years to come, and countless loving memories will be in our hearts forever.

2/28/2010 - 7/21/2019To our dearly beloved, exceptional, light on earth, Isabel.
Our time was so very precious, although cut short. Your soul deeply touched everyone you met.
May you be in a most glorious place, as glorious as your enormous joy, and may we cross paths with you again.

10/5/2004 - 7/26/2019Moose died peacefully alongside his mom and dad of nearly 15 years on Friday, July 26th. Moose was a quirky, funny, furry oddball who loved tennis balls and anything squeaky, especially his little red monster and dragon. Some of his favorite activities included barking at invisible trespassers, playing ball, chasing squirrels and rabbits, smiling, and simply being with his dad. He loved filling his tummy with cheese snacks, carrots, and tomatoes that he stole from the garden. He didn’t mind a good neck scratch or belly rub, but his back was ticklish and completely off-limits. Moose will be missed immensely by his parents and though they will be sad for a very long time, they will be forever grateful that he was a part of their world for so many years. Besides his parents, Moose leaves behind his younger, feline sister, Mollie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give your furry kids an extra dose of love and kisses.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”  - Mary Oliver, Dog Songs
