Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
10/3/2013Our Sassy lived up to her name for many full of energy and love.....always with eyes sparkling and ready to play. Unfortunately, old age comes to us all and at 18 years old, Sassy was quite elderly and suffering from many of the debilitating effects of aging. It was so hard to lose her, but we are so glad she's free from pain and confusion. We'll always treasure the memories.Dianne LaneMorrisville, North CarolinaOctober 3, 2013
9/22/2013 - 9/1/2013Teddy, I'm so happy that you have complete freedom with your body and mind at the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you for teaching me some of the most valuable lessons to be learned. You will always be missed and there's now a huge empty space that you so readily filled.Tamara DormerDurham, North CarolinaSeptember 30, 2013
Tigger Rhoden
9/6/2000 - 9/12/2013Tigger captured our hearts with his loving eyes, and so we adopted him and brought him home to share our lives 13 years ago. He loved his walks and playing "Frisbee" with his "daddy" and always greeted us at the door with a wagging tail upon our returning. Tigger loved it when he could ride along with "daddy" in the pickup. He was a happy dog with a perky personality, capturing everyone's heart, which made it all the sadder when became very ill in the last 2 weeks after developing pancreatitis. Tigger was the love of our life and is a great loss to us and can never be replaced..Roy RhodenPittsboro, North CarolinaSeptember 14, 2013
Gaffer Gamgee
5/7/2001 - 9/13/2013Gaffer was such a sweet friend who never met a person or animal he didn't like. He was always loving and positive, thoughtful and steady. We miss him terribly, but know he is off playing hide and seek with my mother, Ronnie, and chasing sticks and balls.Beth BarbaMebane, North CarolinaSeptember 14, 2013
5/19/2002 - 8/30/2013Deizel, I miss you more than I could ever have imagined. I love you and always will. I miss the smell of your popcorn feet and the look of trust in your eyes. You were the best dog and friend ever. Love you boo.Carla TynerRaleigh, North CarolinaSeptember 2, 2013
8/25/2013We shared a final, tearful goodbye with our beloved little girl on August 25, 2013. Maggie was diagnosed with metastatic cancer just over a year ago. The disease took its toll on her body, but it couldn’t break her mind or her spirit. She will be remembered always for her fierce loyalty, determination, and unconditional love. Maggie loved going for rides in the car, chasing critters in the backyard, taking naps on the sofa, and hiding her bones in the most peculiar places. She took her role as protector very seriously… we are almost certain she could hear a UPS truck from a mile away! Thank you, Magpie, for giving us so much love, happiness, and laughter. We feel so incredibly fortunate to have been blessed with your companionship for so many years. We will never forget you. You will live forever in our hearts and our memories. Rest in peace little monkey.Natalie and BrianKnightdale, North CarolinaAugust 27, 2013
11/5/2001 - 7/27/2013Blessed are those who knew the love of my sweet Maggie. Maggie was born on November 5th, 2001 in Asheboro, North Carolina. She was an enthusiastic dog, full of human-like personality, who enjoyed a happy life surrounded by many friends and family who loved and spoiled her as much as she did them. Counting licks was at times a competition to see who she loved more! She had the ability to show compassion in times of need and brought joy into our lives on daily basis. She learned to say “I love you” and even when I asked “who’s your Mommy!?” she answered me with a loud bark! She was great at high fives and even high tens. In fact, she could really jump high, especially if the reward was a stick or a tasty treat. Other favorite pastimes of Maggie’s were snuggling with her Leroy Bunny (who was the only stuffed animal she didn’t chew up!), going for car rides with the windows all the way down, helping Mommy keep the kitchen floor clean- when I said “oops!” it was her clue to turn on her doggy vacuum, swimming in the lake or ocean, catching buggies who dare come near her, going for long walks and runs, visiting the horses down the country road, exploring nature and the mountains, playing fetch with a ball- especially a squeaky one, cuddling on the couch with Mommy, MooMoo sandwiches, laying in the warmth of the sunlight coming through a window, capturing & shaking balloons, licking the remains from a peanut butter jar (even if it meant getting her nose stuck inside!), ear & belly rubs, and who could forget by far one of her most favorites----> opening Christmas presents! Yes- she was quite the talented dog!

My Maggie Moo’s always had the curiosity of a cat, from 8 weeks old and drinking water out from under the Christmas tree through the final days of her life when she decided even with painful legs (from bone cancer) that she would wander off around the neighborhood to give her Mommy quite the scare. She was “my favorite” and one of the best dogs ever, even despite her love of nature and not listening once the call of the wild called to her! Yes, she loved being outside, which is why there was no question about where to let her take the final breaths of life. We laid Maggie to rest out back behind our house while she was surrounded by her Mommy, Daddy, loving friends and favorite pet sitter. I’m so thankful for Dana at Lap of Love; I couldn’t imagine having said goodbye to my precious girl any other way. And most importantly, Maggie wouldn’t have either and that is how she knew we loved her to the very end.

Memories of my sweet Mags will be cherished forever and she will always live in my heart until that glorious day when I will get to hug her again on the Rainbow Bridge. I love you bubba and think about you every day. You truly are my favorite! 
