Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Last month my husband and I had to make the most difficult decision for our sweet boy Tigger. We contacted Lap of Love because they would come to our home and make such a heart breaking time the most comfortable for Tigger. Dr. Heather took her time with us asking questions about Tigger and his life with us. She was so very compassionate and understanding. The whole experience was calming to Tigger and to us. He passed in his favorite bed at home. No cold and stressful vet's office. I highly recommend Dr. Heather. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch, DVM"I want to express my sincere gratitude for the way Dr. Sally handled Buddy's passing with me and my family. I dreaded putting him in a car and returning him to the vet for euthanasia. I wanted to be with him in the comfort and familiarity of our home. Dr. Sally and Lap of Love allowed me to do that, and I am eternally grateful. He was my faithful companion and family member for 11 incredible years, and like all dog owners, I only wish it could have been longer. I miss him terribly, but I know I made the correct and compassionate decision. Dr. Sally brought peace, calm and solace to me and my family. I appreciate that the process was not rushed, Dr. Sally answered all of our questions, and Buddy was treated in a dignified manner the whole time. Words will never convey my true appreciation for what Dr. Sally did. Lap of Love and all dog owners faced with the same difficult decision are blessed to have Dr. Sally."Matthew WilkinsLynn, MassachusettsAugust 13, 2018Buddy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Green, DVM"Emmie was my first cat and lived to almost 20 years. I was beside myself when her health rapidly declined as the vet I used for years had recently retired. I dreaded the thought of having to put her in the carrier and driving her to the vet's office especially a the new one. Thankfully while being stuck in a Thunderstorm I met a women who recommended Lap of Love. I cannot say enough about how blessed I was to have been recommended to Lap of Love. Dr. Katie Green was beyond our expectations as we were dreading the day we had to say goodbye to Little Emmie. Dr. Kristine was professional, kind, and so empathetic to the situation. We didn’t feel rushed. I am so grateful for this experience being his final moments. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Kovach, DVM"I phoned Lap of Love at about 9AM on a Saturday. Dr Mary arrived at my house by 11AM. When Dr Mary entered my house she brought a soft confident air with her. She explained the process in detail, and examined the discharge papers I had from the IndyVet Emergency Hospital. She let me know nothing would be rushed and that I could dictate the pace. Then we went into the room where Artie (RT) was resting. Dr. Mary, a friend who was there to support me, and I gathered around him.

He was quite miserable which was breaking my heart. RT had been my husbands all time favorite cat and he also somehow became my all time favorite as well. I knew Artie was depending on me to help him to stop hurting.

The process was quiet, respectful and went at a gentle pace. There was no scrambling to get an unwilling cat into a crate. No hated car ride. No fear of a strange place. Artie went peacefully to sleep surrounded by people who gently helped him over the threshold. He knew I loved him and he was not afraid.

Dr. Mary was gentle, compassionate, and competent. Her kind reassurances staved off any guilt or remorse after. I am so grateful this service is available and that such a compassionate vet as Dr. Mary came to my house in a time of great need. I will call of Lap of Love the next time I need this service, and I have already recommended them to several of my friends. Thank you Dr. Mary."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Summer was a special part of our family. This decision was extremely difficult for our family as we were hoping for a turn around of Summer's health. When Dr. Heather saw our girl she immediately called out to "Sum-Sum ", her nickname and we knew this was the right decision. Dr. Heather was professional, sympathetic, understanding, patient and caring. She took great care of Summer as well as all of us. Because of the option they provide, Summer got to see us last in the comfort of her home. Special people are put on this earth to do special jobs and Dr. Heather is one of those people. She made it a little less painful and helped us get through the process. Thank you Dr. Heather and all of the people that work at Lap of Love for doing what you do."Family SeidelFarmingville, NYAugust 11, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra Healy, DVM"Dr. Kendra assisted us with an in home euthanasia of our beloved cat Phillip. My husband and I adored Phillip, so we were devastated when we found out he had a tumor in his pancreas that was spreading. We enjoyed every second with him and when it was time, we were lucky to have come in contact with Dr. Kendra. She drove two hours on a Sunday afternoon to help us. This was a hard situation, but she explained everything and made us comfortable. Phillip was able to pass in his own home, with dignity, and in loving arms. While she was here, she gave us a paw print and a clip of Phillip's handsome black and white fur that we will cherish. It's been two weeks since her visit and we also just received a thoughtful sympathy card in the mail. She has gone above and beyond for us and we appreciate her continued thoughtfulness. Words can not describe how grateful we are to have had Dr. Kendra help us through this difficult situation."Maggie MayElizabethtown, KentuckyAugust 11, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"I don't know where to start...Dr. Amanda and Lap of Love were SO WONDERFUL!!! My dearest J.D. came into our lives 15 years ago and had given us so much love, devotion, joy, fun, exercise and most of all his gracious soul. There will be an empty void in our hearts and lives without this sweet boy by our side, but we all know that he is with his maker in a body full of life.
Thank you Dr. Amanda for your help with this transition. You made it so wonderful and peaceful. We thank you for your caring thoughts and the aid. The clay paw print was amazing with the book you had left behind. As stated, I would recommend Lap of Love to anyone and everyone that would want the best for their loving animal.

Thank you again and blessing to you and to my loving J.D....God Bless"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"When we first learned about Lap of Love from our veterinarian, we hoped it would be a good option for our family and our pet. We were a bit nervous about it but as our 17-year-old Maine Coon kitty, Cat King Coal, continued to decline, we thought it could be the best choice. The other two were not attractive for us: watching him suffer or taking him to a veterinary clinic (which has always been a significant source of stress for him, even for well checkups). When I called Lap of Love, the woman who answered my call was incredibly helpful and was empathetic and kind as she helped me understand the services they offer and what choices we would want to consider. She helped make it as simple as it could be at such a painful time. We scheduled the date and time (that, in itself was excruciating for me) and we spent time with Cat King Coal (aka Angel Kitty). My child, 7, began to draw pictures of her pet, even though she didn't really understand what pet hospice was (we gave her a little information ahead of time).
Then, the day came. We were anxious and by that time, our kitty was hugged up in a corner of a bathroom, barely drinking water (though we had been dropper feeding and watering him). The doorbell rang and there stood a tall, lovely young woman. She introduced herself as Dr. Keri Morgan and we welcomed her in and helped her to the space where our kitty was holed up. She took time to talk with me and my husband (who is a dentist and worked in a veterinary clinic while in dental school) and got an even more complete medical history and list of recent quality of life events for our kitty. Then, she took time alone with our guy to check his medical condition. When she emerged from the room, she kindly and gently explained to us what she was seeing and hearing from him and what the behaviors we had been witnessing meant for him and his well-being. Her explanation and her obvious concern for us and our kitty helped us to make the only decision we could humanely make -- to allow him to go. Dr. Morgan talked to our little girl and explained to her in a child-friendly way what was happening. and why it was the gentle choice for our gentle giant of a kitty. Though it was difficult for all of us and there were tears (Dr. Morgan had tears in her eyes, too), it was much easier and more comfortable than other options for our kitty and our family. Dr. Morgan was an angel that day for us and she has continued to stay in touch with us and has written beautiful messages to us about our kitty. We are grateful for the kindness and the love she shared with us."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Dr. Bates gently guided our Socs over The Rainbow Bridge on July 10, 2018. Socs was only 12, but she developed an inoperable colon cancer and there was nothing that could be done to alleviate her suffering.
He was gentle to Socs and compassionate to our family.
We never expected to be calling Dr. Bates again so soon. He came & helped our Polly in October, and our Jessicat 4 1/2 years ago.
If Lap of Love had not said they were sending Dr. Bates, we would have requested him. He speaks to the animals and is very attentive to them. We cannot say enough about Dr. Bates."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cathy Berquist, DVM"Dr. Cathy was very patient with explaining everything to my child who is 10 yrs old. My child had more strength than me. It was a calm experience and very personalized. My child was honored she was able to assist in carrying out our Macmillan on the stretcher. He was wrapped in a nicer soft blanket and a purple blanket under his head.
He was treated with respect. In less then a week Dr. Cathy was very thoughtful to write us a card.
It was very thoughtful. I know it is a tough position for the veterinarians to have to put our loved pets in a better place , then to see all the emotions of us humans. However, I could not have been more comforted by having this done in our home. It takes special people that took on this career and are very good .it is a week later and I picked up Macmillan from vets at the same time he was taken out of his misery. the presentation of the urn is beautiful ,"
