I'm so grateful for Dr. Jodie's support and guidance during one of the toughest moments for our family. Our beloved buddy, Haku, took a very sudden turn for the worst on a Friday night after very recently receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. Due to the timing, our only options were emergency vets or in-home services. When we contacted Lap of Love, we knew our poor boy only had a short time left with us, and we couldn't imagine spending his last hours in a waiting room. He was a very anxious pup, and was always uncomfortable around strangers and in unfamiliar environments, and we didn't want him to be anxious and uncomfortable in those last few precious moments. Thanks to Dr. Jodie and everyone at Lap of Love, instead of spending hours in a waiting room, we were able to take Haku on one last car ride with his sister, a trip to his grandparents backyard, and one last short walk, right before we snuggled him on the living room floor while he basked in the sunlight. When Dr. Jodie arrived, she assured us that she could always turn around, and nothing obligated her, or us, to follow through with the plan, but in her professional opinion we had made the right call. It was so reassuring to us after making a very quick decision the night before. She was so patient and gentle with our boy, especially considering his anxious tendencies and behaviors. She knew exactly when to make space for tears, laughter, and all the memories in-between. We are so grateful to have her comfort and support for our sweet Haku, and our entire family as we navigated his loss. Lap of Love is undoubtably committed to supporting you in the moments before, during and after the heartbreak of losing a fur baby.
