Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Burns, DVM"Dr. Rachel was amazing and we thank her for her compassion and time. We had no time limit, no distractions, no worrying if we were holding her up. Most of all, Tak was comfortable, happy and within his warm bed with mommy and daddy surrounding him. Dr. Rachel was incredible in guiding us through the process. She’s an angel to parents and their fur babies in helping them cross over in peace. Blessings."Mellanee HarmonSimsbury, ConnecticutJune 14, 2019Tak's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"Dr. Annie was wonderful and compassionate. She made the whole process humane and as bearable as possible. We didn't hear about this service before, but wish we did for our previous rescues. Having your pet's euthanasia at home is some much easier on the pet and the owner.

Thank you again, Dr. Annie"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"Thank you, Dr. Carrie and Lap of Love, with helping us say goodbye to our beautiful tuxedo girl, Sylvia. We got her from my mother who took her in when her original owner couldn't keep her in his new living situation. She immediately became attached to my son and was the most loving cat companion. The last few weeks had been very stressful for her as her health declined rapidly and the repeated visits to the vet became too much for her to bear. I am so glad we had Dr. Carrie come to our home. It really was the most peaceful & humane passing we could give sweet Sylvia. Dr. Carrie was so caring & kind, taking her time with each step to talk us through everything. What an amazing gift to be able to do this at home. Thank you again for your patient treatment of us all, Dr. Carrie!"ARIANA KARSTBALLWIN, MissouriJune 13, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"Dr. Morgan could not have been more perfect!! Her demeanor was so calm and non-judgemental. She assured us that what we were doing was in the best interest of our sweet Buddy. He had lived a wonderful life for 14 years. Dr. Morgan summed it up perfectly at the end saying "Buddy is free!"
We have been dreading this decision for so many reasons, and Lap of Love and Dr. Morgan made this an act of love. I cannot thank you enough for your love, care and support during this difficult time.
I would highly recommend this for ANYONE who needs to face this decision. From the phone call to set up the appointment to the Dr.'s visit, we felt the empathy."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"After his diagnosis with a terminal illness and several months of successful symptom management, our beloved Axel Foley, a member of our family for 13 years, passed on peacefully to the next great dog park where he will be united with many of his life-long friends. This transition was assisted with the compassionate, empathetic and professional care of Dr. Brad and Lisa. We thank them profoundly for their assistance and comfort through this difficult, but necessary for Axel's sake, transition. We will always cherish the fondness and love we shared with Axel during his life-long journey.

The decisions we faced during this phase weren't easy but after our relationship with these wonderful folks, we know they were the right ones and the best for Axel.

We sincerely Thank You!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"I would highly recommend Lap of Love to any pet parent.
Compassionate, empathetic from the initial contact to the very end and beyond.
Dr. Brad was so reassuring and comforting to our family through this difficult event.
Our "Gentle Giant" Jake left us peacefully in his own bed surrounded by his family in our home.
When the time comes that we are faced with this difficult decision again, it is a relief to us
knowing Lap of Love will be there to help and comfort us.

"Thank you" to a very special group of people."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rene Butler, DVM"My 13 year old cat Harriet had been diagnosed with lymphoma and had eight good months with us post-diagnosis. She started declining and we made the tough decision to humanely end her suffering. Harriet had always had a rough time at the vet, and we knew that we wanted to find a vet who could come to our house so she could be in the comfort of her own surroundings when she made that transition.

Dr. Rene Butler's warm, caring, and compassionate demeanor made that very difficult day a little bit easier. She thoroughly explained the procedure beforehand, gave Harriet some love and treats, and then administered the sedative. She explained that the sedative would put our kitty in a twilight sleep similar to a person going under prior to anesthesia. Harriet then chose to curl up in a spot near the window (where she would lie in the sun every afternoon), relaxed, and went to sleep. Dr. Rene then administered the second drug. Harriet quickly and peacefully slipped away as I stroked her fur and told her how much I loved her. Dr. Rene made a paw print impression and gave us a lock of fur as keepsakes. These were especially loved and appreciated by our four-year-old human daughter (who was not present but got to say her goodbyes beforehand). Dr. Rene gave us as much time as we needed with Harriet, and then she lovingly placed Harriet in a basket and covered her with a blanket. The entire procedure was peaceful, compassionate, and loving. I am so grateful for Dr. Rene and the love and care she showed us and Harriet."

What you do is important, very important. You are excellent at it. Your approach, your vibe, the way you spoke to us ... all respectful and caring. You helped us through a very hard thing. You helped Ni-ya tah-ni-nyan (Walks with visible breath) take her big journey. You helped a LOT.

My daughters and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. My other four legged babies appreciate you too. Blessings to you and yours for all your days.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Allie Prokop, DVM"Dr. Allie Prokop was very caring and sympathetic with our family and what we were going through saying goodbye to Missy. She talked to us without rushing asking us to tell her all about Missy and our last 17 years we had with her. Dr. Allie was very heartfelt and caring and was a great comfort to us in the few minutes we had left with Missy and I'm very grateful of Dr. Allie and all the memories we have in our hearts of the last 17 years with Missy."Brandon LeitchMaryville, TennesseeJune 12, 2019Missy's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cathy Berquist, DVM"Dr. Cathy was wonderful. This was such a hard decision but we knew that it was the kindest thing we could do. I am so thankful that Bella got to go outside and listen to the birds as she peacefully passed away rather than having the stress of going to the vet...a place that she hated. Dr. Cathy was so gentle with her and treated her with so much respect. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Shannon Skevakis, DVM"I cannot say enough good things about the Lap of Love service that was provided to us from beginning, to the oh so sad end.
Although this was one of the most painful experiences of our lives; I could not imagine going through it any differently.
Lap of Love 'held our hand' through the entire process; providing much valuable information about how to know when its "really time."
They helped us understand that end of life care for a pet is different than that of humans, who have more medical and hospital type options to help sustain life.
We cant do that for our precious pets so we must ....with God's strength.....decide on a time when we need to let our pet pass along to relieve their suffering.
All the staff and Dr. Shannon Skevakis were so caring & empathetic and loving; even though they never met me or our pet. Dr. Skevakis let us have as much time as we needed on that final day to provide our precious Chelsea the peaceful; love filled passing with her family all around.
If one has to go through this heart breaking experience I highly suggest letting Lap of Love help you through it."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady, DVM"Over the years I have helped transition six loyal and loving canine family members. However, it has always been at the veterinarian's clinic. The clinic has always been compassionate and caring but you have to walk through the reception area passing by other clients and their healthy animal friends at a time when you just would probably like to be alone. Also, transporting a large dog who may not be very mobile is difficult as well as stressful for the dog.

I met Dr. Lauren Cassady at a business meeting in our town and that is when I first became acquainted with Lap of Love. The concept of in home hospice and euthanasia intrigued me. So when it came time for my Jenny, a 19 year old Akita/Husky mix, to be relieved of pain and to join my other canine companions, my first thought was of Dr. Lauren.

The entire staff from the person who answered the phone to Dr. Lauren exhibited professionalism and compassion. They were very accommodating to my schedule. You can tell that the work they do is a calling for them. I highly recommend Dr. Lauren and Lap of Love."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rene Butler, DVM"Dr. Rene & the staff at Lap of Love....We are so incredibly grateful for your help and support on the day we said goodbye to our beloved pet. It was the hardest decision we've ever made. Dr. Rene you helped us get through it, so kind, so compassionate, so thoughtful and professional. Thank you for the long hug at the very end. It truly meant so much to me. I needed a hug in that moment badly. I would recommend Lap of Love to anyone going through this hard time. My sweet bulldog went in the most peaceful way possible, eating treats in his bed, with us rubbing his belly and telling him how much we loved him.
Dr. Rene was the best, we were so lucky to have her in our home.
Sincerely, The Ferrante family"
