Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Johnson"What a wonderful gift we were able to give our dear, loyal pet Brody, who abhorred going to the vet, especially at the end. Dr. Elizabeth was SO caring and gentle with all of us. Thank you, thank you!"KAREN BARATYPeachtree CityAugust 12, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"Dr. Ashley was a joy to be with during this painful time. We're so grateful for her compassionate, gentle, and loving presence. She explained everything we should expect and even advised us on our burial plans. We are deeply touched by her patience and kindness, which just made us feel so certain about the tough decision we were faced with. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"I would personally like to thank Dr. Ashley for the incredible work she does, God created special people like her to do what she does on a daily basis. The compassion she shared when I had to put my beloved 19 yr/old kitty to sleep was beyond anything I could of imagined. She was patient, kind, and showed the utmost respect at this difficult time. I couldn't bring myself to take him to our vet clinic to have this done, he would of been so scared in his last moments. That is why I decided an at home euthanasia was the best choice for him and my family. Again, thank you so much for helping me, my family and our beloved baby cross the rainbow bridge. I will always be grateful."Kimberly DixonMariettaJuly 27, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Johnson"With one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make, we were dreading this day. We only had a day or two notice that our precious baby, Brewsky, had developed an extremely aggressive cancer. And after tough deliberation, we knew the best thing we could do for him was to let him go. We opted to say goodbye in our home, where he felt most comfortable. He always hated going to the vet, and the stress/loudness of it would just be too much of an anxious environment. We called Lap of Love on Friday and they were at our home the next morning as scheduled.

Dr. Elizabeth was so sweet. She immediately greeted us with love and understanding, and allowed us as much time as we needed with him before saying goodbye. Throughout, she continued to reassure us that we were doing the best thing for him. Although this was so difficult, her words did help make the process a little more comforting. The sedation was fairly quick and being able to hold him and comfort him, knowing he could feel our love...was something I'll never forget. Our fur babies trust us to protect them, and in that moment, as heartbreaking as it was, I feel he knew this was our way of protecting him from suffering. After saying goodbye, Dr. Elizabeth brought in a small basket with a big fluffy white blanket (almost like a cloud), that we wrapped him up in...what a perfect visual of sending him on his way up to puppy heaven. <3 I did expect this, but oh was it so special.

Brewsky was so unique and dear to us and he deserved to go out in grace, which you made possible. We will forever cherish those last moments with him, knowing he was no longer in pain and at peace.

What you do is incredible and we truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard"Owning so many pets over the years, I have had to make the gut wrenching decision far too many times. I've laid on the floor in an exam room, emergency rooms and had vets come to my home. When our Sammy could no longer fight his renal failure and CHF, I knew I couldn't let him struggle any longer, I called a mobile vet that had come to our home before. He was at a veterinarian conference out of town for the week. So I got online and I saw Dr. Dani's video. It instantly told me this was who I wanted. They scheduled me for the next day. The staff on the phone were so comforting and caring. When Dr. Jo Millard showed up, she carried a small medical bag and a basket with soft blankets. She got on the bed with Sammy and I. I was able to hold him the entire time and she let me be with him for what seemed like forever. I did not want to let him go. But she was so patient. She stayed out of the room and gave us our private time. When I was ready, I was able to place him in the little basket and wrap him in the plush blankets. She even had a little pillow for him. I cannot say enough great things about Lap of Love. Dr. Jo has no idea the comfort she gave me. I will forever be grateful to her."Sheree ColtonAtlantaJuly 7, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"I never expected the process of saying goodbye to my Brady to be easy. My boys both hate going to the vet so I decided that we would allow Brady to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully here at home. The process, while extremely heartbreaking, was quite peaceful. We had as much time as we wanted to say goodbye and I believe choosing to do it at our home has allowed our other dog to understand that his brother is no longer physically here.

Dr. Ashley's professionalism, and genuine care and compassion for Brady, his brother Bailey as well as my husband and me helped to ease our pain and convinced me that we made the right decision choosing Lap of Love. Any person who chooses to do this on a daily basis must truly be an angel and I believe that's exactly what Dr. Ashley is."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"My hands were shaking when I called Laps of Love on June 25, but I knew it was the right thing to do. The veterinary nurse I spoke to helped me to understand a little better the condition of my pet and the chances for a quality life. We spent our last night with our sweet Angel (a 164 pound Great Dane) singing to her and rubbing her and giving her water. She could no longer stand or go outside, and we knew it was time. When Dr. Ashley arrived, she helped us to say goodbye and reminded us of all the love that we had shared with our sweet Angel. Saying goodbye to Angel was the hardest thing we ever had to do, but Dr. Ashley and Laps of Love made it easier. They treated her with such dignity. After a few days, I read the booklet that she left with us and in it there was a letter to the family, the letter was really encouraging and it was coincidentally signed "Angel." Thank you so much for helping us through such a difficult time and following up with us."Sharon RicksTyroneJuly 3, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady"Dr Lauren Cassady, with Lap of Love, has been helping us for the last month with our cat, Dobby, who has terminal cancer. Now, she is also helping us with our dog, Cody, whom we just found out this week also has a very large liver mass. She has constantly checked in on Dobby over the last month and is helping us to make sure that she is having the best quality of life as long as possible. She was also very quick to reach out and answer all questions she could about Cody as soon as she her the news. As hard as this has been, especially going through it with 2 very loved pets, Lauren has really been there to make it as easy as possible, to answer all our questions, and to help keep us focused on making medical decisions that are best for each of their situations. It is a very unfortunate situation that has lead us to Lauren, but we are very grateful to have meet her and to have her help us through this difficult time. I highly recommend Dr Cassady and Lap of Love!"Dottie ShipskieRoswellJuly 2, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady"All of the employees of Lap of Love are the most caring and compassionate people I have ever known. They truly understand the hurt a pet parent goes through when a fur baby passes. I will forever be grateful to the Lap of Love staff and especially for the Doctor, she was so compassionate and didn't laugh at me when I song the lollipop song to my sweet girl. I don't have the words that would truly describe how much I appreciate the Doctor and Staff of Lap of Love."Kathy JohnsonConleyJune 25, 2019Keylala Ann's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"I am so grateful for the service that Lap of Love provides. The realization that it may be time to say goodbye to our fur born was a tough one. I found it nearly impossible to make the phone call to Lap of Love. I was answered with so much compassion from Dr. Danya. She was patient, compassionate, factual, and reassuring. Dr. Danya took the time to hear all the details about my sweet boy. She was very supportive and comforting, and I began to I feel at peace with quite possibly the most emotional decision I've ever made. Dr. Ashley was so kind and compassionate with our sweet Shimon, but also with my husband and I. She was calm and kind. I really appreciate that she took the time to take an interest in our dog. She asked kind, thoughtful questions that led us to share some sweet memories of Shimon when he was in his prime. She knowingly guided us through the process and intuitively took our cues for when to proceed. Ashley helped make a very, very emotionally draining process as easy as possible. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to accompany my fur babe to his last sleep in the comfort of our home."Rikki & Amit OfekSmyrnaJune 20, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard"We made the hardest decision of our lives the other day. We had to say our last "see ya later" to our baby boy Mason. He will be so missed, but we feel at ease because of the compassion from the folks at Lap of Love. Dr. Jo was able to come the same day we called. She explained everything to us and took her time making sure my husband and I were comfortable and especially Mason. We knew we had made the right decision albeit the hardest decision.

My good friend left a wonderful message for me : " Mason was only a part of your life for a short time, but you were his WHOLE life" I know he knows how much he was loved and I thank everyone at Lap of Love for guiding us through this."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"Dr. Ashley Payne could not have been more compassionate and caring when she came to help my Bonnie go over the Rainbow Bridge. I would recommend to anyone who has an older pet to consider using Lap of Love."Juanita WatsonAustellJune 19, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"Dr Ashley was our Guide through this tough and emotional time. She was so patient and loving with us, never making us feel rushed. We shared stories with her and cried until we were ready. She loved on Bogey like he was her own and we couldn't appreciate that more. We highly recommend this company and everything it has to offer. Thank you again Dr Ashley for being so kind to all of us."DuluthJune 15, 2019Bogey's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady"Over the years I have helped transition six loyal and loving canine family members. However, it has always been at the veterinarian's clinic. The clinic has always been compassionate and caring but you have to walk through the reception area passing by other clients and their healthy animal friends at a time when you just would probably like to be alone. Also, transporting a large dog who may not be very mobile is difficult as well as stressful for the dog.

I met Dr. Lauren Cassady at a business meeting in our town and that is when I first became acquainted with Lap of Love. The concept of in home hospice and euthanasia intrigued me. So when it came time for my Jenny, a 19 year old Akita/Husky mix, to be relieved of pain and to join my other canine companions, my first thought was of Dr. Lauren.

The entire staff from the person who answered the phone to Dr. Lauren exhibited professionalism and compassion. They were very accommodating to my schedule. You can tell that the work they do is a calling for them. I highly recommend Dr. Lauren and Lap of Love."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard"Dr Millard was a true Godsend when we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let out 16 yr old kitty, Ig go. From calling to make the appointment early on Monday morning to finally having the courage to make an appointment Monday night her and her office were kind, patient and understanding.
At our home, she didn’t rush us and give us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes, before and after his passing. She was so respectful and loving to us and our Cat, we cant thank her enough."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard"After my cat Verdandi's last vet visit, I knew it was time to make a decision. I had never experienced this in my adult life. Of course I had pets growing up, but my parents were the ones who had to sometimes make these difficult decisions on behalf of our entire family. How do you prepare for the death of a loved one? All I could feel was sadness and grief, but I knew the time had come to read the Lap of Love pamphlet given to me by our veterinarian.

From the first phone call to Lap of Love, to the moment Dr. Jo left our home, I was beyond impressed with the level of care and compassion we received during such a painful time. I didn't know what to expect. I'd never seen any living creature transition from life to death, let alone a family member. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle it and be strong for my sweet kitty's transition. On top of that, I was nervous to invite a stranger into my home when I was already in such a vulnerable state. My guard was down because all I could think about was saying goodbye.

Once Dr. Jo arrived, she came into our family room and asked questions about Verdandi and her symptoms. I was confused as to why she was asking because she was there to end my cat's life; what was the point of this? I was ready to say goodbye and didn't want to continue to hope that something magical would happen in this moment to bring us all peace through our grief. But something magical DID happen. Something I wasn't expecting or even knew I needed.

Dr. Jo asked about Verdandi's symptoms because she told us that she will never end a life unless it is absolutely necessary. As I listened to her speak, I began to realize this person I'd only just met 10 minutes prior was giving me the peace I'd been desperately seeking over the last several days. I was afraid I was making the wrong decision; that we could run more tests and maybe we didn't need to end her life at all. But Dr. Jo's words put my mind at ease. That was the very first time I was truly able to be at peace with this decision and say goodbye.

Words can't express how thankful I am to Dr. Jo. She was very warm, compassionate and caring. It felt like I'd always known her and that Verdandi knew her too. She felt like a friend offering strength when I was falling apart. There were no surprises during Verdandi's transition as Dr. Jo prepared us before the medicines were administered. She stayed close to us the entire time, walking us through every single moment until Verdandi's passing. We never felt rushed or pressured during the process. I was a sobbing mess (much like I am now writing this) and Dr. Jo offered to be a tier of support whenever we needed her to be. She gave us all so many hugs and it felt like she was just meant to be there. I wasn't expecting to smile throughout the entire process, but Dr. Jo managed to make that happen naturally through her kind disposition. She shared stories with us about a couple of her personal losses which were very touching. I wish I had met this person under different circumstances because she was absolutely wonderful.

I can't imagine how difficult it must be to work with grieving families each week, but I'm so grateful for the service Dr. Jo and Lap of Love provide in helping our loved ones with a peaceful transition. In a world filled with cruelty and negligence toward humans and animals, I'm thankful to know that there's at least one person out there who has genuine love and compassion for both. Thank you, Dr. Jo."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"Dr. Ashley made a tough time much easier for my family when I had to say goodnight to my sweet Stella. Dr. Ashley was sweet and compassionate, she explained the process very well and let us take the time we needed to say goodbye without rushing us. I would recommend Dr. Ashley and the rest of the Lap of Love team for anyone who has to make this difficult choice. Saying goodbye at home was so much more comfortable for my girl and was easier on us, as well."Alexis HAtlantaJune 5, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"Bailey, our horse of a chocolate lab, joined our family twelve years ago as a spritely one-year-old. He quickly took over our lives, not only through his 100 lb mass, but through his 100 lbs of drool, kisses and loud barks. He never met a stranger and won over many a 'OMG that dog is scary big' new friend. When it was time to give him back to Heaven, Lap of Love was recommended to us, and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful passing. Dr. Ashley was so compassionate and gentle, and made it easier for my husband and I, as well as our two-legged children, to say goodbye. Thank you for loving Bailey as much as we do."Jennifer DempseyDunwoodyJune 3, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard"When it became apparent that our beloved Zoe was incurably ill with a brain process, I asked my vet the best way to proceed
With end of life care including euthanasia. She referred me to Lap of Love. When the time came I called
toSchedule the procedure. The staff was very kind and sensitive and guided me through their process. We were given an appointment with Dr. Jo Millard. She came to the house as I felt doing it here in the comfort of her home/yard would be the best way to help Zoe transition. Dr. Jo was very thorough in explaining the process and took her time allowing us to mentally and emotionally prepare. I knew I was doing the right thing when Zoe licked Dr. Jo’s hand when she administered the first medication as if to say thank you. As sad and as difficult as this has been, I am forever grateful that this service exist and I wouldn’t have wanted it done any other way"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard"I'm so grateful that we used lap of love for our beloved dog, Oliver. The experience of choosing when to put your dog down is excruciatingly difficult. Oliver was our first baby, and will forever be in our hearts. We were so thankful to find a service that comes to our home, and helped Oliver at a place where he was most comfortable.

Dr. Jo has a very calming presence. She placed us at ease, and we easily cried in front of her. I'll forever be filled with gratitude."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"Where to begin....
This is such a painful time. We’re losing a family member and the grief is immense. Dr. Ashley is such a kindred, gentle soul. Her love for Oliver was felt immediately and you could feel a relief as she entered the room. The process itself was painful but she made it so comforting and sweet. I didn't know there was a better way to say goodbye to my beloved pet but Lap of Love showed me the way. I highly recommend this service to any animal lover having to say “see you later” to their fur babies."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"My baby girl, Emma, was growing tired and I knew it. I saw it in her face and then she told me in her own way, while I had prayed about it many times. I knew how fortunate I was to have this little lady for as long as I had (16+); if she could talk I swear she would have finished my sentences. She was the BEST. Knowing the end was near, and not wanting it to get to the point of pain and suffering, I happened to hear about Lap of Love listening to the Bert Show one morning. I was ugly crying in my car, but I knew it was the sign I needed to make the call myself; so, I did... The staff was fantastic in helping with the appointment and Dr. Ashley couldn't have been more amazing in helping explain and ease us through a very difficult time. Somehow, it was easier to let my girl go knowing she was under such great care, and it was on OUR terms. Everything was SO peaceful. We should all be so lucky, and I believe this is one of the greatest gifts I could have given my girl. Love you, little Emma Jem, and know that you're now in a better place and resting easy!"Abby SnauwaertSmyrnaMay 29, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"My husband and I recently lost both of our cherished Westies in a one month time frame. The first one, Stella, succumbed to cancer while her older sister Chloe died of a broken heart (and ultimately very old age). While it was a very tough decision in both cases, having the Dr. Ashley come to our house was a complete God Send. Dr. Ashley was so sympathetic, gentle and made the experience as peaceful as it possibly could have been. She listened to our stories about the dogs and provided us with the comfort we needed. If you are able to use lap of Love, I highly recommend it. They not only came to the house, they arranged for all of details to make this as easy on us as possible. Being with the girls in our house during their final moments is something I will cherish forever.

Dr. Ashley, I truly can't thank you enough. You were a bright spot in a dark time.

With love,

Allison and Eric Jacobs
