Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"We lost our beloved dog Chip on 1/1/2020. He was a 12 yr old Husky/Lab mix who made me a dog lover. His illness was sudden, unexpected and we were in shock with the news. Dr Devlin came to our home on New Years Day to make his death a beautiful experience for our family. Her kindness and compassion were incredible. She didn't rush the process or us. She allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye and get through this horrific day. She kept us informed every step of the way and I know for certain that he was comfortable and in our arms when he breathed his last breath. It was beautiful. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for this person who helped our family. She is an angel and I will be forever grateful to her. Thank you Dr Devlin."Michelle LaveryBillericaMay 29, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch"Dear Doctor Sally,
Almost a month has passed and the tears have slowly faded enough for me to write you a well deserved thank you note. On behalf of my wife and our two children we wanted to thank you for making a day of saying goodbye to both of our elderly and ill dogs as acceptable as can be. Never in my mind did I think it was going to be as emotionally trying as it was. I could never imagine trying to accomplish this undesirable deed in a veterinary office. Your professionalism and caring and gently soothing demeanor was outstanding. How you managed to keep us calm and informed as the process progressed is beyond me. Totally professional touches right down to loading the stretcher in the car. Thank you for helping us through this most difficult and challenging feat. Bella and Lola’s ashes were returned in the most beautiful decorative hardwood box with and engraved plaque. Another classy surprise. Thank you again."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch"I can't thank Dr Sally enough for assisting in my saying goodbye to my sweet boy,Oscar. My cat was so afraid of vet visits and I couldn't bring him there for his last day with me. Dr Sally was so patient and kind during the whole visit. She made it a beautiful peaceful experience. She kindly followed up with me the following day and I really appreciated that. Again, many, many thanks to Dr Sally Lynch>"Anne CoutureWest RoxburyMay 12, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch"Dr. Sally was absolutely wonderful as we put our sweet family dog of 14 years, Mr. McDuff down in our home. I had children in the home and she was wonderful at explaining each step of the process to the entire family. At the end she cut off some of McDuff's hair for both children, made a paw print for them and allowed them to be as involved as they wanted. It was such a hard day, but she was sweet and gentle with out sweet pup and our family.
She later sent my kids a book and a paw with rainbow ink. She was so thoughtful and sweet. I appreciate this service and being able to be with our dog in our home as he passed over the rainbow bridge."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"While it has taken me awhile to get to preparing this testimonial, it is in no way an indication of how grateful I am for Dr. Mary Devlin's thoughtful and perfectly attuned care. I had been dreaded the end of Shanti's life for as long as I can remember, and worrying about how I would ever be able to muster the courage and wisdom to do it when it needed to be done. Having Dr. Devlin come to our home, and acknowledge her sense that it was indeed time, was an incredibly gift. She was sensitive to our needs, and most of all to making this as painless and peaceful a process as possible. Her sense of humor, connecting with us as lovers of pitbulls, and the central place of her own pup in her heart we all touchstones upon which we could meet. In conversation with a friend the other day, she reminded me that choosing to say goodbye in our living room, eliminated a whole level of trauma and anxiety that Shanti would have experienced if we had to take her to the Vet. I hadn't even thought of that. While it was wrenching to let go of Shanti, companion and travel buddy of 13+ years, this was the best possible way to usher her sweet soul onward."Ellen GrabinerCambridgeApril 1, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jeff Carpenter"Lap of Love is truly an Amazing company. Dr Jeff could not have been anymore compassionate. He was so respectful of my daughters and my feelings. He walked us through the whole procedure and did not do anything until he made sure we were ready. This was a horrible day for us having to let go of our little girl, but if we had to let her go this was the best scenerio we could have asked for. Sophia had absolutely no anxiety and passed away peacefully with me holding her in my arms and my girls and I talking to her and loving her until she took her last breath. Thank you Dr Jeff for allowing our girl to cross the rainbow bridge in the most peaceful way possible. If I have any control over it, I will never let another fur baby go without the help of Lap of Love."Christine MurrayWeymouthMarch 31, 2020Sophia Serenity's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"March 5,2020 my family and I had to say goodbye to our 16 yr. old beagle Baron. Truly one of the toughest moments for all of us. He grew up with my sons and was such an important part of our family. Thanks to lap of love and Dr. Mary Devlin Baron was able to pass peacefully in his own bed surrounded by his family. Dr. Devlin was wonderful. She took great care to make sure Baron was comfortable and let us take as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. We are still grieving and miss him dearly but want to say thanks for making a hard time a little easier."Lori LockheadEast BostonMarch 30, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch"Sally was amazing. My dog was dying of very aggressive mouth cancer and I was falling apart. She was comforting in the right way, explained things clinically in the right way, and sympathized with us in the right way. I couldn't speak more highly of her, I really valued her time and also felt lucky she was the vet there with us on that difficult day. I have been so sad and she was so compassionate and easy to be around. Thank you Sally!"Audrianna OliveiraMaldenMarch 29, 2020Kingston's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"My cat Skunky was diagnosed with lymphoma a couple years ago. She absolutely detested car rides, so my husband and I knew that when the time came, we were going to look into having her put to sleep at home where she could be calm, comfortable, and with us. We were so lucky to find Lap of Love and Dr. Mary Devlin. This was my first time going through this with a pet, and I knew it was going to be so difficult. Dr. Mary ensured that everything we could control was in order, and allowed us to give Skunky the peaceful passing we hoped for her. Dr. Mary's warmth, care, and incredibly calm and comforting demeanor ensured the whole process went as smoothly as possible. I couldn't imagine a better person to help guide a pet owner through such a difficult time. We are heartbroken at losing our sweet Skunky, but are incredibly grateful for Dr. Mary's services, and her care and compassion during such a heartbreaking event."Ashley CoteMethuenMarch 25, 2020

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"We were heartbroken when our cat was diagnosed with kidney cancer and began a rapid decline. Our vet recommended Lap of Love, and that was absolutely the right decision for us. We had previously had a dog euthanized at the vet's office and a cat euthanized at the 24/7 emergency clinic, and while those events were handled with great compassion, our pets had to make the trips to those facilities, and they were taken away from us to be sedated before we could be with them for their final moments. This time, I knew that if we could be at home and stay with our beloved cat throughout the whole process, it would be much easier on him and on us. I rescheduled the appointment three times, though, before I could go through with it. On each call, the staff at Lap of Love were absolutely amazing--so understanding, patient, and helpful. And when Dr. Mary came over, she was just as wonderful. She struck the right balance of professionalism and sensitivity, treating all of us with great gentleness and managing to give our boy the most peaceful ending possible. He never even let out a wimper when she gave him the first injection--he was nestled contentedly in my lap, slurping up some gravy, and seemed not to feel a thing. A couple of days later, Dr. Mary was kind enough to follow up with an email, and she later sent us a lovely note in the mail. I would wholeheartedly recommend her--and Lap of Love-- to anyone having to say goodbye to a furry companion."Kathryn DahlWatertownMarch 21, 2020

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"We had lost our big guy Tucker 4 years ago and we had the process done at the vets. But this time I wanted it to be a little less sterile for Abby and to be done at home with Jaxson present. When Tucker passed, it was as if he just left Abby behind and she never knew where he went. This time it would be different. A lifelong friend had recommended Lap of Love! Bottom line they were fantastic!
Dr Mary came to the house as scheduled and was as nice and professional as could be.
Jaxson was able to be with us and Abby in her final moments.
Dr Mary was so gentle and pleasant during the whole process!
As awful a time as it is putting a dog to sleep, Dr Mary made it less so.
These guys were great!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Devlin"We are incredibly thankful for the folks at Lap of Love. They were wonderful walking us through each step, starting weeks before we had to let our boy go. They provided a supportive ear, reading material to help us decide when the right time was, and were flexible accommodating Jake-Gelato's fluctuating timeline.

Dr. Mary was so supportive when the time arrived. She was kind, heartfelt and patient with us. It was clear she truly loves animals based on the kindness she showed our beloved dog. It was one of our saddest moments, but I'm grateful for this type of in home service Lap of Love offers."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch"When we know our Nubia's time was near, we asked Dr. Sally Lynch to help us with home hospice. We wanted to give her a peaceful, natural, unassisted death at home. Dr. Sally provided us with the medications to keep her comfortable and pain free. Although our purpose was only her comfort and not longevity, we were amazed that Nubia graced us with her presence for 5 more months. Nubia was engaged with her human and canine family right up until the very end, and she passed away peacefully in her sleep. It was all that we could have hoped for and we are eternally grateful to Dr. Sally and Lap of Love for the exquisitely sensitive care provided."Michelle HolmesCambridgeMarch 2, 2020
