Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"I cannot say how thankful I am to Dr. Christina for the compassion she showed during our time of grief. I had to say goodbye to my beautiful 3 yr old Dane, because of cancer. At such a devastating time for me and my children, she was kind, allowed us our time to love on her, and made certain that even with COVID-19, we felt comfortable and that Mazara was comfortable too. The peace of mind knowing that Mazara was in the comfort of her family, at her home, while we stroked her head and told her how much she was loved, it is truly hard to express the appreciation. Dr. Christina's bedside manner, calm energy, and true love for animals could be felt the entire time she was here. Thank you for allowing us to avoid the stress of a vet office and giving us our final moments with Mazara here in our home.

From our hearts,
Shae and family"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis"Dana - thank you so much for coming to our home and allowing us to give my sweet girl a peaceful goodbye. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"What a peaceful loving thing dr. Christina did for me and my sweet black lab. We had to put our baby to sleep during the covid 19 virus. She was able to do this in a safe way for all, but most of all , I was able to have my sweet baby’s head in my lap loving on him and whispering that I loved him the entire time. He just simply went to sleep with my tears and voice in his ears. ... no pain. It is such a hard thing to do but Dr. Christina made it as sweet and peaceful as possible. I just wish she could come back and do that for me when I am ready to go.
Thank you so much...Marcia"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Betsy King"Dr. Betsy was extraordinarily compassionate during her visit. I cannot imagine a more respectful end of life for our beloved Buddy, our constant companion for 15 years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."David HoodRaleighApril 28, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"This testimonial is months overdue but I have meant to do it in order to thank Lap of Love for making Leah's last moments happen on her terms. Last November, Dr. Christina helped Leah to pass peacefully, savoring her favorite treats. Dr. C was so kind, accommodating, gentle, and thorough. She shared of herself personally to make us more at ease. Her suggestions for how to help Leah with some extra pain medication that morning before her arrival were on the mark. I am so grateful that even though our dog was in pain we could no longer manage, Lap of Love allowed us to let her go with no more stress, carefree at last."Marlys RayDurhamApril 23, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Thank you so much Lap of Love and Dr. Christina for making a sad, heart wrenching situation as easy as you could. Thank you for your care and compassion when helping our KitKat. I am beyond grateful for your service. My KitKat did not like going to the Vet’s office so I was so pleased to find out a service like this existed. It put my heart at ease knowing that he would not be in an office that upset him and agitated him when it was time to let him go. He went quietly and peacefully thanks to you. I will be forever appreciative of your help."Shannon JonesGarnerApril 19, 2020Kitkat's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"When the time came to make the gut-wrenching decision to let my sweet Sadie go, I wanted immediate help and didn't want to stress her out by taking into the vet. I also knew that I would be an emotional wreck and didn't want to have to deal with vet techs, check-ins, waiting, etc. We did some quick Google searches and found Lap of Love and I am so glad we did. Dr. Christina was kind, gentle and honest. She explained the process all while being understanding of the very emotional toll this decision was having on me and my family. Dr. Christina treated Sadie with such dignity. She talked very softly to her. She petted her. She talked to her. Sadie was able to pass away in my arms on our back porch laying in her bed, listening to the birds chirping. Losing a pet is never easy, but the privacy and intimacy of the in-home euthanasia is so worth it. I also didn't realize at the time how much I appreciated every detail being handled. From her transport, to her cremation plans, to her pick-up, etc. Everything was handled for me so I didn't have to make stressful decisions when I was already upset. I would highly recommend this service and this team."Jennifer KendallRaleighApril 13, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Dr. Christina was amazing - we called her on a Sunday afternoon knowing that it was time. She stayed in touch with us that afternoon and came out after dinner to help Duke over the Rainbow Bridge. We gathered in the backyard in the long grass with a breeze, which Duke loved, and where everyone could be around him given social distancing. Dr. Christina was sensitive to Duke's sore areas when she sedated him, and waited and petted him until it was time. She knew how much we all loved him and waited until we were ready. She explained everything and took as good care of the family as she did of Duke. Being able to give Duke a proper goodbye at home was so peaceful - we would highly recommend Dr. Christina and Lap of Love if you need them."Cam KellyMorrisvilleApril 12, 2020Duke's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"My husband and I are long-time pet owners who have called Lap of Love several times over the years. Dr. Christina recently helped us say goodbye to our aging cat, Maya. Her compassionate care and exceptional professionalism gave us comfort that we were doing the right thing. I am so grateful to be able to rely on their expertise at such a difficult time."Kathy RestivoApeApril 5, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis"In January we had to say goodbye to my friend of 17 years. My snuggle bug Bianca had some declining health over the previous few months, and when she stopped eating we knew it was time. My vet had recommended this service to us, as I had always tried to avoid bringing Bianca to the vet due to her extreme car sickness and anxiety (think vomit and other fluids everywhere, and I did not want my beloved cat's last memories of us kidnapping her to the Vet. I'm to so grateful to Dr. Lewis and for this service, as it allowed us to say goodbye with her snuggling with us in her favorite snuggle spot."Elyse RiouxRaleighMarch 30, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"I am very grateful to Dr. Christina Hampton who helped my foster, Toby, leave this world in peace in a place where he felt safe and loved. Dr. Christina was so kind and caring. She clearly loves animals and only wants the best for each of them. She was a great support to me as well as I had never lost a pet before Toby. She helped me understand that I was making the right decision at the right time for Toby. Thank you, Lap of Love and Dr. Christina, for making this difficult time one I can remember with sadness but also serenity."Kathryn AllenApexMarch 28, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"I recommend this service to anyone who has to make the difficult decision to part with an ailing pet. Dr. Christina was gentle, kind, and compassionate. She explained the process in detail and made sure we had all of the information we needed. Most importantly, she provided assurance that we were making the right decision for our beloved Sampson -- a peaceful and pain-free passing."David BoazRaleighMarch 23, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis"Dr. Dana was amazing from my first phone contact until she left with my beloved Sandy. Sandy was a very healthy, loving, protective and strong dog for 17 years! She was a terrier mix from the animal shelter, and one of my greatest blessings. She had been struggling with age-related issues, and in order to bring an end to her challenges, Dr. Dana came to our home and provided the most gentle, dignified, respectful and beautiful passing any animal could ever experience. Sandy was wrapped in a blanket and placed on a stretcher to provide her with a safe and secure transport. Dr. Dana delivered Sandy to the crematory personnel who provided a water cremation, and I now have her ashes to treasure. I miss my sweet Sandy so much, but when her time came, she was handled with the utmost care and genuine concern. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Dana!"Jean WhitfieldRaleighMarch 14, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"My buddy Speckles has traveled all over, never caring where as long as he was with me. He is greatly missed but having Lap of Love give us peaceful last moments was a blessing. Dr. Christina is an angel and helped me let him go. ( over the rainbow bridge) Reading the poem book and end of life information reassured me that the time was near, no more suffering with his from long term health issues. Fourteen years of love, RIP Speckles forever in our hearts."Elizabeth HouckZebulonMarch 11, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Our Gabby was a sweet, loving, loyal miniature schnauzer. I'll never forget the day we picked her up, 14 years ago, from the breeder. She had a champion blood line but to us, she was our sweet Gabby. She was by my husband's side every day, all day long and snuggled with me when I came home from work. She went on vacations with us and anywhere pets were allowed. All of our family pictures had Gabby front and center. She was special. But as we aged, so did she. As she became sick, we watched her change rapidly and knew we had a decision to make. She paced and paced the floor at night. She would stand in a corner or get lost in the house. It was heartbreaking to watch our smart girl slip away from us. We prayed for strength and courage to find a way to help her. I found out about Lap of Love thru our Veterinarian as we wanted to help her in our home. Dr. Christina came to our house and in the most calm and loving way, she helped our sweet Gabby and helped us say goodbye. The care and respect for our feelings was reassuring but the kindness for our precious baby was something we will never forget. Dr. Christina talked us thru each step and took her time, no rushing. Gabby came home in my husband's arms and said goodbye in his arms, in the end. I hope this testimonial will reassure you that Lap of Love is indeed a special place."Ronnie and Lee FerrellDurhamMarch 9, 2020

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"This is my sweet , loving, feisty, soulful little man Bobby . I had the honor of becoming Bobs mama after my sister died just over 3 years ago. I never knew one could become so attached to a fur baby but man I was wrong! Bobby crossed the Rainbow Bridge making his life’s journey complete but leaving me with a huge whole in my heart. Bob is now in heaven with my sister and brother in law. RIP my sweet wise old man. I love you and will miss you so much little man.
I want to thank Dr Christine for making a very sad passing so easy on Bobby and his mom!!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Finding the courage to let our Gracie go was one of the hardest challenges. Lap of Love made every part of it easier. They listened carefully to what we needed, applied no pressure, and gave ample time for our decision. Dr. Christina is gentle and caring, and we felt confident in her and comforted by her. Our lovely cat had been feral and although she became a loving girl, she could not be handled easily. Our fear was that her last moments would be traumatic, but Dr Christina helped us navigate getting her some advance medication. We appreciate this service so much as it is respectful of both owners and pets."Sharon Boyle-WoodsDURHAMFebruary 25, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis"The whole process with Lap of Love was incredible and in the end quite beautiful.

I googled "pet hospice" and within minutes was connected with care coordinator Melanie who shared a very useful page on their website about how to know when it was time. After reading thru it I realized that my sweet girl had been trying to tell me for quite awhile that she was struggling. But, because she remained cheerful, I allowed myself to ignore everything.

I am very grateful to Lap of Love for the guidance and I greatly appreciated the kindness and professionalism of Dr. Dana. She provided gentle, loving care during the whole process and in the days that followed with a card and email. "Extraordinary" is the best word to describe it."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Betsy King"I cannot recommend this service highly enough. Losing my sweet girl at 8.5 was the most awful thing ever and at first I was scared to have this process done at home. But it was so much better for my Sabra. She was relaxed and happy and really loved Dr. Betsy. I know this time will come again one day, and I will be using Lap of Love again when that day comes. Please consider this service as opposed to bringing your baby into the vet. It's so much more peaceful for them and it really is a beautiful process during a time when nothing seems beautiful at all. Thank you, Dr. Betsy, for your kindness during this whole process."Samantha ChauveauChapel HillFebruary 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"I can't thank Dr. Christina and Lap of Love enough for all their thoughtfulness and acts of tenderness as I said good by to my adorable Bentley. Saying good by to my sweet Bentley was so hard. In my heart I knew it was time to let him go as he was no longer the playful, goofy and loving boy he'd been for almost 17 years. I'm so thankful to Dr. Christina for coming to my home so that I could say good by to Bentley in the comfort of his home surrounded by his 2 Yorkie siblings. Thank you Dr. Christina and Lap of Love for helping me through one of the hardest days I've ever had. I'll always remember your many acts of kindness."Terry MullenaxDURHAM, NC 27713February 17, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Our family member Cheyenne, was a beautiful RED Siberian Husky. She was my everything. When she developed a growth under her right front leg, we thought we had it under control. But, when we returned from our small Christmas vacation this year, the mass had returned and within a few weeks had tripled in size. We contacted Lap of Love, and they were SO understanding. Doctor Christina came out, and was completley helpful, she made it so much easier for us as a family. She explained everything, and took her time, making this hard time easier for us. We thank Lap of Love for their hospitality, and professionalism, and respect for our hard time. Thank you Lap of Love!!! And the memorial items they leave with us are great.
