Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Callie was our first baby and I loved her so much. I truly tried to help her and ease her pain. The countless appointments and procedures stressed her out and I could tell the more we did, the more she hated leaving me. I didn't realize how bad it was until I started going through past videos and pictures... seeing the difference from February to May... she wasn't the same. My heart still hurts, the jingle of her collar isn't roaming throughout the house and she isn't there perched on our bed when I walk in....she is missed every minute. I know with time, I will heal.

Dr. Sara is a saint and a remarkable human being to be able to deal with this process. I truly admire her strength and grace because that was honestly the hardest thing I had to decide and I am still feeling guilt. I couldn't imagine doing this any other way, especially considering all the restrictions due to COVID19 when trying to care for your animals.

Again, thank you Dr. Sara for being here with us, for sharing that precious moment and for providing the comfort we needed. You were amazing and really helped at every step. We appreciate the tone and the tenderness you gave to our boys. I really can't say anything bad about this experience, except the obvious of letting my baby go..."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Dr. Barlow was a calm and compassionate presence in what was easily the worst day of my families pet ownership journey. My 17 year old kitty could barely get off the bed anymore and I was heartbroken at the idea of taking him for covid-19 curbside drop off. I can not recommend this type of crossing for your own beloved family member enough. Dr. Barlow was professional, personable, on time and spent time to ensure we understood the process and our questions were answered. She even had coloring books about loving your pets for the kids. I'm so grateful to her it's hard to put into words. My Stewie was able to pass peacefully on my bed instead of being in terror of the carrier/car/vets office and that is priceless."Amy KrahnBlue bellMay 19, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Molly was 18.5 years when she passed on May 15th. There are no words to express how Macy and I will miss you. Saying goodbye was so hard but we knew you were tired and couldn’t go on anymore. Dr Barlow was kind and gentle and helped you pass peacefully. I’ll miss taking you on walks and I know Macy will miss going on walks with you and running in the fields chasing sticks. Macy and I were so fortunate to have you in our lives. You will always be in our hearts."Barb WalshCoatesvilleMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"On 5/8/20, in the midst of a global pandemic, we had to put our beloved old man J.R. to rest. The only thing that made the unbearable tolerable was the service provided by Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. Dr. Sara came to our home and helped J.R. cross over pain free in the comfort of his favorite spot by the fireplace. I can't imagine having had to do it any other way. He lived a long life of 20 years and will be missed by so many. While we certainly feel the void, we are so grateful we were able to help him in this way and that this service of compassion was available to us. I cannot recommend Lap of Love enough. Dr. Sara was an incredible comfort during the most difficult time. Thank you."Brooke SchiavonePerkiomenvilleMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Dr Sara arrived completely prepared to assist in whatever way we needed to provide a peaceful transition for Harbor. This was a time of difficult choices. We know and felt Dr Sara was there to help us focus on the love and bond we had with Harbor.
It was still very hard, but we were not alone in our mourning. Thank you so much Dr Sara."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"It is always so hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Dr. Sara and everyone we spoke to at Lap of Love was so compassionate and assured us that we had made the right decision for our sweet boy Apollo. It meant so much to us for Apollo’s journey over the rainbow bridge to be in the comfort of his home. Even during the Covid19 pandemic Dr. Sara made that happen for us. She was so patient and truly understanding of what we were going through. I don’t think there is a better way to say goodbye and I don’t think I would do it any other way. Thank you Dr. Sara and Lap of Love. Your services are truly appreciated.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"We very much appreciated having Dr. Sara Barlowe help our beloved dog, Snowball, cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Sara was kind, gentle, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She made friends with Snowball and our other dog, Lulu and gained their trust. She took the time needed to explain everything to us and to allow Snowball to pass peacefully.

We are grateful to her professionalism and appreciative that Lap of Love enabled her to euthanize Snowball in our yard, where Snowball spent many wonderful hours."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne"Dr. Jessica was wonderful in assisting our beautiful girl Bounder to her next adventure. This was the hardest thing I had to do but Dr. Jessica and Lap of Love handled Bounder crossing the Rainbow Bridge with dignity and respect. Everything was explained to us in detail and she allowed our private time to say our final goodbyes. Their understanding made things slightly easier for us. Dr. Jessica and Lap of Love will always be in our thoughts. Thank you."Cheryl KriegerLanghorneMay 10, 2020Bounder's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"I called Lap of Love when we realized we had to say goodbye to our beloved 5-year-old dog River. We knew we wanted her to be outside in her favorite place when she finally went. Even though we are in the middle of a global pandemic, Lap of Love is still doing home visits and providing the highest quality veterinary hospice and euthanasia services. Thank you so much for accommodating us and our wishes.

I know that we are blessed to have helped River pass away under controlled circumstances. Dr. Sara made the whole process as easy, calm, and pleasant as it could possibly have been. She even brought a little piece of chocolate for River to try, which was an unexpectedly cute and funny moment.

Everyone I spoke with at Lap of Love was wonderful, even after I changed our appointment time twice. They helped me make hard decisions and were there for us afterwards. The world needs more people like Dr. Sara and her colleagues. Thank you again for your compassion and kindness during the hardest moments of my life."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Lap of Love and their veterinarians and support staff are
incredible. Mr. Biggs became ill during the coronavirus pandemic
Along with all the other anxieties and issues connected with this
event, I had nightmares thinking Biggs might not be able to pass
peacefully over the rainbow bridge in his own home. Lap of Love
was there when needed and made an incredibly difficult time a
little less so. I cannot say enough kind words about Dr. Sara
and how she helped me and Biggs through the process.

Thank you all at Lap of Love for the kind deeds you perform."

Having at-home euthanasia is so much more comforting at a terrible time. I can't say enough about her caring attitude and solicitousness."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne"Dr. Wilbourne assisted our family with such kindness and grace on this hard day. With the COVID-19 pandemic, she arrived at our doorstep fully equipped with a mask and gloves. During the entire process, she was so patient and empathetic towards our family. She examined KC and felt a tumor towards his GI area that we were not aware of. Her discovery of the extending tumor and reassurance that it is KC's time (he was approximately 19 years old, incontinent, and extremely lethargic) made the process much easier. We could not have asked for a better person or doctor to have with us! Thank you, Dr. Wilbourne!"Katlyn BuchysLanghorneApril 13, 2020Kc's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Our beloved Yorkie, Birdie crossed the Rainbow Bridge last Friday. She had been diagnosed with adrenal cancer 7 months ago.
In the last three weeks of her life, she lost her sight and that really did her in.
Lap of Love veterinarian, Dr Sara Barlow came to our home. She could not have been more caring. Her manner is gentle and kind.
Dr. Barlow made a heartbreaking time feel like we were genuinely giving Birdie a gift. Gentle helping her to a better place. Peacefully, in her favorite spot on the sofa.
I would absolutely recommend Lap of Love and Dr. Sara Barlow for help at a hard time of life."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Today we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Lucy. This was a day we dreaded. Our hearts were broken.
Dr. Sara showed so much compassion to all of us. She was gentle and kind and enabled us to have the most peaceful last minutes possible. We were able to tell Lucy how much we loved her as she gently slipped away. This was a difficult experience made bearable because of her professional and caring nature. Thank you!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne"I want to send a special thank you to Dr. Jessica. Her warmth and compassion were just what we needed on this difficult day. Even though I knew it was time as Toto wasn't eating and couldn't stand on her own, I still questioned my decision and Dr. Jessica knew that I was struggling and reassured me that it was time and Toto was ready. It's obvious that she loves animals - she treated Toto as if she were her own, getting down next to her and comforting her. Thank you, Dr. Jessica, for making Toto's last moments with us so peaceful and special. I will be forever grateful."Edie ErhardtDublinMarch 12, 2020Toto's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne"My precious Nellie passed peacefully at home on February 11.

Everyone at Lap of Love was so kind and understanding. I even changed my appointment a couple of times because I was not ready. However, in the end, Nellie was more prepared for this than me.

Dr. Jessica was wonderful! Her gentle nature and kindness, compassion, the care she took with me and Nellie and the biggest hug when Nellie was gone.

Thank you, Lap of Love. Thank you Dr. Jessica.

Nellie, I love you and miss you!!! Your sister, Nivia, misses you too. She's sorry about the last fight she had with you last week. Until we meet again . . ."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne"We had to say goodbye to my sweet 12yr old Australian Shepherd Copper today. It was by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Dr Jessica was so kind and compassionate to the situation. She explained everything to us and supported us in that the decision was the right one to make at this time. We had searched for home euthanasia because we wanted the least amount of stress for our beloved Copper and to surround him with those that loved him the most. As hard as it was to say goodbye it was the best way to say goodbye. ❤️ She took good care and support to all of us in this heart wrenching time."Sherry ReichardtBucksJanuary 20, 2020
