Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"We knew our cat Inky was not going to make it long after we took him home from the vet. We thought we would have longer with him, but when his chest cavity began refilling with fluid from the lymphoma, we knew he would soon be in pain. We put in a request overnight and Carly started texting us at 5:50 in the morning on Mardi Gras Day. She came out for 7 before all her other appointments.

The comfort, care and concern she gave us was second to none. She helped us through what has been the hardest transition Sherry and I have ever been through. Inky died in Sherry's arms the way he loved to be cradled. He passed so peacefully. He was a black cat with a white spot on his chest and Carly was so accommodating to cut both the black and white hair for his lock of love.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

(the picture of him shows how laid back he is, basking in the warm sun--I hope that's how his spirit feels forever)."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"I called Dr.Carly with Lap of Love, and she made the trip out on a Sunday evening. She arrived and explained everything to me. She examined him and agreed that it was the best for him. The process was tough for me, but yet I felt at ease. I got to say goodbye to my boy while he was no longer in pain. I would like to personally thank Dr. Carly and the Lap of Love for making it such a good experience for such a sad day for me."Scotty CanezaroPort Allen, LouisianaFebruary 27, 2017Shadow's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"I'm so grateful that Dr. Carly was able to come to my home when it was time to let me 18 year old cat Xavier go. She spoke to me on the phone to help me talk through my decision, and suggested we make an appointment a few days later. Dr. Carly is one of my cats' regular vets, so she was familiar with his history and knew how much I loved him. She also knew that he had been sick for awhile and that it was likely his time.

This experience gave me a lot of peace over the loss of my beloved boy. Dr. Carly was caring and gentle to Xavier, and she also took really good care of me."

I don't know how you do what you do everyday but we're so grateful to you. It was so much more peaceful and graceful having you come to our home. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Dr. Carly was so very compassionate. She helped us have some very much quality time with Luke while she helped him to relax. I have and will recommend Lap of Love to all my friends and family. Dr Carly even reached out to us the next day to see how we were doing and to let us know she is there for us if we needed. I did not know that this was available. Luke was to large and too weak for us to take him to the vet office. So nice to be able to say our goodbyes at home with just us there with him. Thank you so much Dr. Carly."Nancy and Mark BrownBaton Rouge, LouisianaSeptember 11, 2016Luke's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"We will be forever grateful to Dr. Carly for giving our sweet angel Max the comfort, dignity and peace that he deserved in his final moments with us. I never knew about this type of service and am so thankful that a friend referred me to her. Max was always scared to go to the vet, so the thought of him having his final moments there was just too much for me to handle. For close to 12 years he was my constant companion and best friend. Thanks to Dr. Carly, my sweetpea was able to pass peacefully in his own home, sitting on our laps, as we gently pet him and told him how much we loved him. I thank God for the blessing of Dr. Carly. It takes a special kind of person to do this kind of work. She is kind, patient, and has a sincere love for animals that was evident. Thank you for the compassion you showed to us, and to our sweet Max."Lisa RivetRosedale, LouisianaSeptember 1, 2016
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"This was the best experience possible during this sad time in our family. Dr. Carly was so wonderful with my Selah as she peacefully brought her into death. She was also wonderful with my children as she explained each step and gave us the space and time we needed to say good bye. We are all heart broken over losing our dog but I couldn't have asked for a more dignified way for her to leave us. She died surrounded by the ones that have always loved her and cared for and in her home where she was comfortable. That is more than I could have ever hoped for."Angela RobersonCentral, LouisianaAugust 2, 2016
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"This was the single hardest decision that I've ever had weighing on my shoulders. Noah was my best friend, he was around before I met my husband, before I had children, my first apartment. I would sneak him into work with me and he would play in a little area under my desk :) He was my sweet old man. After almost 15 years it was his time to go but it was SO hard to let go. I think I've broken down many times every single day since. Dr. Carly was just SO sweet and gentle. My sweet guy barely knew she was there. She was so calming and genuinely caring.

This would have been a horrible experience and awful memory if I would have had to take him to the vet's office, completely stressed out. Instead we were in the quiet, he was resting sweetly in my arms.

I'm forever grateful for Dr. Carly's help getting through this process."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Almost one year ago, our pup had been diagnosed with kidney disease. Because of her advanced age, our goal became one of making her remaining days with us comfortable, joyful, and well-loved. We also made the decision that should the time come that we had to make a decision, we would use the local Lap of Love vet. It was easy for us, we felt we owed it to a beloved family member that had been with us for over 16 years. We had almost one more year with our girl. About two months before we said good-bye, I had my first contact with Dr. Carly Billeaudeau by phone. She was very kind, listening to our story, agreeing that it sounded like we were getting close to the end, telling me to call when we were ready. We enjoyed a little more time with our girl, Tori. On Saturday evening she became very ill, and began to rapidly decline. I emailed Dr. Carly on Sunday, she responded with a phone call. Again, she listened to my story through the tears with so much patience. We chose a date and time for the following Tuesday, June 28th, unless she took a turn for the worse, and then Dr. Carly would find a way to make herself available on Monday. Our girl continued to decline, we knew it was time. Tuesday morning Dr. Carly arrived on time. She had the utmost patience, explaining what was going to happen, telling me she wouldn't do anything until we were ready. She lovingly reached out and introduced herself to our girl. She had such kind words to say, telling us how pretty our girl was, how obvious the love and bond my girl and I shared. As she administered the different drugs, she spoke with a very soothing voice, to both myself and Tori. Once Tori was gone, she gave us some time with her. When she returned to the house, she was carrying a lovely bed with a pillow and blanket. She helped me place Tori in the bed, gave me time to take a couple of last photos, placed a blanket over her. And for me, the kindest, most caring thing she could do, was when she placed Tori on the passenger front seat with her. The respect that she showed for our dear family member knew no bounds. I knew that losing my girl would be very difficult. As a stay at home mom, then housewife, she and I were daily companions for 16.5 years. She slept in our bed. While this has been heartbreaking, I will forever be thankful for the Lap of Love organization for giving us the opportunity to say good-bye in our home. Tori was terrified of the vet's office, especially after a couple of hospital stays the last year of her life. That she could transition in the comfort of her own home, on my lap, means the world to me!!!! And I will forever be thankful for the blessing that Dr. Carly was at such a difficult time. I don't know how you do it, Dr. Carly, but thank you!!! Thank you for your actions on that day, thank you for your follow up emails. Words just cannot express how much I appreciate your helping us through such a heartbreaking ordeal. And thank you for reminding me that letting her go was an act of love too."Tracy HanksPride, LouisianaJuly 2, 2016

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"In a few hours, it will have been a week since we said goodbye to our sweet girl June and the least difficult part of the past seven days was the actual euthanasia. And we have Dr. Carly to thank. I don't know how it could have been more peaceful, more loving, more kind or more compassionate. Her quiet but strong presence gave us the courage we needed to be calm and focused. My husband Michael and I are forever grateful to her for making June's last moments with us a truly comforting memory. Dr. Carly will always have a special place in our hearts."Sarah KrackeBaton Rouge, LouisianaMay 16, 2016
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Dr. Carly has such a soothing nature about her. She truly understands what you go through to make such a heart-wrenching decision. I was a nervous wreck and sobbing but Dr. Carly was my rock. She was strong when I couldn't be and offered me support and comfort. I knew when I spoke with Dr. Carly for the first time over the phone that I could trust her to help me make the right decision for my beloved Pewter and for that I will always be grateful."Mary DillingBaton Rouge, LouisianaMarch 5, 2016Pewter's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"I am forever grateful to Dr. Carly for taking such great care of my best friend, Pepper. My parents surprised me when I was 15 years old with a puppy, who spent the next fourteen years by my side. She was there for every major life event and even moved with me across the country for a one-year internship. Learning that she had cancer was devastating, as was witnessing her quick decline one evening. The idea of bringing her to a clinic to say goodbye didn't seem fair. I googled at-home pet euthanasia in Baton Rouge and came across Dr. Carly. Because of Dr. Carly, I was able to have a peaceful goodbye. Pep passed in her own bed in her home surrounded by love. It has been tough adjusting without Pep. At the same time, I believe it has been easier to heal knowing she passed away peacefully in her bed. If you're reading this, wondering what to do when this unfortunate decision must be made, call Dr. Carly. Your loved one will be in the best hands."Shannon DehghanpirBaton Rouge, LouisianaFebruary 26, 2016
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"I know Dr. Carly personally as a kind and caring friend. When it came time to say goodbye to Coco, our sweet Airedale terrier, I couldn't stomach loading her into the car. She was in so much pain, and her last few car trips were so stressful for her that she refused to go near a vehicle. Dr. Carly came to our house on a nice, sunny afternoon. Coco was laying in the grass in the backyard and greeted Dr. Carly warmly. She went over what was going to happen and she eased our concerns. My husband and I told her stories of Coco's adventures as the sedative took effect. When the final injection was given, Coco left us peacefully, in her favorite place, with her favorite people. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Dr. Carly's proficiency, calmness, and compassion made a difficult time bearable. There is a void in our home without our sweet girl, but I have solace in her peaceful and intimate passing. I highly recommend Dr. Carly and Lap of Love to anyone with an ailing or elderly pet."Angela RippetoeBaton Rouge, LouisianaJanuary 12, 2016

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"If I could have in some way created my perfect idea of person to arrive in our home and help us say goodbye to a family member and stop their pain, I couldn't have done as good as the reality that we got!
Our girl Daphne was with us over 15 years, this was a really tough time in our family. Seeing her spiral and her pain on top of saying goodbye, BRUTAL!
Dr. Carly came in and somehow managed to lift us up, succinctly explain every step while actually working. She insisted that we stay where we were, laying on each side of our Daphne and she gently hopped around us and worked at odd angles, expertly.
I cannot rave enough about Dr. Carly. I posted on my Facebook and was surprised at how many comments were "I wish we'd known about this" type. I hope we can let more people know about Dr Carly and Laps of Love.
We still miss our girl but could not ask for a more wonderful vet & human being to help us. An immeasurable amount of gratitude we hold for Dr. Carly."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Dr. Carly was such a blessing during the passing of our sweet kitty Muffin. Muffin was with us for 16 years and saying goodbye to her was one of the hardest days of my life. As her health declined over the past year, I dreaded the day we would have to say goodbye. When the time came, I felt so relieved to find someone who would come to our home so it would not be traumatic for Muffin. From the moment we met her, Dr. Carly was compassionate, caring and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye. I will be forever grateful for her compassion and help during this difficult time and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone in need."Claire CrownoverSaint Gabriel, LouisianaNovember 9, 2015
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Words can never describe the kindness and compassion Dr. Carly bestowed upon our sweet Luci Lou on her last day. She was so patient with us as we struggled to make one of the hardest decisions we had ever been faced with. She was there when we needed her, reassuring us and calming our fears. Our Luci left this world with all of the dignity that she ever deserved, huddled close to her family and in the comfort of her own home, on her favorite couch and blanket. She left us calmly and peacefully, and we will be forever grateful for that. Though our house is now empty, our hearts are full. Thank you Dr. Carly for treating our angel with delicate hands, for showing her the utmost respect, and for allowing us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. You truly were an angel."Brittany BernosHammond, LouisianaOctober 23, 2015Luci Lou Bernos's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Dr. Carly was the greatest, we had a scheduled appointment but when we needed her a day early she was able to come right away. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"My Sadie had been sick for a while, and she was getting all the treats she ever desired, when a friend told me about Lap Of Love. I decided that would be how Sadie and I would say goodbye when the time was right.
When the day came, Dr. Carly came ( the same day) with her adorable little doctor's satchel and a sweet smile. She asked us questions, and made a point to remember things I didn't remember mentioning. She was kind and compassionate. She did not rush us and let us signal when it was time. Once Sadie as gone, she quietly let herself out so we could have some time together.
It was a beautiful thing and such a gift to be able to have Dr. Carly come to my house where Sadie could be comfortable and surrounded by those who loved her. I can only hope to have the same when it is my turn."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Our precious Abby had been diagnosed with an enlarged heart four months ago. We knew eventually the struggle would be too much for her and that we would have to make the decision to end her pain. Making that decision was one of the hardest we have ever made. Dr. Carly was so sensitive, so gentle and although we had never met before, I felt I had a friend helping us through this incredibly difficult time. She took her time, answered our questions, loved on our girl and made this very difficult process for us, a little less tramatic. Having Abby end her days at home in her favorite spot with the two people that loved her more than anything and having a caring, sensitive doctor by our side, helped us do what needed to be done. For anyone that might have to face this same situation, I highly recommend Dr. Carly. She was amazing!!"Jean WilliamsBaton Rouge, LouisianaAugust 29, 2015
