Lizzie
10/1/2004 - 7/8/2016Her name was Lizzie, but as pet owners often do, I had many different names I'd call her out of affection. At least two dozen over the course of her life, which spanned close to 12 years and six different addresses until she succumbed to cancer.

Some of her favorite things were eating, playing with her (adopted) younger brother Lloyd, curling up on my chest, eating some more, and finding sun spots to bask in. Along with her daddy and brother, Lizzie leaves behind her mommy Katie, grandparents, Uncle Brian, three cousin cats (Kohl, Victoria and Chucky) and now reunites with our family golden retriever Timber, who had just passed about six weeks prior.

Lizzie - the bond we shared was unlike anything I'd ever imagined possible between a man and a cat, it was so much more than that and it's a bond that will carry on forever. Our hearts and souls are connected for eternity and I know you are in Heaven, looking down on us as an Angel until one day our spirits reconnect in God's Kingdom. Until then, we will cherish the countless memories we've shared and will keep you in our hearts, honoring what you've shown our family about unconditional love.

As difficult as it was to let you go, I knew the time was right to end your pain and suffering as you had given all you had to give after fighting so courageously in the face of your disease. I also know that you are in a better place now and that your spirit is restored to its full strength, free of any aches and pains and limitations. I prayed to God and to St. Rita and to St. Francis for a peaceful passage into Heaven, and my prayers were answered the next morning when I woke up grief-stricken to you no longer being with us. Upon returning to bed, your mommy spotted a ladybug crawling on my pillow and placed it on my hand. It flew off and landed back on me, then flew off again.

I know this was a sign of rebirth from you at just the right moment. You are in Heaven letting us know to be joyful, to let go and let God. So that's what I will try to do. Leave it to a cat to restore a man's Faith.

You will forever be my baby, daddy's first little girl, and nothing can change that. The memories we've shared and the life we experienced is so rich with love that I couldn't imagine where I'd be had God never put you into my life. I'll cherish everything about you, and I'm glad you are now free in a better place as our Angel above.

Love always, YOUR family, The Castigliones

Charlie
2/14/2005 - 7/5/2016Charlie was the sweetest, biggest love bug on the entire planet . He had the kindest eyes which reflected his sweet soul as well as being able to look into yours when you locked gazes . He was raised on our ranch and always loved exploring and hanging out with our horses when they were grazing . He was a wonderful companion to my Mom and Dad, and after my Dad passed away two years ago from Alzheimer's , Charlie continued to keep my 91 years young Mom continued companionship and a will to keep on living a great and fulfilling life ! For both of them ! As the past couple of months have gone by Charlie was eating less and less and having a difficult time getting up and down , weighing over 100 pounds as he did. He lost interest in everything and finally just stopped eating and drinking altogether . Making the decision to make him comfortable at last was the hardest decision for me to make and I had to make sure that my Mom agreed . We were so blessed to have Dr. Jessica come out to our home to make our final farewell to Charlie as comfortable for him as possible . Dr Jessica is an ANGEL! She is sweet , soft spoken , compassionate and such a loving person . She let us take as much time as we needed. She talked and kissed and hugged Charlie (and us) and made this transition as comfortable as possible . Charlie never suffered and knew he was in loving arms . I am so so happy that Dr Jessica was the person who was with us. I've never met a kinder soul and with my other furbabies I know when that time comes I will be seeing her again. Thank you Dr Jessica for your compassion and kindness and the love you gave to Charlie . We could never have gotten through this without you . Much love from Chris Ann and Joan Sjostrom always .Chris Ann SjostromSimi Valley, CaliforniaJuly 9, 2016

Reese
7/8/2016We drove out to port Washington animal shelter on a friday rainy night. We sat in traffic both ways but she was worth it. My family and I walked in looked around. All sorts of dogs were barking saying pick me pick me. Out of all the barking there was one cute boack lab mix just sitting there quietly and i said thats the one. She was so sweet only 8 weeks old. My son was close to same age and they always played together ruffhousing around and yet she knew not to bite anyone. Everyday we get home she would jump up to greet us happily. She was potty trained in about a week she was very smart. Then when we had our inground pool installed, we couldnt keep her out, she LOVED THE WATER. She always listened as if she was human. Always slept in my room on the floor and the end of the bed. Never went to bathroom in the house always held it in.
A few months ago, i was taking her to petco to get her nails cut, and she acted weird not wanting to get out of the van. She finally did and stumpled and almost fell she couldnt walk. I picked her up and drove to the animal hospital and they did a sonogram and found a cist in her spleen and one on her kidney. They wanted to put her down right then and there and I said no way. From there on she had good days and bad ones. Last 2 weeks she wouldnt eat much and was losing weight. I didnt want to end her life and go on Gods time but the look she has on her face looking at me was saying, please help me, let me go.

"Zeus"
7/7/2016On 07 July 2016, our beloved Zeus lost his battle to cancer. The grief that we are experiencing has been extremely difficult to bear, but we know that all dogs DO go to heaven and our precious pup is out of all of his pain and misery. Zeus was more than just a dog, he was our child. Unconditional love, never ending kisses & hugs, compassionate, understanding, loyal, protective, obedient, great listener and overall just a gift from God. We are a Military family so Zeus had the opportunity to travel to many places and see many things. From the mountains to the oceans and everything in between. We will forever be grateful for the time that we got to spend with him and will look forward to holding him again when we get to heaven. We love you and miss you Zeusy...yesterday, today, forever.
