Woodie
1/22/2000 - 10/20/2014In loving memory of our sweet boy Woodie who went to the Rainbow Bridge on 10/20/2014. He was guided there by Dr. Laura Allison, an angel sent from above to also help me through the difficult transition. Woodie is remembered and loved by our entire family who were blessed to grow up by his side, Maria, Fernando and Pablo. Till we meet again Woodie boy! Until then enjoy the splendor or your new home.Isabel FuentesCoral Springs, FloridaOctober 28, 2014
Max
8/20/2006 - 10/26/2014Max, our beautiful, loyal, lovable boy became an angel last night...he cherished life, people, dogs, and some cats. He loved all activities as long as he was with us. He especially loved walks through the woods where he could find his favorite stick, run free and chase squirrels that he would never catch, and after he enjoyed cooling off in the lake. Max was our precious boy who filled our lives with joy; he was our inseparable and loyal baby that taught us so much about the simple joys in life. Max, you will be forever in our hearts. ~ rest in peace our boy, and enjoy chasing squirrels and bunnies across the rainbow… we miss you very much and we will love you always. Romeo
5/24/2000 - 10/23/2014Romeo, you were a gift from Heaven. I was guided to find you that day in May 2004, and from that day forward you instantly became part of our family with your sparkling personality and sweet temperament. Though we no longer see you, we will carry you with us in our hearts now and keep you alive by talking about all the happy memories and sharing all the hundreds (and hundreds!) of photos. You took a piece of my heart with you when you left, and I will forever miss you and love you. - Your Forever Family <3Karen ScottShelby Township, MichiganOctober 27, 2014
Boo
2/1/2003 - 10/25/2014Our beautiful, loving Boo Daley left us last night to romp and play at the rainbow bridge with Maggie, Spooky, Shannon to wait for us. She was a great dog that we rescued almost 12 years ago as an abandoned puppy. Boo loved everyone and was a faithful companion to me. I will truly miss her warm greeting everyday as I return from work. My heart is broken but I have the consolation that she is at peace and free of the limitations that hampered her in the last year. RIP Boo. We will always love and remember you. Mary Lou and Family.Mary Lou DaleyChatham, New JerseyOctober 26, 2014

Major
11/28/2002 - 10/23/2014Major,
You were the most beautiful, loving, and perfect companion to Mike and me. Since you arrived in our lives in such a big package, you were our focus and our joy. You made friends with every creature you met, and there are many people who will miss you when they hear you have gone. Cruel DM took your legs, but your heart and mind were so strong; you didn't want to leave. I will see you again and think of you every day.

Rocky
2/26/2004 - 10/18/2014In loving memory of Rocky our beautiful Husky (with the most gorgeous piercing blue eyes) who peacefully left his earthly existence to wait for us by the Rainbow Bridge on October 18, 2014. You were truly a cherished member of our family and will always be missed and never forgotten. Our lives are forever changed and our hearts grateful for the joy and love you brought us for a little over 10 years. I have ordered a special picture frame for you that says "Pawprints in Heaven - Pawprints on my Heart" and how true that is.

Love and kisses forever,

Saudade
2/3/2006 - 9/10/2014Sadly we lost our lovely boy Saudade to stomach cancer. He was so young and full of life and was taken entirely too soon. This happened very quickly without much time to prepare for the loss. There is no way to fully comprehend our loss. The stillness and quiet in the house is deafening.

I’ve always been a Weimaraner lover and Charles gave me/us the best birthday present I could have ever imagined a little over 8 years ago. His name is CH Mischief’s O Saudade de Arpoador (AKA Dade or Dodgie). He earned his AKC breed championship title at 15 months and enjoyed many years in the sport of agility (a series of jumps, weaves and obstacles on a timed course that we ran together). The bond that we established in the agility ring is one that is so incredibly intense because success relies on minor physical and verbal cues and a whole lot of trust. Trust that he will do what I ask of him and his trust that I will be in a certain place at a certain time and not run over him.

Weimaraners are the type of dog that rely in physical contact with you or at least have one eye open watching you at all times. They are very sensitive and have extreme separation anxiety when you are gone, as they just want to be with you and constantly share their unconditional love. Saudade was no different, as he was always watching us with his loving eyes awaiting praise and affection.

Saudade was graced with 2 incredible breeders who we call our family. They have always been there for us in thick and thin and we can’t thank them enough. Saudade just loved them and went crazy when they arrived and heard, “pup pup pup” chanted by them. He obviously recalled a wonderful and loving time as a puppy and many visits to see his grandparents. Our walkers through they years from Becky’s Pet Care made his live so special and we are so grateful to them for keeping him safe. Daycare was at Dogtopia in Tysons and the staff there just adored him as he enjoyed running around with all of his friends. The team at A Click Above (ACA) nurtured us through obedience and agility training. They are a special group of individuals who patiently worked with us inch by inch to accomplish each task and build upon our skills. We asked the ACA crew if we could have a couple hours to do a final set of runs the weekend before he passed and they agreed. Saudade always struggled with completing his weaves poles. This day, he did four weave poll runs and hit every mark. Thank you for the opportunity to train with your crew and one last time to enjoy the team spirit that he and I shared on the course.

Saudade was the center of our lives and our days began and ended with him. For the past eight and a half years we tried to keep the little guy healthy, happy and exhausted. Exhausted was always the challenge, as he loved people, animals and his toys. We have many headless Froggies and Bear-ies as evidence.

We thank you, dear Saudade, for all that you gave to us. You are truly a man’s best friend and we love you very much. We hope you are playing with your Uncles Finley and Orson in some open field or doggie beach, where it is always sunny and full of squirrels to chase. We miss you little buddy and don’t worry, we won’t sit in your chair. It is always free for you to climb back in it.

Thanks to each of you who reached out with flowers, cards, donations in Saudade’s name, virtual hugs, sympathy, prayers, tissues, and kind wise words. And thank you to Janet Meyer for being with Saudade, Charlie and me as we took the last step of this journey. You made his passing a peaceful and loving experience and we are very glad that he was at home with the three of us at his side.

Should anyone want to donate in Saudade’s name, please do so to your local rescue or our favorite local Weimaraner rescue. http://www.dcweimclub.org/rescue/index.php
