Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Vega
5/20/2007 - 11/6/2019Oh Vega, I’m going to miss you so much. You were my best friend, my travel buddy, my nap buddy, sous chef, roomba, guard dog, and most importantly a family member. I got to grow up with you during the beginning of my adulthood and you were right next to me at all times moving from house to house, from city to another city, you were always there to comfort me from the unknown. Your unconditional love and dedication helped shape me to become the person I am. You saw me get married and meet my baby Nora. I already knew I didn’t have to worry about you around her because you were the sweetest dog ever and loved everybody. Watching you interact with Nora made my soul complete. I’m sad that Nora will not be able to remember you, but I made sure to take a lot of pictures and will always share the wonderful and funny stories I will never forget. When I show a picture of you to her now, she always giggles and smiles and says bubba. You brightened her days when she was sick. You had that ability to make people smile and laugh at your silliness.Sheila ShinnBoynton Beach, FloridaNovember 9, 2019
Leeloo
5/5/2004 - 11/6/2019Oh my sweet Leeloo, I miss you SO so much. You were my constant companion for most of my adult life. From heartaches and homework to marriage and moving, you were always by my side with your raspy meow and constant purr. I will desperately miss our morning routine of back rubs and face scratches and hanging out while I drank coffee and did yoga. I will desperately miss you sitting by my side, always. Usually with one paw on me. Whether it was watching TV, working from home, or just chilling out on the bed, you were always next to me. I'll miss "kitty alarm clock" and how you boldly meowed at the top of your lungs when it was time for bed or time to wake up. I'll miss you pawing at my head for pets and loves. I'll miss making the bed and having you run under the sheets. I'll miss chasing you around the house, yelling "kitten play time!" (that was your favorite game ever). I'll miss you stomping on your Daddy's pillow when he was on a work trip. I'll miss your sweet, soft purr. I'll miss talking to you and how you would perfectly respond to all of my questions. I'll miss pointing out your knees to you. I'll miss burying my face in your extremely soft fur. I'll miss giving you more kisses than you wanted. I'll miss holding you upside down like a baby and how much you complained even though you secretly loved it. I miss you so much my love. I will see you again, and you can be by my side forever. <3 <3 Love you baby girl.Rachael SassSan Jose, CaliforniaNovember 9, 2019
Maxx
6/2/2002 - 11/7/2019Maxx was a very social and loyal cat. She would lay on your lap for hours and sleep with you at night. When I would come home from work she would be waiting. She was truly a gift.Shelby BorchersDayton, OhioNovember 9, 2019
Tootie
3/20/2004 - 11/6/2019Tootie was our more than beloved son for over half our marriage. We were honored to become his parents when he was only 6 weeks old and broken when we lost him on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the age of 15 1/2.
Being in our house without Tootie's every loving presence is unbearable and yet we have three other pups that need momma and daddy too.
Tootie was the last of our "Original Seven" pups. From there we went up to 11 at our highest rescue number at one time and Tootie just always went with the flow - nothing upset him he just rolled with it. He taught them the routine by example and let everyone know that he was the boss.
For the last 2 years Tootie was with me h24/7 and his presence is missing all around me. Everywhere I go in our house is haunted my Tootie and all that have gone before him. Even trying to be outside - the backyard is missing his old man bark.
Words cannot express our anguish over losing Tootie and the love now gone from our lives.
Play, run and keep those pups in line for me Tootie - I'll see you again one day soon and I can't wait!

Cookie
5/15/2001 - 11/4/2019Cookie was my beloved cat for 18 years. We had so much fun together. She would sit on my desk for hours watching me edit photos on the computer and would chase the mouse cursor around the screen. She was often a model for me when I was testing my camera equipment for a photo shoot.

One day when I bent over to pick up something from the floor, she jumped on to my back. As I slowly stood up, she wrapped herself around by neck. She loved to ride around on my shoulders. I will never forget the time Cookie grabbed a string attached to a balloon and started running from room-to-room with the balloon chasing her....simply too funny...and I captured this event on video because she did it twice.

Cookie would give me kisses (licks) on my face whenever I would ask and turn my cheek to her face. When she wanted my attention, she would come to wherever I was sitting and meow, asking to be picked up. She loved her canine companions, CJ and Hope, too. She would often brush up against them for affection and even come nose-to-nose to greet them.

Cookie loved basking in the sun in my meditation room. On cold winter nights, she would sleep on the heat vent or a pillow next to me. We would sometimes sleep in a recliner on stormy nights to keep the dogs company. CJ doesn't like thunderstorms.

I will miss Cookie dearly and she will live on in my heart forever. She expressed her love for me, her dogs and anyone she met in many ways. Someday we will meet and never part again. I know.

Coco
5/7/2003 - 11/5/2019COCO
Sixteen and a half years ago
You came into my life.
You were in a pile of puppies that they called “lab mix”
Because so many are.
We never found out what “type” of dog you were.
We only know that you are
A friendly dog
A sweet dog
A smart dog
You were my first dog in many years.
The first ever that I picked out
As a grownup.
Your ears flopped down at the beginning,
Then slowly rose to attention.

Your color
Your zest for life
Gave me your name
Coco, after Coco Chanel,
Who famously said,
“Beauty is zest.”
But like that other Coco
Your beauty wasn’t the only thing
That defined you.
Zest for life
A fierce independence,
(The latter made many believe you were part husky.)
A love of running on canyon trails
Chasing balls
But never really returning them.
You never cared that much about
People pleasing.
But you did please everyone anyway with
Your constant smile
Your wagging tail.
You have lived in three houses
The last one being the best because
Jacques joined our little family,
The nicest, kindest man we ever met.
You bonded instantly.
You tolerated your little brother Jack and never
Acted like the alpha dog you were
Unless he stole, or tried to steal,
A particularly yummy treat!
You have many nicknames
Coco Puff
Coco Nut
Coco with the marshmallow paws
Cocorooni
Pufferooni
Your proud spirit will live in me always.
We will never forget you.

We want to thank Lap of Love and Dr. Amy for making this very difficult time so much easier and peaceful for him. Galileo "Gally"
8/1/2011 - 11/6/2019So God gave us dogs. He knew that humans would experience suffering and broken bonds, that their lives would be complicated and messy. He knew they would need a pure example of loyalty, and compassion. And he knew they would need someone to love them unconditionally and always welcome them home.

Galileo "Gally", my beloved furbaby. August, 2011 - November 6, 2019.
Honestly, I don't know who rescued who. You came into my life after loosing Orion, at a time when I didn't think I wanted another puppy. I didn't think I could love another yet you taught me otherwise. You chose me and you were truly my gift from God. My constant companion while my husband traveled out of state every week for work. Always by my side, protecting me, protecting our home and even though you wouldn't get in the pool, you made sure the pool was protected from frogs, spiders, even a mouse. You left us too soon and I was not ready.
