Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Dot
7/4/2002 - 1/21/2020Sweet Dot, you came into our lives like all our Fur Babies have...you chose us that night when we were at a friend's house and you seemed to come out of nowhere, and immediately jumped into my lap, claiming ownership of me. Our friend had said you were a ferral kitten, abandoned by it's mother for being the littlest in the litter. But we all know that sometimes the smallest also means being the fiercest. And you were. We took you home and you taught us to stand our ground, never back down from the things that matter, to pick our battles wisely...and to demand five meals a day.

We had hoped you would stay with us forever, but we knew this day would come when you would have to say goodbye. We saw you suddenly go downhill one Saturday afternoon, refusing to eat. We thought it was just a slight bug. But this was different. It was more than that...the tired look in your 18 year-old eyes, your refusal to eat or drink, told us that your time was coming. We didn't want you to suffer, and we decided to do the right thing for you, no matter how much our hearts broke. We are so honored that you chose us to be your Mom and Dad. Thank you for your grace, your lessons and your unconditional love. We will always love you, sweet Dot.

Jaq Mazz----
1/22/2020 - 12/29/2020We want to thank Lap of Love for your compassionate and caring treatment of our beloved Jaq. Special thanks go to Dr. Heather Manfredi who came to our home and was absolutely wonderful.

Jaq was a very handsome and special little man. He was a very energetic and loving Jack Russell. He was sooo very strong in presence and personality. He has been in our lives for almost 16 years. He loved long walks, hunting, swimming and being a lap dog. He developed degenerative myelopathy and lost his ability to walk. He would use his wheelchair but was not crazy about it. So when the time came that he was tired, we had to make the hardest decision we ever had to make. We felt euthanasia was the kindest thing we could do for him.
Dr. Heather arrived at our home and after introducing herself she sat with us and explained exactly what she would do and how Jaq would most likely react at each step. She then took time to befriend Jaq and win his trust. She won a loving kiss from him. She then told us that she had Jack Russell terriers. The actual euthanasia was done in my arms across my lap and my husband and son on either side of him and Dr. Heather positioned in front of us. He never seemed to be frightened or in pain and he passed peacefully.
He had regular visits to his wonderful and compassionate vet, but to end his life in a sterile office environment would have been so much more stressful for him and for us too. So we made the best decision to have his passing at home in a loving environment.
Thank you again Lap of Love and a very special thank you to Dr. Heather who made a very difficult situation more peaceful and loving.

Jaq would have been sweet 16 today. We love and miss him deeply!

Happy Birthday Jaq

Mejee
3/15/2005 - 1/20/2020Your Passamaquoddy name was Mejuard which means "messy hair" We thought that was a lot of name for a 2# terrier mix pup, so we called you Mejee ( rhymes with wedgie.) You grew up to be 10#, and you were the sweetest and most loving little dog who came everywhere with us, You loved being in the boat on the lake. You would stand on your back feet in the bow, and your ears would be flying back in the wind. You went on long walks with your Daddy who had an attachment to you, unlike any he had ever had with a pet. We both miss you, little one, You were a trooper and endured tests and medications for Cushing's for more than 4 years to give us more time with you. Thank you for loving us, Mejee. You will always be in our hearts, and we are so grateful that you were able to leave us peacefully.Frances BetzEaston, PennsylvaniaJanuary 21, 2020

Angel
4/14/2005 - 1/18/2020Angel you were such a sweet and lovable girl. We were so blessed to have 12 wonderful years with you. You are missed so much already. It's so quiet not hearing the tags on your collar and your nails on the floor as you walked through the house. Not being greeted at the door as we come home. Your nose art still on the back door, where you loved to sit and watch outside, looking for squirrels, bunnies and your neighbors to come out to play. We know you are at peace now cancer free, running and playing in the grandest yard of them all. You just loved being with your people, when everyone was home at the end of the day you could finally relax. Also would proceed to make sure you got your much needed attention from each of us. You will forever be our sweet puppy! We Love and Miss you!Ken, Kathy and Kirsten RoeGalloway, OhioJanuary 21, 2020
