Bluebell
3/10/2001 - 6/15/2015Dear Bluebell, I’m so grateful that I was able to give you love, safety, and health for 7 of your 14 years. You were an amazing gift; thank you for finding your way to me. Thank you for filling my heart with love, comfort and joy every day. You were an angel on earth as I watched you seek out every stranger to give unconditional love and calm healing energy, even when you were sick. You were a super model and an amazing ambassador for pit bull breeds. I miss seeing your face and kissing your forehead a million times a day. Life will never feel complete without you, but you will remain in my heart and I hope you can still hear me send you this message every day: I love you so much!!!Jacinda KayeRenton, WashingtonJuly 18, 2015
Tyson
11/11/2001 - 7/13/2015I sent my husband to get cat food for our cat Mr. Meow and my husband comes back with another cat. Tyson was kicked out of 4 homes before he met us. He was a 3 year old black cat who loved to box standing on his hind legs and terrorize my other cat. It took awhile to get used to him because of his anxiety. I did everything to try to understand him and knew he was like this because of the way people had treated him and told him that I would never kick him out and he was going to trust us one day allow the love to come in. We had him for 11 years and he had become the most loving, sweet, crazy, funny cat you can imagine. He would wait for my husband everyday after work so he could hang with him. In the morning when I woke up, I would always find him tucked in my arms. He was a beautiful, shiny, small, muscular gorgeous cat whose life got cut down by cancer. He fought, true to his name Tyson, a big fight and beat the odds the Vet gave him. He told me he would be gone in 3/5 months. He lasted 8 months. He lost the use of his back legs on Saturday and just before he died, he got up and walked. Thank you Dr. Cindi for the kind way he transitioned to the Rainbow Bridge and thank for your kind words, and understanding. You made this a lot easier than I would ever have imagined. Rest in Peace Tyson, till we meet again, mommy, daddy and Josh <3 <3 <3Heidi LadowitzCollegeville, PennsylvaniaJuly 17, 2015
Sugar
2/22/2002 - 7/15/2015My outgoing and fun loving golden retriever Sugar. She lived to be 13 1/2 years old. Taken from my family by cancer, same as her sister Spice 3 years ago. No matter the time long or short that we had her, it was never enough. Sugar was a tough girl. Never showed us any sign of pain or weakness. She stayed strong for her family no matter how much we knew she was slowly getting sicker. There's was nothing we wouldn't do for Sugs. She survived surgery of removing a tumor last year which she came back from so strong, acting like a young pup once again! But the cancer came back. The house feels lonely already. I always looked forward to coming home from work everyday just to see her beautiful smiling face greeting me with a wag of her tail. My family is sadden by the loss of Sugar but we know she is no longer hurting and she is with her sister Spice now at the rainbow bridge. She was my dads best friend, my moms companion, and both companion and best friend to me. We love you always Sugar and Spice. Loosing you hurts so bad and we believe it's because the reality of not having the two of them is here. May you find one another and RIP. Love you always xoxoMallory ClarkRoyal Palm Beach, FloridaJuly 16, 2015
Ember
10/31/2000 - 6/27/2015When we first met you at the Humane Society of Parkersburg in April 2001, your name was Oso and you were the quietest dog in the cell block. We knew you were our perfect match when we took you out for a trial walk and you immediately tripped and fell face first in your water bowl. Since that moment, you forever changed our lives.

You would eagerly chase us through the house, occasionally jumping through windows in games of "go get mommy/daddy!" You were never quite the fastest dog, but quickly learned to head the speedier hounds off at the pass to steal their toys. You loved all people, even (mostly) overcoming your fear of little ones to become a certified therapy dog. You loved to dress up with pretty bandanas, and were gorgeous as the flower girl at our wedding.

You lived with us in Morgantown, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Seattle, and Marietta, tolerating multiple moves and making an excellent travel companion. You were with us through all the good times and bad, even tolerating the introduction of your brother, Loki, and were the glue that held us all together. You went through a lot in your 14 years, overcoming 5 knee surgeries and the resection of part of your liver for cancer. Sadly you couldn't beat the tumor around your heart.

We will miss the smell of your fur and the Fritos aroma of your paws. We will miss the surprisingly loud "Fwump!" every time you chose a place to lie down, and the constant thwack of your tail every time we came into view. We will miss the ferocity with which you tore into presents at Christmastime and birthdays, surpassed perhaps only by your all-out attack on cheeseburgers, pizza, and occasionally our fingers.

Most of all we will miss the unconditional love and joy you showed us, and your amazing ability to comfort us when we needed you. We will be forever grateful for the memories you have given us, and we hope that we have provided you with as many wonderful experiences. May the sun shine forever warmly on your coat, and may the yards of heaven be populated with an infinity of squirrels.

We love you,
Mom and Dad

Miss Kitty
4/2/1994 - 7/8/2015We first met Miss Kitty more than twenty years ago when she was abandoned near my mother’s home in west Tennessee. She was my mother’s constant companion and lived with her till 2007 when we inherited Miss Kitty.

Miss Kitty has faced many challenges. She lost part of an ear to a tumor, has lost her hearing, and had a mass in her chest. Still, as many at Calusa Veterinary Center may tell you, she has never met a person she did not want to be near. Calusa Veterinary Center named her “Pet of the Month” for June 2015.

She loved to lie in the summer sun and near a warm heater during the winter. Though she needed a special “pet stairs” to climb up, she still slept with us every night. She would lie on her side, face to face, and reach out a paw showing she wanted to be petted, she then kept that same paw touching us as we all slept for the night.

One of Miss Kitty’s many endearing qualities was the way she would enter a room. She would first stick her head around the corner, as if to see if we were there. Due to her hearing problem, we would make an exaggerated hand clapping motion to welcome her. When she saw that, she would happily join us in a chair or bed, depending on the room. That cute, petite, sweet face looking around the corner is a vision we will never forget.

Although we did all we could with medications, hydration and love, we could not keep Miss Kitty forever. Sadly in July she had a major setback. Doctor Tiffany, from Lap of Love, thought she may have had a stroke. So in her favorite room to nap in, with the help of Lap of Love, our precious Miss Kitty passed peacefully at home, July 8, 2015.

Miss Kitty’s courageous spirit and gentle demeanor has greatly enriched our lives. She will be greatly missed in ways we can’t express.

Sally Girl
1/1/2001 - 7/12/2015When I relocated to Port Saint Lucie to be with Rocky I not only moved into Rocky's house it was also Sally's. I remember thinking well I know Rocky loves me, let's hope Sally loves me too. The first week I moved in she would follow me around and just kinda stare at me. I think she was sort of evaluating me, seeing if I fit the bill to take care of her boy Rocky.
Rocky's family adopted Sally when she was just a puppy. The day of the adoption Sally walked on over and sat right at his Dad's feet. Sally chose them to love and this was the start of her amazing life. Sally and Rocky grew up together and were always the best of friends.
After I moved in I was so elated and super excited to establish a friendship with Sally. So I took her for walks and I gave her treats and we got to know each other. As we got closer we would have puppy dance parties , princess puppy blanket wraps, photo sessions, she would always help me cook, take sneaky naps on the bed and she would even sit in a chair next to me at the computer. I think Sally was like this girl is crazy, I love her, can we keep her ? Yes.. I know I am an insane "dog person"and I happily own that title :)
Sally , Rocky and I started our own little family of three. We showered her with love, praise , hugs , kisses and laughter everyday ! Oh my goodness all the fun we had with our girl! We came to the conclusion we both were guilty of being obsessed with our perfect girl. Sally was so much a part of us and every inch of our home that she made so warm.
I'd never had the privilege to witness a dog into their senior years. It truly is a privilege to see life and the wisdom in an old pups eyes.
As Sally aged she had more and more challenges that arose and we took them on as a family. As she got weaker we decided to put up a permanent gate to secure our stairs. We just couldn't trust her going up and down independently any longer. Sky was the limit, we would do anything to accommodate our Sally to make her happy and safe. We would do it all over , 20 times over!
The pain and void we feel that she is no longer here is overwhelming at times. As I write these words I'm not going to lie I have her favorite toy sitting in my lap. Having this small piece of her here brings me comfort. I know in time we will begin to heal but right now the reality is too harsh. This question has been on my mind , how can we ever adequately thank a dog for their love ? The loyalty and mercy they show us is more then we deserve. I know even on her bad days when she was uncomfortable she would try to hide that from us just to spare our feelings. Dogs have an innate ability to want to please us and they will go to the ends of the earth for their family. I believe they are one of the most selfless creatures that God has ever created and because of this I will forever be grateful.
We will love you and miss you forever our best friend , our pup ❤️

Valerie Rose
1/3/2007 - 6/19/2015Our Valerie Rose will forever be missed by our family and friends. She was loving, sweet and a fun-filled girl. She kept us smiling, laughing and safe. When she met a new person, she greeted them with open paws. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. We miss you Valerie to the moon and back! You are forever in our hearts.Murlyn BurkesLong Beach, CaliforniaJuly 15, 2015
Six
4/9/2004 - 7/10/2015Six was more than just the "man" of our family. He was the sweetest, most loving pet you could ever ask for. He sensed when someone did not feel well in the house and he was right there to let you know he was there. He would softly approach you and put his little wet nose on your leg to let you know he wanted your attention about something. Even when his heart became broken, this "little man's" appetite was always GOOD. He enjoyed eating and loved his cooked vegetables. Six considered fresh garden cooked green beans a TREAT. Even though fresh vegetables have always been a part of his and this brothers diet. Six's life pretty much consisted of playing with his frisbee, ball and he loved to chase his "donut shaped ring" through the yard or the house. His brother Buckeye has taken the donut and the red shaped ring and has put both of those specific toys behind the couch where Buckeye likes to go and hide for solice.

Six may appear to be a BIG BOY in the picture, but he only weighed 35 lbs max ever. Six just like his brothers, truly are a part of our family. As having no human children, these "boys" are our "fur babies". We celebrated birthdays by cooking STEAK and CAKE for them. The cupcakes had candles, lit and we sang to them just like we celebrate human birthdays. They even did their howling barks on New Year's Eve celebrations when we break out the tamborine, horns, pot/pans or any other noise making thing. Six enjoyed even the Christmas Tree and all the ornaments & gifts were fully inspected and had his wet nose approval sealed on it. Six knew which gifts were his and his brothers.

Six is LOVED without LIMITS and the EMPTINESS in our HOME without his presence is so HUGE. Yet in our hearts the LOVE and LOYALTY this boy has given us all is beyond what words could ever express.

Angel
2/22/2003 - 7/6/2015My beloved "child" with many dear names; ANGEL, Baby Smurf, Boo Boo, Nugget, Baby Girl, Precious, Love Bug, Queen Angel, Your Royal Highness...I salute each and everyone of your unforgettable personalities, your UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, your sensitive and gentle nature, your true loyalty, my one and only shadow-there will never be another ANGEL like you.

In our very last moment together, these words came into my mind and I whispered them softly into your ear, because I knew that you somehow still could hear me: "If My Heart Was Made Out Of Tears, You Would Float Away On A River Of Love". And you did...

There is not a minute, an hour or a day that goes by without me thinking about you. I feel your presence everywhere I go and I wish you Sweet Dreams before I turn out the lights every night. I know you are playing with the rest of out furry family members; Princess, Master 7 and Mauser. And also those before your time; Boxan and Mirran, have joined the pack. The day will come when we ALL reunite and spend eternity together where nothing but love, health and beauty exist. Until then my best friend and love, I honor you with this song:

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again

Damn, who knew?
All the planes we flew
Good things we've been through
That I'll be standing right here talking to you
'Bout another path
I know we loved to hit the road and laugh
But something told me that it wouldn't last
Had to switch up
Look at things different, see the bigger picture
Those were the days
Hard work forever pays
Now I see you in a better place

How can we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gon' be with me for the last ride

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I'll see you again
When I'll see you again

First you both go out your way
And the vibe is feeling strong
And what's small turn to a friendship
A friendship turn to a bond
And that bond will never be broken
The love will never get lost
And when brotherhood come first
Then the line will never be crossed
Established it on our own
When that line had to be drawn
And that line is what we reach
So remember me when I'm gone

How can we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gon' be with me for the last ride

So let the light guide your way, yeah
Hold every memory as you go
And every road you take,
will always lead you home, home

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again...

"As tears of love roll down my face, and my heart is breaking with every breath I take. I see your precious smile and glorious eyes, they twinkle and say...this is not good bye".

Thank you ANGEL for inspiring those beautiful words in your honor. And for helping me to express my grief for you into loving memories and beautiful verses.

You were my rock, my love, my TRUE family, my everything. I am grateful for the unconditional love we had for each other since the first day you became mine and I became yours. We WERE meant to be together FUREVER!

I love you baby Angel and I promise to smile soon...just for you.

Cookie
2/24/2001 - 7/13/2015Cookie was very gentle and such a loving cat from the very beginning. He was our little "sunny boy" because he used to love laying in the sun. He was always there for us when we felt lonely. He always came to us when we called him and followed us like a shadow. He had a very soft gray fur and beautiful green eyes which we could stare forever. He was a very cheerful cat who will always answer back when we talk to him and also very smart he would understand exactly what we were saying. I miss him so dearly since we had him for almost 15 years he was like a son to us. This was one of the hardest decision we had to make but at least we know he is at peace and we loved him so very much. We will see you again in heaven. Rest in peace my sweet little angel.. love you so much and thank you for all the joys and loving memories and comfort you gave us. You are the one and only and you will be sorely missed..Irene LeeEdgewater, New JerseyJuly 15, 2015
