Lucy
1/22/2007 - 5/29/2020This past Friday we had to let our precious Lucy go. She was suffering from hemagiosarcoma and lived approximately one month following her splenectomy. Sadly the cancer aggressively spread to her liver and was causing a fatal bleed. We are grateful for the additional month we had with her though.

Lucy was surrounded by her dog mother me, her dog father, my husband and her dog grandfather . We spent the last 2 hours of her life hugging her, feeding her her favorite cookies, and thanking her for all the love she gave us. Her beautiful brown eyes were so expressive and she knew the end was near. Her cat sister Gatta came and comforted her as well.

Lucy was the most precious gentle soul of any dog I have ever had the pleasure of calling my companion. Not to mention she was beautiful with a white and blond coat that was extremely unique.

Lucy was always there with me as I went through some of the worst moments in my life. She loved unconditionally no matter what the circumstances were. When I spent three months on a ventilator following a botched hysterectomy she came to visit me in the ICU. You can see from the picture I added that she wasn’t scared, but rather reassuring me it was all going to be ok.

I love you Lucy. I always will.

I can’t say enough about how special she was and how much my heart aches without her.

Cocoa Bean
3/1/2005Cocoa Bean was our treasure. We adopted her from a rescue group in 2006. She was a true “water girl” who spent most of her time lounging in and near the creek on our property. We miss you our beautiful girl❤️Julie BlackVictor, New YorkMay 31, 2020
Tucker
7/17/2004 - 5/29/2020Our lives will never be the same without Tucker in our home. He was not just a pet, he was a family member. Everyone that met him , loved him. Layla
5/22/2005 - 5/29/2020We said goodbye to my best girl yesterday. We made the decision to put Layla to sleep, in the home, while she was still at least partially with us and before her suffering became debilitating. There were signs she had been slipping for a while - back legs giving out, fading vision and hearing, losing her balance, more panting, and looking confused and lost around the house. For as difficult as this was for us, this was absolutely the right thing to do before her suffering came to define her life. I give my mother credit for making the painful but merciful and loving decision to put her to sleep - and for being an incredible dog mother to Layla for 15 years. And thanks to Dr. Amy Parrish and Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice & In-Home Euthanasia for providing professionalism, convenience, and compassion to us on Layla’s final day.

She was our Bighead, with a wonderful sense of humor, intelligence, confidence, and friendliness to whomever she met. She was my favorite girl since the day we adopted her in August 2005, the summer proceeding my junior year at ESU. She was there when I graduated from college, returned from Prague, finished graduate school, began multiple new jobs, and she saw the beginning and end of an engagement and relationship. She was the bossy-yet-kind princess, the independent and welcoming, sometimes younger and sometimes older, dog sister to three other dogs who came and went during her watch (including one surviving puggle). Throughout all the life changes, Layla was the dog I loved greeting me and reminding me I was home. But now, nature has taken its course, and aging and death have finally caught up to her. Her death leaves a big giant hole in my heart, but I know we gave her a peaceful death and final gift after a life about as good as any you could imagine for a dog.

Farewell, Bighead. I love you, and I’ll see you on the other side 🖤

Bo
8/2/2006 - 5/29/2020When I got Bo in 2006 he was smaller than a can of soda and was supposed to be a "Teacup Poodle". But he just kept growing and growing and growing, clearly he is not a Teacup Poodle but instead turned out to be a mini Goldendoodle. Bo was the happiest dog I have ever met. He loved life and everyone he met. Bo loved to run and play at the dog park and at dog beach. He loved to run and he ran so fast. He was a very good watch dog and protected me many times. Bo loved to eat Ritz crackers and he would "fish bite" them and take like a whole minute to eat one cracker. He was silly, fun and like I said loved to play.Tammy PettiboneMenifee, CaliforniaMay 30, 2020
Shiloh
12/25/2008Shiloh was born on Christmas Day. I found her at Young William's Animal Shelter. She was surely a gift! She had a large tumor on her head and her face when I got her but she was still as precious as ever. Once the tumors were removed she lived a full life with her brothers Tiamo and Baciagaloop. She was a sweet and gentle girl. It wasnt until a month ago when she had a respiratory infection that started her decline. I cant thank Laps of Love staff and Dr. Allie for getting to my home so quickly. Their understanding, kindness and compassion I will never forget. Pam SilanoKnoxville, TennesseeMay 30, 2020

Snuggles
11/5/2005 - 5/23/2020It has been exactly a week since we put our little boy Snuggles to sleep. (He was 14 years old) I have tried many times to go on to the memorial site and write a little something but it has been to hard for me. I miss my little Snuggles so much, I am so heart broken a little piece of me is missing. Snuggles was the craziest little guy. Loved his mama very much followed me everywhere even when he went blind he still managed to find me around the house. And if there was food he was there! We are going to miss him very much. I’d like to think this is not goodbye but more like see you later, we will see each other again. Mama loves you Snuggles always .Andrea SchneiderDavie, FloridaMay 30, 2020
