Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Sadie
9/27/2004 - 11/9/2015We were so blessed to have 11 years with our beloved baby girl and best friend. She was so human like and we believe understood so much of the world around her. She brought us so much joy and laughter through our years with her. Sadie helped us celebrate our happiest moments and was there for the difficult days with her unconditional love and affection. She enjoyed camping, hiking and playing soccer. Our fondest memories were of her following our young boys around in the desert as they were learning to ride quads, almost as a protective instinct. Sadie also had many hours of fun when she learned how to play hide and seek where she would search every room in the house until she found us. She was the best friend we all need in life. There are no words to truly describe the love and companionship she brought to our home. We look forward to being reunited in Heaven with our beloved girl!Dawn RoppeTemecula, CaliforniaNovember 22, 2015
Mitch
9/10/2001 - 11/20/2015A companion is defined as, "a person or animal with whom one spends a lot of time or with whom one travels". Mitch has been my companion for 14 years. But that's not even a fair introduction, he has been my room mate, my travel partner, my pillow to cry on, my warmth on cold days and nights, my dinner dates, my dance partner, my road tripper, my shadow, my leader, my security blanket, my motivation, my inspiration, and the foundation for the person I am today. Mitch has been the center of my life since the moment I laid eyes on him. I have been Mitch's entire life since the moment he laid eyes on me. There aren't words in any language that can begin to express the love, devotion, and respect.

I am less of a human without you,

Tia
9/21/2000 - 11/20/2015Today, November 20th we said a peaceful goodbye to Tia, nearly 16 years old. She was a black lab and terrier mix. She had some white highlights, especially underneath her, and came to her forever home from the Lied shelter back in 2000. Tia was special to us both and many who have met her. She was one tough cookie, but even though she had some health setbacks in later years she worked her way through them with the great kindness and patience showed by us both and Grandpa. Tia was our baby "Child in Fur" and a great companion with many unique characteristics. Now that she has her Angel Wings and her body is no longer broken, she finally will have a chance to catch that cat that she always wanted to nab. Rest easy sweet Tia, your pet mom and dad will miss you dearly and remember you always.Tom & Anne MezzacappaHenderson, NevadaNovember 21, 2015

Jessie
9/27/2004 - 11/5/2015Big dogs with soft hearts are often known as gentle giants, but no one could be more gentle than our Jessie. The last of an unplanned litter, she was headed for the shelter when chance brought her into our lives. She bonded immediately with Harry, our saintly old golden retriever, and she followed in his paw prints from that first snowfall in Colorado to a lasting place in our hearts. Jessie wasn’t just a shadow, though—she was very much herself, with her sweet face and soulful eyes, her dainty eating habits and her love of routine pleasures like her morning ear-rub. She was the soul of patience when, after Harry’s passing, a rascally five-year-old bulldog named Romeo entered our lives. Romeo had no canine manners or socialization when he first came home, but everything he learned came from Jessie. She could be a fighter when she had to be, pulling through a dangerous illness last year that saw her hospitalized and fed through a tube for over a week. She was her old self again before long. Looking back, we are so grateful for the extra year with Jessie. Cancer finally took her from us this fall, but to the last she was a brave and sweet patient who comforted us as much as we did for her.
If you are reading this, it’s probably because you, too, have lost a dear friend and companion. We hope your loved one gets to meet Jessie somewhere on the other side, and knowing Jessie, they’re already friends.

Kiska
9/11/2002 - 11/19/2015Kiska gave me a lot of good times and chases. This dog was part husky and loved to run any chance she got Including Christmas eve, good Friday, and during a snow Storm. (White dog in a driving snow storm! That's FUN right there) she LOVED chasing her tail and tried to pull her tail under her and through her back legs and under her belly. she was always sweet (at least to me) and she loved, loved, LOVED being sneaky and having the back of her neck petted, and could be 100% attitude! She was and will always be my baby!Stacey MenardWheatfield, New YorkNovember 21, 2015
Shadow
3/1/1997 - 11/10/2015THE PERFECT CAT
A perfect cat is affectionate but not annoying
Thinks he is a dog, runs to greet you when you come in
Comes when he is called, answering you with a meow
Does a yoda impression, wears a Halloween costume for 5 minutes
Cries out for your attention, but once he gets it stops crying
Is in the room with you, if not sitting with you
Is friendly with all your visitors, falls in love with some of them
Is a beauty to look at, with clear eyes and a soft clean coat
Is soft to touch, a comfort to anyone touching him
Uses the litter box, and keeps himself clean
Purrs softly, plunges his feet with joy and then even drools
Is a friend, a companion, but when his days are done
It’s the kindest thing to let him go, not allow him to lose his quality of life
All the things he loved, like sitting up high on a chair, counter or ledge,
Like sitting in the sun stream that is inside your house
Slipping out the dog door or front door to sit in the sun outside
Never leaving home for too long, always sitting on the porch
Like eating tuna fish, chicken or other treats
Just being petted and loved. Like being able to see, hear and smell. Just the basics were gone.
I'll miss you Shadow. Thank you God for sharing him with me for almost 19 years.

Ryder
5/14/2002 - 11/15/2015Ryder was "Oscar Madison" of Greyhounds. He would eat his food in 1 or 2 gulps, turn around and belch, and then jump on the couch, flip upside down and snore. He always wanted to be close. Almost every night would climb into bed and sandwich in between us. It was very hard to let him go, but it was best for him. The house is hauntingly quiet. He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.Chris webstergulfport, FloridaNovember 20, 2015
