Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
11/28/1998 - 8/18/2013Casey came into our lives one January day 14 ½ years ago. He was precious, the runt of the litter. Our first interactions with him were watching him follow around the owner grunting for her attention. We picked him out to be a part of our family, but my parents and I had no idea how much we would grow to love that little puppy. He fast became a huge part of our lives and we cherished every minute. He gave the best kisses and cuddles and enjoyed falling asleep in our laps and on our chests. Yet, he was clearly the alpha of our pack and would bark to keep us in line. He had a unique personality and clear ideas about what he wanted and when he wanted it. All of these traits made us love him all the more. Casey loved life. He especially loved sitting on the front porch of our beach house keeping an eye on the people and animals that passed by while the wind blew through his hair. He loved getting presents and often thought every bag that we brought in the house was for him and he was right most of the time. We loved spoiling him. However, he is the one that truly spoiled us. He brought more joy to our lives than we thought possible and our hearts and spirits are better because of Casey. We miss him every day and try to find comfort in the many, many memories we have together and in the knowledge that we will get to cuddle and kiss him again one day in heaven.Lori HackneyDurham, North CarolinaAugust 21, 2013

2/1/2001 - 8/19/2013My sweet baby girl, my protector, I miss you so much my heart aches. Not sure I remember how to be me without you by my side. I was the first thing you saw when you opened those beautiful eyes, and the last thing you saw before you crossed over. Thank you for loving me more than you loved yourself. Thank you for every wonderful day we spent together. You showed a love and devotion rarely seen. You will ALWAYS be mommies sweetest girl.Michelle ReifschneiderMaryland Heights, MissouriAugust 20, 2013

8/16/2013In memory of my best friend, Charlie. To say you were ingrained in my soul is somewhat of an understatement. You could read my face to know what I was feeling. You weren't just a dog... you were a friend, a confidant, a protector... you were family. You were so smart! You rang a bell to go outside, you hid bread wrappers when you broke into the pantry and ate entire loaves at a time, you opened drawers to find Christmas candy.... the list goes on and on. When you lost your hearing I was so sad. I was sad that you couldn't hear me say, "I love you." I know you knew it, though. I will miss our walks in your stroller. I will miss our evenings in the rocking chair on the front porch. But mostly I will miss your presence. Last night was my first night alone in 18 years!! How will I ever get used to you not being at the door when I leave and when I come home? I know you are happy now. I am just so excited that you can hear!! So listen out for me, bud. Be waiting for me... I will see you when I get there. I love you, MomPatsy DavisAiken, South CarolinaAugust 19, 2013

4/6/1998 - 8/17/2013My Sweet Dear Ruby,

You were an angel in my life, bonded to my heart from the beginning. I thank God that you and I found each other. From the beginning, you slept in our bed, cozy at my feet until morning when we had our morning cuddles. Over the years we had to be creative about where you slept, as steps became an obstacle, but I am very happy you never had to sleep alone. You were gentle, kind and never complained about your chronic ear, eye and skin infections. You were so brave with all of your health problems - I hope to be as graceful and calm in the face of such adversity. I miss you so much, my little girl. You were the most comforting presence I knew. It was definitely your time to go up with the other angels - I know that we will be together again someday. I love you so...

2/12/1999 - 8/19/2013Our precious Phoebe, our little sassy. Hard to believe it was 14 years ago you were picked from a litter of pups and joined our family. It was the best decision we ever made. You brought us so much joy, companionship, and always unconditional love. Our family wouldn’t have been the same without you, my sweet Phoebe. You will be in our hearts forever and ever and will be deeply missed. Thank you for sharing your life with us.Debora HesterRaleigh, North CarolinaAugust 19, 2013
7/14/1998 - 7/19/2013we've had many dogs in our families for many years but the 15 years we had with Yoshi was more special than any of them. He knew every word and thought we were thinking and he commanded respect and discipline in his house(our home ) all the time. the look in his eyes would just melt your heart and his passion for life spoke volumes. He fought the good fight all the way till the end. Telling him goodbye in the sweetest way possible was nearly impossible. we called him our best boy ever. And he was and will be forever in our hearts and minds.kelly bensonwylie, TexasAugust 19, 2013

My snuggle bug, loved spooning with her, her body fit perfectly in the crook of mine, ball chasing girl ... She could find 'em anywhere, Cajun food lover ... If it didn't have flavor she wasn't interested, we walked for miles in the hills of Winchester, protector ... All bark, no bite except when her baby cousin got too close ... Colby's nose will never be the same ...neither will grandma & grandpa's floor! No one had more fun in uncle Matt's pool & no one could find that one leftover buried tennis ball like Sailor.

Balls, bodies of water & snuggling in bed were her favorite things ...

Those silky ears and big brown eyes & those Andy Rooney eyebrows by the end.

She let her little sister lick her ears, her eyes ... put her leg on top of hers, they were always touching and they walked side by side every step of the way. If not for Mags, We'd still be chasing Sailor when she got out of the fenced yard. When Mags arrived, Sailor dug under the fence & waited for the little one. When she realized she wasn't coming, she tried to dig her way back into the yard. She never left again!

Even on her last day ... She loved a car ride with the windows down & chasing the ball in the field. She is our first baby ~ always and forever.
