Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
3/1/2002 - 1/11/2021Movado was my heart. I was 19 when I picked him up from the SPCA in Newport News, VA. Movado and another grey cat were playing. Movado didn’t have a tail which made him all the more special. I took him home and together we graduated from college and moved to Philadelphia… a new city where we had nobody. But we had each other. There’s not a single life event since I’ve been an adult that he wasn’t apart of. First job, new job, Promotion, New House, Engagement, Wedding, Death(s) he’s always been there.  We met Bydia 2 years after we moved to Philly and the three of us have been together ever since. Our engagement was certainly Movado approved :)  In 2012 Diesel joined our crew. Movado never truly cared for his “little brother” but because of his love for me, he tolerated his presence as long as he stayed at the bottom of the bed. Movado has lived in 6 different homes, lived in Virginia, Georgia and Philadelphia. He was the most chill cat I have met in my entire life. Never opting for the pet carrier..always the front car seat. The only cat I could sit outside with and just lay on a blanket and enjoy the sun. Movado was the people’s cat. Allergic, scared or “hate cats” NEVER applied to him. He simply made friends with everyone including those willing to take Benadryl just to be around him.

I always knew this day would come and the grief has been overwhelming. He truly was my heart and a piece of me died when he did. I will always cherish our 19 years together because no matter what happened, he was my source of comfort and unconditional love that can never be replaced.

Movado you truly were one of a kind and your spirit will live in me forever.

9/6/2010 - 1/12/2021On Tuesday, January 12, our sweetest girl transitioned peacefully in my arms, knowing until her last breath that she was loved to the moon and back. Shortly before the vet arrived, she ate a little whipped cream and licked the tears off my face. The past year of difficult medical procedures and deteriorating health could not extinguish her unassailable zest for life; the weekend before her body shut down because the cancer had spread to her kidneys and lungs, Lucy ran for a literal mile through the snow next to the lake, stopping occasionally to carefully sniff at clumps of grass and rabbit pellets. Mat and I finally made her get back into the stroller, but I'm pretty sure she would have gone for another mile if we'd let her. For the five years before she got sick, I would walk her for an hour and then make the move to turn back toward the house and she would plant herself on the ground as firmly as she could, trying to continue to pull me forward. Lucy never wanted to turn back. Those five years were full of marathon walks, endless couch cuddles, the occasionally tragic (for me)/thrilling (for her) rodent death, and fun hiking trips with our best friends Stefanie and Charlotte. Despite Lulu's extreme leash reactivity, Charlotte showed us that with the right dog and extremely slow intros, Lucy could get along with--and even live with and be very timidly bossed around by--another dog. I'm so glad that she got to experience that friendship, which made her so happy. Thank you to everyone near and far who sent us harnesses, toys, pet and human food, plants, and love over the past year. Goodbye, our Lucy Goose, Lulu, Bubbies, Luciana Dogarotti, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. You made every moment more joyous, and I'm so glad we had each other.Brooke SpragueEvanston, IllinoisJanuary 13, 2021

3/1/2007 - 1/12/2021Lucky will me missed and loved every day. 14 years with him was not enough time. Our “baby boy” will forever have a special place in our hearts and now in our memories❤️Debra Tucci-TherrienPalmetto, FloridaJanuary 13, 2021
5/1/2006 - 1/12/2021Josie was a black and tan beagle mix, as pretty and sweet as any dog there ever was. She was never needy or aggressively friendly, but when we would leave her alone in the house, she would go back into a our bedrooms and pull out a dirty t-shirt or underwear to take back to her bed to sleep on. Sometimes we would find several items of dirty clothing around her on the sofa when we would return home. It was very touching!James Hunter DesportesColumbia, South CarolinaJanuary 13, 2021

5/3/2003 - 1/12/2021Words cannot express how much we will miss our precious Sneakie. He was the kindest and most gentle giant, taking care of everyone else - including his brother Moses & our two daughters. Sneakie you have been a buddy to all of us, and we find ourselves looking for you everywhere. We can't believe you are not here with us, because you have been a part of our family for almost two decades. We will never forget you, and you will continue to live on in our hearts. We pray that you are with God in heaven, and able to once again prance outside, play & snuggle with all of our loved ones that we miss so much. We love you and miss you!Elisa BradleyCOLUMBUS, OhioJanuary 13, 2021
10/11/2007 - 12/29/2020Bernard "Barnie Milton" Fife was a helluva guy. From the day he stepped into my family's life he wreaked havoc, in both his great and terrible Barnie ways. He was emotional, had an attitude, and was stubborn... but that's what we loved about him, and will always love him for. I can't tell you how many things he's left his mark on... and I mean literally! He sank his teeth into everything, such as phones, remotes, and expensive anime figures from Japan... but no matter how much damage this guy caused us, we still loved him!!

What's remarkable about December 29th is it not only the day we adopted him in 2007, but the day he got to peacefully pass away in his home 13 years later, in 2020. It's like it comes full circle. I'm glad he got to leave us in the comfort of his own home peacefully, with every member of his family surrounding him. In the 13 years he blessed my family on this earth, he was a light in our life even when things got grim. Our memory of him will always remain a light that will continue to shine as bright as ever.

When things started to slow down for him, we began to worry. But then again, we thought he would be around forever, so we were afraid of the truth. Eventually, it became clear that Barnie didn't have much time left and so we chose to do what we believe is the most respectful thing for him, which was allowing him to pass in his home, surrounded by family. It was incredibly difficult, and still is!

You're probably here because you lost a pet, too. I know it's hard. It's so, so hard!! Please remember that by helping our pet leave this earth in the most peaceful way will hurt no matter what because you loved them. This way you can take the pain your pet is feeling and transfer it over to yourself, which is probably one of the most selfless and loving things you could ever do.

We love you, Barnie. Please never forget that.

Madeline “maddie”
5/1/2003 - 10/8/2020Dr. Hampton was absolutely amazing! This was a very heavy time for our entire family. Our sweet girl was with us for almost 18 years and our home just isn’t the same without her.. Losing her was like losing a family member, but the journey we took towards the end of her life couldn’t have been more comforting without the lap of love staff! The receptionist was also so wonderful. She got us registered and spoke in a gentle and reassuring tone of how great the Doctors were and how they knew exactly what they were doing and how empathetic they would be to our situation. She couldn’t have been more right! As soon as we scheduled our appointment Dr. Hampton treated Maddie and our family with empathy and care. She gave us our alone time before, during, and after saying our goodbyes to our sweet baby. She walked us through exactly how the visit would go before we started and how she would transferring her after. We decided to do a private cremation and the staff there was amazing as well. She was delivered back to our veterinarian in less than a week. Overall we couldn’t have been more sad to say Goodbye to our Maddie Girl, but Dr. Hampton and the entire team brought so much peace and closure to the end of an almost 18 year journey and we are thankful.Rhema WoodsRaleigh, North CarolinaJanuary 13, 2021
5/24/2007 - 1/10/2021Our beautiful boy was described by everyone as the coolest cat. He truly was.
The tv repair guy would come and our sweet baby would greet and give his two cents by chirping and head butting.
He had the best personality
He was a magnet. Wherever you were he was. He followed and snuggled as if you were drawn to him like a force.
I swear he was human as he could sense when you needed love and support
We are so grateful he chose us to be his mom and dad
