Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Indiana Jones
8/7/2008 - 8/4/2020You never forget your first dog.

Indiana Jones acquired over 850 documented visits to schools, mental hospitals, and assisted living facilities in his therapy dog work.

Indy was a PetSmart Training Demonstration Dog, Canine Good Citizen, AKC Therapy dog member, Be An Angel Therapy Dogs member, and Alliance of Therapy Dogs team member. For nearly a decade of his 12 years on earth, he contributed to healing the hearts of the young and old.

His Metal canine tooth cap was installed in 2010, his liposarcoma was defeated in 2018, and macular degeneration took over this year, ending the use of his back hips.

Indy changed the lives of so many for the better. He was honored with a small gathering to say goodbye until we meet again on 8/4/2020 to sail on The White Ship.

The week before his passing, he ate all the treats he could ever want, and for the last 4 months had family constantly with him at home and had visits from people in his life. It has been a paced, deeply thought about, and appropriately grieved over time process.

His White Ship sail away party consisted of doggy bakery cupcakes, cheddar bacon dog ice cream, and his family surrounding him at home as he transcended from our world to the next via euthanasia. The vet said it took much less time that usual for a dog his size to pass away. He was ready to go.

Immediately seen outside while carrying his body to the van for cremation was a brilliant rainbow. That was an unexpected comfort.

The body never seems to keep up with the spirit of a German Shepherd Dog. I miss you my friend.

8/17/2020 - 8/4/2020Mater was a beautiful boy who gave us so much love! He was so full of energy and so very smart! Mater bug will forever be our best friend . We will never forget to remember you boy! We went as a family to pick you up . When you were just a puppy almost 9 years ago! We fell in love with those beautiful eyes. Deciding on a name for you was much harder with five kids . In the end Dads name fit perfect! You were Mater and just as vibrant and fast . Our mater loved to play catch, get wet in the pool and thanksgiving turkey! He loved his best friend our boxer Longo. Saying good bye is one of the hardest things our family has had to do! We love you so very much and have missed you every second since . Our days will never be the same especially in the backyard on family fun days! Rest In Peace our sweet Boy ! We will take care of your brother Longo! We love you always!Christopher SteppBrandon, FloridaAugust 5, 2020
12/5/2005 - 8/4/2020Ginger, you were a wonderful, loving companion. Not a mean bone in your body. Always happy to go along with the program, except maybe when it came to a bath or a nail trim. But even then, you'd just wriggle away or lick us to get us to stop. Your attitude at the dog park was always "live and let live." You were the very definition of a laid-back dog, except perhaps when it came to squirrels or crickets. And you were a pretty girl -- no one could resist commenting on your natural mohawk hairdo or the long tendrils at the ends of your ears.

Lucy has been looking for you. We tell her you'll meet up with her again someday.

Miss you, girl.

7/9/2008 - 8/2/2020One day while working construction in Philadelphia, a group of boys saw you wondering the streets all alone and hungry and they scooped you up and brought you home and named you Sam. One of those boys was my son and that was nearly 12 years ago you came into our lives.
As each of the kids moved out and it became you and me and your brother Brownie, our bond grew and the three of us became inseparable the last 5 years. When you were diagnosed in June with bone cancer that had spread, my heart broke in a thousand pieces and although I knew we would lose you soon we continued to hope for the best and give you the best life and help you through the time you had left. You were so brave Sam and you never showed the pain you were in, you stayed strong for us until you couldn’t any longer. On August 2, you got your Angel Wings and no longer have to be strong for us, you are free now Sam and I know you are looking down on us still keeping us safe and will forever be our protector, our ‘security’.

You thought you were the one being rescued but it was the other way around. In so many ways, you rescued us! You were our protector, our confident, a big brother and mostly our friend, my friend! You had a special bond with each one of us and loved us in your special way. I will miss our walks, tucking you in at night and waking up with you in the morning. I will miss your snuggles, your smile, your loving looks and your caring eyes. What I wouldn’t give to have one of your hugs!

You were my favorite Hello and my hardest, saddest Goodbye ~ we love you Sammy!!

5/18/2008 - 8/4/2020We miss you Rico. The house is so quiet without you here to warn us about the trash being picked up, the people walking by on the sidewalk, and to help me find our house at the end of my walks (just listen for the barking). After over 12 years of sharing our lives, there's a giant hole where you should be.

We know you were ready to go and are happy you are back in spirit, able to be free of your failing body. We will cry and miss you and wish you were here because that's just how humans are, but we also know you are okay.

11/16/2008 - 8/1/2020Kai was one of a kind, as many owners will say about their own pets. He was smart (to smart at times) he loved children and didn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He loved everyone, even strangers and all he wanted to do was play and make friends. He was a big part of the past 11 years of my life and it's hard to think about not having him with me any more. He moved around the country with me, was with me through good times and bad and it was always nice to come home to the happy smile he always wore. Kai will be deeply missed by me and my family. He was as much a family dog as he was mine, always around and always where the people were because he loved being the center of attention. While my daily routine has changed and it feels empty at times, I just remember his smile, knowing that he's in a better place and not in pain.Joshua MinklerClermont, FloridaAugust 5, 2020
