Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Rocky (raccoon)
9/16/2009 - 2/17/2021Rocky (Raccoon), our beloved Border Terrier of almost 12 years, passed away peacefully at home with his lifelong Hooman friends by his side. We are comforted by the fact that Rocky lived a full life and spent every moment knowing that he was loved. Rocky was also known as Rock Star, Good Buddy, Rockyroo, Rockadoodle and The Prince. He was easily picked out of the pack as the Border with the crooked tail.
Rocky was adopted by his hooman parents Helen, Paul and family in September of 2009 from a border terrier professional show breeder, Tom Edge in Portsmouth Rhode Island. Rocky is survived by his hooman brothers and sister, Michael, Trevor, Stephen, and Nicole, by his canine sister Willa and by many amazing friends throughout the years.
Rocky arrived in our home small enough to fit in your hand but quickly made use of the couch to prop himself up to watch the world happen outside. Rocky began building loving relationships with all those who came in contact with him, whether it be a new family friend, local passerby, or whoever's house he visited with his family for an uninvited visit.

6/28/2007 - 2/15/2021It’s so quiet here now—I miss him. Jordan was a very vocal cat, and would stand by my apartment door and call to the people going by in the hall. He’d try to sneak into the hall as I was going in or out. Once when he slipped out he was just in time to meet the 2 year-old who lives down the hall—a magical moment for both of them. He was a big boy, but gentle—he never hissed or scratched in all the years I had him. He was friendly, but not super cuddly, but when he wanted to cuddle it was right up in your face. For such a big guy, he had the tiniest of purrs. I could only hear it when he was doing his up close and very personal cuddling. His tastes were pretty plain -- he rarely played with any of the fancy toys he had, and never ever would sleep in the soft beds we got, preferring the hard corner of a bookcase (after he pulled the books out, of course), the latest delivery box, or the shelf over the radiator, and, naturally, my bed. His favorite scratching place was the living room rug. Lately (being home all the time now), my favorite together time had been late afternoons. More and more in the last few years, he’d want to sit on my lap while I had my afternoon tea. I miss him—tea alone isn’t quite the same.Montclair, New JerseyFebruary 18, 2021
12/24/2010 - 2/15/2021Where to start...Zeus was our everything. Our first fur baby. He was such a sweet and funny boy. He kept me company so many times when my husband had to leave for work. He was our protector and baby. This house feels so empty without him at times. But knowing he is no longer in pain, due to cancer, and he is running around in paradise makes it a little easier to just breathe. We miss him with all of our heart. Thank you so much Lap of Love for helping us through this extremely difficult time.Stevie SkogerboeWest Jordan, UtahFebruary 18, 2021

1/7/2008 - 2/6/2021Bella was my sweet, sweet girl. She will always be remembered as the cat with the loudest purr. She was a total love bug to everyone she met. Cats like her are the reason I will continue to adopt/rescue.Erin HammockMilwaukee, WisconsinFebruary 18, 2021
4/12/2008 - 2/10/2021Meeka was my best friend, I've never known a cat who was so loyal and loving. She always wanted to be next to me, and kept me comforted and calm when things were hard. I know I will never find another cat like her, and the love she brought into my life was immense.Trevor BassetSeattle, WashingtonFebruary 18, 2021
8/27/2006 - 2/15/2021Our Nicky— she was such a good dog. She was special, an angel, and a beautiful soul. A kind and loving companion, she was supportive and always easy-going. We loved her to pieces and are blessed to have been a part of her family. We could take her anywhere and she would happily come along. We’ll miss her forever. She had this unforgettable disposition of friendly to all, sweet hearted, and whose face could make your day. She was perfect.Tristan MarcheseBay Shore, NY, New YorkFebruary 18, 2021
Mr. Cat
4/17/2011 - 2/16/2021Mr. Cat was a very unique, and often strange boy. He loved kisses and to be carried around like a baby, and would "hug" you as you held him by wrapping his head around your neck. He loved drinking from the sink, or any unattended glasses of water. He would greet us when we came home, or even if just walking by him. Though he did not care for dogs in the slightest, he genuinely liked and trusted nearly every human he came in contact with. And he had the loudest purr of any cat I've ever known. Losing him is truly heartbreaking, and I can never put into words how much he means to us. But, as it stated in my Lap of Love email confirmation, “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard". We were so lucky to have had Mr. Cat in our lives, even if it wasn't as long as we would have liked.Kim & Jeremiah BaumbachOrlando, FloridaFebruary 18, 2021
11/1/2004 - 2/6/2021Cali May was the "best doggone dog in the west" (and east and north and south for that matter). She was so loyal and the best watchdog. I always told people that she and I were joined at the heart because she loved me and everyone in the family unconditionally. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was the perfect pet and BFF (blonde furry friend). I thank God for this awesome gift of Cali to our family. Cali was especially a good gift to me from the Lord (every good gift and every perfect gift is from above). I love her forever and always.Debra FosterOak Point, TexasFebruary 17, 2021
