Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Just wanted to say that Dr. Brad Bates came to my house last Friday, of course not a call I ever wanted to make .My 11 year old Rottweiler Bubba was diagnosed with a mass cell tumor 2 weeks prior, was had appt to see oncologist that Friday but as the days went by Bubba was getting worse and worse , couldn't even walk the morning I called Dr Brad. . I knew that decisionthat I was dreading had come to light and it was time for Bubba to peacefully go to the rainbow bridge. I have never met a Dr with such compassion for animals. I cannot thank you enough for making Bubba's transition to the other side soo tranquil and peaceful with all the people that loved him and that he loved surrounding him. It was one of the hardesr things I've ever had to do. I guess what I really want to say is my bsn always said angels are among us in all different forms. I know believe that.
Thank you ,
The Arena family"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Madelyn Goocher, DVM"Thanks to Dr. Madelyn Goocher for her kindness to both Saffron and me. She really made the experience go as well as could be expected. She explained everything that was going to happen and let us take our time. She also sent a lovely sympathy card, and I was impressed by how many details she remembered about Saffron to mention in it. I would recommend Dr. Goocher and Lap of Love to anyone faced with this decision. I couldn't make Saffron well, but I could let him spend his last moments in the comfort of his own home, on my lap, in a peaceful environment."Lisa VaughanNew Orleans, LouisianaOctober 28, 2013Saffron's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Dr. Brad was with me throughout Brewster's last six weeks, getting and responding to updates on his condition until he collapsed at the end. He was there at the end to confirm the severity of the collapse and to help me let Brewster go with love and dignity in his own bed, at home, wrapped in my arms. i will forever be greatful for his allowing this tragic end to have grace and beauty and peace. Thank you."Craig BlackmanPhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaOctober 28, 2013

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Angela Bross, DVM"I first contacted Dr. Angela for an initial hospice care and assessment. I knew I wanted my Minnie Pearl to have the best most respectful goodbye I could give. The time was nearing I knew as I watched my girl weaken. I'm so glad I contacted Dr. Angela in advance. She came to meet my pack and she gave great pointers and provided medicines and home remedies that provided Minnie Pearl with an extended quality of life. Dr. Angela in providing the hospice care and getting acquainted with my entire pack and bonding gave the actual "day" a more dignified and personalized touch. Some stranger wasn't coming to do the "deed" but rather a friend was coming, an Angel, who understood our needs because she spent time getting to know and caring for Minnie Pearl and meeting the rest of her pack. Minnie's quality of life was extended by the hospice care. They bonded and it made the "time" more loving and more personal. Months after meeting, the day came. We prepared and planned. Dr. Angela met us at Minnie Pearl's favorite place - the beach. Though I had to lift all 100lbs of her out of my truck, Minnie was able to have one last romp in the water with her canine brother and the rest of her family. Once Minnie finally collapsed in weariness and with an exhausted smile, Dr. Angela led her to the next journey... a pain free journey. I feel an Angel graced us and a true friend enabled us to provide Minnie Pearl in her last months, the best, most respectful, least painful life ever. Thank you Dr. Angela for allowing us to provide an ending that Minnie Pearl deserved. In love forever and ever, Minnie Pearl and her entire family. GOD BLESS."Nicole Carlsen VictorioNewport News, VirginiaOctober 27, 2013
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Charles Jameson, DVM"Dear Dr Charles and Melissa,

The only good thing about this horrible situation is the way he left us... Things could not have been more stress free and peaceful for him. You guys allowed him to leave this life in a way that couldn't have been easier on him. I applaud the service you offer and cannot express how much I appreciate the way it was all handled. It breaks my heart that he's gone but Lap of Love was truly a gift to us in one of the hardest times of my life.. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart, my soul, my everything!

Lap of Love Veterinarian: David Rousseau, DVM"David was wonderful! From first to last he showed such caring and compassion for me, Gracie, and August Linden. He clearly loves animals and the work he does to help them and their humans. Even August Linden, who is often shy around new people, allowed him to rub his tummy! He gave us the time we needed but didn't delay in doing what was necessary. His comfort with what he was doing gave me comfort as well. The time I spent with him and Gracie and August Linden as Gracie made the transition from this life and left for Rainbow Bridge was peaceful and loving. Being able to have this happen in our home, where Gracie was happiest and most comfortable, made all the difference in the world. Being able to hold Gracie before, during, and after and bring her out of the house and kiss her one last time helped. Through it all David's support and care made it feel like he was someone I'd known a long time and could trust on one of the worst days of my life. Thank you, David, for everything you did for us -- and for all you do in the wider world!"Stephanie MachellSaugus, MassachusettsOctober 27, 2013Gracie's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"I would highly recommend Lap of Love. After we made the very tough decision, my first priority was to make it as less stressful as possible for our sweet girl. I found Lap of Love, checked with my vet to make sure they were reputable, and made that extremely tough call. They were very kind, understanding, and extremely patient as I lost my voice several times through my tears. Dr. Barry was so kind, explained everything to the detail that we were comfortable with and honored every request we had. Everything was done in our time and he showed great compassion and patience, even when I could barely talk through the tears. This allowed our baby to pass in my arms in the comfort of our own home instead of a sterile exam room at our vet. Our other dog was allowed to see that she had passed and I think this was truly helpful. While a little depressed, she's not wandering the house or looking outside for her sister - it's like she too is at peace with what had to occur. Using Lap of Love has been a blessing to our family in every way. Thank you for the valuable service you perform."Linda TClearwater, FloridaOctober 24, 2013

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Billmaier, DVM"I would like to broadcast to all Atlanta area pet owners that having your beloved pet leave this life at home is by far the best way for pet and owner, but a testimonial is the best I can do.
I had to let my 21 year old cat go recently, and even though it was one of the most heart wrenching experiences of my life, Katie came within hours of my decision, and the way she handled the whole event, with such love and tenderness, it was easy to see that it could not have been any better for my best friend and I. She brought a sense of peace and empathy that gave me the strength to follow through with what I knew in my heart was the right thing to do.
I only wish that more pet owners knew this was available. To think that my beloved cat of 21 years might have had the last moments in his life be at a vet clinic, with all the strange smells, sounds, and people, instead of in my arms and in his favorite chair, surroundedby those who loved him, makes me feel that I did the best for him that I could have done. It is still painful, but I am at peace that it could not have been any better for him.
For anyone reading this and trying to make the difficult decision, you can be sure that you have found the right place to get the help you need."

Dr. Dana blessed us by coming to our home which allowed Chester to spend his last moments with us, at home, without being traumatized by making a trip to the vet. It allowed us to share Chester's last minutes together without causing him (or us) unnecessary physical or emotional pain."Ralph and Carter ThompsonDurham, North CarolinaOctober 21, 2013Chester P. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"We were told about Lap of Love from a friend and we knew instantly that we wanted that for our girl. We knew that the Osteosarcoma (cancer) would be getting to painful for her to be able to jump in the truck to take her to the vet. My husband called and spoke to Rose and Dr Dani and was completely impressed from the first phone call. We continued to stay in contact with Dr Dani asking any and all questions we needed answers to and she was quick to respond to us.
We knew the time had come when Lexi was experiencing more and more pain than ever before. I made the phone call to Rose to set up the date for them to visit our home. Rose was very patient with me as I tried to talk in between the tears. That was the hardest phone call I have ever had to make.
Dr Katie came to our home and immediately you felt like you had a connection with her. We can’t begin to express the gratitude we have for Dr Katie, so sweet and compassionate. Got right on the floor with us and loved on Lexi and talked with us about her. Dr Katie allowed our Golden Retriever to be in the room with us. She asked when we are ready and stayed with us for as long as we needed her. She was the angel we needed within our home.
Putting Lexi down was the hardest decision my husband and I had to make. Having Dr Katie and Lap of Love there allowed us to realize that we did it all for the right reason."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"Today we had to make a painfully difficult decision in putting our beloved yellow lab Mattie to sleep. From the time the vet came to our home everything seemed to become a complete blur. I can only remember the vet's name as Katie and she said that she worked out of Gainsville, Fl. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate and allowed the entire process to be as comforting as one could have ever expected.
By the time the process was over we felt more secure about our decision and truly believed that Mattie was in a better place. Unless you are a dog lover, one can never fully understand the complete joy and ultimate pain these wonderful animals can bring.
We are so very grateful to have had her in our lives and will miss her enormously.
We were introduced to Lap of Love through our Vet and can only say that their service went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis, DVM, CHPV"Dr. Dana came to our home on the hardest day of my life. She helped us send Jacob Dog back to the spirit world where he is now free from all pain. Dr. Dana allowed us to give Jacob the best gift we could give to him: the gift of dying at home on our sofa, in my lap with his family surrounding him. He was incredibly at peace and he knew what was happening and he was ready. It has taken me over a month before I could write about this experience and I still cry. But Dr. Dana gave us the best option for a very difficult decision and we thank her."Rick WilliamsRaleigh, North CarolinaOctober 19, 2013Jacob's Pet Memorial
