Dr. SamThis was my first time losing a pet and I cannot put into words just how grateful I am to have had Dr. Sam Counts guide my family and me through this process. First off, Dr. Counts had a huge audience (me, my partner, my parents, two friends, someone calling in over FaceTime). Second, I was in hysterics pretty much for all of the process (I'm a loud crier, an ugly crier). Third, I made extra requests, asking for a snout print, a snout print done perfectly. She put up with all of that pressure with so much patience, so much grace, so much kindness. She had a knack for injecting levity and ease at all of the right moments, while also making sure that the big moments felt no less important and no less beautiful. I'm not sure what I've even written so far adequate captures just how wonderful she is. There is no question that we were blessed to have her and any family who will have her as their vet in the future will be so extremely lucky. Thank you Dr. Counts for being there with us during this process. We will never forget you.
