Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"At one of the hardest times having to have my precious boy Pepper put down Lap of love helped me through it. Doctor Barry was so kind & compassionate and that meant the world to me. Pepper passed away very peacefully on December 19th. My heart just breaks to let my baby boy go, but Doctor Barry helped me gain an even clearer perspective that it was a kind thing to do as my boy was suffering and in a lot of pain. I couldn't keep my baby around for myself. As heartbreaking as it is to let him go, I had to think of Pepper and end his suffering. Rest in peace my sweet Pepper, mommy will forever love you & miss you."Lori MartinLutzDecember 21, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"Dr. Brad came to see my precious Mr. Four (yellow lab) this morning for a hospice consultation. Four has been through 2 near death experiences in the past year. At 11 1/2, we understand that he is closer to the end of his life and wanted Dr. Brad to assess his pain level so that he is comfortable.
This was not Dr. Brad's first visit to my home. He helped my beloved cat Emily cross the rainbow bridge last December. I already knew how wonderful he was and had no hesitation in calling him to help Four.
Dr. Brad is the most caring, compassionate, gentle, supportive and knowledgable vet I have ever met. He did not rush us and what touched me the most was how patient he was with my 10 year old daughter. She originally did not want to be in the room when he came, but we encouraged her to stay in the room and leave if she felt the need. She had a list of questions for Dr. Brad and he PATIENTLY listened to EVERY single one of them and responded to each question...even if they werent directly related to Four's immediate condition.
I just want everyone to know how wonderful he is and if anyone is considering his services, don't hesitate..you won't be disappointed!!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cindi Worrall, DVM"We said good bye our dog Kossi last week. He was diagnosed with cancer on his liver and in his lungs. Dr. Cindi Worrall was a huge comfort during the process. She is very calm and compassionate. After Kossi greeted her, he got back on his bed and put his head in her lap while she petted him. I think he knew she was there to set him free. Using Lap of Love gave Kossi a stress free and peaceful passing. Thank you so much"Becky & Mike PasquarelloRoyersfordDecember 20, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady"Dr. Lauren was amazing and such a tremendous comfort to me that day. Matisse left his little body in the most peaceful and loving way -- just as I prayed he would. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"It was a week ago today that Dr. Barry came to put our lovely Lillie to rest. She had dealt with the pain of pancreatitis since last August and we could not bear to have her go through that any longer. Lillie would have been 10 at Christmas. Dr. Barry was terrific from the start. He was kind and gentle and patient with us while we went through the experience. We would highly recommend the services of Lap of Love to others."Patricia and Tom HalePinellas ParkDecember 17, 2014

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Gardner"Dr Mary Gardner was truely and Angel that showed up at our home and helped our beloved Corkey cross the Rainbow Bridge. She was so loving and compassionate to our family and most of all to Corkey. Corkey was a member of our family for 15 years and was suffering from cancer at the end of her days. Dr Mary allowed her to be in her own bed surrounded by her loving family as she went to play in the green meadows on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Dr Mary will forever be in our gratitude for helping get our sweet Corkey to this place free of pain and suffering."Barbara StewartTrabuco CanyonDecember 17, 2014Corkey's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Juliana Lyles, DVM"Making the decision to put my beloved dog, Cookie, to rest was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, yet Dr. Lyles made every step of the process much easier. From the beginning when I was trying to figure out the right time put Cookie to rest, Dr. Lyles helped me weigh the situation without asserting her opinion. She put me more at ease when I didn't think it was possible. When she came over, she helped my entire family say goodbye and treated Cookie with the best of care throughout the whole process. When it was time to put Cookie in her car after he passed on, Dr. Lyles rode with him in her lap. This gesture was so meaningful to me since it didn't make a difference to Cookie after passing away, yet Dr. Lyles knew it would help me feel better. At the one month anniversary, I received a beautiful card from Dr. Lyles in the mail - it helped my grieving process to know that she was thinking of Cookie a month later.

Dr. Lyles is talented at her job, has the highest standards for care, is deeply empathetic, and has an unparalleled kindness. I miss Cookie every day yet I take great comfort in knowing that the 16 years Cookie had ended peacefully thanks to Dr. Lyles."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Juliana Lyles, DVM"With the assistance of Dr. Juliana Lyles our sweet and loving Willow was able to cross over with serenity,
peace, grace and dignity. At this tremendously difficult time I have to admit we still unsure if we were doing the right
thing at the right time and way. Upon Dr. Juliana's arrival, she exuded compassion. Even our skeptical
Sweet Willow went over to her to be pet. Dr. Juliana took the time to get to know Willow as well as all of us there.
She was wonderful with Willow which lessened our anxiety. She explained and answered all our questions thoroughly.
She was so understanding, caring and compassionate that when the time came we were ready. Even Willow seemed
to say it's ok, I'm ready. Under candlelight Willow curled up in her bed peacefully with her stuffed animals, blankets and
went to sleep gently with her loved ones and the new friend she had made."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Juliana Lyles, DVM"After making the difficult decision to end the life of our beloved Drusus, I contacted Lap of Love. Dr. Juliana Lyles responded with compassion, understanding and sincere emotional support. She listened to my concerns and counseled me about the process, Although very caring, she was always professional and I felt I could trust her with this horrible but necessary deed. Upon arrival at our home (on less than 24hr notice) she immediately greeted my golden retriever and then my family and I-that gave me further assurance that she genuinely and sincerely cared about our furry son. She made his death as beautiful, gentle and peaceful as it could be given the circumstances. Dr. Juliana demonstrated the utmost competence and proficiency in her care and we are grateful to have found her."Pat VoissemGlen EllynDecember 16, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"When my beloved cat was diagnosed with aggressive cancer, I made the decision to provide hospice care until she told me she was ready to go. At that time I found Dr. Brad and he spoke with me on the phone and told me all the details of how a home euthanasia is performed (I asked because details comfort me). He also listened to my fears and offered support and advice regarding quality of life. I used the quality of life scale and cared for my Jinx Kiki until the day she very clearly was ready. Dr. Brad was able to come the same day and helped talk me through my decision. He was very polite and kind, and responsive to my cat's and my needs. We arranged her on a little nest of blankets on my lap and Dr. Brad gave me all the time I needed to pet her and talk to her before she and I were ready. It was the hardest decision I have ever made and the best one. I am so grateful for this service. Kiki was comfortable at home with her favorite things around her; I didn't have to take her away from her companion cat; her other parent was able to be present through video conferencing; she was in my lap being loved as she passed. Her death was so gentle and peaceful I was unaware of the exact moment of passing."Charlie McNabbPhiladelphiaDecember 15, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd"We ended up going with Lap of Love for an in home euthanization. And despite that this was a horrible, terrible thing to let go of our beloved Nanook, I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Annie. She was so compassionate and kind and made a terrible day as good as it could have been. We are so very, very appreciative of her that words cannot even begin to express our gratitude and thanks for helping our beloved family member transition onto the other side. Merci, Je ne sais pas comment vous remercier. Nous vous sommes extrêmement reconnaissants. Merci bien de votre assistance. <3"Andrea HarstonOviedoDecember 15, 2014Nanook's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jen Bansel, DVM"Our cat Julie of 15 wonderful years, was taken ill suddenly last week. Julie absolutely hated going to visit the veterinarian. I was so thankful to find the Lap of Love services for her. For Julie, her end hours of life were warm, compassionate, comfortable and peaceful. Thanks to Dr. Jeni Bansel for her understanding and compassion of our time of grief. In my belief, it is a beautiful experience when you can be there for the beginning of your pets life and be there for their end. It is even more wonderful when you can give them comfort in their own home, with familiar surroundings. Julie's passing was so peaceful. It was our last act of love to a special cat that will forever leave paw prints on our hearts. Rest in peace our baby girl...and love and prayers to your guardian angel, Dr. Jeni Bansel."Judy KintnerCedar KeyDecember 15, 2014

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"Dr. Brad Bates was a resource for us from the first phone consultation to the last minutes of Hector's life. Hector had a brain tumor that made him walk like he was drunk. Eventually, he could not get up on his own; his muscles atrophied, his back legs were skinny noodles. He started to lose control of the left side of his mouth and his ability to swallow. We went pretty far to try to buy him (and us) some more time, but after cyber knife treatment in Yonkers, we really only had prednisone to work with. After all the specialists were done, Dr. Brad became our guide, helping us with the dosages and other palliative treatments we could use, like antibiotics and even simple things like Gas-Ex for discomfort. That level of attention was important to us, especially when every little comfort makes a difference, for us if not for Hector. We were reassured to have a vet behind us as we tweaked things to make Hector as comfortable as possible. Dr. Brad was sensitive, empathetic, and patient, kind and gentle in his bedside manner. He was there to witness Hector's final treat of tiramisu cake. He laughed and delighted with us at Hector's gusto, and understood our desire to let Hector go while he could still eat and walk. He helped us find the right balance for us and supported us through our decision. We'll never forget how he was a part of this experience."Katherine and Kenji Yoon AkaikePhiladelphiaDecember 13, 2014

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady"On 7 December 2014, we had to say goodbye to our dog of 13 years, Dutch. Dr. Lauren came to our house and was so nice. Of course I cried the whole time and said my goodbyes to my protector and sweet "Dutchie". This was a hard time for our family. Dr. Lauren was compassionate and took great care of our dog, she took care of the cremation and was a great help in this difficult time. Thank you so much Lap Of Love, especially Dr. Lauren, for taken care of Dutch. Dutch, I will see you again and we will miss you."Robert, Bea and Jada TaylorTempleDecember 12, 2014

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"My family and I are so thankful for Dr. Brad. Our beloved Beans was the light of our lives and made our house a home. As she aged, her pain and suffering become intolerable and we knew we had to make the best decision for her. Dr. Brad was not only able to help us make that decision with confidence, but was able to implement that choice with sensitivity, love and kindness. His compassion and warmth guided Beans into a sense of comfort I imagine she has not felt in years. She gently passed in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family, and with her head in my lap. I never imagined that a passing could be so peaceful. I've often heard that people feel calm and relief with the passing of their suffering loved ones, but never thought that could be true, Dr. Brad proved it could be, and Beans, my family, and I are forever grateful for the service he provided. Thank you Dr. Brad and Lap of Love"Kelly MarieNew EgyptDecember 12, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"The best thing we did for Thor was have Lap of Love come to the house and the best thing Lap of Love did for us was send Dr. Barry. I am sure all of your veterinarian's are equally as good but Dr. Barry was perfect for us. This gentle man with the gentle voice continuously stroked and spoke reassuring to Thor while Tim and I held him and told him how much we loved him. After taking him to the vets for 4 straight days of testing, x-rays and blood work this dog was where he wanted to be, home. It was peaceful and stress free and you made an otherwise unbearable situation bearable. Dr. Barry the respect and love you showed our boy will stay in my mind for a long time. My grieving is made easier because of how peaceful it was for him at the end.
Thank you always, Dr. Barry."
