Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Hogan, DVM"I will always be grateful to Dr. Erin for helping us say goodbye to Jake. She was so gentle and kind, very patient and understanding. I knew that morning it was time to let Jake go and I was panicked that the vet we had called 3 yrs prior, only made house calls on Mon & Fri. I searched the internet and found Lap of Love and Dr. Erin. She came that same afternoon, and what an Angel. She made Jake comfortable as well as us. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Dr. Erin."jan banningriversideAugust 25, 2014Jake's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Grant"Dr. Amanda was the Veterinarian who helped us say goodbye to our failing dog Blue. We were very nervous about our decision to put Blue down. He had a brain tumor and a tumor in his nasal passage. His skull had actually shrunken down on one side and he was in a lot of pain, but still had an appetite and was so engaged with us, waging his tail, following us around, etc. Dr. Amanda assured us that because our pets love us so much they will never show their pain and Labs especially will be like this and will never turn away from food. It was just what we needed to hear to take our fear and indecision away.

She allowed us to take our time and she really listened to our stories and requests. She helped us wrap him up and carry him to the burial site we had prepared for him and didn't leave until we were ready to let go.

Thank you Dr. Amanda. We will never forget you or Blue and you will always have a special place in our hearts. You are an ANGEL."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender"Buster Mathews filled my life with joy and love for 14 years. I think the hardest thing was to see he was in to much pain to live very much longer and the best part was meeting Katie . From the minute Katie walked in Buster fell in love with her. He knew she was coming to help him, I think. Six days later, Katie came back and the reaction was the same - Buster went right to her. I had the room ready for my Buster, with 5 comforters on the floor for him and soft music going and after spending all morning with him at a little after 1:00 Dr. Katie started giving Buster the med's to help him relax - we both talked to him and just as she said he started snoring - he was a sleep - then the med's to help him pass. He was so ready, he had hurt enough, he was tired and passed so peacefully. She helped me give my sweet Buster - the best gift I could give him. Being in his home, with his brother and sister and his mom right by his side, to fall a sleep and pass on. It was so holy - if we could only be as good to humans.... My hat is off to the company and more grateful - I couldn't be. That Buster who hated riding in a car and hated vets - did not have to though any more than just peace, in passing. I thank God for Katie, she was like an angel coming to carry Buster home. Not that I hope to call her again but - I will if my other two dogs need her. What a wonderful way to help a pet go on to heaven. Buster - I will see you again and I am sure you will tell me you love me for finding Katie and the Lap of Love :). Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kara Becker, DVM"Dr. Kara was absolutely amazing. We were so worried that Caesar would be scared if his final moments were in a vet office so we called Lap of Love to do it at home. Dr. Kara came to our home and was so kind and spoke so softly and soothingly to us as we were both emotional wrecks and could hardly see. She talked us through the entire process and even spent a few minutes petting Caesar and trying to bond with him. She was so gentle with our little boy that she made the whole experience so calming for our little guy and us. I would recommend Lap of Love to anyone that has to go through the heart wrenching decision to let go of a beloved dog. Because of Dr. Kara and Lap of Love, our final moments with our boy were as good as they could possibly be and definitely the best decision we could have made for how to send our Caesar to the Rainbow Bridge."Dan & Mandi GrueberArlington HeightsAugust 20, 2014Caesar's Pet Memorial

She waited until I could speak. Dr. Diana, she was great, and supported us through the saddest/hardest day of my families life. She explained everything to me and the kids, which really helped. She gave us tons of hugs, and treated our dog like she knew him forever, that really made us feel better. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"I don't think you are ever ready to let a member of your family go but you have to be ready to let them go when you know it means no more pain for them. Petey was a big part of our family and Dr. Barry made this painful memory easier. We knew Petey had cancer and was handling it well but then he started getting worse pretty quickly. His back legs had given out on him and he wasn't able to walk anymore. Dr. Barry reassured us that we were doing the right thing and that it was time to let Petey go. Dr. Barry treated Petey like he had known him the 12 twelve years he was with us. He was patient with us and was willing to stay with for as long as it took. We are so grateful that Lap of Love was there for us and Petey. Lap of Love allowed us to have this very private moment in the place Petey knew the most - our home. Petey now has his wings because we know, All dogs go to heaven!"Diane DawkinsLand O LakesAugust 18, 2014
