Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"Our baby was the best kitty ever , she was very special in every way. We rescued her 12 years ago and my beautiful loving wife provided Rouge with unconditional love. It was deep sadness in our hearts when she suddenly got ill with no hope for recovery. All the love and all the money could not save our precious baby. We heard so many wonderful testimonials about Lap of Love and their compassion, empathy and kindness and knew Rouge would be in loving hands. Drs Annie Dion-Byrd proved to be just what we expected, Kind and Compassionate. She displayed great care and love to Rouge, my wife and myself. Her staff prior also displayed kindness and compassion and in such a difficult time families really need such caring folks. If you are losing a loved one please contact these beautiful caring folks its important not only to you but more importantly to your pets in their final moments."John MuschaweckKissimmee, FloridaJanuary 8, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"Dr. Katie Stender was a Godsend for us. Our 14-year-old Siamese Eli was failing….. After first examining our sweet boy, Dr. Katie assured us that we were doing the right thing. She was extremely knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate, and her gentleness made an awful situation more bearable. We miss Eli terribly and will never forget him. We’ll also never forget Dr. Katie’s kindness."Robert and Elissa DevensSt. Augustine, FloridaJanuary 8, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Abigail Shearin, VMD, PhD"The kindness, compassion and genuine concern that Dr. Abigail showed for our Tiger was unlike anything I've experienced. She was soft spoken, but absolutely clear and confident with the information she gave to us about Tiger's condition. My husband and I knew that our poor senior kitty had a tough battle with Type II Diabetes: She managed very well for almost two years after her diagnosis before she took a turn for the worse this past weekend. Left with the choice of either bundling her up in frigid temperatures and risking having her uncomfortable and anxious at a veterianian's office, while she was frail and unwell, we chose to contact Lap of Love. This amazing service brought our loved family member peace, and a compassionate transition over the Rainbow Bridge. I don't wish any pet lover to have to make this final decision: But this decision was the right one for us. We were at home, together as a family, holding our beloved kitty while we said our goodbyes. I will be forever grateful that she was completely at peace in her own home, surrounded by warmth and love. Thank you."Jillian HarrisPhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaJanuary 7, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"Dr. Annie was wonderful to our kitty Oliver, and to us. She was empathetic and explained everything perfectly. She took her time, and made sure we were prepared for each part of the process. It was nice to have a cat-person there who understood exactly what we were going through. She even told us some of the things we were feeling, but couldn't say ourselves. She was the perfect person to help our Oliver. Thank you, Dr. Annie."Amanda YoungSt. Cloud, FloridaJanuary 7, 2018Oliver's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"In a short amount of time my rescue lab/boxer Hailey starting having grand Mal seizures and was rushed to the Emergency Vet and diagnosed with Brain Cancer. Her little head had so much cancer there was nothing that could be done, the neurologist said she may have 6 months at the most. I took her home and she declined rapidly and continued to have the seizures. I knew that this was in no way a way for Hailey to live. I would rather suffer than watch her suffer. After being up all night I made the call to Laps of Love and Dr. Jennifer Walters was at my home within 2 hours. I could hardly function knowing the decision the I made I was not ready to let her go. Discussing all of what took place in such a short amount of time Dr. Jen was comforting and helped me understand that I was making the right choice. .having Hailey for ten years she was my everything. Dr. Jen asked questions about Hailey and sat there and loved on Hailey with me. I never felt rushed or that she needed to get to the next appointment.

Hailey and I were surrounded by people that loved her when she passed. Everything went so smoothly. She even let Hailey eat of all of her treats that she brought I am truly thankful that I called Laps of Love. Everything from the initial call to receiving Hailey's ashes was 5 Star. Highly recommend. In the darkest time of my life Dr. Jen was there to comfort both of us. Beyond Blessed. Thank you"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Loren Gassler, DVM"For the second time in less than a year, we've endured the heartache of helping a beloved pet to the Rainbow Bridge. And for the second time, Dr. Loren was the gift who was sent to us to guide us through this most difficult time. Her compassion is unparalleled and she exudes such serenity. She truly eased our unimaginable pain and provided such a beautiful departure for our kitty. Once again, Dr. Loren, we are forever grateful."Chris WilsonClearwater, FloridaJanuary 7, 2018Park's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Beth Meadow, DVM"I can not thank Lap of Love for helping our fur baby go into the light. It was such a hard thing to go through. It really helped that our vet Beth Meadow was so compassionate. She let us take our time. It was very emotional and I felt completely at ease with Beth. She is truly an angel on earth."Jackie TerrySterling, VirginiaJanuary 7, 2018Snoopy Terry's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"When we adopted Buddy, we made a commitment to take care of him and bring him into our family. Over the next seven years, we ate with him, slept with him, partied with him and nursed him through his medical problems. The love and companionship he gave us allowed us to grow as a family and healed wounds we bore. Then, we could no longer fix what ailed our best friend and struggled with the dilemma.

Dr. Heather entered our home with a quiet confidence and an obvious empathy. She helped us to act on what we already knew deep in our heart of hearts - we had to help Buddy past the tragedy of terminal cancer that medicine could not treat. He deserved dignity and he deserved to be spared the pain of further disease.
Dr. Heather patiently guided us through the passage, caring for us as much as for our cherished friend Buddy. She brought a calm into the strife, a resigned dignity to the uncertainty and a measured resolve to the task of surrendering our loved one to the universe from which he came.

Buddy passed so peacefully that his spirit remained undaunted. Her skillful hands caressed us and Buddy. Her love was palpable to all.

Dr. Heather courageously guided us through the cruel breach where man's best friend lives only a fraction of the "three score and ten" years meted out to us.

Buddy is missed, but that is the void of seeing his bed but not his face, seeing his toys but not his waggin tail. But we have every confidence that we fulfilled our commitment to care for Buddy till his dyin' day. And we could not have realized that goal without the blessed intercession of Dr. Heather. She provided the means to allow us to feel that we have done everything we could for our beloved Buddy. No regrets.

A thousand thanks to Dr. Heather Manfredi and Lap of Love."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"After 14.5 years we had to make the difficult decesion to send our beloved Boxer “Ruger” to the rainbow bridge. We were hesitant to use anyone other than our current vet however a colleague at work mentioned lap of love and thier services. This ended up being the best decision we ever made. From the customer service agent Bethany, to meeting Dr. Jen Walters, who was the sweetest and most empathetic veterinarian we’ve ever met, they made the entire situation very comfortable for our family. Dr Jen. made the process as easy as possible under the circumstances and you could feel that the entire staff at lap of love truly cared and didn’t treat us like a number, rather a person about to lose their family pet of almost 15 years. I would absolutely recommend anyone to lap of love if they ever have to go through this unfortunate experience, the journey of life. Ruger was our first family dog and was a pet for a 1/3rd of our lives. Lap of love truly lives up to their name and we are fortunate to have such a pleasant experience with such a great staff from start to finish. The comfort of being at our home, we felt it was best for not only our pet, but selfishly for us as well.

Sincerely,

Tommy and Tara"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sandra Simko, DVM"I can not express my deepest gratitude for Dr. Sandra and her sympathetic, caring nature. From the moment she came through our door, my family & I knew she was an angel of mercy. My boy Samson had congestive heart disease. What was amazing, is when Dr. Sandra came through the front door, Samson stood up and wagged his tail. It was something he hadn't done in hours.
Dr. Sandra explained everything to us. When the time had come, she was so gentle with Samson. She knew he was a true love to the point, even Dr. Sandra felt our pain and was tearing up as well. We all knew that when Samson had left this Earth and went to Heaven, he left, at home, with dignity and surrounded by the unconditional love from his family. Sammy, my 12 year old boy, will be forever in our hearts. And Dr. Sandra and this amazing service/program will have our unconditional gratitude and appreciation for everything that was done for my boy. God Bless you Lap of Love."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"Lap of Love was a true blessing. From the first phone call to the moment Macey left home with Dr. Morgan, I was treated with such kindness and understanding. Macey was my baby, and Dr. Morgan helped me through this very difficult time. In fact, it was as peaceful as I could have ever hoped for. Not long on words here..... just so thankful for what you do."LeAnn BeardenKirkwood, MissouriJanuary 6, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tiffany Matheson, DVM"I want to thank Dr. Tiffany and Lap of Love for helping us when it was time for our precious Lucky to cross the Rainbow Bridge. She was so compassionate and caring and helped us through each step in our time. Our precious boy passed so peacefully and in his own bed at home. This is a wonderful organization and I am so thankful that we found them."Susan JettPort St. Lucie, FloridaJanuary 6, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sarah Clarke, DVM"First off, thank you to Lap of Love for providing this service. Nothing is more gut-wrenching than taking your beloved pet to a place where they typically don't like to go, to die on a cold, metal table and then having to carry them back home (we have a nice place on our farm to keep them with us forever). Having a special person like Dr. Sarah Clarke come to our home (at night and out in the boondocks where she did not know the area) and help our beloved Annie cross over the Rainbow Bridge while laying on our living room floor in front of a nice fire made a difficult event so much easier. Dr. Clarke is an amazing human being, as well as a good vet. She was kind, warm, caring and sympathetic. If she is typical of the vets that you employ, you truly have an amazing organization. Even Lisa, who first took my phone call, came across the phone line as a deeply caring and sympathetic person. Again, thank you for being there for us. We will be eternally grateful for what you do for us."Ed & Lisa GoodingMontpelier, VirginiaJanuary 6, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"On January 2nd, 2018 we said goodbye to our little girl Emma. This was a difficult decision but in the best interest of our little dog of nearly 16 years. We called Lap of Love and Dr. Annie came to our home to help us say goodbye. She was patient and kind and very compassionate from the moment she came into our home. Our little girl passed peacefully in our home surrounded by loved ones. What stands out in my mind the most is when we carried our little girl to Dr. Annie's car and she was standing with the passenger door opened and said she is riding up front with me. How beautiful. Thank you Dr. Annie for helping us through this very difficult time. We miss our little Emma dearly but know that she is now at peace in heaven."Chris & Debbie CorvaiaApopka, FloridaJanuary 6, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Vaziri, DVM"It has taken me two months to find words for this testimonial. While it is still short, it is backed by much appreciation and love. Dr. Tina sincerely entered our home. She brought small but sweet words of reality about our pet and situation. Her presence was gracious. While her time there wasn't ideal, her follow up and sympathy was genuine and felt in our home. We thank her very much, and Lap of Love, for giving us the opportunity to spend our last moments together in the place we loved most."Valerie and Emily JanzHouston, TexasJanuary 5, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"We cannot thank what Dr. Carrie did for us and Lizzie enough. She's an amazing person and doctor and using Lap of Love helped us so much that we really cannot express our gratitude. I cannot imagine doing this any other way and appreciated it greatly. The patience she showed and the support she gave us made a horrible situation as good as it could have been. We are so happy with Dr. Carrie and what Lap of Love provided us. One of the best decisions we've ever made. Thank you!"Scott ASt. Louis, MissouriJanuary 5, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Dr. Toby came to us last week and took care of our kitty. The experience could not have been any other. Dr. Toby is kind, gentle and expert. I will call on him or on LapofLove for all of our pets. I will never again haul a sick or dying animal to the vet's office to be put down in a strange place or a hated place."Las Vegas, NevadaJanuary 5, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Green, DVM"My husband and I were so grateful Dr. Green was able to come out to help our sweetest Sierra have a peaceful passing at home with her brother, Eli (the cat) right beside him. It was one of or THE hardest times we've experienced. It meant so much to know she was comfortable in her own home in such loving hands. I'm so grateful to Dr. Katie for coming out on New Year's Day and taking care of our fur baby."Abby Ross-KennedyNeptune Beach, FloridaJanuary 5, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Nil Wilkins, DVM"My mini schnauzer would have been 16 January 21st. She had doggie dementia. A friend recommend Lap of Love. I looked them up and reviewed the website. I found it was very informative. Helped me make the decision to schedule in home euthanasia. Dr. Nil showed up to my house. She was very caring and explained the process. I'm so happy I decided to do this. I know my dog was ready. I highly recommend them. I picked up my dogs ashes and they had a nice urn with her name engraved. Lap of Love is awesome!!! Dr. Nil was so kind and caring."Stacy AlfonsoTampa, FloridaJanuary 5, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lisa Littlejohn, DVM"The day we had to let our Lucky dog cross the rainbow bridge was one of the most heart-wrenching days we have ever experienced. We were the lucky ones to have had Lucky in our lives for 15 of his 17 years he spent on earth. As it became apparent that Lucky was in pain, we made the decision to contact our local veterinarian, Midway Animal Hospital, to find out if one of their vets would come to our home to tend to Lucky. They recommended we contact Lap of Love. Dr. Lisa Littejohn was one of the most caring, compassionate people I have ever met. She understood our love for Lucky and the emotional pain we were experiencing as we said goodbye to him. She examined Lucky and confirmed he was in his final hours with us and that while she couldn't say conclusively, it appeared he had cancer. We chose as our last act of love for Lucky, to let Dr. Lisa relieve him of his pain. She helped us preserve a paw print and locks of his hair for our daughters, and had a special basket with her for his final car ride. We chose a private cremation, and Lap of Love returned Lucky to us a few days later in a beautiful wooden box with an engraved nameplate. Dr. Lisa emailed us and sent us a card to see how we were doing , as did Midway. When we returned from the holidays, we received a thank you from the UF Vet school stating that Lap of Love had made a donation to them in Lucky's name. We will miss our sweet Lucky forever, but we couldn't have made it through this tough time without Dr. Lisa and Lap of Love."Phyllis DixonHomosassa, FloridaJanuary 5, 2018
