Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Fry, DVM"It's taken a bit of time to process such a great loss, but I'd like to share my experience with anyone who has questions. Dr. Erica Fry will always hold a very special spot in our hearts. She helped us do one of the things we dreaded most in the whole world, saying goodbye to our first fur baby, Dante. She was flexible with our schedule and communicated seamlessly. Erica is extremely caring and warm. She walked us through the process in a calm manner. Erica answered all of our questions, many before we asked them and others that we hadn't event thought of asking. I was doubting my decision even to the last day because I never wanted to have to say goodbye to my best friend. Erica helped me have peace of mind in my decision. The most powerful thing that she said to me to put my mind at ease was, "You'd rather say goodbye one day too early than one day too late." We never wanted to see our best guy suffer. It was time. She led us carefully and patiently through what was by far the hardest hour of our lives. Rest in peace, Dante. Thank you, Dr. Erica for making his last minutes on earth so peaceful. We are forever grateful.
If you are someone who is grappling with this dreadful decision, please consider doing some reading on their website https://www.lapoflove.com/ and if the time is now, I would highly recommend Dr. Erica Fry."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"It's been a bit less than 24 hours since Dr. Brad came to our home to help our beloved Magic Star find peace. She had been ill for quite some time, hated the car but loved her regular visiting vet. Unfortunately, when Magic's time was near, her vet was out of state. We were so very concerned that we wouldn't be able to have Magic cross The Rainbow Bridge at home. However, a dear friend of ours did some research and discovered Lap of Love; we bless her for thinking of us and finding a wonderful group of individuals who understood us perfectly. Dr. Brad examined Magic and told us our timing was ideal. By calling Lap of Love on the day before a holiday (July 3) we saved her immense suffering. He was so gentle with her that I'm certain Magic knew that Dr. Brad was going to help her. We did as well. I cannot praise Dr. Brad enough for his caring, understanding and extreme patience with over-the-top "Mom" & "Dad". Laurie, who answered the phone that morning was 'the best'. Also, kind, considerate and
so patient and understanding. We highly recommend Lap of Love to anyone who has to help their pet leave this world.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Toby & Jerry Joseph (& Magic Star, too)"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Hannah Curtis, DVM"I am so grateful that Dr. Hannah was able to assist with the passing of Biggie Smalls on what has been the most horrific day of my life. Yesterday was a complete blur and I am beyond devastated at the loss of my most loved French Bulldog, Biggie Smalls. I will say that Dr. Hannah's bedside manner was second to none. She gave me her full attention and kept her composure during my crying and carrying on. I am so grateful for her services on that day."Irish YoungashSan Clemente, CaliforniaJuly 4, 2017Biggie Smalls's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"As devastating as it was for us to make this decision, we are so grateful that we called Lap of Love. Dr Annie took a tremendous amount of time to talk with us and explain the process with us and to reassure us every step of the way. She took the time to get to know Bernie and our 2 other pups to make sure everyone was as comforted/comfortable as possible while allowing us the time to love and be with Bernie. She also gave us some helpful advice in regard to letting our other pups grieve the loss of their big brother. It was the most peaceful and loving way imaginable to say goodbye to our little guy who had been with us his entire life."Jim SmeltzerApopka, FloridaJuly 3, 2017Bernie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Grant, DVM"This has been one of the hardest decisions our family has ever had to face. We had to say goodbye to our best girl, Destiny. I was very nervous to make the call to Lap of Love, knowing that my time with my best friend was coming to an end. Dr. Amanda was amazing, and very comforting in our time of need. She arrived and gave our girl love and care to ensure she was laid to rest as peacefully as possible. The process wasn't rushed, and Dr. Amanda explained everything as we went along, which not only comforted us, but our Destiny as well. Although we are heartbroken and miss our girl tremendously, we find comfort in knowing she's able to run again, right over that rainbow bridge, free of pain. Thank you so much Dr. Amanda, your kind words during and after the procedure have made this process so much easier."Lisa SteeleTamarac, FloridaJuly 3, 2017

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Leslie Peltier, DVM"I've shared my story with so many of my friends and family, my customers at my Barbershop too. Every Friday morning at 7:00 am I go to Eucharistic Adoration for an hour, I had someone cover for me, because I wanted to spend my time with Joy Joy. At 9:10 a.m. June 30, 2017 an Angel came to my front door and swooped in and softly spoke to Joy Joy and myself, putting us both at ease. I had planned to go in the back bedroom, I thought it would be comfortable, but Dr. Leslie took over and she sat down on the floor in the living room all the while talking to me I followed her lead so did Joy Joy, actually it was the same place my husband and I sat every night to spend time with our girls, Joy Joy laid down and was very calm, how did that Angel know that was our family spot? She knew when to tell me something or nothing, just quiet. I never dreamt I would be so at ease during this, it was hard but I would never be selfish and keep her here for me, I love both of my girls so much I can let them go home. I was lying quietly on the floor beside Joy Joy soothing her , I felt her last heartbeat, I knew, the Angel tapped my leg lightly, I looked over, she had tears and she said she's gone, I shook my head, yes. She left for about 10 minutes came back in, I helped her wrap Joy Joy gently in a cozy blanket. She cradled Joy in her arms and was gone. I turned around the house was so quiet and calm. All was right. I thanked Our Lord for sending this Angel to me to help make this experience beautiful, she treated my girl with such dignity, I would not have wanted it any other way. She left a little stuffed animal, flowers seeds to plant in her honor and a pamphlet , when did she put those there I didn't even see her do it. T hat beautiful Angel, God sent was Dr. Leslie from the Lap of Love. God certainly Blessed her with a special gift. May God Bless her the rest of her days here, and keep her safe. It was an honor and a pleasure to have made your acquaintance."Twana SoudersGrove City, OhioJuly 3, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sandra Simko, DVM"During the very difficult time to make a decision that was so overwhelming, I contacted Lap of Love 2 days before my ultimate choice. The people who answered my questions with such a positive and calm voice started me on the 2 day journey. I looked online to see the testimonials and not a one was bad and all very comforting. I called them the morning I had to make my choice and Dr. Sandy said she could come. I met her outside just to know what would happen next. The first thing she did was hug me and said, "first tell me about Winkle". Such compassion in the first few seconds of meeting her, but like meeting a close friend. She heard my story about Winkle who was just shy of her July 4th birthday and would have been 15 years old. A sweet dachsund who played peek-a-boo when I asked "where is my baby girl?" covering her nose every time. She then told me what would happen. She came in the house, spoke to my son and brother, got on the floor and started to talk to Winkle. She said we can take as long as we want and we went through the process. As a human, I can see how compassionate it is to make this decision but a human can talk and verbalize when they are ready. Making the decision for Winkle was excruciating since she could not tell me she was tired and wanted to go home. Dr. Sandy put Winkle in a basket, covered her in a blanket and took great care taking her to her next stop. Sandy has been in touch with me over the few weeks since and I sincerely appreciate her love, compassion and care she provided to my pet and my family."Linda KraytonWest Caldwell, New JerseyJuly 3, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Julie Willenkin, DVM"Words can not express how thankful I am for Dr Julie and vets like her that go the extra mile to make the hardest decision of your life as peaceful and calming as it could be.The decision to put my best friend Rudi down was long overdo but I then realized it was me and not her I was thinking of.She had been by my side for 15 and a half years and I just could not envision my days without her. When I finally made the decision I contacted my own personal vet and asked if someone could come out to my home but they don't provide that service. They did give me the name of Lap of Love and told me other clients had used them. After reviewing the web site I called and was immediately impressed by the compassion and ease of arranging an appointment. My adult children spent the day with Rudi and I feeding her treats and showering her with love. When Dr Julie came into the room she immediately got down on the floor and started petting and talking to Rudi. When I told her that Rudi was deaf she said I don't care I talk to them anyway .Rudi responded by licking Dr Julie's face.Dr Julie explained the process and then left the timing of when to begin totally up to us.There was no rushing us.When Rudi was confirmed to have passed she gave us as much private time to say our final goodbye as needed.I will never stop telling people of this compassionate organization.Thank you for making one of the the hardest days of my life a little easier ."Patricia MozzilloAudubon, PennsylvaniaJuly 3, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Julie Willenkin, DVM"From the moment Dr. Julie walked into our home, her compassion and care was immediately present and shown. She was very kind and made our experience easier on us. She explained evevrything she was doing, asked about Bosco's past and was very nurturing with him in his final moments. After his passing, she immediately turned her care to us and helped us with this tough moment. This was a great service and I couldn't have asked for better care. If and when the situation arises I hope to get Dr. Julie again."Ian LiberatoreLevittown, PennsylvaniaJuly 2, 2017

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Our dog Cosmo hated the vet. He would shake and whine and pant every visit. When we found out he was very sick and not recovering I didnt want to subject him to vet visits every time something changed. On a recommendation from my boss, I called Lap of Love and immediately was set up with Dr Brad. He helped us and Cosmo calmly get the hospice care our dog needed and then when it was time to let Cosmo go we did so in the quiet, loving and familiar surroundings of our home. Dr Brad and his team were extremely sensitive to our needs and feelings about what was happening to our dog. I am so grateful they exist and will proudly recommend them to any pet owner who needs their kind of assistance. Thank you Lap of Love for making Cosmo's last days calm and loving."Cristina SwinneyNorristown, PennsylvaniaJuly 2, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Shannon Skevakis, DVM"I didn't even know this type of service existed, but when someone suggested I look for someone to come to my home, I asked two people (including my vet) for a recommendation. Both came back with Lap of Love, and having used them, I know why. They were as comforting and guiding as my own mother would have been. Dr. Shannon was explaining every step, reassuring that my Jack was not in pain or distress. Providing Jack with the comfort of "his spot" and the love of his family was the best gift we could have given him."Lisa MollusoOld Bridge, New JerseyJuly 2, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Unz, DVM"I am so happy we learned about Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. This was the hardest decision for us to make, but having a vet come to the house made it a little easier on us and Maximus. And I can't say enough good things about how supportive and caring Dr. Erica was and how quick and easy it was to make an appointment last minute. She was so comforting in for Maximus and us in his final moments. Thank you so much <3"Heather ShorttNew Port Richey, FloridaJuly 2, 2017Maximus's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Alecia Du Charme, DVM"I awoke this morning and could not go back to sleep. Mourning the loss of our beautiful Chow Chow, Jochi, who passed onto a heavenly realm, July 1, 2017, with the help of Dr. Alecia, a beautiful angel of mercy.

Dr. Alecia was so calm and compassionate, and gave us the confidence, as the drugs were administered, that we had made the right decision. Based on certain body reactions from Jochi, she told us that the cancer most likely spread more than we had known. We learned a lot about how dogs won't show their pain but keep going as long as they can.

I know Jochi was grateful as he licked my hand while holding his paw, as the sedative was kicking in to ease his pain. We are beyond grateful to have had Dr Alecia be there, patiently with him and with us. We all cried but knew it was the right thing to do. That was so important to us, to know we did right by him.

He is with God now. We are so glad he is out of pain. Brave little soul, he lived a bit over a year with chemotherapy for lymphoma cancer.
We have little Olive, our mini Schnauzer/Dachshund mix of piss and vinegar. Dr. Alecia had her smell him after he was gone to know, too, her friend would not be coming back. She, too, is grieving. We were not sure how to deal with this either, but know, too, that this was a good decision.

Jochi was bought by our daughter, which I was told through a picture message at work. It said, "Mom! Look who we are bringing home!" I won't write what I said out loud. I walked in the door, and this 25 lb, 12 week out, black baby bear jumped on me, wrapped his stubby arms around my neck, and showered me with puppy breath kisses. That was it.

He has been our guardian ever since. We have never felt so loved and guarded by any living thing.
Ii see him running and playing in the sun and grass, chasing rabbits forever, pain free.
Thank you so much, Dr . Alecia. You are an angel, a beautiful being."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"I had the horrible decision to put my sweet Standard Poodle Murphy down. I contacted Lap of Love just by chance on the internet-it was the best thing I ever did. Murphy who was 11 yrs old was having many problems, one of them standing-I was carrying him all over & I would do it again but I knew it wasn't fun for him! When Dr. Heather came thru my door she was a life saver! She could not have been more compassionate. She so put me & Murphy at ease. She spent time with us and my sister & nephew. Even though I wish we could have done something to keep Murphy with me, I knew he would be so much better off, out of pain and hopefully running across the Rainbow Bridge and Dr. Heather made that happen. She is one of the most compassionate people I have met in a long time. She made everything so comfortable for my family & Murphy. My sweet friend left me in my lap, he was so relaxed and not scared-he was in the comfort of his home. I can not say enough about how such an awful situation can be made so much better done at home. I will always have a special place in my heart for Dr. Heather and how she helped Murphy & I get thru this. I just had a visit from a cardinal-they say it is an angel visiting & I know it was Murphy flying free & pain free. I will always miss him, but Thank you Dr. Heather sincerely from the bottom of my heart .Debbie"Debbie LamparielloHuntington Station, NYJuly 1, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"What an incredible experience like no other. I'm so grateful to Amanda for coming out for this incredibly hard decision. As Sugar began to get older I always thought I wanted her to be in my arms as she went, as much as I knew that was probably an unrealistic request. Amanda made this tucked away desire of mine a reality. It was incredibly painful to watch her go, but I would not have had it any other way. When Sugar first told me it was time I really didn't know how to respond. Making the phone call to set up the appointment was probably the hardest thing I have ever had to force myself to do. But having Amanda there to explain everything that was going on and reassure me that I was making the right decision was so very comforting. I hope that she continues to help families say goodbye to their furry loved ones in the same way she helped me. Thank you so much for everything you've done Amanda."Elise MyersOrange, CaliforniaJuly 1, 2017Sugar's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dawnetta Woodruff, DVM"I can't begin to express how grateful I am that this service exists. I knew I didn't want my precious family member, my cat George, to end up in some strange animal hospital -- stressed out, feeling horrible, and alone with strangers. He had CKD and declined so quickly it broke my heart. I knew I had to make the call. Dr. Carrie was amazingly helpful, informative, and understanding as my significant other was in shock and denial at the time. Within the next eight hours, I had to call again and Dr. Dawnetta came to relieve my handsome lovey George of his pain and suffering. Everybody at Lap of Love is super. From the girls answering the phones to the awesome vets that do this work. I'm so glad George got to be at home, with his girl cat companions and with us. We will always love him. Thank you Lap of Love."Susan PohlArnold, MissouriJuly 1, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heba Kashkosh"Dr. Heba is the angel who came into my home to bring peace to my beloved cat Pixie's suffering.  Her caring, compassionate manner was very comforting and she was so gentle and loving with Pixie.  She listened to my Pixie stories and let me take my time.  I didn't feel rushed at all, as I have in Vet offices.  After experiencing her heartfelt service, I highly recommend her for anyone who needs to say goodbye to their pet."Lori PendletonPalmetto, FloridaJuly 1, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Alecia Du Charme, DVM"Dr. Alecia was really there for us in such a great time of need. She took to Betty right away and made us all feel so calm during a time of such sadness and despair. Even though we knew deep down we had made the right decision, it was still so hard. Hearing Dr. Alecia explain that we were making a decision filled with compassion and love helped us to let go of our guilt so we could do what was best for our Betty. She is truly a living angel and she allowed Betty to pass in her home where she felt most comfortable without any fear or pain. We are so grateful."Chicago, IllinoisJuly 1, 2017Betty's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Gill, DVM"I,ve had to wait a while to post this but... . Wow, what a service we received for Koco our beloved German Shepherd. Koco bravely fought bone cancer, but eventually, we saw her spark start to disappear no more golf, not interested in food!! We new her time was near. This dog was an absolute hero to us, having lost her ear alerting my daughter to a fire in the home. Although she has a huge dog ( we called her Koco Bear), with us she was a big softee, but out Vet would not agree with that part, which is why we called Lap of Love. What a great decision in tough times.
Dr Elizabeth was brilliant, she spent over 3 hours just being patient with Koco and putting her totally at ease, We sat and talked with Koco till her last breath. When she very peacefully fell asleep in our arms. I would not have wanted it any other way.
I cannot speak highly enough, of the service we had. I am a huge animal lover, and surround myself with like minded people. I have told everyone of such a positive experience in such a troubling time.

Thank you again
