Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Spitzer, DVM"Dr. Jessica was incredibly kind, compassionate and patient during this incredibly painful time. I am so grateful that she could come to our home the day we called. It was so horrible to witness anymore suffering of our beloved Roxy. We went to our backyard where Roxy could be in the sun and in our arms for a very peaceful transition. Thank you Jessica for giving our angel peace.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Spitzer, DVM"Jessica and Lap of Love gave our heart breaking experience a silver lining with the kindness, compassion and love that was shown to our beautiful Lab Abby and to us. She even made sure that our other dog, Lucie was ok and handling everything alright. We were given as much time as we needed to say goodbye and had the beautiful option of being at home in her favorite place surrounded by all of those who loved her. It was a very warm, loving experience, and a far cry from a sterile veterinary office. The paw print and lock of Abby’s hair will be treasured. Thank you to Jessica and Lap of Love from the bottom of our hearts."Lisa CogdillVentura, CaliforniaDecember 24, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce, DVM, CVA"Having to make the decision to euthanize my beloved cat Corinna was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I am so grateful to Lap of Love for helping me through this difficult time. Paola and Michael were so sympathetic and helpful. Dr. Kim couldn't have been more caring and compassionate if Corinna had been her own cat. She made sure my girl's passing was as peaceful as possible, and helped me by explaining everything she was doing. Having the option of the euthanization being done at my home instead of a doctor's office meant everything to me. Thanks and blessings to all of you for your wonderful work."Vicki ColeLakewood, ColoradoDecember 23, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Bollinger, DVM"Jessica was a blessing.
Her energy is gentle and compassionate; my Margot-a dog who was very attuned to the energies of others- was as content with this stranger's presence as I could reasonably hope she could be.

Additionally, I appreciated Jessica's understanding of the larger spiritual component of laying an animal to rest versus dragging out a life that has little quality. It was reassuring and validating to connect with a practitioner who understood implicitly that one's spirit is housed within an earthly vessel... that when one's body no longer aids the spirit, but rather dims its brightness, one must do the compassionate thing and release their loved one from a painful existence.

Her support- in the myriad ways in which she offered it- was more meaningful than I can put words to."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Anne Mitchell, VMD"Dr. Anne was a compassionate and professional presence from our very first greeting. She came into our home softly, and with love. She gave our dog, Nimbus, aka the Best Dog Ever, a little check up to confirm that he was indeed in true respiratory distress and that we had already done everything we could to help him stick around as long as possible, without intense suffering. She allowed us time to be with him, exactly as we needed to be, and seamlessly handled the details of tending to this passage without disturbing anyone or anything in our home.

The paw print and bit of fur is a treasured relic in our home and Dr. Anne was loving and gentle with every interaction she had with Nimbus, and with us. She never rushed the process nor us, and also didn't drag it out painfully. Having the time to tend to Nimbus was such a gift. Lap of Love also provided us with with some literature about grieving and children that was and continues to be so supportive of this heartbreaking time.

We are all very grateful to have had the chance to give our dog as good a death as he had life...."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Dear Dr. Heather, I want to thank you for kindness and compassion in caring for our beloved cat, Eloise as she transitioned from our earthly experience to her heavenly home. You and All of the Lap of Love staff were extremely compassionate and we are so grateful for your service. You have given us such peace of mind knowing that Eloise was in the comfort of her home surrounded by the ones who loved her and the things she loved. Thank you!"Denise WinterWest Islip, NYDecember 23, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Klickman, DVM, CVA"Dr. Rachel was a soft, gentle light for us during our time of darkness. Colby had been a patient of Dr. Rachel's during her time at Healing Paws and it was comforting to have a familiar face assist us. She was so kind and compassionate and helped us through this difficult time. I completely trusted Colby in her hands. I would highly recommend using Lap of Love - they are a blessing."Jen LockridgeArnold, MarylandDecember 23, 2018Colby Thomas's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashleigh Rhoades, DVM"Dr. Rhoades was able to make this process, not about an abrupt end, but a peaceful transition through to the end of Bob's life. She is compassionate, clearly understands the process of grieving and combines that with veterinary medicine. We are so thankful we found Lap of Love and they sent us Dr. Rhoades. She made us feel we gave Bob the best life possible all the way through to the end."Theresa SwartzTacoma, WashingtonDecember 23, 2018Bob's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Dr. Toby was a compassionate, comforting presence, helping us give Yoshi a peaceful passing. Having Yoshi drift off peacefully in his favorite spot made it easier on him.

Thank You Dr. Toby."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"I spoke with a very kind woman on the phone giving me information about the service that Lap of Love provides. Beau was my 14 y.o. German Shepherd who had cancer. I have had many GSD's and Beau was about the best ever. When the time came that I had to let my Beau be at peace I called Lap of Love and Dr. Brad came to my house without delay. He was so kind and caring; he explained exactly what would occur and helped me through the awful process of euthanasia. I really can't find the words to express how sad I was but Dr. Brad made it so much better just by his warm and comforting words. Anyone who loves their pet should seek out Lap of Love when they need this service."Irene HoelzelNorristown, PennsylvaniaDecember 22, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sandra Simko, DVM"Dr. Sandra is definitely an angel. This was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. I’m a pretty private person, but from the moment she walked in the door, I knew she was meant to be there, I immediately felt comfortable and she set my mind at ease. The care and compassion she not only showed Maddy, but me as well, I will never forget. She was so gentle with Maddy, she didn’t rush, she let me feel comfortable about the process. She explained everything to me every step of the way. I felt at peace and that is something I never thought I’d feel after saying goodbye to Maddy. I promised Maddy I wouldn’t make her take that “final car ride” and thanks to Dr. Sandra and Lap of Love, I was able to keep that promise. The entire experience was surreal, as Maddy slept in my arms, next to our Christmas tree and I was able to peacefully say goodbye. Hugs to you Dr. Sandra, this is a moment I will never forget. Thank you for helping me keep my promise to Maddy. The final gift I could give her was peace."Robin ZimmerClifton, New JerseyDecember 21, 2018Maddy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Anne Mitchell, VMD"I hope I can find the words to express my feelings for Dr. Anne and the service of Lap of Love. My best friend and wonderful companion, Rags, meant the world to me. I struggled for a week trying to decide how to part with this sweet, beautiful, yellow lab that entered my life 13 years ago. I did not know what to expect from this service, I just knew that forcing my friend to get into a car and taking him away from our home was not what I wanted for him. The minute Dr. Anne walked through the door, I knew I was doing the right thing. Rags left me so peacefully, in his own home with me by his side, the way it needed to be for him and I both. I can not thank Dr. Anne enough for helping me and my sweet boy on his journey. This is a wonderful service and Dr. Anne was the most compassionate, caring, understanding person I could have wished for. Thank you!"Rose GoodyearCoatesville, PennsylvaniaDecember 21, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"Our Tommy (18 years old) was a part of our lives for over 15 years. He spent every night snuggled next to my pillow and would walk circles in front of my bedroom door, excited for bedtime and snuggles.

In recent months he experienced rapid weight loss, but we didn't notice it right away because he is *such* a fluffy boy. We took him to the vet to discover that he had a tumor on his upper jaw and it was likely cancerous. Luckily, the rest of his system was in good shape. So, we provided the best palliative care we could -- he was a stubborn old boy and didn't always want to take his meds.

The time arrived when we knew his suffering was just too much. He was barely eating and starving to death. HIs tumor had grown, as well, causing him great discomfort and pain.

Tommy had a terrible fear of strangers. So, my biggest desire for him was to pass at home, in his sleep, in his favorite spot (our bed). When it became clear that this was not going to happen and his suffering became too acute, we started looking into a home hospice vet. The thought of having to put him in the carrier and drive him to a vet was just so painful. I know he would have been terrified. A friend recommended Lap of Love.

Dr. Morgan was a gift. I spent the hour before she arrived on the bed with Tommy, petting and snuggling him. He was relaxed and blissed out. Dr. Morgan took time with my husband in the living room to fill out the paperwork and discuss details with him before coming into the bedroom. When she did come into the bedroom, she was so gentle and quiet, Tommy never even knew she was there. He was never scared. She explained what was going to happen. She gave him his first shot with the painkiller and sedative. He barely flinched. He quietly fell asleep, perched on my lap. Our family was able to surround him and kiss him and talk to him. She was so gentle in explaining the process to our daughters who were having a hard time with losing Tommy and I think it really helped them to cope.

Dr. Morgan was so respectful and never tried to hurry anything. After he passed, we were able to stay with him for awhile. She brought in a lovely basket and blanket to wrap him in and let me tuck him in. I was able to carry him to her car and say one last goodbye.

I miss Tommy more than I can say. But, I am so deeply grateful that we were able to give him a quiet, peaceful death -- free from fear. Thank you Dr. Morgan and Lap of Love.

The picture I am submitting is Tommy on his last afternoon, basking in the sun and talking up a storm. I miss you, bubs."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dawnetta Woodruff, DVM"Dolly was my 15 1/2 year old baby who had been by my side since I was 13, so you can imagine how difficult the decision was to give her eternal rest. We decided to use Lap of Love because of all the amazing reviews I had found. Dolly's last few days were rough, and I couldn't imagine taking her away from her home for her final moments. We had the entire family (mom, who brought Dolly home when she was just a 2 month old puppy, three sisters who grew up with Dolly, and husbands or boyfriends as well as our other pets) all crowded in the living room with her when Dawnetta came to help. There is no way that we would have all been able to be there for Dolly if we had gone to a vet’s office for the service... which helped us make this decision much easier.

Dawnetta was so so incredibly kind. I cannot describe how much better she made us all feel about the situation. We laughed and cried and told her stories and shared our memories of Dolly. Dawnetta was patient and caring and went over every step of what she was doing and what would be happening next. I could honestly, genuinely, not recommend anyone else to do what she does. After she left, as we were all saying our goodbyes to Doll, I recall my brother-in-law saying that it must be so hard to do what Dawnetta does, and my fiancé replied something along the lines of: "Dawnetta was made to help people at their darkest times. It was just in her demeanor. You can practice that to a degree, but it seemed part of her". I cannot imagine doing what she does – I think it would be painful every single time, but Dawnetta is the very rare type of person who can somehow deal with the losses, and still be there for 9 people and 4 pets who were there for the euthanasia. From the hour that we spent with her, I could absolutely tell that she has one of the biggest hearts and kindest souls.

The day after, Dawnetta wrote and emailed me the sweetest memorial about Dolly, which was completely unexpected, and included all of the information that we had told her when she was asking us about her! I was so surprised that she remembered everything that we were all saying about our fondest Dolly memories, but she somehow remembered and wrote it all down into a beautiful memorial which made us all cry again. Dawnetta even apologized for not getting it to us sooner, as she had surgery THAT morning. She absolutely went the extra mile to make the whole experience thoughtful and meaningful. It was unnecessary, but so appreciated. As I’m sure everyone knows, this is one of the worst decisions you’ll ever have to make in your entire life… but somehow Dawnetta made my heart feel warm, while I was losing my best friend."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Steven Schultz, DVM"Dr. Steven came to our home yesterday and helped our baby cross the rainbow bridge. It's such a difficult time and especially hard during the holidays but the kindness and caring shown by Dr. Steven and the Lap of Love organization made it a much more easier process. Our beloved Sunny was so comfortable and in no pain whatsoever. It was the best experience for both our cat and myself. He will forever be missed, the forever bed making interrupter, treat stealing from his siblings, Christmas Tree lover, Christmas Village destroyer, always entertaining and best companion ever. XXXOOO rest easy Baby Boy."Joyce LaDucaEast Aurora, NYDecember 21, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Dr. Jordan came to the house, and gave us the time and attention that we needed as we made this difficult decision. Thank you!"Margie LongstrethDeerfield Beach, FloridaDecember 20, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Gorney, BVMS"Dr. Gorney was amazing. This was the first time we have ever had to do something like this for a family member. She came in and was very comforting and sat on the floor with us while carefully explaining everything. She was very understanding, caring, and passionate about what she does. She stayed with us until the very end and carefully crafted the paw print of Rascal for us. The time she took to be there for us and to understand the situation and comfort was truly amazing and even though it was a tough situation she made things easier."Rachael MulhisenColden, NYDecember 20, 2018Rascal's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Dr. Jordan was gentle, kind, and sensitive to our needs. He explained the process and took us through each phase.
I was hesitant about going through with the process but Dr. Jordan eased my mind and helped me feel comfortable with my decision.
If you love your animal this is the most human way to help them. I highly recommended Lap of Love and I am sure I will use their services again in the future since I have 3 more fur babies and 3 kitties too."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sunday Cozzi, DVM"Dr. Sunday Cozzi was absolutely amazing! During this horrible time in our lives, she made the process smooth and peaceful for our sweet Maggie. She showed our family so much compassion and truly listened to stories about Maggie. I could not have asked for a better experience and send off for our 14 year old pup as Dr. Cozzi allowed me to hold and love on Maggie while she crossed over that rainbow bridge.

Thank you so much for the love and compassion shown to us before, during, and after the loss of our baby!"
