“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
For anybody who has to say goodbye to a pet, you want these folks to walk you through the process. Dr. Moe helped us stay calm while keeping us informed. We will always be grateful for her presence.
No matter how much you think you can prepare for this moment, you simply can’t. The morning I knew it was time to let go of our beloved Dottie, I called Lap of Love. From the receptionist who answered the phone to Dr. Nellie, everyone was incredibly kind, compassionate, calm, and considerate. I only wish I had known about this organization when saying goodbye to my previous two dogs. Being able to keep Dottie comfortable, surrounded by love, and at home where she felt safe was such a gift. We had beautiful instrumental music playing in the background, and Dr. Nellie gently explained every step of the process. She never rushed us and gave us all the time we needed to hold Dottie, love on her, and be with her until the very end. The entire experience was peaceful, dignified, and filled with compassion. While losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things a family can go through, Dr. Nellie and Lap of Love made an impossible situation feel a little more bearable. I will always be grateful for the kindness and care they showed Dottie and our family during her final moments. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lap of Love to any family facing this difficult decision. Their kindness, empathy, and respect made all the difference during one of the hardest days of our lives.
Dr. Sydney helped our whole family and Poppy’s neighborhood friends make her passage peaceful. She offered to give us time on our own with her, but we could all tell that Dr. Sydney would be welcome in our conversation and share her experiences with her own pets. What could have been a deeply sad experience instead turned into one of peace and memories of Poppy’s good times with us. We thank her and Laps of Love for being there when we needed them
She was absolutely amazing. Compassionate and caring. Let us take all the time we needed to say goodbye.
