Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Aspen Perretta"Having had many dogs over the past 17 years, my wife and I have been through this process in various states, various veterinary clinics. We both agree Dr. Aspen Parretta made this experience the most bearable. It was clear from the moment Dr. Parretta arrived, we and Fletcher were in the best hands. We are so grateful for Lap of Love's services, and Dr. Parretta's sincerity, sensitivity, and compassion. Thank you again Dr. Aspen."B & C BellBethel ParkMay 19, 2020Fletcher's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Allie Prokop"I can think of few experiences as difficult as deciding to let your fur baby go. Dr. Allie's tender demeanor put us all at ease. She assessed our sweet, Lydia, and confirmed we were making the right decision. It was only with her professional affirmation that I could let go of the guilt I was feeling. She treated Lydia as her own. From now on, I will always choose to give my pets the peace of passing in their own space. Lydia was completely relaxed and that is what mattered the most."Bonny BurnsLenoir CityMay 19, 2020Lydia Louise's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters"While this decision for our sweet elder dog was hard, Lap of Love made it much easier than I expected. Your website was where I started and I found such helpful information addressing so many of my questions. Once we scheduled the visit, Dr Walters called when she was on her way and arrived right on time. She was so patient, kind, and gentle with our dog (and us). To see our dog have such a peaceful end to his life and to be in our home made a huge difference. I would never do this any other way. You will never regret using Lap of Love. Thank you for everything!"Lynne BoothCharlotteMay 19, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters"We want to thank you for providing this service, it definitely takes a special person to be able to do this for families with compassion over and over without getting desensitized to the work.

I thought I was going to be a basket case during the service but I think all the crying I’d done the prior couple days allowed me to be strong for Pu in his time of need.

You were so gentle with him and it made a difficult situation simple and comfortable.

It was so nice to have my last image of him at peace, wrapped in the blanket in your lovely basket.

We were also very pleased with his quick return just 24hrs later from the crematory. So great that they deliver him right to our door.

The house definitely feels empty because we had so much interaction with him all day every day for so many years. We both would talk to him all day even if it was just “hey buddy” as we passed by him. He was very social so he always laid in places where we’d pass him frequently since he knew he’d (at minimum) get a head rub every time. Anytime we were in the kitchen he would be there, hoping for a treat, a snack or some coconut milk (we make our own and he loved it).

So thank you again and for suggesting the memorial, we just may do that."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce"Hi Dr Kim,
I wanted you to know that even though that was the worst day and moment of my life, it was very obvious from the moment you arrived that you would take good care of Moose in his final moments. Thank you for letting me hold him. Thank you for telling me that I had indeed made the right decision. Thank you for being compassionate, patient and thorough with answering questions and with handling my baby. Most of all, thank you for the job you do. The strength you have to do that all day every day is incredibly honorable.

Thank you again for everything and please stay safe and healthy.

Mandy and Collin"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Casandra Huelin"Dr. Huelin was very helpful in this very difficult time. She did an after hour appointment for us and did not rush me. She answered all my questions and gave me the time I needed to say my goodbyes. Thank you for making a difficult time a little less difficult."Whitney PackTaylorsvilleMay 19, 2020Riley (tubby)'s Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Dr. Barlow was a calm and compassionate presence in what was easily the worst day of my families pet ownership journey. My 17 year old kitty could barely get off the bed anymore and I was heartbroken at the idea of taking him for covid-19 curbside drop off. I can not recommend this type of crossing for your own beloved family member enough. Dr. Barlow was professional, personable, on time and spent time to ensure we understood the process and our questions were answered. She even had coloring books about loving your pets for the kids. I'm so grateful to her it's hard to put into words. My Stewie was able to pass peacefully on my bed instead of being in terror of the carrier/car/vets office and that is priceless."Amy KrahnBlue bellMay 19, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Liz Myers"Our sweet 3 year old Siamese , George was diagnosed with kidney failure and he declined very rapidly. When we realized we had to let him go, we were devastated. Since we are in the middle of social distancing with the CoVid-19, we were not going to be permitted to be with George when the vet euthanized him. This was heartbreaking and not acceptable to us. Our vet had recommended Lap of Love and we are forever grateful. From the very first phone call we were treated with kindness and respect. Dr Liz Myers was compassionate, empathic and treated George with dignity and love. Letting go of George shattered our hearts into a million pieces but knowing that he passed in his own home with his parents right beside him and a vet that gave him the tenderness and love that he deserved was a comfort to us. In addition Dr Liz took the time to really console us and reiterate that we were doing the most humane thing for George. It meant more that she will ever know. We will always have a special place in our heart for Dr Liz and Lap of Love."Lisa GBuffaloMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Loren Gassler"My husband and I would like to express, from the bottom of our hearts, the most heartfelt and sincere thanks to Dr. Loren Gassler and Lap of Love. Honestly, saying good-bye to our little fur baby was heartbreaking, but having Dr. Loren here with us was an absolute blessing. From the moment that she arrived until the time she drove off, we felt so much love and compassion from her, and she took the most loving care of our little baby. I'm a firm believer that these doctors at Lap of Love are called to this special profession, because just not anyone could do it. I'm so glad that we choose to not take our baby to the vet's office, where she would be scared and so stressed. Having Dr. Loren come to our house was transparent to our little one. In fact, our fur baby made a new angel friend with Dr. Loren. We only have one regret concerning Dr. Loren, and that is that we couldn't give her the biggest hug. We will be forever grateful to her and the staff of Lap of Love. Thank you for making this difficult time bearable. God bless! Larry and Dinah"Dinah MooreLargoMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"Molly was 18.5 years when she passed on May 15th. There are no words to express how Macy and I will miss you. Saying goodbye was so hard but we knew you were tired and couldn’t go on anymore. Dr Barlow was kind and gentle and helped you pass peacefully. I’ll miss taking you on walks and I know Macy will miss going on walks with you and running in the fields chasing sticks. Macy and I were so fortunate to have you in our lives. You will always be in our hearts."Barb WalshCoatesvilleMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jillian Schrier"Thank you to Dr. Jillian for making an impossible situation just a little bit easier for us. My husband and I had never raised pets and therefore this was a first for us as well. We struggled for a long time with our decision, especially since our Ralph was so young. We wanted someone to tell us the "right" thing to do and Dr. Jillian put us at ease and made us feel supported in our plan. We can't thank Dr. Jillian and the Lap of Love team enough during this time."Cory AbernethyFalls ChurchMay 18, 2020Ralph's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sara Barlowe"On 5/8/20, in the midst of a global pandemic, we had to put our beloved old man J.R. to rest. The only thing that made the unbearable tolerable was the service provided by Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. Dr. Sara came to our home and helped J.R. cross over pain free in the comfort of his favorite spot by the fireplace. I can't imagine having had to do it any other way. He lived a long life of 20 years and will be missed by so many. While we certainly feel the void, we are so grateful we were able to help him in this way and that this service of compassion was available to us. I cannot recommend Lap of Love enough. Dr. Sara was an incredible comfort during the most difficult time. Thank you."Brooke SchiavonePerkiomenvilleMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lori Braun"Choosing to say goodbye to our Meika girl was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. She had diabetes for a few years and her health was dwindling. Dr. Lori Braun made the whole process easier with her patience, reassurance and understanding. I have peace in my heart knowing that she was surrounded by her family, in her home. I miss her dearly and will always but I know that she won't be suffering. If and when the time comes again, I will choose to call Lap of Love again. I don't want to say my last goodbyes in a place where my animals don't feel comfortable."Deanna RawlinsSALEMMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Johnson"Putting down my kitty was a very hard decision for me, as I've had her for half of my life. Dr. Elizabeth was incredibly amazing and explained the whole process. She didn't rush me at all, and was so caring. She made the process much easier than I could have hoped for and I am very grateful for Lap of Love and Dr. Elizabeth for being so fantastic."Annika Zapf SpencerdecaturMay 18, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tyler Johnston"I want to thank Dr. Tyler for his kind heart his patience and his understanding in all this. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Liz Myers"We are thankful for Lap of Love and Dr. Liz. Our Toy Poodle, Gabriel, of almost 16 years had been failing and we were told it was just a matter of time as he had kidney failure and other issues. As we have no human children, Gabe was our baby. So precious and sweet! We had not heard of Lap of Love until this time. We were treated with compassion and sympathy starting with my initial phone call while crying the whole time.

Dr. Liz came to our home Sunday morning (Mother's Day) and helped us through this difficult time. We shared some memories with her and never felt rushed. Gabe left us peacefully and with dignity. We will contact Lap of Love if we ever need to make this decision again in the future and will recommend them to others."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kelly Stockton"I am so thankful for Dr. Kelly and Laps of Love for allowing us to peacefully transition Maggie over the Rainbow bridge. Dr. Kelly was so sweet, and gentle and calming and respectful of our sweet little girl. Having this experience made all the different in the world in letting our Maggie go. Being able to give Maggie a peaceful exit, totally stress and anxiety free.... there just aren't words to describe how important that was to me.... Maggie left me with peace and dignity and I am eternally thankful to Dr. Kelly and Laps of Love for giving me that gift."Shannon ThompsonEdgewaterMay 18, 2020Maggie Mae's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lori Braun"Dr. Lori was absolutely amazing during our very difficult time.
Our original appointment was scheduled for Friday morning between 11:00 am and 12:00pm. On the Thursday before it was obvious to us that our little Henry was in great distress and pain. We called Lap of Love to see if there was any possibility of moving the appointment to a much sooner time as it was so difficult to see our precious little Henry boy suffering so. We were told that all of the Doctors were busy helping other families and the best that they could do was move the appointment up by a couple of hours to 9:00am still on Friday, this was at approximately 4:15pm. Then to our surprise we received a phone call from Dr. Lori at approximately 5:30pm. She had just left a family and checked her emails. Upon seeing that we had asked to move up the appointment she read our case notes and decided we must really need her help sooner than later. She was so kind and said that if we wanted she would come right over, rather than going home after a long day. The last thing we wanted to do was to let our beloved little Henry go, but couldn't let him continue suffering any longer, so we agreed and Dr, Lori came right over. Dr. Lori made a very difficult time in our lives much better with her amazing kindness and love.
Thank You Dr. Lori

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keely Smith"I am sorry it’s been so long to write this review but this has truly been the hardest thing I have done in my life. April 25 was devastating to my family and I as for the prior 3 weeks we were praying that our sweet Coconut would beat her battle with ITP. Unfortunately that was not going to be the case as the disease was just too strong. We wanted to make sure her journey over the rainbow bridge was done at home in her comfortable surroundings to ease the stress on an already stressful situation. Dr Smith was appointed to assist us on April 25 and she was so loving, caring and compassionate. She also reassured us that this was the compassionate thing to do after hearing what Coconut was going through. She wasn’t just “going through the motions” or “telling us what we wanted to hear”. Dr Smith made Coconuts crossing peaceful and dignified which is what we wanted for her. Thank you Dr Smith and even though we still are saddened by the loss of Coconut we are so grateful that you were in our lives at that moment in time. We thank you for doing what you do. Sincerely - Ken, Tina and Peanut Sikora"Kenneth SikoraLutzMay 17, 2020
