“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
Dr. Cottrell was absolutely amazing. She gave us an honest overview of what everything would look like before she did anything. She helped unwrap the kisses for our sweet old man so he would be happy and distracted before the sedative kicked in. The time she gave us and respect she showed to not only our dog but our home was exactly what we needed in those moments. We couldn't have asked for a better way to say goodbye to our boy.
It was a very calm and peaceful goodbye in the home Toby loved. We have experienced this procedure in the vet office with other dogs barking, people laughing and going about their day, and this was so much better. Dr Molly was wonderful, the whole process from visit to the delivery of remains was seamless. If you find yourself in this situation and unsure what to do, call them, trust them, no regrets. My sweet Toby is at peace.
Saying goodbye to our beautiful 16-year-old cat, Smooch, was one of the most painful things we have ever had to do. He was a sweet, gentle, loving boy, and we loved him beyond words. Making the decision to let him go was heartbreaking. We will be forever grateful for the extraordinary kindness and compassion Dr. Kelly showed to Smooch and to us when she came to our home to help him pass peacefully. From the moment she arrived, she was gentle, patient, respectful, and deeply compassionate. She never rushed us. She treated Smooch with such tenderness and dignity. The night before Smooch died, he let me hold him very close to comfort him. Later, he lay in my lap and rested his head in my hand. I will carry that moment with me for the rest of my life. It was his final gift to me. We will never forget Dr. Kelly's kindness and what she did for Smooch and for us that day. At one of the saddest moments of our lives, she gave our beautiful boy a peaceful and dignified goodbye, and she gave us comfort when we needed it most. We will always be profoundly grateful.
My family will always be thankful for how compassionate and gentle Dr. Kate was when we felt our most vulnerable. Trusting her gave us the ability to give our girl, Casey, a dignified and peaceful passing. Dr. Kate educated us on what to expect during the steps of the process so kindly. She gave all of us the time to say all of our goodbyes, and handled everything in the most respectful and caring manner. She even allowed Mav, our other dog Casey basically raised, to be present. That was so important to us. Thank you. Dr. Kate. You gifted us the most beautiful goodbye possible for our Casey Cay.
