Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"Dr. Carrie and the entire support staff at Lap of Love were lovely and professional. From the first tearful call to the actual appointment when we said goodbye, to the kind follow up; the Lap of Love team were exceptional. Dr. Carrie gave Elliot respect and love and helped us emotionally as we said goodbye. The service they provide is worth every penny for someone needing to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to their pet companion."Sara LaRueMaryland Heights, MissouriMarch 3, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"On March 1, 2019 I had to put my cat down. We woke up that morning and noticed my cat was in terrible shape. We called at 7:30 am and Dr. Manfredi was here by 12:30. This was extremely difficult because this was my dads cat for 14 years and he suddenly passed away 6 years ago, leaving me to care for the cat. My four kids were distraught about losing their pop pop so it was comforting to know we had his cat. So losing her was like losing part of my dad. Dr. Manfredi was so compassionate, patient and explained what to expect. I have dreaded this moment for a long time but she made her passing peaceful and beautiful. It takes a special type of person to do this and I was lucky to have her with me during this process. Thank you again Lap of Love."Christine PaulsenMassapequa park, NYMarch 3, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sarah Tangeman, DVM"I was blessed to have Dr. Sarah assist with Major. From the moment she arrived, she was professional, compassionate and it was as if she had known my sweet boy for years. This was a hard decision, but Dr. Sarah confirmed it was the best decision for Major. Lap of Love is lucky to have Dr. Sarah as part of the team!"Tracy SteadmanFort Worth, TexasMarch 3, 2019Major's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Dr. Brad and the amazing support staff at Lap of Love made one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make doable and with that their commitment to the animals we love made the worst day one of the most beautiful as I was able to have my sweet Bodhi home with me where he was loved everyday and when his time came where he was most comfortable. Dr. Brad took time to get to know Bodhi and where he was in the aging process. He kept me informed and helped gently guide me through decisions of what to try and when to try and ultimately when we tried everything. No pressure, no judgement just support and information. I am thankful to have been able to have Lap of Love and Dr. Brad during this time."Suzanne CampbellAmbler, PennsylvaniaMarch 3, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Klickman, DVM, CVA"It was a quiet day around the farm without Edgar, our Chesapeake Bay Retriever. We missed his bark, his greeting home and his always pleasant disposition.
Yesterday, Dr. Rachel came to our home to assist our dog, Edgar, with his last day. As to the entire process, I found Dr. Rachel’s manner and disposition to be genuinely caring with a deep understanding of the most palatable way to manage this difficult situation. She couldn’t have been better with Edgar and my children and I.

We thank Dr. Rachel from the bottom of our hearts and Edgar’s. When I go, I want to go that way.

For the least painful way to let your family pet and a member of the family pass painlessly, Lap of Love was perfect; especially Dr. Rachel."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Becky Frank, DVM"We just wanted to say thank you for making this a humane way of saying goodbye to our best friend, Ollie....we had him for eight years and we loved him so much. We are truly heart broken but it went so well with Dr. Becky, we were amazed. Her compassion and personable way is amazing. She was very professional, caring, and personal. We are so thankful that it went the way it did as this was the hardest thing we ever had to do. Thank you again, Dr. Becky. You are a special person who took good care of our very special friend Ollie. God bless you."Glenn & Vicky DavisBainbridge, PennsylvaniaMarch 3, 2019Ollie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne, DVM"It was extremely comforting to let my baby go with the services of Lap of Love and Dr. Ashley. A difficult day to be sure, but their professionalism and compassion alleviated the stress for me and my sweet girl Mocha. My best friend is also my vet, and we mutually agreed that it would be too painful for all of us for her to participate in that last act of love. I'm happy that Lap of Love was there to take us on the last of our journey."David DiCorpoAtlanta, GeorgiaMarch 3, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Regan Harp, DVM"Brandi, you were the sweetest Pug girl ever. It has been one year today since you left us. You were Mommy and Daddy’s special baby for 15 years, 1 month & 11 days. When we drove to Crossville to pick you up at six weeks old, you were the cutest little ball of fur, and when we stopped at a rest stop for you to go potty, everyone started gathering around to see and pet the puppy. You always stole everyone’s heart.

You were our first pet together, joining us just as your dad retired. Mommy was still working and could hardly wait to get home in the afternoons where you’d meet me with all your puppy excitement. Although he didn’t really want you, you quickly became a daddy’s girl. He adored you and you shadowed him everywhere he went right up to your last days, getting up to follow him to the next room when you could hardly walk.

We will always remember you jumping off the sofa, tearing through the house with your little butt tucked, and coming back to jump on the sofa and do it all over again, how much you loved your stuffed Southwest airplane that Mommie brought you from a trip. You played with it until the motor quit and wouldn’t roar anymore. The way you loved to tug on a tennis ball in one of Daddy’s socks, to take long walks and ride in the truck with him. How you loved to bark at the black angus cows at the farm when they got too close to “your yard”. How when you were younger you’d wake us up by sitting on us, and later by snorting at 5:00 am until someone got up. And when you weren’t able to go for walks, you always knew when it was 3:00 pm; you’d pop up ready to go for a ride. You have brightened our lives in ways you will never know. You left your pawprints on our hearts and we miss your puggy attitude.

Dr. Regan, with Lap of Love, was so kind and loving, allowing us time to prepare for each step. You were pain free as you went to sleep in my arms. We wrapped you in a pink blanket embroidered with “Baby Girl”, my pet name for you, and buried you in the backyard at the farm where you loved to run and play.

Thanks for all the beautiful memories.

Until we see you again at the Rainbow Bridge, we will always love you, sweet curly tailed Baby Girl.

Linda (Mommie)"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Jensen, DVM"There are not enough words to described how grateful we were and are the Lap of Love and Dr. Jessica. She was kind and understanding, and showed so much love and care for our little Molly, as if she had always been Molly's vet. Thank you again Dr. Jessica, we will never forget you. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jenn Roedig, DVM"I wanted to thank Dr. Jenn so much for being there for us. It was the biggest decision but she helped me know that I made the right one. Blessings to her. Lucy is missed so much and I've never loved a pet more than I loved her. She truly was my best friend and has been through thick and thin with me. The last year has been rough but now I know she is in a much better place. Thank you again."Ali PollardCincinnati, OhioMarch 1, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"Dr. Carrie was terrific in answering all of our questions and giving us any space we needed while gently and professionally doing her very difficult job. She made what is a very hard thing to do go as peaceful as possible. We are very thankful for her service."St. Louis, MissouriMarch 1, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Leslie Peltier, DVM"Lap of Love provided us and our dog the opportunity to say goodbye to him in a private and comforting environment. Dr. Leslie was extremely kind, patient and comforting throughout the process- allowing us to go at our own pace, and explaining what would happen during each stage. You can tell that this isn't just a job to her, it's her life's work. I would highly recommend Lap of Love to anyone facing this difficult decision."Hilary MarshallColumbus, OhioMarch 1, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Gies, DVM"Dr. Katie Gies was very compassionate and considerate of my heart break and the difficult decision to let Pugsley go. I have never had to let a pet go this way and I struggled with my decision. I know Pugsley is not suffering any more.
Thank you Lap of Love and Dr. Katie Gies."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"We were so blessed to have Dr. Amanda Paige perform the ‘end of life’ on our beloved Azumi. Neither my wife or I had ever been faced with making such an important decision for our beloved ‘little girl’, and we had so many questions. The entire time Dr. Amanda was very patient, not only answering every question but, more importantly, providing reassurance that it was the proper time. Her statement, “If it we’re not the right time, I would tell you”, did so much to alleviate a great deal of our doubt.
Dr. Amanda’s outstanding quality is her compassion- not only for our beloved pet, but also for the two human ‘parents’. You sense that she truly feels your pain and empathizes with you, always patient and reassuring throughout. It has been almost two weeks since Azumi’s passing, and we are grateful to Dr. Amanda for getting us through that day in a way that allows us to heal."

And we couldn't have asked for anything more."Shara & Bryan GoetzSaline, MichiganFebruary 28, 2019Junie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cathy Berquist, DVM"I needed a bit of time before I could sit down and write this, grief and healing control these things. About one month ago, our beloved Maxine was in pain and could not walk anymore. We knew that she had cancer and the time was soon. The day before, her "grandparents" came to the home and spent the day loving her like they did for the last fourteen years.

That next morning we knew it was time, she had gotten worse through the night. I called Lap of Love and made an appointment for as soon as possible. A few hours later, Dr. Cathy Berquist arrived at our home.

She was so professional and caring. She explained the process to my wife and I and she made us at ease. Even though Maxine was still trying to protect us to the end from this "stranger" in the home, Dr. Berquist did not take it personally.

Once the procedure was done and Max was at rest, she took a paw print for us. She gave us some last time with our girl. I had to help carry Max outside and I told Cathy that I wanted to take Max out the backdoor so she could be in the backyard one last time. She was more than willing to do this for me.

Dr. Berquist made this very had day a bit easier for us. We can not thank her enough.

A few days later, Maxine was returned to our home by a staff member of Lap of Love, she now has a place of honor with our other pets who went before her.

I would recommend Dr. Berquist and Lap of Love for anyone going through this difficult decision and process."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne, DVM"I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Lap of Love. I called three times and spoke with 3 different people, ALL of whom were sensitive, compassionate and kind. The vet who came to our house was perfect. She treated us like she was a family friend and even took time to get to know our cat by petting her, talking to her and letting our cat get used to her touch and scent. She was so intuitive, taking her cues from us-- we never felt rushed. Afterwards, my teenage daughter thanked me and said, "I'm so glad they came to our house." Our cat, Miss B, passed away in the loving arms of her favorite family member, in her favorite spot in the house. It could not have been more peaceful. Even though the vet's office was a less expensive option, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lap of Love when it's "time". You and your pet deserve it."Julie ChahbouneJohns Creek, GeorgiaFebruary 28, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Allie Prokop, DVM"Dr. Allie Prokop was the DVM in our area when I researched Lap of Love. We made arrangements for her to come on the same day as we called. She called when she was on her way, answered our questions, reassured us that we were making the right decision, and explained everything she was doing and what to expect before she did it. She was so gentle, kind, loving, compassionate, and understanding of the pain both our dog and we were going through. She followed up with us and sent a beautiful card. We couldn't have asked for anyone better to help ease our much loved dog from this life to the next."Kathleen CourtneyClinton, TennesseeFebruary 28, 2019Cleo's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Melinda Glavin, DVM"Our 12 year old beagle had a minor seizure and we rushed her to our vet. He diagnosed her with a liver mass and high liver enzymes. He treated her with antibiotics and a pain drip and we took home medication. When we left his office, I was extremely distraught, thinking that she had only a week or 2 to live. Apparently, the meds worked well for her and she started to behave normally again. But I was concerned that there could be a sudden decline in her health - Dr. Melinda warned us that the liver could rupture. I called Lap of Love and made an appointment each day for 2 days in advance to ensure that we wouldn't have to wait in the event that Abby was suffering. They were very kind in allowing me to cancel and reschedule. (I was always mindful in giving them 24 hours notice.) They offered to have Dr. M do a phone consult, which was very appreciated. After speaking with her, I decided to have her come over to examine Abby and recommend a course of action, with euthanasia an option only if necessary to ensure that Abby would not suffer. Dr. Melinda was very kind, easy to talk with, compassionate, thorough, and professional. She recommended that we take Abby for another blood test to see if her liver enzymes were still high. Sure enough, they had dropped substantially, and we were able to relax. She advised us on what to do in the event that the blood test results were still problematic, so we were prepared for any contingency. I love that Dr. Melinda is still available to answer questions through e-mail. All of the wonderful things that I'd heard about Lap of Love were true. We hope Abby still has a couple more years of a good quality life. But, when the time comes, we will call Dr. Melinda back to our home to help Abby go to the Rainbow Bridge peacefully and painlessly."Isabell CardonickWallingford, PennsylvaniaFebruary 28, 2019
