Lap of Love Veterinarian: Melanie Cohen, DVM"For those who do not own a pet you cannot imagine how difficult it is to say goodbye to someone who has become a member of your family and has been for many years. We had our dog Duke a Yellow Lab since his birth in 2004. He was such a playful puppy and so full of life. He spent the 1st year of life keeping my wife company while I was in Kuwait. I have many pictures of Duke that celebrate his 12 years with us. He had a good long life and left a wonderful impression on us and all who knew him. Every day he showed such unquestioned love and devotion to us. we miss him terribly.
We knew what we were about to do was the right thing for Duke. And Dr Melanie Cohen agreed with us as she stroked his head and looked into his eyes. She saw the pain he was in and how tired he was of having to suffer with it.
Although she knew Duke for only a short time Dr Cohen showed such compassion and love for him. It was one of the saddest days of our lives as we watched him fall asleep. Lap of Love provided dignity to a stressful time for something we had to do. And now we must find a way to move on. We are so heartbroken. And will be for some time.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"It took me almost 3 months to be able to write this without sobbing .. trying to get through it because I have to share my experiences with Dr. Katie Stender's loving support during one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
I've been owned by several cats but my precious Andi was by far the most special and we had the strongest bond of any cat I've had . (Here come the tears.)
She was rescued by a friend from the rafters of a construction home at barely 8 weeks old and it was love at first sight. She was a handful! So full of life.. she was so full of personality and was the best companion for a single person. We were family.
Way too young, at 11 1/2 Andi was diagnosed with liver disease after suddenly losing a lot of weight from not eating and had to have a feeding tube for 6 weeks and a lot of medicine for over 1.5 years when this April, she had declined so much that I couldn't bear to allow her to suffer, so my Vet referred me to Dr. Katie. This group of professionals have the biggest hearts and were truly angels sent to help me deal with the horrific decision I was being forced to make.
Dr. Katie came to meet with Andi and helped me with an interim plan and guided me on what to watch for to know when it was "time".
That time came and I honestly believe the hardest call I've ever made was calling to schedule Dr. Katie to come and help me send my precious Andi to Rainbow bridge.
On that day, Dr. Katie's kindness, empathy and love were amazing. She explained the process and allowed me time to say goodbye to my baby, and to hold her throughout the process until I felt her little body relax and leave her pain behind. Dr. Katie said at that moment that my sweet baby had just gotten her angel wings. I believe the whole process was the most peaceful and dignified way to let my baby go in the comfort of her own home.
I will never forget my sweet Andi. She will live forever in my heart. And I will never be able to thank Dr. Katie enough for helping me through this process."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Samantha Souther, DVM"Saying goodbye to our Teddy was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. Dr. Samantha, Dr. Brad, and the Lap of Love staff made it as comfortable as it possibly could be. It was important for us to be at home, where Teddy felt safe. He’d had some scary experiences at the vet, so we couldn't bear to say goodbye in that environment. Both doctors visited our home on different occasions – Dr. Brad to evaluate Teddy, give insight on the progression of his illness, and explain how Teddy was likely feeling. Dr. Brad provided pain medication and even checked in by text later that evening. When we scheduled euthanasia, Dr. Samantha visited. Dr. Brad had filled her in, so we didn’t have to explain anything. Dr. Samantha was so kind and patient. She explained every step of the process, answered our questions, and allowed us all the time we needed with Teddy. We also appreciated little touches that we wouldn't have thought of - like making a paw print. Thank you, Lap of Love, for being there for us in this difficult time."Julie MPhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaJuly 19, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Julie Willenkin, DVM"Dr. Julie, you made a difficult process the best it could be. Your kindness, compassion and true love for animals came through so clearly. You truly have a gift for helping others in this situation...your thoughts and words really helped us in so many ways. You made the process so calm, peaceful and loving, and we cannot thank you enough for helping us to give Chase the gift of having his family stroking him and loving him in his favorite room at home as he left this earth for the Rainbow Bridge."Joyce KellerHaverford, PennsylvaniaJuly 19, 2017Chase's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Shannon Skevakis, DVM"Our lovely Lola was the sweetest angel and it was one of the most painful experiences that our family faced to loose her. She was beautiful, kind and loved every one. I am so glad that we made the decision to use Dr. Shannon and Lap of Love because it gave Lola the peace that she deserved. It was comforting for her to have her family near her and be in her own home when she passed. I cannot say enough about Dr. Shannon. Not only was she compassionate and kind, she really cared. She is a blessing and she made a very sad and difficult time just a little bit easier."CHRISTINA PETERSONWEST NEW YORK, New JerseyJuly 18, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis, DVM"In loving memory of Pawley, the sweetest most gentle soul ever. I was so blessed to have him as part of my life . He became a true family member with Baby and me. I will miss him terribly. Thank you Linda for sharing your sweet boy with us. Although your passing was very hard for us, Dr Dana made the process not only filled with compassion but a quiet and gentle passing. I have such gratitude for that."Terri MiltonbergerHillsborough, North CarolinaJuly 18, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Klickman, DVM, CVA"Dr. Rachel Klickman was so wonderful and so caring. Our lab had been diagnosed with a possible brain tumor and in the middle of the night developed what we later learned was a kind of infection that caused him to thrash and spin around in total panic -- this was a very strong 65 lb. lab. He was too strong for us to be able to get him down the stairs and to an emergency vet, so we just had to hold and comfort him all night until 7am when Lap of Love 's hot line opened. We were all incredibly distressed.

The receptionists on the phone were kind and caring, and Dr Klickman was at our home by 8:30am. We were so happy that she quickly sedated our dog so he could relax in peace as we took some time to then talk before the final euthanasia. It was expensive but given the super quick service and the incredible care Dr Klickman gave both our pet and us, totally worth it. Hope to never been in an emergency euthanasia situation again -- but if ever needed. recommend Lap of Love so highly. They care for the humans and the pets."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jade Tenberg, DVM"One of the hardest decisions to make is for our fur babies, since they are not able to talk and express their own wishes. We recently interacted with Lap of Love, when we had to say goodbye to our beloved cat Pocus, who we had and loved for over fifteen years. Our experience with Lap of Love and with Dr. Tenberg helped to make this difficult time a little easier. She was extremely compassionate and kind, as were the staff members that I dealt with, specifically Victoria for the few weeks in between. I highly recommend them."Debra MooreWesley Chapel, FloridaJuly 18, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Our older cat Spooky, had a brother, Banjo who was a victim of Hurricane Sandy. So when Spookys time came, the decision to euthanize him was made all the more difficult because of that loss. But that decision was helped by the fact that we could cuddle and speak to him in our bedroom where he loved to sit in the sun watching the world go by. And all of this was made possible by the absolute caring, warmth and affirmation of our decision that Dr. Heather gave us. She is a genuine lovely woman that allowed Spooky (who was scared of everything thus his name) to go in peace. Thankyou for helping us and Spooky!"cary angiulobabylon, NYJuly 18, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"I want to thank Dr. Manfredi and Lap of Love for providing such a wonderful service at such a difficult time. We are thankful to have had 16 beautiful years with our loving dog, Sunday and the decision to call Lap of Love was a difficult one, but you made it a beautiful moment my family will never forget. We miss him terribly, but knew it was time to end his pain. Dr. Manfredi assured us we were making the right decision, which was very important to us. I am so glad Sunday's got to spend his last moments in his home and with his family.

Thank you again. The Feeney Family"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Matt Renaker, DVM"My precious baby Lola. Nothing is the same without you. You have blessed our family for twelve wonderful years. You ruled the family in your sweet demanding way. Lola gets what Lola wants... treats from the kitchen, outside to smell the grass, or hugs and kisses on demand. My little angel you knew how to speak. A little whisper and you melted my heart. It was fun teaching you to say I LOVE YOU. Just like the huskie on YouTube. Thank you for being so smart. Thank you for your little kisses. Mommy knows you are now in Heaven with Max and grandpa. You will forever live in my heart. I knew you didn't feel good in the end ,and your tummy was sick. "Bad tummy ". I held you in my arms knowing Dr Matt was coming to help you be pain free forever. I kissed your little forehead and whispered it was going to be ok as you were so kindly sedated. Tia Konnie prayed the Lords Prayer as you passed and mommy kissed your sweet little eyes. So gently you crossed. I am forever grateful to know that you were NEVER nervous or anxious. You were home with mommy and safe in my arms. In your Lap of Love my chichi. May God always be with you till the day we are reunited. Thank you Lap of Love...... I will tell everyone I know what an amazing gentle bittersweet experience it was ."Ellen MurphyFt Lauderdale, FloridaJuly 17, 2017

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"My family made the decision to put to rest our beloved dog, Brandi of 12 years. She has been suffering from very bad arthritis and her body couldn't handle her anymore. I called back in December when I was deployed after my sister told me that our girl was going downhill. I'm not sure who I've spoken to on the phone, but the sweetest lady comforted me and gave me all the information that I needed to make it smooth for my sister if I were unable to be there when it was time. Fast forward to July, I called again and they pulled up all the information that I had submitted earlier and it was very simple to make an appointment. Once again, another very sweet lady comforted me on phone, making sure all details were complete. Dr. Jennifer came right on time so we weren't rushed spending our last moments with Brandi. Dr. Jennifer was so sweet and answered all the questions that my two younger nephews had. We all sat around Brandi while Dr. Jennifer did her work. It was very hard to say goodbye to my girl, but Dr. Jennifer was very compassionate and calm and comforting for us. It was honestly a very peaceful process. I have another older dog and plan on using Lap of Love for him when it is time. From the ladies on the phone to Dr. Jennifer, I couldn't have asked for a better service. Thank you Lap of Love!"Charlotte, North CarolinaJuly 17, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Nora Glaser, DVM"Dr. Nora was such a blessing to our family. She was so sweet with Gabby and made sure she took the time to get to know her. Dr. Nora genuinely took the time to understand how much Gabby meant to me-- she validated how fantastic my little girl was. She explained everything so gently and let me cry. I never felt rushed. Dr. Nora, I'm so grateful for you. Please know you made this painful process much easier."Amanda PurrierManassas, VirginiaJuly 17, 2017Gabby's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kimberly Moen, DVM"We lost our beloved Tibetan Mastiff, Rahma, today but it was absolutely peaceful. He was at home in one of his favorite spots to sleep surrounded by those who loved him very much. Dr. Kimberly Moen was very professional and extremely compassionate. She answered our questions and took enough time to let us work through the grief as we let our beloved family member go. He was so relaxed; he was actually snoring. It was very sweet. He felt no pain. His suffering was over. This is the way we all want to go when the time comes....at home, surrounded by those who love us. I appreciate that Lap of Love and Dr. Kimberly gave us that experience with Rahma. Even though I am very sad at the loss of this incredibly sweet dog, Dr. Kimberly did a great job of easing him out this world and gently into the next."Vivian CaylorLake Worth, FloridaJuly 16, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra L. Healy, DVM"Dr Kendra is absolutely wonderful. She was so flexible and made a Sunday visit on short notice to help put our family dog to rest. While saying goodbye to our beloved pet of 14.5 years was very painful , the home visit was So wonderful for both my pet and us in our home..... Thank you so much the first rate service and wonderful "bedside" manor. Dr Kendra was wonderful and very compassionate. Thank you..."Lexington, KentuckyJuly 16, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"The words that comfort me every day when I think about Louis..."He is running free now". These were said to me by Dr. Keri Morgan when we sent Louis to the Rainbow Bridge. She is one of an extraordinary group of vets who made one of the worst days in my life really beautiful. This is the second time I have had Lap of Love come to my house. When it is time for Lucy, our great pyrenees to leave our world, I will have them back again.. Both Dr. Woodruff and Dr. Morgan, are the most caring, compassionate people I have ever met. Dr. Morgan explained everything to me. She loved Louis the minute she saw him---that was evident---and loved him even more by the end. Thanks to this service, the end of life of our pets has been loving and peaceful. I am so grateful to have Lap of Love in my life."Elaine WoodcockSt. Louis, MissouriJuly 16, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"We had to say goodbye to our sweet chocolate lab, Mimi, on July 1st. She had been doing well, despite being diagnosed with mast cell CA, but took a huge turn for the worse during the night and we knew we could not let her suffer a moment longer. I called Lap of Love that Saturday morning, and felt like we were thrown a lifeline. Ashley was as sweet and compassionate as she could be, answering all of our questions, and scheduled Dr Annie to come early that same afternoon. Dr Annie is the nicest, most compassionate person and was such a huge help and support at a horrible time for our family. Going to the vet would have been so stressful, not to mention painful, getting our girl in and out of the car, and it was certainly not her happy place. A typical lab, Mimi never lost her appetite, despite not being able to stand on her own. She had a bowl of ice cream while we all sat with her on the kitchen floor, then we said goodbye to our sweet, sweet best friend and family member for the past 9 years. We are telling everyone we know how wonderful Dr Annie is and what a great service Lap of Love provides. God bless you all."Marge BuschbomOrlando, FloridaJuly 16, 2017
