Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Dr. Toby had assisted a friend with two previous transitions that Henry and I were present for. When it came time for Henry to leave, there was no question about calling Lap of Love. I can imagine no more peaceful way to bid farewell to a loving companion that to be at home with surrounded by loved ones."Kris KnollLas Vegas, NevadaJanuary 20, 2018Henry's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch, DVM"Our Sammy, a 13 yr old cocker spaniel, took a turn for the worst on a Friday evening. Sammy hated the car in his senior years, he was anxious, drooling and shaking life a leaf the whole time he was in it. I didn't want that to be how he spent his final hours.
Dr. Sally was, incredible. She fought Boston rush hour to get to us in under 2 hours. She was professional and compassionate, and because of her expertise our Sammy's passing was surrounded by his pack. It was calm, loving, and peaceful - I truly could not have asked for anything more for him.
Thank you again Dr. Sally for being an angel on earth!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"It has taken me a long time to write this because the loss of my Persephone still is so painful. After we found out in early fall that Percy had cancer, her regular vet said the best thing to do was to put her to sleep. I could not accept that. One of my sorority sisters highly recommended Lap of Love. Dr. Keri came to our house and I immediately knew I had made the right choice. She was caring and knowledgeable. Throughout Percy’s illness she was easily accessible but, most importantly, she kept Percy out of pain. It gave me and my daughters over two additional months to love Percy and for Percy to enjoy the last of her time, going on walks and loving and protecting us. When that horrible time came, Dr. Keri helped me know my decision was right and saying goodbye was so much easier at home. I cannot say enough about the service provided by Lap of Love and Dr. Keri. My heart still hurts but I am confident that I did everything for my sweet Persephone 💕"Kara HortonSaint Louis, MissouriJanuary 20, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"11 years ago I got the Best Girl Ever! She went to work with me every day at a retirement center. She worked hard to bring comfort and joy to the residents there. She was a constant companion to me. She always greeted everyone with a welcoming moooo and a toy. She was a pampered pooch. When her kidneys started to fail I tried everything to prolong her life. A year of special diet and low protein treats gave her more time. For me it was not enough. Eventually she was not able to eat or drink and we scheduled an appointment with Lap of Love. Dr.Morgan was so patient to explain what was going on with her and after a box of Kleenex and some heartfelt discussion I realized that it was her time to be "set free" from her pain and suffering. I was apprehensive about doing this at home, but after experiencing the process I would not have rdone it another way. It was so peaceful and compassionate. I had time to grieve in the privacy of my own home and my beloved pet was not subjected to a miserable trip to the vet . Although I love our vet at Hawthorne Animal Hospital and with Dr. Helmers, Addie was not a fan of the vet office experience. Dr. Morgan was patient, compassionate and truly an angel. Pet hospice is the way to make a miserable experience more tolerable. I can't thank Lap of Love enough for their home visit on a Friday night before the New Year holiday weekend to help me say goodbye to a beautiful and loving pet. I miss you Addie. You have touched and been supportive to so many people in your life. I can only hope to be a person that comforts and brings joy to people like you did baby girl. R IP. Thank you Dr.Morgan for making the worst day of my life tolerable."Julie HurstGlen Carbon, IllinoisJanuary 19, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Melanie Cohen, DVM"In October 2017 I had to make the awful decision to let my beautiful Jefe go. He was just a month shy of 14 years old and was weak and in pain, losing weight fast, and so very very unhappy at becoming incontinent. Dr. Cohen came to the house and evaluated him and agreed that it was time; she saw more than I had been seeing. She was caring and gentle and compassionate, prepared me for each step in setting my boy's spirit free. Jefe simply went to sleep.

I still haven't come to terms with his loss, but Dr. Cohen was absolutely the best. She had patience and understanding for me, and skill, respect, and compassion for Jefe."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Our friend, Chloe, had been battling cancer for quite a while and unfortunately, her condition quickly deteriorated. When I took her to the vet, she was so scared and disoriented and I was unable to see her leave us under those conditions. Our vet recommended Dr. Toby. He came to our home the day after Christmas and was so unbelievably kind and compassionate. Chloe was able to go to sleep on her own bed under the Christmas tree, totally at ease and at peace. Our other dogs were able to come out briefly and get closure so that they weren't waiting by the door for Chloe to come home. Dr. Toby took care of the arrangements to have her cremated and communicated to our vet so that we didn't get automatic care reminders, etc. I've had to have dogs put to sleep at the vet because I didn't know about this service existed but I wish so much that I'd been able to give them this same treatment at the end of their lives. I would recommend Dr. Toby to anyone without a doubt. He's an angel."Kaysey CisnerosLas Vegas, NevadaJanuary 19, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Our family is so grateful for you, Dr Toby. From the moment we introduced ourselves to one another, we felt as ease with this difficult decision. I am grateful to share that Dr Toby made this experience peaceful and calm for our family. Your spirit is caring and genuine and that was made even more known as you treated our sweet girl with love and compassion. Upon walking through our front door, I felt such ease and peace of mind as we moved forward with our final act of care for Mandy. I truly believe that we are healing our family in a more peaceful way because of the care we were shown by you in our home, with our sweet pup. Thank you for your compassion and caring heart. Thank you for the way in which you eased our aching hearts and minds. We can reflect on that morning with a lightness and see it for the gift that it was.

Thank you, Dr Toby,

The Clark Family and our sweet Mandy"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Shell, DVM"Dr. Lauren was so gentle, even tender in the way she handled both Mathilde and us. Everything about her approach was deeply thoughtful and respectful, from explaining to us how she would proceed, to slowly and carefully approaching Mathilde and letting her get used to her so that Mathilde would be relaxed and peaceful when the process began.. People who do this this work are dealing with both animals and humans at their most vulnerable, and everything about Dr. Lauren's time with use made clear how aware of that she is. We feel a great debt to her for sending Mathilde home so gently."Angela BouwsmaCambridge, MassachusettsJanuary 19, 2018Matilda's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Stacy Michele Blake, DVM"Turbo went to heaven January 16, 2018 at 1:28pm. 18 years ago, this little bundle of joy ran into my apartment while my door was opened and never left. A true blessing for me all of these years. Turbo was my family.

I highly recommend Dr. Stacy for anyone who needs the support, love, knowledge, and guidance to transition their loved one to peace and comfort. We couldn’t have done this without Dr. Stacy. We not only appreciate her wealth of knowledge and compassion, but we love her for all that she is and does.

God Bless You Dr. Stacy (Hugs)

Warmest Regards,
Cori (And Turbo)"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis, DVM, CHPV"Our dog, Bugsy, had been battling cancer and had exceeded his prognosis by almost 18 months. We had seen a recent deterioration in his condition and were aware that his days were numbered. We had agreed, many months ago, that we would never keep him one day too long and his day came yesterday. Unfortunately, the snow had made it impossible for our regular vet to come along, as agreed, to help so my wife contacted Dana who battled through the conditions to get to us.
I was anxious about the process but our boy was gently assisted out of his pain and helped to a better place thanks to Dana's skill and professionalism , not to mention her compassion.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone in a similar position to ours, she went the extra mile by coming out in the bad road conditions , and is clearly dedicated to her work .
I wonder if she can do anything for tears?"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Stacy Michele Blake, DVM"Dr. Stacy was one of the kindest Veterinary Doctors that Turbo and I have had the pleasure of meeting!

As difficult as it was to put my Turbo to rest after 18 years of joy and companionship, I can’t thank Dr. Stacy enough for her kindness, in helping me through Turbo’s final transition to heaven. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. With the help of her guidance, love, compassion, patience, and knowledge, she helped Turbo and I through it and I know if Turbo was here and healthy, she would be sitting on Dr. Stacy’s lap right now loving on her and thanking her too for the gift of peace. Turbo would not have withstood being transported in a car to a veterinarian office as she was in too much pain and very weak.

The service and care Dr. Stacy provided for Turbo was outstanding and I’m truly touched and grateful.

We love you Doctor Stacy. And I know in my heart that Turbo is smiling down from heaven, thanking us for letting her go in my arms in the comfort of her own home, and giving her the gift of peace.

God Bless You (hugs)

Kindest Regards,
Cori Cochrane"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Green, DVM"Our Jester (14 1/2 year old Chocolate Lab) was a true free spirit who was born to roam. He was full of life and gave abundant kisses. A couple of years, he began to slow down significantly. He was diagnosed with mouth cancer. His hindquarters were rapidly weakening and he all but lost his wag. In the last few months, we saw his joy for life wane and his pain and discomfort grow. Still letting go was almost unbearable. We decided to call Lap of Love so we could keep our buddy in the comfort of our own home and that is how Dr. Katie entered our world. Dr. Katie was patient as we wrestled with the decision and tried to find acceptance. She gave us comfort. She allowed us extra moments to hug, pet and say goodbye. She was as gentle with us as she was with our Jester. She made sure he passed peacefully, painlessly in our arms and let us hold on as long as we wanted. I cannot thank her enough for honoring our grief and recognizing our special boy the way that she did."Kate and Tim McConnellSaint Johns, FloridaJanuary 19, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lori Braun, DVM"It was really helpful having Dr. Lori here for us, I really couldn't have asked for a better person to help send my sweet baby off. I felt very comfortable knowing she had worked with ferrets in the past and that she had been a ferret owner herself; I really loved how she loved on Garth! She made it as easy and comforting as it could be for us and Garth, and I'm so thankful for that."Korel and PK Ponti-FossPortland, OregonJanuary 19, 2018Garth's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Gill, DVM"Clairse was such an unusual kitty. She loved me unconditionally and tolerated my husband. She was banned from vet visits as she tended to be aggressive when approached. So she lived her 17 + years content in her kingdom getting and receiving love from my husband and me. When sickness came suddenly we were at a loss. We knew it was time for her to leave but did not want her final moments to be filled with anxiety and fear. I was hopefull she would pass in her sleep but, i understood that rarely happens. I found Lap of Love on line and made an appointment. I continued to be extremely anxious a I knew Clairse would not welcome anyone in her space. Dr Elizabeth called and assured me that she would use a process which would help Clairse transition peacefully. She was absolutely wonderful and the process was flawless. Clairse was able to go to sleep quickly in her favorite place. Thank you Dr Elizabeth!"jacque cockrellWinter Gatden, FloridaJanuary 19, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"I cannot thank Dr. Walters enough for helping us through this terrible time. Her patient and calming demeanor got us through this awful part of life with pets. She was so attentive and caring, and I'm so grateful we decided to use Lap of Love. I'm not sure I could've handled taking our sweet boy, Bruno, anywhere. He spent his last moments in the comfort of our home with us. We miss our crazy, funny, mischievous, beautiful, 15 year old guy so much!"Carrie RandallCONCORD, North CarolinaJanuary 18, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Fry, DVM"I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason for the ultimate good. That was certainly the case when Dr. Erica came to assist us with Ginger. It was a God send that our vet was out of town and recommended Lap of Love. My husband and I both had experienced euthanasia with other pets, but never at home and not with such a beloved one as Ginger. Dr. Erica put us at ease, but more importantly, she put Ginger at ease as soon as she arrived. Ginger sensed that she was there to help her. No one could have been more compassionate, considerate and caring as Dr. Erica. I am so grateful she was there for us and for our sweet girl. God bless you, Erica."Barbara and Bobby MoffettCedar Hill, TexasJanuary 18, 2018Ginger's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Samantha Souther, DVM"I can't speak highly enough about the care and compassion shown by Dr. Sam. She made an awful situation better, though it was still extremely painful (for me). But it was comforting to know that Maxie was in such great hands, and Dr. Sam helped her exit peacefully and serenely, on my bed with Maxie's head in my lap. Three months after, I still tear up, but it helps to know that my good companion of over 15 years couldn't have had a better caretaker help her through this part of her journey. Dr. Sam has my deepest gratitude."Charles DonnellyPhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaJanuary 18, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Steven Schultz, DVM"Dr. Schultz was compassionate, gentle and patient. He spent much time with us, discussing Zachary's quality of life and his illness. Our conversation helped us make the difficult decision. Zachary's passing was done in stages to allow for a peaceful and calm experience for all of us. Thank you, Dr. Schultz for helping all of us but most importantly, our precious boy, Zachary, pass peacefully."melanie cooperWilliamsville, NYJanuary 18, 2018Zachary's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Webster-Boden DVM"My Lap of Love Veterinarian was Dr. Jessica Webster who showed great compassion and love throughout our difficult journey. Her gentleness and sweet spirit was a great benefit to us both, helping us both to remain calm. Lap of Love is fortunate to have Dr. Jessica on their staff as she has excellent skills for helping animals and humans alike through such an important and profound experience."Laura UtrechtDallas, TexasJanuary 18, 2018Leonardo Di Catprio's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dawnetta Woodruff, DVM"It's been a year since Oscar left me and I miss him EVERY single day, but I am 150% positive that my acceptance of him being gone, affecting my healing process immensely, was so much more enlightened because of Dr. Woodruff coming to my home, to Oscar's home, and having the opportunity to sit on the couch with him in my lap - he went to sleep in my lap the same way he did when he chose me to come home with 21 years earlier, by curling up in my lap and going to sleep...it's given me so much peace to know that he was at ease and that put me at ease."Sheri JoyceSt. Louis, MissouriJanuary 17, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Thanks to Lap of Love my wonderful English Bulldog Branzo (Bubs) was able to have his last moments at home with his family. He was only 3 years old and had been battling cancer for a couple of years. He is constantly remembered by the actions of our other two bulldogs. I'm comforted to know he is at peace."Jenney ManzoHenderson, NevadaJanuary 17, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Webster-Boden DVM"Dr. Jessica has a heart of gold, just like our beloved dog Ginger. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Grant, DVM"Two days before the New Year we had to say goodbye to our sweet little Honeybear. Until the last moments of her life she loved everyone around her. She cleaned her brothers face, as she did for 13 years., and ate her favorite bologna. Dr Amanda came and ever so gently eased her pain and helped send her to The Rainbow Bridg. We are forever grateful."Barbara FlemingCoral Springs, FloridaJanuary 17, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Thank you so much Dr Jordan for being here yesterday to help us say goodbye to our sweet little angel Pudgie. He was 14 years old and lived a long wonderful life full of love and joy., And thanks to Dr. Jordan the end of his life was filled with love also. One of the most difficult things we’ve had to do was made into a beautiful sending off. I am forever grateful for Dr. Jordan."Barbara FlemingCoral Springs, FloridaJanuary 17, 2018
