Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Boden, DVM"When I could tell that my elderly cat, Nieuwy, was nearing the end of his life, I started researching in-home euthanasia and selected Lap of Love. Dr. Sarah was very kind and made the whole sad process much less stressful for Nieuwy and, therefore, for me. Sadly a few month's later, a visit to my local veterinarian confirmed that my other cat's cancer had returned. I contacted Lap of Love again to arrange for hospice care for Brenden. Thanks to Dr Jessica's wonderful veterinary care and practical advice to me, we were able to maintain a good quality of life for Brenden until the spread of his cancer made euthanasia necessary. Every interaction with Lap of Love has eased a very difficult time, and I am very grateful for this invaluable resource."Allen, TexasJanuary 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordy Merrifield, DVM"Dr. Jordy was an absolute godsend in helping us with our dog Brewster. It was very traumatic as he became struck with a terminal tumor only a day prior. The tumor had developed within a week, and it was completely unexpected. Although Brewster was 12 years old, he still acted very much like a puppy and never had a health issue in his life. It came as a shock and the diagnosis and decision was very difficult. Dr. Jordy's receptionist Lisa was excellent on the phone and very patient with me as I tried to get through the call for scheduling. When Dr. Jordy arrived, her demeanor and presence were very calming and soothing. My 11-year-old son was present, and this was his first experience with having to lose a pet, especially the one who has been there his whole life! Dr. Jordy was very respectful of the situation and spoke to him as she did me. She explained what she would do and what would be happening with Brewster as a result.
We have another dog, and two cats and Dr. Jordy was very comforting to them. Brewster was able to pass in my son and my's lap, surrounded by the other pets in the home in a tranquil and peaceful environment. I will forever be grateful for the experience Dr. Jordy provided for my son and me. She took Brewster away in a basket with a blanket covering everything but his head. He appeared peaceful, comfortable and sleeping, which is the way I would always want to remember him. This service meant so much to my son and I. We appreciate the paw print in clay and the hair clippings she gave us of Brewster. It was the best experience is a very traumatic circumstance."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Gorney, BVMS"Yesterday, I had to make the decision every pet owner dreads. My sweet companion for 13 years, Shelby, was showing aggressive signs of pain and discomfort. Knowing she was petrified of car rides and the vet, I wanted to ease her suffering but didn't want to stress her out. By chance, I googled vets that make house visits. Thank God, I was blessed with the Lap of Love website. When I called and made the appointment, I was treated with such compassion and every question was answered clearly. When Dr. Erin Gorney arrived at my home, it was like God sent me an Angel! She treated my sweet girl as though she was her own. Dr. Erin also treated me with the same respect and dignity. There are no words that can express my gratitude for Dr. Erin. ❤❤❤"Laurie LorenzLockport, NYJanuary 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne, DVM"Having to say goodbye to your family member after 16 years of love is hard enough, but having to make the decision yourself is worse. I did not know what to expect when Jessica walked through the door, and I can honestly say this decision was the best decision I could have ever made!! We had to put my dog, Scootch, down 1 year ago on January 9th. Jessica came in and showed so much respect, care, understanding, and love. She was warm and comforting and ensured that my dog was taken care of right until the end. I never wrote a testimonial after because it took me a while to adjust without having him by my side and then time got the best of me. I received an email from Jessica reaching out on the 1 year anniversary of him crossing the rainbow bridge, and that sealed the deal. She is the best and this service is the best! I could never imagine leaving him alone during that time and thanks to Jessica and Lap of Love, I was with him until the end. Thank you!"Casey ChimaHatboro, PennsylvaniaJanuary 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard, DVM"Dr. Jo couldn't have been nicer or more professional when we had to say goodbye to our 19-year -old cat, Annie, on Christmas Eve. Though medically time, it was emotional to have to say goodbye to the feline star of the family. Even though we had just met Dr. Jo, we felt no awkwardness processing the event with her there. She seems like a genuinely caring person, and her gentleness with Annie, and with us, was most appreciated. I am getting a bit misty -eyed thinking about how much we miss Annie, but I know contacting Lap of Love and working with Dr. Jo was the right decision."Janet MarthersDecatur, GeorgiaJanuary 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"What a wonderful experience you created for us at a very sad time. Your care and empathy was really appreciated. Lucy was a wonderful dog that we enjoyed for 11 years. She became part of our family and helped keep watch over our business up until her last days. We are really missing her but know she is no longer in pain and is in a much better place. Your caring and compassion will be remembered and made a very hard task much easier for us. Thank you so much."Suzanne RaitzKannapolis, North CarolinaJanuary 11, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne, DVM"From the moment Dr. Ashley entered my home, I could immediately feel her love and compassion. She explained everything and gave me as much time I needed for questions or more time to be with my Lilly. The basket and soft blanket was a loving touch for Lilly's last moments.
I'd recommend Lap of Love to anyone who has to make that difficult decision of saying goodbye."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Sharpe, DVM"Our beloved Great Dane, Leo, was diagnosed with congestive heart failure this past weekend and his heath went down-hill quickly. He was a sensitive , gentle loving dog and we knew we had to be compassionate and wanted his life to end peacefully in our home.

I knew of 3 other friends who had utilized Lap of Love when the end was near for their pets, so we called and set an appointment. A man named Josh set everything up and we were impressed by the manner in which he spoke and handled everything.

Dr. Sharpe arrived at our house and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye to our boy; she was quiet and supportive and explained everything to us in a compassionate manner.

As Leo was well over 200 pounds, they had to set up a special pick-up with the company who would pick him up for cremation and they too handled the situation with dignity and grace.

We are so grateful that a company such as Lap of Love exists to help both the pet and their owners deal with the last moments of the pets life at home where all are comfortable and at peace.

Thanks,
Todd and Joe Stonewall"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"Saying goodbye to our sweet Kacie was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do. Kacie was with our family for 16 long years. When it came time for what every pet owner fears the most, my mom found Lap of Love. I had never been through something like this before which made this situation even more scary. Dr. Jen made sure that me, my mother, and most importantly Kacie all felt as comfortable as possible. She was so calm and gentle. She told us each play by play so that we knew exactly what to expect. She genuinely cared and asked us about how Kacie was in her best days. She was compassionate and understanding. She was exactly what my mom, Kacie, and I needed that day. Thank you, Dr. Jen."Jordan SmithHarrisburg, North CarolinaJanuary 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kara Fuchs, DVM"For one of the toughest and saddest things you'll have to do in life Dr. Kara made the experience the best it could possibly go. I don't have words for how thankful I am for her patience, knowledge and genuine compassion during this sad time. I rescued my old man Oscar (cat) from a local humane society three years ago. Fully aware he was 13 yrs when I got him I knew our time together would be short. Nonetheless when the time to pass on came don't make it any easier. Dr. Kara helped Oscar transition to his next world without pain, which is all we can ask for when our time on earth comes to an end."Kelli ImdiekeBloomington, MinnesotaJanuary 11, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Klickman, DVM, CVA"I’m in the military and kind of new to the area. My sweet Harley was diagnosed with a spinal condition a couple of years ago at a young age. Our vet then said at that time there wasn’t much that is humane we could do but enjoy our time with her before it ends. Well we did! We had a son and she ran amok with with him for almost 4 years which was a miracle. Unfortunately it finally caught up to her. She was bouncing around and suddenly she couldn’t bounce anymore. Being new to the area and not knowing where to go we were referred here, especially Dr. Rachel. She was beyond amazing and VERY caring. Honestly I wish we would never have met but I am very grateful to her and the staff. They made this hard process easier for me and my family. They even came early before my son came home from preschool which I am most grateful for. This has been rough for my family but I am very thankful for these angles of mercy, which is what they are. Thank you so very much for helping Harley."Rob hurleySeverna park, MarylandJanuary 11, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"I just wanted to thank you for helping to complete Cy’s Circle Of Life in such a painless and comfortable way. I am incredibly relieved that her final moments were so comfortable in her own house, on her own couch… with another cheeseburger! Izzy seems to be coping well in Cy’s absence. She follows me everywhere as usual but does not seem to be looking around for Cy. And thank you for allowing me to ramble on, relieving my nervous energy. I will be forever grateful to you and will highly recommend your services."John HayesRockwell, North CarolinaJanuary 10, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"Dr. Morgan was simply the most gracious, kind, patient and caring person through the entire process. I recommend her and Lap of Love wholeheartedly to anyone and everyone who is remotely considering this service. I really did not want my sweet girl's last breath to be taken at the vet, a place she never liked to go in the first place. Having the last moment's of my sweet little Lucy's life be calm and peaceful, at home and in my arms, with myself and my partner telling her how much we love her and will miss her was the best gift we could give her as well as ourselves."Angie FultonSt. Louis, MissouriJanuary 10, 2019Lucy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Aspen Perretta, DVM"Dr. Perretta allowed Barney to have a comforting and peaceful end to a beautiful life. When we think of what a dog would want as their purpose, and how they would best want to live and pass, I believe Barney can say he checked every box. Dr. Perretta helped us with the most difficult of those boxes.

Dr. Perretta provided peace in myself and in our house. Reflecting on his passing, I see that Barney knew it was time, from the moment he greeted Dr. Perretta then going to his bed and waiting patiently while I talked him up. Barney knew she was there to help him pass peacefully in his home.

We couldn’t have asked for more.

From our Family, thank you for the difficult work you do."
