Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Gill, DVM"In a tough time, Dr. Elizabeth brought peace to our dog Lyla.

My husband and I adopted our German Shepherd Lyla when she was 2 years old. She was a kind spirited and had a ton of energy. She loved her tennis balls, squirrels, and outside time. Lyla quickly became the light of our lives. She knew all her commands and loved being by our side. She followed me outside to the mailbox, to bed, and even to the bathroom. Lyla was my furry shadow.

At 9 years old, Lyla was unexpectedly diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma (cancer in her abdomin). Her vet reported that it had metastasized to her spleen and there was no surgery or chemo that could prolong her life. This was a shock, but we decided to make the best of Lyla's remaining time. We researched cancer diets, prepped all her meals, and made sure she got plenty of outside time. (She was living a healthier life than us!) After 2 months of her diagnosis, Lyla's routine started to slow down. My husband and I made a promise to each other that we would call Lap of Love when we saw a decline in her normally energetic routine. Sadly it was time.

With a sudden decrease in Lyla's energy and spirits, we called Lap of Love in Orlando, FL. Dr. Elizabeth was everything I wanted for our Lyla in her final moments. She was calm, patient, and empathetic. Her visit started with getting to know Lyla. Petting her, telling her she was a "good girl", and listening to our concerns. Lyla was completely at ease, relaxing in our living room... and so were we. Dr. Elizabeth gently walked us through the process of euthanasia and waited for my husband and I to give her the "go ahead". When it was time, Dr. Elizabeth respectively gave us our space and allowed us to say good-bye to Lyla. It was sad, yet beautiful and we thank Dr. Elizabeth for this experience."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"I highly recommend Lap of Love and Dr Jen Walters if you are in the Charlotte, NC area. They were able to schedule at time for the same day I called, which was really good as my baby could not hold on another day. Dr Walters was very compassionate and did not seem hurried. She allowed me to talk and reminisce about Ginger and also was able to answer any questions I had. She was punctual and caring until the very end of her visit."Ken Rutherfordcharlotte, North CarolinaJanuary 14, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Thank you Dr. Brad for providing our beloved Winston a respectful and comfortable transition into the afterlife.
Winston's final days were so wrought with pain the thought of moving him into the car to be put to sleep seemed incredibly cruel and inhuman. Lap of Love Veterinary at home euthanization provided us and our beloved dog the comfort of his home, it also; allowed us as grieving parents the privacy to be ourselves and hold him and kiss him to his last breath. Dr Brad treated Winston with professionalism and respect throughout this very painful time. He handled his little body with the same loving kindness that my Winston deserved. As I mourn his loss; I will have the comfort of knowing that even in his death I gave my baby the best.
We are forever grateful for the Lap of Love Organization and Dr. Brad."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne, DVM"Kylee was just short of her 16th birthday. Friday morning she could no longer stand and with her eyes she asked me to make that tough decision. Being treated rather abruptly by local vets I found this wonderful organization . Dr. Jessica came to our house. With a cheery fire in the wood stove and soft music, Dr; Jessica spent time getting to know Kylee , and Kylee accepted her as a friend very quickly. When Kylee was sedated and pain free we took about a half hour to say goodby. When it was done Dr. Jessica made us a paw print cut some locks of Kylee's fur for us.. Lap of Love and the young vet Dr. Jessica have made this tough, tough time much easier and turned the day into one that I wish to remember. Thank you very much."Roy & Cindy OhrbergQuakertown, PennsylvaniaJanuary 14, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"Dr. Amanda was the best. It was such a difficult thing to put our fur baby Jakey down but Dr. Amanda was so sweet and nice and very patient with us, and helped us thru the ordeal. In home euthanasia is definitely the way to go. Our Jakey was in his comfort zone all warm and cozy instead of the floor of some vets office. His last breath was not in fear from being in the doctor's office, but safe and secure in his own bed. Much better way to go for him. Thank you so much Dr. Amanda. I don't know how you deal with all sadness and grief day after day, but I'm glad you do what you do."Jim JensenYorba Linda, CaliforniaJanuary 13, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christine Baldwin, DVM"Christine was wonderful. She spent time explaining the process and made me feel comfortable about my decision. Her compassion for both Fritz and myself was touching. I can't say enough about how impressed I was with the way she took care of Fritz. Thank you Christine!"Karen KennedySherman Oaks, CaliforniaJanuary 13, 2018Fritz's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carly Billeaudeau, DVM"Dr. Carly is truly an angel on earth. The decision to euthanize our sweet kitty, Oreo, was a very difficult one, to say the least. Although I knew deep in my heat that it was for the best, I agonized about it each and every day prior to our visit from the doctor. My husband and I cannot say enough about Dr. Carly; a beautiful lady with a heart to match, we found her to be both professional and personal. She patiently sat with us and listened to our story, then took our precious Oreo on his journey across the Forever Bridge. We will have pets for as long as we're able, and I will never think twice about calling Dr. Carly when the time arises again. Although none of us want to face this heartbreaking experience, we know it's inevitable. I thank God for Dr. Carly and the fact that Oreo crossed over without even a wince of pain. God Bless you and all others that care so much for our furbabies, Dr. Carly!"Anne BrassettBaton Rouge, LouisianaJanuary 13, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Allie Prokop, DVM"Dr. Allie was very easy to talk to. She was understanding, patient and empathetic. She was able to understand my blubbering and was just very gentle about the whole situation. I can't even fathom having to do this kind of thing on a regular basis but she handles it with grace. She made an extremely difficult decision a little bit bearable and I really appreciate everything she did for me and Moochie."Riley BronaughKnoxville, TennesseeJanuary 13, 2018Moochie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Dr Jordan was a blessing during this rough time in our lives. His kind words and compassionate nature made this very difficult time easier to process. He explained to us the procedure and assured us that our sweet girl would be comfortable during it.

He gave us all the time we needed to spend with Riley before we had to say goodbye. During this time when it’s hard to say goodbye, we were not rushed and were able to say goodbye on our own terms and when we were ready.

Dr Jordan is a true blessing."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Spitzer, DVM"It's been a week since Jessie, our 17+ year old chihuahua told us it was time for her to leave her body and it could not wait any longer. We were fortunate that Dr. Jessica could accommodate us that day since our home was in some turmoil due to the recent fires and we were preparing for the possibility of floods and mud and debris flow in the next week according to weather forecasts and disaster predictions...She fit us in at a time that worked for us, and our baby, who was incontinent, had kidney failure and had gone blind had a peaceful passing in our home among familiar things in our arms. Dr. Spitzer made a difficult time simple and and satisfying. We appreciated her competence and professionalism while we experienced the process that we acknowledged had to take place inevitably. We recommend her highly!"Christy CantrellVentura, CaliforniaJanuary 12, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Garcia, DVM"We want to thank Lap of Love, especially Dr. Jessica for being there in our time of need. Rocky was a true warrior, he went through 2 surgeries to remove mast cell tumors, endured a brain bleed as well. It was the little things that we noticed were a little off. Rocky could not get up on the couch or bed as easily as he used too. We took him to the vet and he had blood work, and the worst of results (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). We were beyond devastated, they told us he had 1 -3 weeks to live if we did nothing. Long story short we tried chemo (Wisconsin protocol), unfortunately he went downhill fast. In a matter of 16 days our poor boy was not able to stand or walk; we knew it was time. Rocky was surrounded by his entire human family as well as his canine family, he fell asleep in our arms and Dr. Jessica was able to help him along peacefully. We can not say enough about the care and support we received throughout this difficult time.

Thank you, Lap of Love and Dr. Jessica. Rocky was our rock, he will be missed more than words can express!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kimberly Moen, DVM"This was such an amazing experience. Misty had not been well for a long time and I knew it was time to free her of her pain and discomfort. I sent an email this morning with my information and by 3 pm today Misty was free from pain and suffering. Dr. Kimberly was amazing. She was so professional, soft spoken and so understanding. She came with a beautiful basket with lavender and purple bedding. I had a friend with me and we had soft spiritual music in the background. Thank you Dr. Kimberly and everyone who I spoke with for making this a beautiful experience instead of a sad one."Corinne FrainDelray Beach, FloridaJanuary 12, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"The decision to put our dog Jake down was extremely difficult to make, but we wanted him to die at home. I was unsure of using a vet I was unfamiliar with until I met Dr. Erin. I immediately felt a sense of calm as she walked through the door. She really took the time to explain what was going to happen to Jake. She was kind, compassionate yet the utmost professional. I highly recommend Dr. Erin. She made a difficult situation easier to handle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Dr. Erin."Christine ChesterAlbuquerque, New MexicoJanuary 12, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Becky Frank, DVM"This service was done for my son Eric and his dog Duke but the service was done at my home in Hamburg. What a beautiful experience! It was such a peaceful process and Becky was amazing and very comforting. I only wish that we as individuals could choose to pass from this life in such a beautiful and personal manner. the paw print, the lock of hair...how special! Becky laid on the floor with Duke and when he had passed she said in a low voice "Duke has his wings"! Such a moment! Although I did not book the service I was there and witnessed something beautiful and I will highly recommend this service to anyone who needs it. Thank you!"Barry DriesbachHamburg, PennsylvaniaJanuary 12, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Losing a pet is always so hard but having the opportunity to meet Dr Deveau was comforting in so many areas. Our beloved Jackie O (14yrs) a Golden Retriever was an incredible pet. Her love for others, beautiful smile and eyes blessed our lives for many, many years. When she was diagnosed with cancer we thought we had a few months but unfortunately it was weeks. We wanted her to provide her the love and honor she gave us to her in her final days. We contacted Dr Deveau and from the moment she entered our home we ALL (my wife and I and our other dog Bisquit) knew this is what Jackie deserved. Her kindness and love was so REAL. Jackie O immediately reacted with love and grace with Dr Deveau. Knowing she was there for us at anytime was so comforting as we went through the final days.
Knowing we did not have to take her in a car and hand over to our vet and rather have it in our home was a spiritual and powerful experience for all of us. She died as we hoped she would, in our home, on her blanket, next to her buddy Bisquit with both of us saying our goodbyes; this is helping us tremendously in our upcoming days and weeks of grieving. Thank you Dr Deveau for your passion, knowledge and love for what you do, it was truly a gift for all of us."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Steven Schultz, DVM"Today Dr. Steven came and gave us a beautiful gift. We were able to say goodbye to our 15 1/2 year old Terrier Joya. You couldn't ask for a more loving pet. She did everything with us. We will miss her terribly but never forget her.
Lap of Love and Dr. Steven are the most wonderful things we could have done for her."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"Making the decision to say goodbye to our Kona was so difficult. I wasn't ready but I was never going to be. I wanted to keep Kona forever but he was in severe pain and we had reached the end of treatment options. We had to move forward with our decision. We could not have done that without LapOfLove. Dr Jen came to our home and didn't just deliver a service but became a compassionate, caring and gentle friend. She loved on our boy with us while we talked about him and his life. She answered all of our questions and moved at our pace. She was the strong experienced hand that we needed to lean on. She supported us and provided us with a peaceful loving moment as we "set him free.""Jennifer NourseCharlotte, North CarolinaJanuary 11, 2018
