Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cathy Berquist, DVM"I wanted to say Thank You to Dr. Cathy Berquist for her wonderful bedside manner and also thank Lap of Love for being available on such short notice. Dr. Cathy was amazing and took the time to explain things in detail and share this difficult moment with our family."Christine AlbaLutz, FloridaJanuary 9, 2019Princess dakota's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Merchant, DVM"Dr. Elizabeth helped me through the process and was extremely compassionate. This was the worse decision I have ever made. I am so glad we were home and not in a hospital somewhere."Kristen LangankeRiverview, FloridaJanuary 9, 2019Apollo's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cary Mackey, DVM"My sweet Emmy was 15 years old. I had just taken her to the vet for her yearly exam and was told all looked well. I was not expecting to have to think about euthanasia in the very short term. After spending the evening in the ER, however, it became clear that, given the current circumstances, it would be best for Emmy to let her go and prevent any further suffering. I did not want to increase her discomfort or anxiety, so therefore looked for a vet who could come to my home on a Sunday. I could not have asked for a more sympathetic, gentle, or kind vet. Dr. Cary was very sensitive to Emmy and our entire family. She made the worst of situations tolerable. Emmy was very much my child. I felt Dr. Cary was an angel to help me through one of the toughest moments of my life. I highly recommend her."Mindy GlassTucker, GeorgiaJanuary 9, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"It is such an awful thing to have to make the decision to euthanize a pet. The people at Lap of Love made it the best experience it could be under the circumstances. All of the women who I talked to on the phone (I think 3 different ones) were just about the nicest people you could want to talk to. They were all very helpful, compassionate and understanding each time I called.

The vet, Dr. Keri Morgan, was also the sweetest and most caring person we could have asked for. She was so loving towards our dog and to us and made the whole process...(I want to say good, though it is hard to use that word in association with such sad thing).

It was so much better to do it at home as well because who would want their dog's last moments to be of a traumatizing visit to the vet clinic. Instead we were able to spend the last minutes outside in the sunny yard.

Again, for such a sad occasion, they really made it so much easier and I would recommend them to anyone who in in this kind of situation."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kayla Stomack, DVM"My family and I wish to thank Dr. Kayla. What a blessing from the moment she walked into our home till she left with our Sadie. I am so happy a man at the vet gave me one of your cards, he could see Sadie and I were struggling. I never knew a service like this existed but now everyone I know with a dog will know. This was one of the hardest things I have had to do letting go of Sadie. The hole in my heart is feeling better and will in time. My Daughter-in-law is a RN and this impressed her so much she wants to go into End of Life Care. Our whole family can say nothing but praise on how Kayla showed so much compassion and love for what she does. She is truly a Asset to your field. Thank you Dr. Kayla for spreading my Angels wings and sending her home with all our love. We will see you again."Linda BushMadison Heights, MichiganJanuary 9, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne, DVM"The only thing that could make a difficult decision (and an even more difficult experience) better is a loving doctor who has the ability to add light to such a dark moment. Dr. Ashley was truly wonderful and instantly showed Emma love upon meeting her. If I had any doubts about my decision, she took them away with her caring demeanor and the way she listened when I talked about Emma. I was blessed with nearly 14 amazing years as Emma's mom during which we created thousands of memories. She touched the heart of anyone she met, even people who weren't dog lovers. She was my first Old English Sheepdog and just as sweet as can be. I feel as though a chapter in my life has ended now that she's gone and I'll miss her so much. I'll see you on the other side of the rainbow bridge Emmabear! Thank you for your unconditional love, loyalty and your amazing personality. My life won't be the same without you, but I'm so happy you are rid of your tired and aging body and able to run free now! I love you!"Tiffany NoblesAlpharetta, GeorgiaJanuary 8, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sue Mowatt, DVM"Dr. Sue was amazing and gentle and answered all of our questions. I am so very thankful for her and her staff for making this very sad occasion the best that it could be."Mandy HorrellSacramento, CaliforniaJanuary 8, 2019Gus's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Probably one of the hardest things you may ever have to do in your life is to make that final decision for your fur baby. Our Phoebe was a rescue who lived a long and pampered life. It was difficult watching her in pain and making that decision for her. Our veterinarian recommended Lap of Love to us and we can't thank him enough. It was such a wonderful experience to have it done where she was most comfortable, in her home. Dr. Jordan is the most compassionate and caring vet we have ever met. He guided us through the process and gave us as long as we wanted with her. Since we have another dog, I said my goodbyes to her and took the other dog for a walk, as he is young and we felt it wasn't right for him to be there at that time. My husband and sons were there and it was very peaceful for her. I cannot thank Dr. Jordan enough for his time and patience, and would highly recommend Lap of Love to anyone who is struggling with this final decision."Paula RappaportPembroke Pines, FloridaJanuary 8, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lori Braun, DVM"When we came to the decision it was time to let Ida go, it was the most difficult decision our family had ever made together. When Dr. Lori came to assist us, she was kind, compassionate, understanding and supportive. She even called me the day before and spent time on the phone with me listening to me explain why this was such a difficult decision for us to make. As well as thoroughly explaining, step by step what would take place the following day when she came to my home. I can not imagine laying my sweet girl to rest in any other way than to have Dr. Lori at Lap of Love come into her dwelling and make it as comfortable as she did. We want to thank Lap of Love and Dr. Lori from the bottom of our hearts for making such a difficult time bearable. And of course for giving my sweet Ida all the Brownies she could have ever wanted."Lisa HackneySalem, OregonJanuary 8, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"On Wednesday, Jan 2 2019 I had to make the hardest decision of my life. I had to have my beloved 10 year old rescue dog Shelby put to sleep. The vet had recommended Lap of Love to help us when the time came. I called Lap of Love on Wednesday morning and was given an appointment for 3:00 PM that afternoon. Dr. Heather Manfredi called 15 minutes before she arrived. When she got to the house, she was so caring. She could see how heartbroken we were. She hugged me and told me she understood. She asked to see Shelby. Shelby could sense her kindness and wagged her tail. Her eyes lit up ever so gently. Dr. Heather petted and talked to Shelby. She then asked us about Shelby, how we got her, funny moments in her life. We laughed and cried. I felt as if I had known Dr. Manfredi for years. When it came time to put Shelby to sleep she gave her some pain medicine. A little while after that she administered the anesthesia. Shelby went very peacefully surrounded by the people who adored her. After a short while, Dr. Manfredi checked Shelby and said “Shelby has her wings”. Dr. Manfredi then went to her car to get some blankets. At that time my ring doorbell sounded its bells. It was like “It’s a Wonderful Life” and I smiled because it was proof in my heart that my Shelby did indeed have her wings. Dr. Manfredi carefully and lovingly took Shelby into her car. I kissed Shelby goodbye and hugged Dr. Manfredi. I was so grateful for the loving kindness that Dr. Manfredi showed to us and to Shelby. It was so clear to see her love of animals and how compassionate she was to us and Shelby at the worst possible time in our lives. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Manfredi and Lap of Love to anyone who is going through the difficult time of having to put their pet down. Honestly, I don’t think we could have gotten through this without her. Dr. Manfredi is an angel herself. I will forever be grateful to her for her kindness to us and Shelby."Carol AguilarBabylon, NYJanuary 8, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rene Butler, DVM"Dr. Rene’s care of us was exemplary. I had some anxiety, as is normal I'm sure, over how things would go for Roxy and just wanted her passing to be dignified and peaceful, befitting of her life. Dr. Rene enabled that for her and provided such compassionate care to me and her at the same time. I miss Roxy in the quiet moments and when I remain still in our space, her space. My life is understandably so very different without her for the first time in 14 years. As hard as grieving is, I wouldn't trade a minute.
I did relay our experience with Dr. Rene and give her card to my neighbor, whose dog is approaching 18 (!!). He's still pretty spry but, as we know, the time does come. I was grateful to be able to recommend someone whom I know will provide amazing compassionate care during such a difficult time. Again, I feel like she has a gift in the practice of her specialty."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Dr. Erin Deveau peacefully transitioned our dog Buster in the most incredibly kind and gentle way possible. This made losing our very dear friend less painful. I would recommend her to anyone who has to transition their dog. Wow - I couldn't believe how such a painful thing to have to do was such a peaceful experience. Thank you so much Dr. Erin. We love Buster and know he is at peace now."Jackie McDowellAlbuquerque, New MexicoJanuary 8, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce, DVM, CVA"Dr. Kim was beyond compassionate. Her presence was calming and confident. Our other dog who often is very excited when visitors arrive was even able to rest on our couch, I think in part due to her peaceful presence. She made a difficult situation much easier with reminding us that we were making the compassionate decision & providing Charles with a beautiful gift of peace. My husband and I also appreciated that she talked us through everything which helped make the process easier to understand and accept."Maja & Jake VerduzcoDenver, ColoradoJanuary 7, 2019Charles's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra Healy, DVM"I couldn’t have asked for a more compassionate and kind person to help Chester cross the bridge. I called her out twice and texted or emailed her many times in between but she always responded quickly and with understanding. I first contacted her on Christmas Day and she responded right away. She gave me several more good days with my boy and for that I am so very thankful. It was a difficult time but I am so glad I contacted Lap of Love and that I didn’t have to make that last trip with Chester. He died peacefully in his favorite spot with his favorite people around him."Peggy CarbineFalmouth, KentuckyJanuary 7, 2019Chester's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico, DVM"Putting a pet to sleep is one of the worst experiences one must endure, but I am so grateful that Lap of Love exists because they make an unbearable experience as peaceful and comforting as possible. We utilized Lap of Love for the second time recently, as we said goodbye to our 14-year-old Mastiff/Labrador mix, Boomer. (We used them in 2014 when we had to say goodbye to our 12-year-old Labrador.) Having suffered a second stroke, Boomer awoke in the morning with almost no mobility and severe disorientation. We knew it was time to let him go and made the phone call when Lap of Love opened at 7:00 a.m. Dr. Elyse was able to get to our home between 9:00 - 10:00 the same day, which truly minimized our dog's discomfort as well as our anxiety.

Dr. Elyse was amazingly warm and comforting throughout the process. She explained each step of the process and showed tremendous love for our dog and empathy for us.

I would recommend Lap of Love to anyone who is facing the terrible decision to let a pet go. It saved our dog (and us) the trauma of loading him into the car and taking him to a cold and sterile veterinary office. Boomer passed peacefully in our arms and in our home."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"I contacted Lap of Love in November. I spoke with the nicest, kindest woman. I described to her the condition of my 14 year old Bichon. She was so patient and caring...I shared that I was hoping that my little dog could make it through the holidays. Dr. Katie kept checking with me. On Jan. 4, Dr. Katie came to my house...it was time to say goodbye to my little Sammy. This woman is an angel...she had such a gentle touch and was so kind. She explained to me every step...as I watched my little girl slip away, I found a strange sense of relief knowing that her pain was ending. Thank you, Dr. Katie, you will forever be in my heart!"Mary ParkerSt. Augustine, FloridaJanuary 7, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra Healy, DVM"We knew that Riley at age 18 did not have much time left. His mobility was getting worse each day. Then the day came that he couldn't stand or walk. He was so sad and frustrated. I turned to Lap of Love and Dr. Healy. She was so kind and soft spoken to our loved pet. Having him pass at home was the best for him. He was not scared or agitated. She was wonderful with him. Thank you Dr. Healy for for helping us through this sad time.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Boden, DVM"Dr. Jessica Boden was amazing. She made a difficult situation very relaxing and pleasant. I couldn't have asked for a better process. We are EXTREMELY grateful. We had our pup for 15 years and she wouldn't let go. Dr. Jessica explained everything she was doing to our Bailey and chatted with us about her life while the process was happening. Very healing. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to do Home Euthanasia. We didn't want a cold Vet Office environment."Alexis LathropGrand Prairie, TennesseeJanuary 7, 2019Bailey's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Dr. Heather is a wonderful kind person who made our last moments with our beloved dog Harry as easy as possible.
As all animal lovers know, our pets become a part of the family. Harry was a companion to all three of my children as they grew and a true buddy. At the end sometimes you are not sure if you are doing the correct thing and what really is best for the animal and not the family. Dr. Heather was so compassionate and caring. She treated our last moment with the utmost respect and love. She truly represents your companies name, Lap of Love. After Harry passed, Dr. Heather said to us all that Harry had just gotten his Angels wings. What a beautiful statement, one that I keep thinking about every day. We miss Harry every day but the quality of care received from Dr. Heather could not have been higher and I would recommend her without reservation."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Regan Harp, DVM"We cannot thank Dr. Regan enough for his kindness and ability to lessen the pain of such a heart-wrenching experience. His love for his work and compassion for the families and animals he assists was evident and I hope that we will be able to have him assist us again should we need it. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the service you provide and the compassion with which you do it."Robin AtwoodMurfreesboro, TennesseeJanuary 7, 2019Bailey's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Today, Dr. Heather came to give our boy Mylo his angel wings. We knew in our hearts that we were doing the best thing for him, but the level of compassion and care she gave to us, and Mylo was something I will never forget. I can’t express my gratitude to her and the people I spoke with at Lap of Love enough."Stacy LemmermannLindenhurst, NYJanuary 7, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce, DVM, CVA"Mark Lowry wrote a book “Dogs Go To Heaven”. If so, our beloved McKenzie dog is enjoying God’s green pastures with arthritic joints, kidneys and heart murmur healed. Knowing Kenzie’s final time was nearing and that we wanted “that” time to come at home, our vet gave us information on 3 hospice veterinarian services. About that time our area newspaper ran a feature article on Lap of Love and Dr. Kim Bruce and, sometimes fighting through tears, I researched all 4 services and their reviews. When we couldn’t put the decision off any longer, my hubby and I chose Lap of Love and we couldn’t have made a better choice. The gentleness and caring Dr. Kim showed both us and our McKenzie was superb and exceptional. If anyone reading this has that decision ahead of them, I highly recommend the services of Dr. Kim Bruce at Lap of Love. You’ll not find a more caring soul."LaDene HazeWestminster, ColoradoJanuary 6, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordy Merrifield, DVM"We cannot even begin to thank Lap of Love for all they did to help us say goodbye to our sweet dog, Chili Bean. We called to get information and spoke to Julia, who started our journey with such compassion. They had an open appointment for that day, but we didn't think it was time yet; however, Chili started to go downhill and when we called back, we were told that Dr. Jordy could come to our house late that afternoon. That was our first miracle, our second miracle was Dr. Jordy.

Dr. Jordy felt like an angel to us. She was there, but only lightly, never intruding on our precious time with Chili, only there to guide us and give Chili the peace she so deserved, sending her over the Rainbow Bridge ever so gently. We were able to say goodbye to our Chili Bean in her backyard, which she loved so much, with the sun shining on her and the birds singing. It was the most peaceful parting we have ever had with one of our dogs. Thank you Lap of Love."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"On Christmas Eve, 2018, my sweet boy Ruyi’s body shut down. I knew it was coming for months, but his condition made even my most ardent denials untenable. I called Lap of Love and set an appointment for Christmas morning.

Dr. Morgan showed up at my door in the morning, as was as professional and kind as anyone could be, given the circumstances of having to work on a holiday.

It was a hard day - probably the hardest I’ve had - but Dr. Morgan was calm, loving, caring, and explained herself through every step of the process. She knew what I was going through, and her empathy was practiced; she felt my pain with every fiber of her being and it was sincere.

I wish these kind of experiences on no one, but they are inevitable. When they do finally come, you hope to get someone like Dr. Morgan, and I did. I will be forever grateful for her kindness and generosity.

Thank you,
Joseph Christy"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"We recommend Lap of Love and Dr. Amanda Page wholeheartedly, even with our broken hearts.

Dr. Amanda was caring, yet efficient. We were not anxious to see our Pepper go, but we were not able to see him suffer a moment longer than he had to, once we made the decision. The end was a "Goldilocks" end. Not too soon, not too late. But just right. And, he knew! But he still loved us enough to assure us it was the right thing to do. To the very last second, he was watching out for us.

We are still so touched by the gentleness of the experience of Pepper’s last moments. We are both still a little "raw" but so happy he went peacefully. As in, we hope our last days will be so sweet.

Lap of Love's customer service representatives were terrific, too. Very gentle, careful with our feelings, and willing to help however they could to help us get through the decisions we had to make.

Lap of Love fills an exceptional need for pet owners and their pets.
Thank you to Dr. Amanda and to Lap of Love for making a sad experience bearable."
