With this option, your pet is cremated privately at a licensed crematory. They can also be made available directly from the crematory or mailed to your home or office.
This option is for families that don't wish to have their pet's ashes returned nor wish to bury at home. Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets at a licensed crematory and ashes are scattered by the crematory.
There may be a fee if additional assistance to safely carry your pet out of your home is needed.
We are here to answer your questions every day, from 7am - 11pm. Appointments are scheduled throughout the week, please call for availability.
Sometimes, pets take a turn for the worse overnight, so we do our best to accommodate same day appointments with a few hours notice when possible.
If this is a medical emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or one of the emergency clinics listed in the Local Resources section.
Lisa Littlejohn, DVM
When I was a little girl, I aspired to be many things—a hair dresser and a pizza maker among those. In high school, I started working at a local animal hospital as a receptionist. With time, I eventually moved into the kennel and started working hands-on with the animals. I quickly developed a love for dogs and cats and always wanted to know how to make them better. During those years, I became a veterinary technician and decided being a veterinarian was my dream job. I set my sights on the University of Florida for both undergraduate and veterinary school. In 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. In 2010, I attained my goal and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Since graduation, I have been in General Practice and have gravitated towards end-of-life care. There is something so unique and special about our four-legged family members. They give us the unconditional love that we all want and need. For us, they may be a small piece of our life. But for them, we are their WHOLE world. I feel helping that loved one pass in the clinic doesn’t provide them with the respect and love they deserve. Instead, it should be a peaceful, calm and pain-free passing in a comfortable place surrounded by the ones they love the most. I am truly honored to help you and your loved ones through this difficult time.
“At the end of the day, when we leave this world, the only valuable legacy we leave behind is the love we gave to others and the love others gave to us."
"Dr. Lisa is an amazing doctor and a beautiful soul. I can not say enough about the love, comfort and support she provided for all of us during Bear's last moments. You will always be a member of our family.

"The day we had to let our Lucky dog cross the rainbow bridge was one of the most heart-wrenching days we have ever experienced. We were the lucky ones to have had Lucky in our lives for 15 of his 17 years he spent on earth. As it became apparent that Lucky was in pain, we made the decision to contact our local veterinarian, Midway Animal Hospital, to find out if one of their vets would come to our home to tend to Lucky. They recommended we contact Lap of Love. Dr. Lisa Littejohn was one of the most caring, compassionate people I have ever met. She understood our love for Lucky and the emotional pain we were experiencing as we said goodbye to him. She examined Lucky and confirmed he was in his final hours with us and that while she couldn't say conclusively, it appeared he had cancer. We chose as our last act of love for Lucky, to let Dr. Lisa relieve him of his pain. She helped us preserve a paw print and locks of his hair for our daughters, and had a special basket with her for his final car ride. We chose a private cremation, and Lap of Love returned Lucky to us a few days later in a beautiful wooden box with an engraved nameplate. Dr. Lisa emailed us and sent us a card to see how we were doing , as did Midway. When we returned from the holidays, we received a thank you from the UF Vet school stating that Lap of Love had made a donation to them in Lucky's name. We will miss our sweet Lucky forever, but we couldn't have made it through this tough time without Dr. Lisa and Lap of Love."

"I am so happy & pleased with the way that Dr Lisa assisted me & "Franklin" my cat, at his moment of need. She was so caring & supportive . I also commend her staff, who also assisted me and gave me such peace of mind.
Franklin was completely relaxed & comfortable in his home , which was so important to me, knowing how traumatic t;the car ride to the Animal Hosp was for him.
The care and comfort Dr Lisa gave to Franklin was remarkable... He was treated like a prince....and his final time at home with me, was a time that I will always treasure....Knowing that he was given such comfort, dignity & LOVE...
I hope that if anyone has hesitation over their pets care at this sorrowful time, that they should consider the high quality of dignity & love that Lap of Love gave to Franklin and me during this final journey....

"Dr. Lisa made doing the right thing for Jack possible, and without her pillowside manner I don't think I would be recovering from this profound sadness as well as I am. Larry is still not ready to hear about Jack's fabulous trip over the rainbow bridge but accepts my account that it was the very best it could be. Thank you Dr. Lisa for your following your heart in this needed area. Debbie and Larry"

"I spoke with Dr. Littlejohn on the phone and she seemed very kind. But when she came into the house, looked at me, dropped her bags and came to me to hug me in a wonderful, strong bearhug, I knew for certain she was truly sincere and really did believe in what she was doing. I took my first deep breath in days, because i knew she was invested in helping our boy go home in a relaxed, non-fearful way, and validated our grief. She took her time with all of us, had us share our stories of Homie and memories of brighter days. Dr, Littlejohn is an amazing person and doctor. She truly cares and I think she is in the job she was born for, Thank you, Dr. Lisa. You made one of the most difficult times of our lives as peaceful as possible. The honor you showed us you had for Homie while preparing to take him has won you a place in our hearts forever. Thank you for everything. We will never forget you, and you have our eternal love and gratitude."

"We found Dr. Lisa to be extremely patient, kind, and professional. Just a lovely person! The first time she came out we just weren't ready and Dr. Lisa felt that Maggie wasn't either, and she recommended something for pain. Wheit was time, Dr. Lisa came again, but now she came into our home as a friend. She sat and talked with us for a long time, and helped us prepare ourselves, explaining everything. She has a talent for walking bereaved people through a very difficult process. Afterwards, she emailed several times to see how we were doing. Thank you Dr. Lisa for everything you and the kind people at Lap of Love did for us. You all deserve an extra halo in heaven, for sure!"
