8/1/1999 - 3/6/2017Bowie, my dear friend and loving companion. I will miss you always, your love, affection, warm cuddles and loud singing meows. You have been with me through the best and worst of times, always a comforting presence. I wasn't ready to let you leave this world, but I knew it was time. You had grown so weak and you wouldn't touch your food anymore. But you were also a fighter and I could see that fire inside of you trying to keep carrying on despite how ill you had become. I knew it was time to let go my sweet angel. You will always be in my heart and the hearts of those who you always brought a smile to. I love you little buddy, rest in peace.Bellevue, WashingtonMarch 7, 2017
Light a Candle

Dear Bowie, you skinny little rascal! :)

Waking me up as the sun came up with your paw, cold and wet from your water dish, straight on my naked ankle. Taking my spot on the couch when I got up for three seconds to get some water. Coming down to stare at us from the stairs while we watched TV, before returning to your little warm spot on the bed. Greeting me with meows at the door when I got home from work, and then let out a different meow so I'd know you wanted food, because the food from that morning wasn't "fresh" enough anymore. Sitting on my belly while I was in bed to get premium pets, and slowly inching forward towards my face until I finally provided them....

All these little things you did to show us your love, and teach us about responsibility and patience, are becoming clearer now that I think back to the time you spent with us. Thank you so much for it all, I know that we've grown to become better because of you, and the cuddles (and sass!) your brought into our lives.

I love you, Bow. I promise you that the little paw print you're leaving on our hearts will never be erased. May the seat you're loafing on now be forever warm.
