Polo
8/21/2004 - 6/12/2018I'm so happy that Polo's suffering over the last few days of his life was completely overshadowed by his amazing life with us for nearly fourteen years, that were the best any dog could've dreamed of experiencing. One of my friends told me last night that dogs only know how to love unconditionally and that's why they don't live as long as us. Because they know their purpose. And I know that everybody will always talk about "their dog being the best", but I can say with confidence that love was the only thing Polo knew how to do. He was NEVER aggressive towards a person or another dog, and was so gentle with every interaction he had. I have always wondered of the psychology of dogs. What they think about and how they think of things and of us, because they obviously aren't human thoughts in a certain human language or emotion. However he envisioned it, I know Polo knew that we loved him, and I hope that's what he thought of most during his final few hours.Nicholasville, KentuckyJune 13, 2018
