Gizmo

"Today we say goodbye to our beloved Gizmo—the self-appointed supervisor of our lives and the heart of our home. Whether she was 'noodling' around the house or keeping a watchful eye on every project we started, Gizmo made sure she was exactly where the action was. She never met a stranger and had a special, patient soul when it came to children, earning her the well-deserved title of 'Nanny Gizmo.' At the end of a long day, she knew exactly where she belonged: tucked into bed on her very own pillow. The house feels far too still without her watchful gaze, but we are so grateful for the years of snuggles and the quiet comfort she gave us all. Rest easy, sweet girl. You’ve finished your shift."

Captain Hook

Captain Hook was more than a dog, he was my guardian angel through the hardest and bravest moments of my life. He was my best friend, loyal protector, and constant companion. I miss the sound of his feet, his singing, his wiggly butt fluff, and his vocal demands (and button pushing or throwing) for food. Thank you for being our protector. Thank you for loving us so fiercely. Thank you for saving my life, Captain Hook—without you, I never would have gotten out. I promise you, Captain, I will stay safe.

Pabu

Pabu was the first dog to call my own and the experience felt like a blessing. Pabu taught me a new kind of love, patience, and care. I felt so lucky he was undoubtedly loyal. I was ecstatic to be able to spoil him with toys. When I would come home with new toys, he showed much enthusiasm and he was so playful. I will miss sharing snacks, having my roomie, our daily walks, and our evening decompressing sessions. Thanks for being an incredible, first bud.

Lazarus

Lazarus was sunshine itself. He loved to sing, stretch, roll around, drink from faucets, scale bookshelves, untie shoelaces, knock over water glasses, destroy Christmas decorations, chase sunbeams, and make new friends. He owned every room he ever sauntered into, always had something to say, and never once covered his business in the litter box. He wasn’t much of a lap cat — he was a sit-beside-you cat, a follow-you-everywhere cat — but he knew just when to crawl onto a person’s chest, right over their broken heart, and press his sweet, pink nose to theirs.
