My Doberman dog suddenly got very sick, although he was only about 7 years old, and our vet could not stop the illness. He was in pain and suffering, so we decided we would do the kindest thing and ease his suffering. He weighed a great deal and, being old ourselves, we knew we couldn't deal with this at the vet, so we tried to find a vet to come to us. We live out in the country, so vets told us we were out of their range. Lap of Love did not quibble, they got our info and Dr Cowles was out the same day. She was tender with the dog and with us. She was very understanding of the pain we felt and she stayed until we were ready to put him in the ground. We truly appreciated the kindness she showed our dog and us. Dr. Gary came to our home during one of the hardest moments of my life, and I truly cannot express how grateful I am for the care he provided. He was incredibly kind, gentle, and patient from the moment he arrived. He treated Sansa with such genuine compassion and affection, making sure she felt safe and at ease the entire time. Letting her go was heartbreaking, but Dr. Gary created a peaceful and comforting environment that helped ease that pain just a little. He took his time, explained everything softly, and handled Sansa with so much dignity and love. It meant everything to me to know she was in such good, caring hands in her final moments. I will always be thankful for the warmth and empathy he showed us. It made an unbearable experience feel just a bit more bearable.
