Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Laura Porta, DVM"Dr. Laura came into my home as a stranger and left as a friend. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was made bearable because of her. She took her time, didn’t rush me, explained everything up front and as she was doing it. She was wonderful to me, my husband and my little boy. I have never met a sweeter, more understanding person in my life. She was amazing and I am very grateful and thankful for her. She couldn’t have treated Max any better if he was her own baby. And she helped me through a horrible time."Robin CousinoTaylor, MichiganFebruary 12, 2019Max's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carling Sitterley, DVM"Dr. Carling was very sympathetic, compassionate, and respectful during our time of grief. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce, DVM, CVA"Dear Dr. Kim,

Thank you so much for the kindness, compassion, and support. Even though we know that Rosie was/is an angel herself, I believe that even angels have angels. And you were definitely sent to Rosie, me, and my other furrbabies as "Acting Angel" this past Sunday.

I am so grateful that you came to help us through such a difficult day. I cannot thank you enough for giving both Rosie and me the gift of "Peace". She needed you to help her cross over comfortably and peacefully, which you did. And you helped me make sense of the timing of it all. I believe that Rosie spoke through you in letting me know that she stayed for me until she knew I would be fine. Thank you for that message and for helping me to make that connection with Rosie!

Although Bindi, Marcello, Isabelle, and myself are all mourning the loss of our sweet girl, because of you we can do so in peace.

Gratefully and Sincerely,
Sherry Pike"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Loren Gassler, DVM"From the moment I called Lap of Love, I was treated with kindness, cooperation and professionalism, all of which were sorely needed at this difficult time.

But on the day of our dear Cooper’s passage, Dr. Loren Gassler took that compassion to a level I never expected. From the moment she arrived, her focus never shifted from reassuring us and making sure our beloved pet was comfortable. There was no rush, no missteps and, most important, there was no doubt that we had made the right decision and placed our trust in the right person.

Dr. Loren’s genuine concern — before, during and after — was beyond heartfelt; it was cathartic. I highly recommend her to anyone who is going through this transition with their pet."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sarah Tangeman, DVM"After agonizing over letting our little French Bulldog go, we had the privilege of having Dr. Sarah come to our house. She is the sweetest, most compassionate person we have ever met. She helped my husband and I go through the worst thing fur baby parents have to face. We didn't want this to happen but Ginny was in so much pain. She is in heaven now along with all our other dogs and her best friend Fiona the Basset hound. I believe God made Sarah just for us, what a wonderful service that you provide at such a horrible time for us. Thanks again."Tweed ClarkArlington, TexasFebruary 12, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordy Merrifield, DVM"Our Casey girl was diagnosed with skin cancer in December and we knew we did not have long with her. I contacted my veterinary to see if he would come to the house ...when it was time... to put Casey to sleep. He didnt do that but referred me to Lap of Love. From the first phone call until the day Casey died they were nothing but compassionate and loving towards me. So much support!!
On February 9th the time had come. Dr. Jordy came to our home and she was understanding , compassionate and caring. She treated Casey as one of her own. Casey went peacefully with her family surrounding her . The Dr. Jordy treated Casey with so much respect. We put her on the stretcher and Dr. Jordy covered her with a nice purple blanket. Since purple is my favorite color, I am sure it was Casey's too. We felt comfortable and at peace with the whole process.
The next day I received a follow up email from Dr. Jordy.
Its one of the worst decisions you have to make for your pet and one of the hardest days when you have to let them go. But Dr. Jordy and everybody at Lap of Love made it easier."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Burns, DVM"We didn't know what to expect when we first called Lap of Love. You far exceeded our expectations the minute we met you out front. We were surprised that you were so upbeat with Daisy and the both of us. She LOVED you! (She also loved your Twinkie. LOL.) We both expected it to be a somber time but were delighted that our last memory will be one of joy. It really was a gift that we gave her and obviously we could not have done it without you."Robert and Stacy GuleNew Britain, ConnecticutFebruary 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce, DVM, CVA"What an amazing service Lap of Love and Dr. Kim Bruce provide. Bad memories of visits to the vets office with previous pets had made just the thought of letting my little girl go a truly unbearable task. The initial phone call, although difficult, was very professional and at the same time supportive and caring. Dr. Kim came to my home and was so incredibly kind and gentle, my Melly's passing was peaceful and tailored to what we needed. Being at home was the best choice and by far the most comfortable for us all. I will be forever grateful to Lap of Love, it takes true angels to do this work. Dr. Kim Bruce is HIGHLY recommended."Kitty MageeLakewood, ColoradoFebruary 10, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cathy Berquist, DVM"This is the third time Lap of Love has come into our home to guide a beloved pet to the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Cathy was truly a gem from the moment she arrived. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"When I think about special people that cross our life's path Dr. Jordan comes to mind. We met him under circumstances that nobody wants, but he made everything easier for us. It takes special people to help somebody go thru with hard decisions while comforting broken hearts. But most of all show so much compassion and patience! He is not only a skillful doctor, he is a skillful listener and hugger! I appreciated him for the kind person he is and I am truly grateful!"Paula CsikiPompano Beach, FloridaFebruary 10, 2019Rusty's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristine Campanelli, DVM"Through the kind suggestion of our friendly, "dog-lover" neighbor who had heard glowing testimonials about the compassionate services of Lap of Love, we called the local number and were immediately touched by the caring manner of Donna, the person answering our questions and helping us prepare for the impending death of our beloved 14 year old black Lab mix, Buddy.. A few days later when we knew it was time to say "Farewell," we called again and spoke to a different greeter, Alex, this time, who also impressed us with her tender, sensitive responses to our teary phone call, making final arrangements for our loving caretaker of 14 years.

Dr. Kristine Campanelli arrived promptly on the day and time chosen, My husband Joe and I escorted her to our sunny family room where Buddy was dozing peacefully on his bed. She knelt down and said "hello," as he raised his head and said "woof," his way of telling us a stranger was there. After giving him a treat, they became best friends. We talked for a few minutes, told a few stories, and shared all the things we loved about Buddy, Then, we turned on soothing music, meaningful hymns that talked to our heart, sat nearby, and watched Dr. Kristine gently tend to Buddy. She gave us all the time we needed to bid "goodbye" to our faithful pet.

After Buddy closed his eyes the final time, Dr. Kristine clipped a scoop of "Buddy hair" and put it in a plastic case, and then made a precious "paw print" in clay as cherished "Buddy keepsakes" for us. Sliding Buddy over onto a tiny black stretcher, after tucking him into a cozy, warm blanket, \with his little head visible appearing to be in a heavenly sleep, the sashes were tightened and Joe and Dr. Kristine carried him to her SUV to be taken to the crematorium, his ashes to be returned to us in a few days.

Joe and I felt this to be a "sacred" experience, bringing our hearts much peace and comfort, seeing Buddy comfortable on his own bed, next to the sliding door with all his friends - woodpecker, cardinal, blue jays, sparrows, starlings and baby squirrels - all looking in, surrounded by his favorite toys, and in the home he filled with joy.

We were so grateful for such a heavenly parting, knowing Buddy would get a fabulous welcome from our two oldest children, (21 year old Denis and 19 year old Peggy who had died in a 1986 car accident), and from Mickey and Max, the two black Labs who preceded him as our gentle caretakers, filling our house with love, laughter, and noise,

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Abra Osorio, DVM"When our beloved Belle let us know it was her time to go we called Lap of Love and are so very thankful that we did. Dr. Abra Osorio made the hardest decision we ever made so much easier than we ever imagined it could be. She was so kind, gentle, thoughtful, caring and loving to our Belle and to us. I cannot express in words our gratitude to her and the peace she brought to this heart breaking moment of our lives. Although we are, of course, grieving the loss of our precious fur baby we are at peace knowing we were able to provide a loving, stress free passing for her thanks to Dr. Abra. Thank you Lap of Love and thank you, Dr. Abra, from the bottom of our hearts."Maggie WilliamsThompsons Station, TennesseeFebruary 10, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"I am so thankful for Dr. Heather.
Dr. Heather made my good girl Kelly feel safe and protected. That was so important to me.
She was incredibly kind and compassionate. I am so thankful that she asked about what Kelly liked to do. This made me strong and able to handle the situation. It kept me talking so Kelly could hear me.
I was given all the time I needed to say a proper goodbye.
Kelly was not alone. She felt my touch and heard my voice right up to the end,
Thank you so much for your kindness. I will be singing your praises to anyone who asks."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Dr. Heather was absolutely phenomenal. What was the worst thing I ever had to do in my life, she made it a little bit easier. Dr. Heather came into our home with a very warm and understanding way. I felt like there was no possible way I could go through with this process, let alone have another person lead the way. I was wrong. I felt understood. Bubba, my dog, felt understood. He accepted her and relaxed in his bed comfortably. It was his time to go and I know if it was not, Dr. Heather would have let me know that. She took her time in explaining everything that was about to happen, and made sure I was okay with each step before she proceeded. I love my Bubba so much, and am so grateful for how peaceful his passing was, at home with my mom and I, thanks to Dr Heather. I'm grateful I got to be with him, but am sad he is no longer with me. He was my first dog. My first furry son. Thank you for everything."Megan pustPatchogue, NYFebruary 10, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Thank you Lap of Love and Dr. Toby. I am so grateful that you were here to assist with such a sad and difficult moment for me and my daughter. I don't know how you do what you do every day, but I am so thankful that you are here to help our beloved companions in their final moments with us."Alissa AllardLas Vegas, NevadaFebruary 9, 2019Sadie's Pet Memorial
