Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Spitzer, DVM"I am most grateful for the compassion shown to us by Lap of Love during our agonizing decision to say goodbye to our beloved Jasmine. From the receptionist who made the appointment for me through my tears, to Dr. Spritzer's visit to our home, to the doctor's followup email and handwritten card, every detail was handled with personal attention and respect. I reluctantly made the phone call at about 11 am on a Saturday and Dr. Spitzer came at 3:00 that day. She spoke gently and explained every step. I had dreaded having to go into the vet's office to do this and I didn't have to--I was able to hold Jasmine in my arms, as always, at home where she felt loved. We were given private time to say goodbye. Dr. Spitzer prepared a paw print and gave us some of her hair to keep. When she left our house for the last time, she was wrapped warmly in a blanket and laid in a basket, looking peaceful. After a long illness, I take comfort knowing she is no longer suffering. Thanks to the service provided by Lap of Love, she was able to stay at home with her family until the very end. We have nine other animals. When the time comes for them to join Jasmine, we will certainly have Dr. Spitzer help us say goodbye again. Thank you for providing this compassionate service."Lisa LygaSimi Valley, CaliforniaMay 13, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"When we had to make the dreaded phone call, Lap of Love was there for us. Fortunately, Dr. Toby was able to come out that same day and give our fur baby the most kind and compassionate care we could have asked for. We prayed for a peaceful and calm experience for our beloved dog and that is exactly what we received. Everyone at Lap of Love treated us with kindness, patience and understanding. Our difficult time was made a little less difficult. Thank you, Dr. Toby for guiding us through a terribly heart wrenching process. Your tenderness with our fur baby was extraordinary and meant the world to us. You have a unique and valuable gift. Thank you for doing what you do. We are forever grateful."Denise DitsworthLas Vegas, NevadaMay 13, 2019Gipper's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Regan Harp, DVM"On the most difficult day of my life, Dr Regan made this experience as comfortable and peaceful as possible for both myself and my sweet Rosie.

I honestly couldn't have imagined her passing to be any more peaceful than it was.

He allowed me to stay laying with my baby girl and holding her while she took her last breathe. He made this day about us being comfortable and that meant more than I can ever put into words."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Olivieri, DVM"Dr. Tina made what was one of the most difficult decisions for our family a compassionate and peaceful experience. She walked us through each step of what to expect and let us take as much time as we needed to grieve with our beloved Buddy during the last hours of his life. Buddy was at ease, comfortable, and passed in the familiarity of his own home. Even as he was carried out of our home for the last time, he was wrapped with care and dignity in cozy, colorful blankets. This final mental image of parting was so important and gave us closure. The staff that answered my frantic phone call on an early Saturday morning was also so reassuring and kind. Thank you Dr. Tina and Lap of Love for your expertise and kindness."Jennifer HsuLos Angeles, CaliforniaMay 13, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Fry, DVM"Thank God for Dr. Erica! Because of her Sid was able to pass quietly and peacefully at home. I’ll always remember her kind, patient and respectful demeanor and how she made things as easy as they could be. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Loren Gassler, DVM"I was scared that I was making the biggest mistake of my life. I thought: what if he knows? What if he is sad that I am doing this? What if it is not the right time?
Well as soon as Loren came to my house and answered my questions she assured me that what I was feeling was normal and that this would really be the best to give him a pain free exit from this planet. She explained everything well and made me very comfortable with my decision. She was so kind and patient and made the experience the best (given the circumstances). I’m so glad I went with this company and that Loren came to put Oliver to rest. I think because of Lap of Love and becuse of Loren I was able to feel less guilty and feel better knowing I was there with my family and we were all surrounding Oliver with love and kisses until his last breath. Thank you Loren you really helped in those final moments."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"There is not enough space to say all the wonderful things about Lap of Love. This was my second time using Dr. Brad and he will ALWAYS be my choice to help my beloved pets pass and cross the Rainbow Bridge. Of course, the pet's comfort level is of utmost important. No stress going to the vet's office, which most dogs do not like. They are able to pass on their own dog bed, sharing it with the owner's arms wrapped around them, whispering how much you love them enough to let go so they feel no more pain.
Alternatives are discussed with pros and cons and they do not rush you to decide. Time is of no essence because they definitely are there for you and your pet at this most difficult time with outstanding compassion. Like I said, I could go on and on, but I would and have recommended Lap of Love to everyone. Four people I have recommended them to have used Lap of Love and have called me back to say how wonderful they are in a time of sorrow."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"Our sweet Zuko had been with me since I built my house 14 years ago. He's seen a lot... wedding, kids, and babies. My kids loved Zuko like part of the family. He'd been fighting cancer over the past year and at our most recent appointment, the vet said it was time. He suggested Lap of Love which was new to me. Dr Katie came over to help Zuko cross the proverbial bridge. She explained to the kids what she was going to do so they understood. She showed complete concern and compassion. Thank you Dr Katie."Jennifer RampOrange Park, FloridaMay 12, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"Katie Stender is the most compassionate and gentle person. God saved her just for Buster and my family. Had it not been for her true commitment to her work, this would not have been as smooth and easy as it was. We will be eternally grateful that she was chosen to help us with this goodbye. Thank you Dr. Katie and Lap of Love."Marta LewisMiddleburg, FloridaMay 12, 2019Buster's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"Dr. Jenn was very calm, quite spoken, and compassionate; listening when I needed to talk and waiting patiently when I was unable to. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Gill, DVM"Dr. Elizabeth was such a gift to us - Cherish became ill very quickly and in a matter of a few weeks was unable to get up and walk easily on her own. She stopped eating for a few days and after visiting a specialist, she was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. In her final week with us, she spent most of her time laying down and resting, but it was clear that she was in pain. She was unable to go outside on her own and my husband would carry her out to the yard periodically so she could get some fresh air, but she wasn't able to really walk around at all. We couldn't bear to watch her suffer anymore and although it was heartbreaking to let her go, Dr. Elizabeth helped make the process as peaceful and loving as possible. We made Cherish comfortable in her dog bed at home and were with her as she left this earth behind. We played soft music and lit a candle for her - saying goodby with one of our favorite songs "Here comes the Sun" by the Beatles. Dr. Elizabeth was so caring and thoughtful - allowing us as much time as we needed to be at peace ourselves and let us stay with Cherish the whole time comforting and petting her as she slipped away. She also helped to make sure that our other dog was able to be present and cared for during this difficult time. I can not thank her enough for her love and kindness and for making sure that Cherish was handled delicately and sent over the rainbow bridge with dignity. I whole heartedly recommend Lap of Love for any families facing the same situation with their loved one."Kristie MosesOrlando, FloridaMay 12, 2019Cherish's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Fry, DVM"I can't say enough about Dr. Erica Fry. She helped us care for both Abi and Keb, and she made our final moments with Abi meaningful and peaceful. She explained everything clearly and with compassion. We will never forget her support and kindness."Lisa CarrDallas, TexasMay 11, 2019Abi's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Cain, DVM"People are different and react differently to end of life decisions with their pets. Dr. Rachel Cain was intuitive enough to read me and know my jokes and funny stories was my reaction to the grief of this difficult decision. She was so comfortable and easy going, laughing at my jokes, and could still ease me into the truth of what was happening. I am someone who does not feel comfortable with sharing my emotions with strangers. Dr. Rachel Cain did not feel like a stranger, but I still felt the need to hold back. She picked up on my "vibe" and left with upmost professionalism and sympathy after which I cried like a baby. To fully understand my situation, I present my pet's obituary which I posted on social media:

(( Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has left the building.
"Your mother loves Solomon"

Elvis passed peacefully with the help of Lap Of Love Veterinary Hospice in the comfort of his home while eating bacon.
Origin and exact age are unknown. Elvis was a complicated individual, loved to be loved, but only his way. He was described by his vet who often boarded him for vacations as "the happiest angry dog".
At one point while defiantly refusing his insulin shot, with a mouth full of food, under a towel (for my protection) the growling gargle sound took on the exact words "Your mother loves Solomon". These were the only words he spoke during his life, that I am aware of...And no, I am not making this up. Elvis spoke those words.
RIP Elvis. Wag your nub, anxiety free with no more sticking insulin shots twice a day. Run wild and free, for "All dogs go to heaven."))
Thank You
- Chris"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne, DVM"Its a heart wrenching decision we, as loving pet owners, have to make. But, it was time to let my Ivanhoe leave this world peace. For 15 years Ivan shared his love with us and all of those he met along the way. Giving him a comfortable, familiar, loving place in my arms to leave this world was the last thing I could do for the dog who gave me so much. Dr. Wilbourne was so kind, supportive and reassuring to us during this difficult time."Stephanie FoxLambertville, New JerseyMay 11, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM""Stevie" was our kitty for 17 years, and for most of his life, he was healthy. Gradually, he started developing health issues and we'd make adjustments. Last weekend, we knew it was time to make the decision we'd been dreading.

From the moment Dr. Stender arrived, we instantly felt at ease. She explained everything to us and treated Stevie like a prince, with so much kindness and warmth.

We are healing much better after Stevie’s passing than we have after the passing of our previous fur-babies, because of this experience. We had the chance to be together in a comfortable, familiar place, holding him while he was being lavished with love - who (whether a human or fur-baby) could ask for more?

We so appreciated her kindness and care in helping Stevie make his way home to heaven!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Dr. Manfredi halved my anxiety from the minute she arrived. Honest, yet calming and loving she spiritually guided us through this process keeping in mind always that Dale was the number one focus. We were never left wondering and Dale never felt anxious or nervous.
Heather treated us all with care, respect, love and sympathy. When she arrived I said to her "wow you picked a tough job". She replied and said not at all, some doctors help baby's come into the world and some help them to leave.
Heather has handled both of my two recent pet passings, I can't imagine going back to the clinical procedure this was in my past with other pets. Lap of Love and Dr. Manfredi have given us a gift that can never be repaid except to spread the word."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kiley Cameron, DVM"Thank you so much for your help saying goodbye to Poe. Your assistance and kind words have meant the world to us. This, unfortunately, isn’t the first time I’ve had to say goodbye to a pet. However, you and Lap of Love have helped make this the first time that the only pain I have is the pain of loss & absence. In the past I’ve always felt a lot of guilt and regret about the end of my pet’s lives. Thank you so much for helping expunge any doubts or regrets I had about our choices. You let us know it was the right time. You reminded us that we got a lot of extra time with her and that we didn’t wait so long that she was suffering more than comfortable. Thank you all so much for making this a peaceful, gentle, and cathartic process. It’s a great thing you all do."Travis WellsRichmond, VirginiaMay 10, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristine Campanelli, DVM"We had our Chocolate Lab for 13 years, when she suddenly stopped eating. We did all the test necessary to find out what was wrong. After 8 days of no eating and 3 days of no fluids we made the hard decision to put her to rest. . Brooklyn had given so much love to our kids and even our granddaughter we knew in her best interest we needed to let her go. When Dr. Kristine Campanelli walked in the door we could felt at ease due to her caring & compassionate demeanor. She made us to feel comfortable with the decision we had made. She explained everything to us in detail step by step. Our granddaughter was present for Brooklyn's last moments. She told our daughter about a book she should read to her daughter to help her through the process. I personally have never had to put an animal down, but Dr. Kristine definitely made the pain of losing a family pet comforting."Darlene FreundSetauket, NYMay 10, 2019
