Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"This service is a godsend. My dog Buddy's cancer had come back a few months after he had finished treatment for Lymphoma. He could barely walk, wasn't eating, and was whimpering all of the time. He was rescue dog, a border collie mix my sister and I had gotten five years ago to help our father cope with the passing of my mother. A lot of people say that their dog was the sweetest, but Buddy was truly the most gentle soul you would ever meet. All of his dog walkers, his vets, and his groomer were greatly attached to him, and always commented how docile he was. He'd had a hard life when we met him, having adopted him from a rescue center that saved him from a kill shelter in Georgia. I'd like to think he is at peace now, after some years as a part of our family.

Dr. Heather was so gentle with him. She gave us the luxury of letting Buddy go peacefully in his own loving home, without the fear and anxiety of having to move him to the vet, where he would have been scared and in pain. My sister and I sat with him for an hour or so, snuggled, and watched him gently go off into eternal sleep. When it was over, Dr. Heather let us have some alone time to mourn, and eventually snuggled him in a fleece to be brought to the pet cemetery Field of Dreams.

It was the most humane, gentle, and loving way to go. I could not recommend this service enough."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Wilbourne, DVM"It was an incredibly painful and difficult decision to say goodbye to our Sunshine. Thanks to Dr. Jessica, we know we gave our dog a peaceful end to her life. Dr. Jessica was calm and competent with our dog and wonderfully compassionate with us. We had all the time we needed to say our goodbyes; nothing felt rushed.
We also received a lovely email from Dr. Jessica the next day with helpful advice and some resources we could access for grieving pet parents.
Dr. Jessica gave us the great gift of making us feel we did the right thing for our beloved Sunshine."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Roger Chase, DVM"We had to say farewell to our cat that had been with us for over 12 years due to her kidney's no longer functioning. Other experiences could not even compare to our experience with Dr. Chase. He was patient, kind, respectful and allowed us to do what we needed to do in order to let go. Having this service in our home was the best possible way to have to send our pet onto the next journey. Thank you again Dr. Chase. Your services were very much appreciated!"Melisa K.Salt Lake City, UtahDecember 3, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sunday Cozzi, DVM"I heard about Lap of Love years ago, but only used their services recently. My grandparents needed hospice care at the end of their lives and I wondered if there was such a thing for pets. I was so relieved to find that there is. Having been through the long natural death process with several of our cats, I always worried if they were feeling any pain, or were scared or if there was something more I should be doing. We contacted Lap of Love as soon as our regular veterinarian gave Mr. Peanut a terminal diagnosis. We knew that since he had cancer, a peaceful, natural death would likely not be possible. Dr. Sunday reached out to schedule an in-home consultation with us for hospice care. She spent time assessing Mr. Peanut, addressed all of our concerns, helped us with a plan for pain management and gave us lots of helpful tools for continually evaluating his quality of life. She checked in via email regularly and it was comforting to know that she was available for any questions we had as they came up. When Mr. Peanut let us know it was time, Dr. Sunday came out for in-home euthanasia. She was very kind, compassionate and thoroughly explained the process and made sure we knew that there would be no pain or fear. She was great with my 11 year-old son and helped him understand all that was happening and that it was a peaceful experience for Mr. Peanut. I really can't recommend Lap of Love and especially Dr. Sunday highly enough. I feel so grateful to have this type of end of life care available for our pets."Jennifer VazNorth Augusta, S. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Olivieri, DVM"I called Lap of Love on an early Sunday morning after realizing my sweet dog Irish's time had come. My call was answered by a person, not a service, who was very gentle with me. She gave me information about what services were available and anticipated costs. She was able to schedule a vet to come within 3 hours. Dr. Tina arrived within the time specified and was calm and compassionate not just to my dog but to me as well. She carefully assessed the situation and prepared me for what was to happen and how. She was so empathetic. My dog calmly and peacefully slipped away. I could not be more grateful for the services of Lap of Love and Dr. Tina's kindness."Virginia SharpeLos Angeles, CaliforniaDecember 3, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"Dr. Carrie Roberts was very kind. She was very informative, did not try to rush us through the process and was very caring. We were very happy with her approach to a sad situation. She is a good person."James FarrisFenton, MissouriDecember 2, 2018Tyson's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Dr. Jordan Taheri was most wonderful. He was so considerate of Kano and myself. He allowed us all the time we needed before and after. He drove around to the back of our apartment building so as we could say goodbye in the privacy of our back yard, in the grass, where Kano loved being and had been for days as he was throwing up a lot and wanted to go outside to do so and other situations he was dealing with. So laying there in the grass he performed the procedure. The sky was amazing. Dr. Jordan also was thoughtful enough to pull his truck up to Kano so any neighbors wouldn't see and we had our continued privacy and peacefulness. It was an absolutely awesome way to handle this horribly difficult experience."Cindy GravesDania Beach, FloridaDecember 2, 2018Kano's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristine Campanelli, DVM"Putting our beloved 16 year old dog Daisy down was one of the hardest decisions that my wife and I ever had to make. From the first phone call to Lap of Love until the moment Dr. Kristine left our home, we felt comfortable with the fact that we were putting our trust in this organization during our family's most challenging and difficult time. When Dr. Kristine came to our house, my wife and I had many concerns around whether we were doing the right thing. We presented her with a list of symptoms that Daisy was having over the course of the last year and she took the time to go through the list, explaining what each symptom meant and how it was impacting Daisy, making us feel comfortable with the decision. When it was time to let Daisy go, Dr. Kristine fully explained what would happen and made sure Daisy was comfortable and not in pain. She told us we could give Daisy some of her favorite treats and allowed us to surround her during the last moments, telling my teenage boys that they could stay or leave at anytime they felt uncomfortable. She wanted to make sure we were cared for as much as our beloved pet. Our family was assured that Daisy would go peacefully and we fully trusted Dr. Kristine as she compassionately walked us through the process. My whole family was able to see that Daisy passed with dignity and was finally at peace, and although we were very sad, we are grateful that we got to spend our final moments with her and that she was cared for in her last hours. We would recommend Dr. Kristine and Lap of Love to anyone who is faced with making this very hard decision. They are truly a wonderful and caring organization."Matthew HillSouth Huntington, NYDecember 2, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"My sweet Christmas came into my life 18 years ago. My mother rescued him from our local Humane Society as a gift for Christmas in 2000. He was only 4 months old. Needless to say, I feel like I spent a lifetime with him as he was by my side through many ups and downs and phases of life. My grief is still raw, and it's difficult to document anything so soon after his passing, but I feel it's important to let Lap of Love and anyone reading this testimonial know how grateful I am for Dr. Jordan's help a few days ago. As Christmas' health rapidly started to decline around the Thanksgiving holiday, it was becoming painfully clear to me and my husband that this time around he was not going to turn that corner to a better quality of life. Making the decision to help him on his way to avoid a more painful and tragic ending was excruciating for the both of us. However, the evening that I shared with my family what I thought was the best decision to make for Christmas, a family member shared with me that a friend of his had used Lap of Love for the passing of her dog. After reading many reviews and consulting with our primary veterinarian, it seemed that if all went as well as documented by others, this would be the best gift that we could give to our sweet companion. I am so pleased to be able to say that Dr. Jordan made this experience go as peacefully as I hoped that it would. Lying on his favorite "nester" bed, in his favorite spot of our patio with the sun shining down on his face, Christmas was able to pass very peacefully with his family by his side. He showed no signs of fear, anxiousness or nervousness as Dr. Jordan sat on the ground with us to gently do the things he needed to do to assist Christmas. I could not have imagined a more peaceful and gentle way to have passed for him. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful to Dr. Jordan for his compassion, professionalism and kindness throughout this process. Thank you Lap of Love."Davie, FloridaDecember 2, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"Dr. Brad,
Thank you so much for making our sweet Ozzy’s last day be as peaceful as he deserved. Over the past 15 1/2 years, Ozzy has had numerous health scares and issues, at times we thought he was part cat, since he truly had 9 lives. Being able to let him go surrounded by all of us who loved him so much made an unbearable experience somewhat tolerable. Our other dog Buddy already misses his older furry brother but I hope he adapts to life as an only fur child. He has our children’s three dogs, that visit often, to help him not be as lonely.

Thanks again for the service you provide and allowing our “devil” to pass in his own home.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"Probably the most difficult decision in my life, has been to send my beloved Italian Greyhound, Charley, to the "Rainbow Bridge".

When Dr. Amanda Page appeared at our front door, our boy greeted her as best he could. I immediately felt a sense of peace and calm. Dr. Page was here to honor our charming Charley and help him earn his angel wings in the kindest way possible. And so she did. This wonderful, kind, considerate and respectful human being is devoting her life to helping our animal families in their last moments. We are so privileged and lucky to have found her. Charley took his last breath, peacefully, in his daddy's lap.
We will miss him forever, but I'm sure our beloved boy will be first in line at the "Rainbow Bridge" watching for us to come through the Pearly Gates to join him in eternity.

Thank you, Lap of Love, and our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Amanda Page.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"Our 13 year old Labrador, Walter, was petrified of going to the vet and the experience had become one of great anxiety and exhaustion for both him and us. His last visit was for an ultrasound of his chest which disclosed a questionable malignancy. We were told to follow up again in 6 months. We made the decision at that time not to return for 2 reasons: 1 - we would not have put him through treatment if it was cancer, and 2 - it was too traumatic for him. A friend of ours had just had Lap of Love come to their home to euthanize their dog and they shared the positive experience that they had. They sent me a copy of the veterinarian's card and the word, "hospice" jumped out.
I made the initial call and Dr. Keri Morgan came out to meet us, tell us about their services, examine Walter, and provide us with expectations. Walter started on pain medication to help improve his quality of life and for about six months, we kept in touch with Dr. Keri who answered our questions and helped us to keep him comfortable.
This past Friday, knowing that we could not continue to put it off, we made the most difficult decision of our lives and called to have Dr. Keri return for Walter's final visit. She was here in about 2 hours and was incredible. I would not have changed a thing. She had the utmost respect not just for my husband and I, but above all, for Walter. I just can't say enough good about her. She was caring, compassionate, personal, and loving.
From our initial call to Lap of Love, the experience was incredibly positive. Every single person that I spoke to was kind and patient with all of our questions. For anyone who has a pet that is nearing the end of their life, I strongly recommend calling them to help you through this process for your pet. Walter was our family, he loved us unconditionally and gave us his best years. He deserved to go out with the respect and dignity that Lap of Love provided. Julie Binning"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Peek, DVM"Dr. Peek was absolutely wonderful. She was very caring and gave us as much time as we needed with our dog Bailey. Thanks to Dr. Peek Bailey was able to have her final moments at home feeling happy, safe, and loved. The peace that Bailey and our family had at her death was irreplaceable. It was the best possible situation at a terrible time. We will be forever grateful for extraordinary care we and our dog received."Kate HutchingsLongwood, FloridaDecember 1, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Slade, DVM"I can't begin to tell you how kind and compassionate Dr. Kim was when she came to our house. We, unfortunately, had to make an untimely decision which was not easy. We did not want to bring our dog, Finn, to a vets office to be put down. We felt it was too impersonal and did not want to follow through with a procedure that would place our pet in an unfamiliar setting that would make it even more uncomfortable for the both of us. This decision was not easy but we wanted the best for our dog who deserved to pass with dignity in the arms of a loved one in a comfortable, familiar surrounding. Dr. Kim was compassionate as well as professional, although due to my being overwrought with grief I was not able to communicate that at the time. I am very comforted in the fact that I chose Lap of Love to help us at this difficult time. I would certainly recommend them to anyone in this situation. It was not easy but it was the best alternative for us. I would like to thank Dr. Kim and Lap of Love for their help in our time of need."John FaivreOld Tappan, New JerseyDecember 1, 2018

I have no idea how she is able to do what she does....be so very loving, caring, supportive, kind, compassionate, professional...all at such an emotional time. I'm so thankful she does what she does. She has been there for us as a family twice now. Her role in helping ease our hurting fur babies into the next place is vital.
